Shake Shack Set to Open at San Jose’s Westfield Oakridge Shopping Mall - Eater SF

"New York City-born burger chain Shake Shack has signed a lease on space at San Jose’s Westfield Oakridge shopping mall, per the Mercury News. It’s the same mall that recently welcomed a highly anticipated outpost of Asian supermarket 99 Ranch, which debuted in late March. According to signs posted outside the mall, San Jose’s second Shake Shack restaurant should debut by late fall 2022." - Lauren Saria

Google
Ordered through their app. I tried the chicken sandwich for the first time. It was ready in 5 minutes. The sandwich was delicious, hot and fresh. The young lady helping face excellent customer service. I will be back next time I’m in the mall.

Google
The burger patty was extremely delicious. the meat was cooked at a perfect temperature and was worth what we paid . We got avocado lettuce cheese bacon and the special sauce they use 10/10. The fries weren’t bad at all but not worth $4 since you have to order it separately. Customer service was great ! She didn’t make a mistake and was friendly .

Google
It's probably on the top 3 of my list of burger spots. Something about the way they prepare and cook their burger patties just gives it more flavor than others. It's a bit more expensive than in-n-out, but it might be better, to be honest.

Google
Ordered the hot chicken sandwich. Taste was not bad but the portion was child sized. After two bites, it was no larger than a McDonald’s hash brown😂 it could be considered “healthy” I guess

Google
First time here and I had the most smallest expensive burger I've ever had. It was like a slider then a regular hamburger size. The mushroom burger my bf had was the best! Mine was fine I just expected more for the price.

Google
I tried one of their shakes and now I always go back, they’re great! My wife sometimes gets something to eat; their burgers are pretty good too. For me it’s about the shakes, especially the strawberry one, with whipped cream 🤤🤤🤤

Google
Iv been hearing alot of hype regarding the burgers from this place. So I decided to try it out.. honestly wasn't impressed. Burger had no flavor. Basically tasted like beef and grease. Maybe I should have added ketchup to the burger. But iv always believed good burgers dnt need ketchup. But man was I wrong. Maybe it the burger I chose or maybe the time of day I went. I dunno but it wasn't good. The shake was amazing but I'd hope that be easier to make then the burger. Over all I'd still prefer in and out . Or. Even five guys over the shake shack burgers. Srry not srry

Google
Ordering was a breeze—quick and efficient, with no hassle involved. The Shackburger had a juicy patty, but it leaned on the salty side, which might not appeal to everyone. The bun was soft, the cheese perfectly melted, and the lettuce added a fresh crunch. It paired well with fries, making for a satisfying meal overall.

Yelp
Easy and free parking and lots of seating in food court made this an easy option to explore. I was pleasantly surprised to see just 2-3 people waiting in line ahead of me in this line. Our order arrived in less than 10 mins. In $20, we got: - chicken shack burger with pickles & lettuce 4/5- decent and definitely an upgrade from popeyes or chickfila - lemonade 3/5- too sugary and not freshly squeezed - fries - salty and crinkle cut fries with ketchup - 3.5/5 nothing amazing but decent and paired well with the lemonade I felt this meal didnt serve its purpose at $20 and felt expensive. I wish they added some more hot sauce/ side sauce options. -

Yelp
Makes order early, doesn't keep shake chilled nor is there a system to notify when order is ready. Only calls out in person order so you when to pretty much squeeze past crowd during busy time. Staff has an attitude and knows that they are always busy and doesn't care about quality of service. Take it or leave it mentality.

Yelp
Finally got the chance to try this place at my local Oakridge mall. My family and I got here around 2:30 pm and there wasn't much of a line. We got 2 baskets of fries, a Golden State Burger, a cheeseburger, and a chicken shack burger. The wait was about 10-15 minutes, which wasn't busy at all. The fries were crispy but wished there was more salt. My family enjoyed their burgers. My sister said it was very filling and my mom really enjoyed her chicken burger and meat quality. I liked my burger but I still enjoy in n out more.

