Shake Shack San Marcos

My experience at Shake Shack was extremely disappointing, especially for the price. We ordered three single burgers, two little fries and two milkshakes, and the total came out to almost $80, which is completely unreasonable for what we received. Out of the three burgers, only one had lettuce, and none of them came with tomato or any additional sauce—just very plain, dry burgers with no explanation or customization offered. They charge me an extra $5 each one to add two little pieces of bacon and a little piece of avocado . There is no customer interaction at all. You’re forced to order through a kiosk, no one greets you, and there’s no opportunity to ask questions or make adjustments. Someone eventually brings the food to the table, but that’s the extent of the service. What made it worse is that the wait was long, even though the restaurant was nearly empty and the kitchen was fully staffed. There was absolutely no sense of urgency or organization. The dining area itself wasn’t spotless—not the worst part—but if the front looks only moderately clean, it really makes you question what the kitchen looks like behind the scenes, which was concerning. For the price point, expectations are much higher. Unfortunately, this location does not deliver on quality, service, or value. I would not recommend it. MC DONALDS IS A BETTER OPTION.

We tried the mushroom burger at Shake Shack and it was so good! The crispy outside with the cheesy filling inside was amazing. The buns were soft, fresh lettuce added a nice crunch, and the flavor was just perfect. The cheese fries on the side made it even better—super cheesy and delicious. Definitely worth trying if you’re at Shake Shack….

Quick service, easy kiosk ordering. Options to sit either inside or out on the patio (recommend the patio at sunset!!) Had the French Onion Soup burger and parmesan garlic fries with the garlic aioli. Great flavor profile!

This Shake Shack is located in the San Marco Premium outlet, which is off the I-35 Freeway. From here you can easily go to feeder road and get back into I-35. This burger was awesome! My daughter said, "This is the best hamburger I've ever had!". We did eat inside the restaurant but they do have a drive-thru. When you walk in, there is a counter with a few, what I'm going to describe as mounted tablets, so you can take your time, place your order and pay right there with a credit card. Then you take a number to put on your table, and once your order is ready, they bring it right to your table. You may also go to the counter and speak with a member and place your order and pay. They were very quick bringing out the order, and it looked great. There is plenty of seating, with outside seating as well. I'm really happy we chose to eat here and will be stopping again as I make this trip every 3 months. In my picture, you can see the strawberry/lemonade (sweet) and a plain burger (and it was still great! ) and fried pickles. They have a nice menu with several burgers, shakes, and drinks and treats. You won't be disappointed!

My boyfriend and i ate here gor the first time. The burgers are absolutely delicious. We will definitely be going back. But the service sucks. The young employees they have working there aren't friendly and don't know how to smile.

Ordered a cheese burger and it was literally a bunch with meT patty and cheese, nothing else. Ok, but the size was ridiculously small. I felt like sending it back and telling them I didn't order from the child menu. Burger boy and in-n-out are WAY better value.

On today's outing I find myself in San Marcos, at the "Shake Shack". Upon arriving you find ample seating inside and an area outside where pets are welcomed. If you don't want to get out of your vehicle they offer a drive through. As you enter you're greeted by someone at the counter. Right here you have the option to order at the counter or the kiosk on the side. I chose the kiosk, for me I can see better and I can take my time. As you enter your order or if you get your order at the counter you get a number to put by your table and they'll bring your food out to you, which is nice. Well talking about the food, I ordered the Two Meat Chesseburger with Bacon and Bacon & Cheddar Fries. The burger was outstanding, evenly cooked with lots of flavor. The fries were delicious, the cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon took the fries to another level. You have many options but with whatever you choose you can't go wrong. Definitely a good choice, the only issue is that it's a bit pricey but the food is worth it.

