Shake Shack Plans First Mexico City Location for 2019 | Eater

"The burger chain founded by Danny Meyer is entering Latin America with its first store planned for Mexico City in 2019 as part of a strategy to reach 30 locations in Mexico by 2028 through a partnership with Grupo Toks. It will join an already crowded market of U.S. chains (McDonald’s, Burger King, Carl’s Jr., Wendy’s) and entrenched local competitors such as Ruben’s Hamburgers. Known for adapting menus to local tastes, the company is likely to introduce Mexico-specific offerings (speculated examples include mayonnaise-laden elotes and a churro-flavored concrete) while continuing rapid international growth—over 180 locations worldwide, about 70 international sites in cities like Tokyo, Seoul, Dubai, and Moscow—and rolling out initiatives such as its 2019 ban on plastic straws." - Whitney Filloon

Shake Shack isn’t bad, it’s a decent burger, but definitely overrated. Nothing extraordinary, really. The service is just like any other fast food place, nothing special, and the atmosphere is quite hectic and noisy. It wouldn’t be my first choice for a burger.

This one is open till midnight which made it a perfect late night snack. Fast service and tastes like any other shake shack, although my friend swears this one is better than the ones in America..

Nothing like Shake Shack, delicious burgers and fries. Try the Shroom burger 👌🏻

This place is doing everything right. The food is great, the prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and efficient. The owner of this branch is very involved in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. I have visited on several occasions and have noticed the owner greeting customers at the door, offering to take customers' trays when they are finished, building rapport with his staff, and being proactive to ensure every customer has a great experience. This is EXACTLY how an owner should run a restaurant. By helping out with the tasks of the employees, he sets a wonderful example for all the workers and helps to create a great atmosphere! I'll be back. Many more times.

I ate at the original Shake Shack in Madison Square Park when it first opened. And having been to many Shake Shack locations all over the world, I have to say that this one is my favorite. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. The location is not overcrowded, and of course the food is so delicious. I’m so glad this place exists. It’s such a pleasant experience. The staff deserve a gold star. Other Shake Shacks tend to be on extremely large and busy streets. And this one is on a highly walkable and cute street. So eating outside is SO pleasant! I love coming here. It is my happy place.

Overall great experience. A bit expensive if you compare it to local mexican food. Fresh french fries and burgers so it was great.