Yelp
I don't usually eat at Shake Shack, but I went yesterday because I saw they had a promo for a free shake with a $10 minimum purchase. You can use code FAVESHAKE to get a free shake if you spend at least $10 in person or when you order for online pickup (see their website for details). * Avocado bacon chicken: 3/5 It was okay. This burger was over $10 so I was expecting more. The chicken is much smaller than the rest of the burger, so I was left with a lot of bun/lettuce and no chicken. It was kind of salty. It wasn't bad overall but it's definitely not worth almost $11. * Non-dairy chocolate shake: 3/5 I got it for free with the promo code. I wouldn't spend over $7 on this otherwise. The flavor was okay, but the consistency was very liquid and not like a shake should be. The texture was almost like chocolate milk, not a shake. Not sure why it was so liquid because I picked up my order immediately after it was done-- it wasn't like it had been sitting out so long that it melted. Overall okay experience. I probably won't come back since just a chicken burger and a shake would have been $20 without the promo code I used.

Yelp
I haven't had Shake Shack in years so I decided to try it out again since I was at the mall. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and onions and it was delicious! I was surprised with how good it was especially for it being at a food court. The patties are more like a smash burger so I'd recommend to get two if you're really hungry - the two patties were perfect for me. Everything tasted fresh and the meat was nice and juicy. The bun was perfectly soft as well. You order at a kiosk and they'll call you name out/send you a text when your order is ready so I didn't have contact with the staff other than when they handed me my order. Happy that they added this into the food court and will definitely be back whenever I'm at the mall and craving a burger!

Yelp
I appreciate having a Shake Shack close by to satisfy my random Shake Shack cravings. I ordered food through their App multiple times and have always experienced a great experience. For fast food, the food is a bit on the pricier side, but the food price is on par with the food prices in the mall food court and food quality is great. I'd recommend ordering through the app and check out for deals to save some $$$. There are a lot of burger options to choose from. I love the cheeseburger. The bun is is perfectly soft and delicious and the patties are always seasoned well. I love crinkle-cut fries and think the fries are super crispy and delicious.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Shake Shack and see what the hype is all about. I was happy when they put one in the Oakridge Mall. I got the ShackBurger and Spicy Fries with ranch. The burger was good, but I recommend getting it as a double. That patties were small, so next time I will get a double. The Shake Sauce was good and I also liked how it didn't over power the taste of the burger. The potato bun was really good. The spicy fries were really good. Spicy, crispy and soft on the inside. I loved these.

Yelp
Highly recommend using the Shake Shack App to easily place your order and pickup. This Shake Shack is located inside Westfield Oakridge Mall at the food court area. Parking can be very difficult to find during prime times/weekends. What we ordered: - avocado & bacon burger: 5/5 - quite juicy, thing is the ingredients inside were not centered so had to shift a few items like the pickles and onions to make sure each bite will have everything - chicken shack: 4/5 - had a huge piece of chicken but slightly on the drier side - bacon cheese fries: 4/5 - there was barely any cheese drizzled on top but fries were decent - chicken bites: 4/5 - enjoyed the crispy parts of the chicken pieces Make sure to double check your takeout because we were missing some sauces.

Yelp
Grabbed a bite before a movie and it's not often I get to eat Shake Shack so was really excited for my favorites, the Shroom Burger and Cheese Fries. Order at the kiosk on a tablet and able to customize your orders. You get a text when your order is ready. Shroom burger and cheese fries were as good as I remembered, and didn't burn my mouth as I waited long enough this time!

Yelp
While shopping at the mall, we chose to try out Shake Shack at the Oakridge mall food court. The prices are higher than In and Out but cheaper than 5 Guys. I have to say that the beef here has a lot more flavor than In and Out and it's also grass-fed and grass-finished (vs grain-fed beef) so that's where the extra cost lies. Our meals were served hot. Nothing special with the crinkle cut fries but they were good. We ordered via a kiosk. Our order came out in about 10 mins. Seating here is much better since it's part of a large food court (unlike their Valley Fair location). IMO, if you want to treat yourself to tastier burger, give the Shack a try.

Yelp
I haven't been to Shake Shack in 2-3 years and was hankering to try it again. It's good, but not great. I'll give them credit for fresh made burgers and fries, not sitting pre-made and sitting under heat lamps. Also using good beef, but in CA where you've got InNOut Burger, there's really no reason to go here. InNOut is better tasting and literally half the price. So good in a pinch I suppose, definitely better than the run of the mill fast food giants, but InNOut is the king!