The food tasted good and price was as expected. The inside has nice seating and is open, bright, and welcoming. I placed an online order and never received a message that my order was ready. Therefore, when I came up to the order pick up, my order had been sitting for over five minutes. I casually mentioned this to the staff but they did not seem interested in resolving the issue or acknowledging it. I suppose they didn't know what to say as it was a mobile order and probably out of their scope. I ordered the basic sandwich and fries and they both tasted good, although not as hot or fresh as it would have been if the mobile order notification worked. I recommend that customers check on their pick up order as soon as they arrive to the restaurant to prevent any issues with their order being ready.

We just love love love shake shack. It's my first time seeing one with a drive thru. I always get the usual which is the chicken bites. It's so good, I honestly think the best chicken nuggets. I loved this location, if you're hungry after a long day of shopping come here!

Love love love the multiple kiosk order stations upon entering. Grab a number table tent and pay all in the kiosk! Grab a seat and your order is delivered to your table for dine in or take out. Super easy. Now for the menu. This is not just another fast food burger like in/out or whataburger. They have elevated the burger selections with Gouda cheese, grilled onions, adding bacon and avocado and a portobello mushroom burger stuffed with melted Gouda. The burger had crispy edges, which added flavor to the beef! All were super fresh and the crinkle fries were really good. Disappointed they sold out of Parmesan garlic fries on a Sunday, but will be back. And can we talk about the shakes? Peppermint Bark and coffee flavored creamy shakes were another surprise for an elevated menu. That said be prepared to spend $30-45 for two people. The dining room was clean and light and bright. We will be back

We dined in for lunch while shopping at the outlets. Lots of parking is available. We had to sit outside as all the tables inside were taken. Luckily they have a nice outdoor seating area. The food was alright. You have to order the entree, then the fries and drink all seperate. I did notice they have milkshakes, beer and wine and soda on the menu. I wanted to make a shout out on how friendly the staff was on a busy Saturday at lunchtime. All had a smile on their faces and were very welcoming.

Service... not really There's a kios to place your order for credit cards only. The food was ok. Ambiance is ok. I ordered 3 burgers in total, 2 fries and 3 drinks which ended being over $50 . I wont be going back. It asked for a damn tip when I'm doing it myself no tip thank you very much. Too damn expensive for my blood for 3 smash burgers, drinks and fries. I couldn't add onions or pickles on their kios The burger was good. Fries not so much and the drinks aren't anything special. I got dr.pepper, coke and a sweet tea. So basic stuff. Lol I had typed Mary Ann on my order as that's how my name is on my bc but they ended putting Mary. So when I told him it's Mary Ann he walked off asking other customers for Mary. Out shopping and remembered we had not been back to Shake Shack so we stopped by. The store is very clean. The manager took our order and she was nice. We got our food quickly and it was good and hot. Hubby loves their drinks! You have to try them.

After a long day of shopping in Premium outlet, we went over Tanger outlet to take a look. Happy to say, that's how we found Shake Shack... just beside Outback. Upon entering, you have the option of going to the counter to place and order or via kiosk. There was a line to the counter so went via kiosk. We ordered the Shake stack, Korean bbq double burger and crinkle fries. It has been a while since I've been to Shake Shack. The burgers were as good as ever. Very tasty. Lots of umami flavor. Tried the Korean burger... it's has crispy onions and shallots as toppings. Fries were crispy. Everything hits the spot. Perfect meal for the drive home. Staff was friendly. They bring out your order if you are dining in. Pace was well lighted and clean. Plenty of choices of tables from counter to regular table.

Best Chocolate Shake!!!!!!!! In San Marcus and ran in either my daughter to get a drink and she said try the shake and I did, I wish I would have taken a picture before I finished!

We had a %20 off coupon for our meal and have never been here we had 3 cheeseburgers 1 shake burger fries drinks and 2 shakes. All was hot tasty pretty fast delivered to your table. Area was clean and well managed

The food was good, but too expensive for what was ordered. A small cheeseburger, crinkle fries, and small chocolate shake. Understand that each was ordered individually. Maybe that is the reason for the cost. Although the service was good, it don't make up for the expense. The shake was great, although it is the same as the Frosty from Wendy's.