Yelp
First time having shake shack. I must say it's a bit pricy but the hamburgers are really good. We had the shake shack burger and hamburger with mushroom. When you bite into the mushroom a nice burst of cheese comes out to. Very good. I pre-ordered on line but came 30 min early because I was in the area and they was more than happy to fill my order in advance without having to wait until said time. At Oakridge mall lost of parking depending upon the time and day. Then may be harder to find parking. Shake Shack is in the food court of the mall. Once again depends upon the time and day of the week for a table to sit. I highly recommend going through the app when ordering. There's perks too.

Yelp
I finally got a chance to try shake shack after hearing great things about it for so long. Customer service was great. I can only speak to what I ordered which was a double shack burger. I really enjoyed it. It was piping hot, super fresh and you can tell they use quality ingredients. I would definitely come back to try other items including their fries and shakes.
google avatar

Khiet E.

Yelp
Ordered the Shack Burger and strawberry shake. Omg the burger was so good and juicy. It did not disappoint. Ordering was quick and easy, you just walk up and place your own order on the machine. The wait time was not bad, 10 mins. The strawberry shake was perfect, not too sweet.

Yelp
Very kind respectful service, always professional and dressed well employees! Since it is in a food court I can't say much about the setting but usually oak ridge is clean. The food here at shake shack is amazing, I got the smoke shack and it's amazing! Smokey and well put together. I personally don't like mine with cherry peppers but have had them before and they are also delicious. I've been to different shake shacks around the Bay Area and all of them, since they are corporate owner business, are held up to a standard and all of the ones I've been to have met said standard. Each one I visit always hits your tastebuds with a smack especially there original shakes!

Yelp
This was the second Shake Shack I tried in my life, the first being at the boringest mall in the world according to my kids - Valley Fair. Having taken the small former Starbucks slot in the Oakridge mall, it's not set up quite as poshly as that other location (seating is not separate from the rest of the food court as well), but in terms of the food I couldn't taste a difference - all of what we've tried has been great, from burgers to hot dogs to chicken strips to drinks. Service is quite slow the few times we've been there, so don't go if you're in a rush. In my ongoing effort to try unhealthy food that I can convince myself is healthy, I recently tried their new veggie shack(tm) burger and despite dreaded mushrooms being incorporated into the pattie, it was really quite good, and probably still would still have been good had I not added avocado and cherry peppers to it. Note that that burger has the same amount of sodium as the regular burger, which could be good news or bad news for you depending on your perspective. Overall, I'll probably be back fairly regularly to get something I and the kiddos enjoy.
google avatar

Vineesha D.

Yelp
This is my first time trying the burger so, I cannot compare it with other locations. Ordering was pretty quick. I ordered a chicken burger, to go with fries. After coming home ( a 15-minute drive), my bun was soggy and the chicken is bland. I didn't enjoy my burger. Next time I will try it there and will update the review. As of now, it is not a great experience.

Yelp
I came here yesterday with my father in law and two kids. Four burgers, four fries, and drinks. It was so easy... walk in. Order on the touch screen and wait for a text to pick up my order. No real customer service but I am not complaining because it was a pretty simple process. Now the food... was delicious. The burgers had that char taste and the fries were crispy but soft inside.all four of us killed our food. I mega what more can you ask for? My father in law who is an in and out fanboy gave credit where credit was due. This spot does have limited outdoor seating but the food court has plenty of seating if you want to stay indoors. Is it better than in and out? I feel like shake shack's burgers have more grease than the in and out but the shack's fries are more tasty. So... I can't really say. In and out is west coast and more chains are present here. Shake shack locations are limited so if I am close it feels like a treat like chic fil a.

Yelp
Located at the corner of the food court, where it was once Starbucks. Lines are long, I wasn't sure if ordering via the app was quicker. The gentleman that took our order was soft-spoken and nice, had enthusiasm. He just forgot to ask if we wanted whipped cream on one of the milkshakes. Gavin and I ordered the avocado bacon burger and bacon cheeseburger. Both single patties. Since they do not offer combos, we ordered a side of fries and chicken bites to accompany our meal. For fast food in a sense, it was very pricy. I spent about $50 for just the 2 of us. The tiramisu shake (a limited time offer) was creamy, very mild coffee flavor, and delicious. The lady finger adorned at the top wasn't soggy or stale. I broke it into pieces and threw it back into the shake. Gavin ordered the cookies and cream milkshake (it came w/o whipped cream). I wasn't aware I needed to order it w/ whipped cream, neither were we asked. Our burgers are small but proportionally right. I'm just so used to gluttony, but the burgers here are made fresh and I would like to believe that they don't use beef patties filled w/ GMOs. Not healthier, but a healthier way to eat. Imagine only eating stuff not genetically modified or w/ tons of preservatives. I had to hand it to staff working last Friday 2/3 evening. They were all busting their asses and they did it w/ a smile and a positive attitude.

Yelp
I don't usually want to do a review over a fast food restaurant, but I have craved a few times their white truffle burger, as well as their truffle parmesan fries. I have found them to be surprisingly tasty and once in a while I give in to that craving They also have a variety of standard and specialty shakes to choose from, such as the creamsicle shake or the pomegranate lemonade. They're all pretty decent. The service has been pretty good when I've gone, usually one person at the cash register and many people putting together the burgers and fries and other treats. You can't expect too much ambience inside a food court at the mall, but still works for people watching.... So if you're looking for a tasty burger at a reasonable price, I think this place can hit the spot.
google avatar

Whitnie B.

Yelp
The burgers are smashed and come like if you made them from your backyard in a good way, the bun is sweet and different. It's a good food court mall choice you order on a kiosk, service was fast.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
I haven't been to many Shake Shacks so I can't do much comparison. Got take out via the app and realized it's not an ideal location since it's at the mall. Was difficult to park but more of my fault than theirs! Ordered a double shack burger. It was juicy and really flavorful. The buns are soft, beef patties thick! I thought it was pretty tasty. Not sure if worth $10 though for just the burger. Next time I'll add on fries!
google avatar

Nick G.

Yelp
This place is pretty good! I would say it's up there for burgers, but they're super expensive! The service isn't what it started as so you order yourself on tablets now and the people bagging the food and calling out were super nice! I overheard it was the dudes last day, but even that being his last day he was super nice! I haven't been here in a bit, but I forgot to leave a review because the guy went above and beyond to make sure my service was great!
google avatar

Tina K.

Yelp
This location is not my fav. Employees were nice, but slow and didn't include the silverware that I requested. Then forgot to get my sauce. Food was ok. Pass for me!
google avatar

Aliya M.

Yelp
This was my second time at shake shack. The first time I got their regular cheese burger and I thought it was just okay. This time I decided to try the shroom burger and to be honest, i prefer this over their hamburger. Their fries were also really fresh compared to my first visit, which wasn't entirely their fault. It was busy Saturday lunch rush compared to going on a Wednesday. The service was great. They do have a kiosk to place orders or you can also place them with an employee at register. The overall ambiance is very open, I really liked that there is both outdoor and indoor seating.
google avatar

Howard C.

Yelp
Never texted back to let me know the food was ready. Food sat on the counter to get cold. Also the Korean style dip for the fries is gross. No thanks
google avatar

Nancie D.

Yelp
30 bucks for 2 burgers 2 fries and a small coke. Nope! The burger was greasy and I feel like I have a stomach ache after eating it. Fries were cold. My grand really enjoyed the ketchup. Definitely not worth 30 bucks. Could have gone to cheesecake factory for a few dollars more. As for service you order your own food and they still have a spot on the screen for a tip. Definitely won't eat it again.
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
Around $10 to get a lukewarm sandwich at best. Seasoning on the patty was lacking and beyond bland. The lemonade was also weaker than what lemonades should taste like. The only saving grace was the fresh avocado I got.

Sam S.

Yelp
I should have checked the reviews before coming to this shake shack because holy was it disappointing. The fries were decent but under seasoned, but the burger was horrible. The burger was so insanely greasy that the entire bun was soggy by the time I got my order to my table. Biting into the burger was the same as biting into a handful of lard. Flavours were completely off and just felt gross eating it. I'm so glad my Amex gold card was able to cover most of this because a burger and fries were 15$?!! Shake shack is getting ridiculous with their pricing if they are going to serve stuff like this. In-N-Out is way bette, don't waste your time at Bay Area shake shacks. I've been to 3-4 outside of NYC and in other counties and none have really been good.
google avatar

Sunil R.