Great food, but the drive-through can use improvement, how can you enjoy your meal when there are bees and flies all around you? Not to mention the compost smell from the trash cans, restaurant is very efficient from the time you order the food to the time you pick it up, will come back, but will sit inside, avoid the drive-thru.

Order the food yourself, then they ask for a tip. Then you have to wait to get your drinks with your meal. So instead of having something to drink before your meal like every other restaurant I have to wait. Stupid concept. Only reason we tried it was we had kids with us. Then after waiting 15 min for a drink with our meal they come up and say they are out of chocolate for the shake we ordered. Then the order comes. The cup and wrappers are dirty with food. Then I take a bite of a cold burger. I wanted 28 min and the one thing you couldn't do is provide me with a hot hamburger. Isn't that what you do?? Oh and when they delivered the food they forgot the jalapeno la and sauce. Asked if we needed anything and we said yes , napkins. They never came back. Glad I didn't tip.

We come to this Shake Shack each weekend, and we always receive great service from Angel! Best fries, shakes, and drinks!

There was an issue with my order not showing up and I waited for food for a long time without it appearing. and he staff was really friendly and sorted it out quickly. They were so kind about it and I really appreciated their help. Definitely recommend this location!

To have a fabulous Shake Shack in the outlet area is just the bees knees for me. I love the menu items and easy peasy ease it is to dine here. I love this location too because it might be the only one I have ever seen with a drive-thru option too! Inside there are plenty of spots to hang out in the a/c to cool down from your summer shopping. The patio outside is also nice to do some parking lot watching with fans outside as well. If it is crowded inside come outside as there is plenty of seating and spacious. I came here to celebrate my birthday with my family. I love burgers too much to not have a birthday celebration at Shake Shack so it only felt right. We were encouraged to put tables and chairs together to accomodate the large birthday turn out I ended up having. Having the self order kiosk was ideal too to not have to deal with a large check at the end for our large group. Parking is easy and never full even if it is busy inside. Great spot to pop in, have a shake, get a burger, and figure out the next part of your shopping game plan.

Omg! The Spicy Cheesy Fries are a must! It is seasonal so get them while you can! The Spicy ShackMeister burger was good. Had to take some cherry peppers off Their was a heaping pile of them. The crispy onions were delicious! I have never been to a drive through Shake Shack but there was a little wait even though there was no other cars. I believe they make their burgers to order, so being the only car would mean a little extra wait time. Food was hot and fresh. The service was fantastic the server was very patient when I wasn't sure what I wanted and apologized for the wait. Thank you! PS: The Spicy Cheese Fries did not make it home!

I see why they are called the Shake Shack. Firstly, let's break down my bill. $43 for two burgers, a single Shack Burger and a double Carolina BBQ. Two regular sized crinkle fries, a chocolate salted caramel shake and a cookies and cream shake. That's a lot of money for a small order. And the burgers were by no means huge. Now for the food. The burgers weren't great. Nothing special, and frankly, just not very good. I didn't even finish mine. The fries were ok. Nothing special here either. Now, the two shakes were both REALLY good. Hence, the name Shake Shack. TLDR; too much price, not enough product. Shakes were great.

Was at the outlets and decided to try this place. The lady working the drive through wasn't very courteous just handled the transaction with no emotion - didn't say thanks for anything really. The burger was absolutely fantastic, got their double shack burger and spicy chicken. Easily the best fast food options out there. Everything was made hot and fresh and the burger bun was perfect! The slaw on the chicken complimented the sandwich. Overall if you want a fast food burger, this place is better than most.

Every single time this place hits the spot. The food is the staff is friend and excellent. Very family friendly and their patio is so cool. We even bring out with us.

The service was great. The burgers are great. The shakes are great. Life is great honestly 10 out of 10 the truffle sauce was a chef's kiss. It totally changed the way that I thought about burgers

Came to Shake shacks grand opening today!! It was super packed! The service was great! Food was delicious and the shakes were delicious!! They have many ways you can place an order. On the app, I'm person, kiosk or drive thru. The ambiance was very inviting. If you're in a rush I highly recommend you place your order in advance but food was really good. Portions are a little on the smaller side.

Dismal burger at best. For the Price I would expect much better quality. Maybe it's the San Marcos location, but it was awful!!! I had a stomach ache, is the meat supposed to be so greasy. Burger did not even an actual full piece of lettuce or tomato. I wish I could post a pic because I did take one. The staff was friendly though.

Very small burger nothing like the picture. Exceptionally expensive compared to other similar burgers. Shakes are adequate but also not worth price.

I'm not sure how many times I had to ask for "one moment please" for her to keep repeating anything else? I JUST SAID ONE MOMENT PLEASE. We wanted to try San Marcos Shake shake, going for lunch Monday. The burgers are definitely tasty. I ate mine in five bites, as it was slightly larger than a slider or maybe the size of a juicer burger and in excess of $8 dollars We had three burgers, one order of fries ( which had been sitting in the kitchen for a while; as they were not hot) a, two shakes ( which my ten year old grandson stated was the consistency of chocolate milk)and a glass of water, $50

First time to try this place and they are out of the pomegranate limeade drink ...smh. It's a specialty drink on your menu! Come on. Really upset about so I canceled my whole order. Please have the items you advertise on the drive thru screen.

We ordered hotdogs and fries, and we like them. The fries is regular fries and still taste so good.

Very clean place from the dining area to the restroom. Would've gave them 5 stars but the young lady host:G88. Was rude and very dismissive. When asked a question she would just blow it off and in the middle of taking my order. She stopped and helped someone that walked up to the counter. This would've been ok with me. If she would have just said " sir do mind if I see what they need." When it came to the food. At first it was horrible. My daughter milk shake was just milk and when she told host G88. She blamed it on the AC being out and walked away from her. Then my burger had the paper from the cheese still on it. If it wasn't for Jeff guessing he was the manager. Stepping in and with a smile fixing everything for us. I would've gave them a 1 star just for being clean. Jeff personally watched my sandwich get remade and made my daughter milkshake over. As a surprise it wasn't because of the AC being broke. She got milk the first time. My hat off to Jeff. He is what makes consumers come back.

It was difficult to come up with a point-rating for this restaurant, but I'll put the best stuff up front. For the food, five full stars -- the burgers and fries were outstanding, even comparing to slower-service, traditional restaurants. For speed and friendliness, also five stars: the food was delivered with a smile just a few minutes after we ordered. Less good: prices were startlingly high for what appears to be a fast-food joint, over $60 for two adults and two kids (about what we'd spend at a Red Robin, for example). I was surprised that the touchscreen kiosk asked me to tip for service since we'd made our own order and it's always strange to tip *before* receiving any service. There's no self-service drink fountain, so I had to ask at the counter for a refill (and when that little cup cost three dollars, of course I'm going to get a refill). One star for the music, which was a little louder than it should have been and not at all pleasing to the ear (to put it kindly).

Love the Lockhart burger with Kruez sausage on it. Jeff dropped by and we talked about the old SWT and some common experiences there. Good food, good people there.

It's a burger and fries and it is served fast. It was exactly what I expected it to be. I assume they must pay well because there were a lot of people working during the lunch hour. The burger is kind of greasy, but the buns, lettuce, and tomato were fresh. You can find a better burger in San Marcos, but they cost more than this. I will go back.

Burger was absolutely disgusting. You could tell that the griddle was not scraped before throwing on another patty. It tasted like old, burnt grease. I also asked them to cut the burger in half and the girl told me no. You're seriously that lazy you can just cut a burger in half!?!?!?! Bacon cheese fries were also gross. Their cheese on the fries tasted like they diluted it down with mayonnaise. Primarily went here for the shake and that was another disgusting disappointment. The chocolate shake tasted like with was made with Hershey's powdered chocolate. For $30, I would have expected something good to come off of their menu. Won't be back. And I hope no wastes their hard earned money on a crappy place like this.