Yelp
I remember a time when Shake Shack was all the rage and everyone was excited when they first opened a location in the Bay Area. Well, now it is different now that they have a few locations around the Bay and when I compare it to other semi-higher-end burger chains...it's still pretty good. I got the truffle burger and it went fast.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
This is the 3rd Shake Shack I've been to and it's, you know, a Shake Shack. And I like Shake Shack! Better than In-N-Out although at a much higher price point. Anyway, this one is in the Westfield Oakridge mall, which is unfortunately not the nicest mall. Mostly cheap junk and lots of awful food. So you really want to get this to go as eating here means lots of noise and minimal cleaning. One thing that's weird is the wait times, I was waiting like 20 minutes while there were hardly any people here. I know the food needs to be cooked, but... it's burgers. It can't take that long. Anyway, if you can order ahead to go, it's probably 4 stars because I do really like Shake Shack. But don't eat here and don't be in a hurry.

Danielle B.

Yelp
My daughter and I have a particular way of ordering to accommodate her food allergies, so we always have to order from a customer service rep instead of using the self serve kiosk and we are served with kindness and proficiency EVERY TIME! Thank you Shake Shack at Oakridge for being awesome! We are lifetime customers
google avatar

Lucky R.

Yelp
My family and I have been coming to shake shack for quite some time. And I honestly must say they never miss. Wait isn't that long especially on a busy day. Workers are kind and helpful. One of my favorite burgers there was the "out of the barrel burger" that comes out exclusively in the summer. the bacon cheddar fries are an absolute "MUST HAVE" The environment there is very welcoming and can get pretty crowded as well. Seating is not hard to find. I highly recommend this restaurant for anybody out there who loves a good hearty burger. WILL BE COMING BACK FOR MORE !!!
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was pretty busy and wait times for your meal were kind of long. Took 25 mins for me to receive my order of a shake stack, crinkle fries, and a lemonade. Burger and fries were okay. Probably won't return to this location.
google avatar

Joy M.

Yelp
The shakes here are so bomb!!! Chicken burger was good! I think the regular hamburger was only okay
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
So my wife and I went here for my birthday. A new spot, I like hamburgers, and Shake Shack has a good reputation. It just wasn't good. I ordered the classic double cheeseburger and added bacon? The burger was super greasy, and tasted like a dirty grill. I've had food truck burgers with cleaner grills. The Bacon was super thin, like that scene from Mickey and the Beanstalk (see attached picture) The menu said the burger came with Cheddar, but was it White Cheddar? It just wasn't the orange cheddar I was expecting. Next up the shake. It was alright. $0.50 to add malt (which I couldn't taste) and $0.50 to add whipped cream. For less I can get a real ice cream shake of equal, or better quality from Jack in the box (and it comes with a cherry on top) Again a fairly low bar that didn't wow me. Finally we come to the fries. While I was tempted to try the bacon cheese fries, I just went with regular fries. I ate my fries after my burger, and they were completely cold. They were not crispy, rather they were chewy and leathery. I thought it was important to highlight what was wrong with my meal first, now let's get to execution. Even though there was 2 cash registers, only 1 person was ringing up orders. It was a fairly long line waiting to order, and a fairly long wait for our food (I think we waited at least 15 minutes) Judging by the rating trends here, it looks like this hasn't been a very good opening.

Erick W.

Yelp
Overpriced and not good anymore. Shake was watered down and employees rude. Almost went back for a refund.
google avatar

Michael J.

Yelp
Good lunch today. Not crowded earlier in the day. Food came out relatively quickly. Staff were friendly. Food was good, though pricey especially for what you get. I had a bacon cheeseburger, which was delicious, but on the smaller side. I'm okay with that, so I don't overeat, but for the price it should be larger, or include fries. I also enjoyed their French fries, which are a la carte. They do serve a very good chocolate milkshake. It hit the spot! This location is in the Westfield Oakridge food court. Since, it was earlier in the day, there was plenty of available seating. Otherwise, the ambiance is standard food court for a mall.
google avatar

Francisco E.

Yelp
This place routinely gets orders wrong. This most recent time we ordered an avocado and bacon burger which came with neither. Also ordered a veggie burger but got a burnt mushroom burger.

Jeff M.

Yelp
After all the hype about them coming to the bay area...was seriously disappointed Prices way to high for what you get. Fries were average at best..cold and not tasty at all. The burger was average Locally five guys and In and out are better Kirks is best in san josr area hands down The burger was small..greasy and tasted just Ok.. over rated!

Yelp
It took about 30 minutes to get the online order once we arrived at this location. Needless to say, the service here sucks and it appears that these workers don't know what they're doing. I saw the young man who was suppose to be packing the food double check all the boxes to see what's inside, it's obvious he lost track of the orders and everything is all mixed up. At one point, he pulled out one of the chicken patty to give back to the cooks and was signaling for them to get the correct meat? Who does that? You just touched a bunch of boxes and counter that i doubt was cleaned regularly and want to place it back into the sandwich? Nah bro... don't do that. He looked so lost and confused it's almost comical. As far as the food goes, I had ordered a root beer float that was sitting on the shelf for the duration of the wait and asked for a new one. The burger got cold but at least the fries were hot enough to enjoy? This place needs better management, and more importantly better handling of foods in the kitchen. Never coming here again...
google avatar

Vivian K.

Yelp
The hot dog was split open and grilled which is what I prefer. Tasted good but it was too tough and rubbery. Disappointing. Ordered on the screen at the counter. Didn't seem to be any workers to take orders. Food took too long to be ready. Server was nice, though.
google avatar

Grissette V.

Yelp
The food was great as always but the service was a bit too slow for being the middle of the week and mall wasn't very busy. I would understand if it was a weekend when the mall is usually busy with customers. This place also does not have the self kiosk to order like the Valley Fair location.

Kai R.

Yelp
Had a great experience and thank you manager Nieves for helping me. I was scared to come at first but I'm sold after the great customer service and great quality food!

Yelp
This was my very first time eating at Shake Shack. I arrived at 8 pm and ordered a Double Shack Burger, fries, and a Black and white milkshake. Order a double because the patties are super thin. The burger tasted good, but the tomato was too soft and thin, and the lettuce was the leafy type and had no crunch. There was no texture to the burger and was like eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. These were the first crinkle-cut fries I've ever liked, although they could've been a bit more crispy. The shake was a bit thin for my taste. I don't mind a pricey burger as long as long as its worth it. So far the best I've had is the Farmhouse burger at Gordon Ramsay Burger in Las Vegas and it was worth the $$$. Next time I'll try a thicker Shake Shack burger...maybe the Shack Stack and use my own iceberg lettuce.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting establishment I would never come back here God forbid anyone else to come to this establishment, run by a bunch of incompetent 19 year old. I swear to God the manager is probably 22 years old and is coked out half the time on a shift, by the time I received my burger, it was absolutely cold, and a bite was missing out of the bun. They ignored my pleas for additional napkins and utensils. I'm pretty sure one employee mocked my disabled son, who has been wheelchair bound all his life. My one request for the shake shake management team is to be more diligent when hiring staff and these minors need to learn how to grow up and function in a real business environment.
google avatar

Yelp
Just disappointed. Came here 1/2 hour before close and ordered a burger, fries, and chocolate milkshake. It took 30 minutes to receive my order even though there were only about 10 customers. The staff looked disorganized and confused on everyone's order. Customers came back and returned orders. The employees making the food looked confused constantly looking and double checking orders and receipts. It just looked like a mess. By the time I received my order, it was now 8:30 and they were closing up. I sat down, bit into my burger and discovered they gave or made me the wrong order. At that point I tried to just eat it but unfortunately they gave me the spicy burger and I just couldn't eat it. My husband went back to the register and asked them to return it. The cashier took it back and said they could make a new one. Well, 10 minutes later I told my husband something was wrong and to check in with them to see what the wait was for. He went back to the register and the cashier said they couldn't make a new one because they closed so my husband asked what his options were. Then the cashier didn't know what to do so he went to the back to ask the manager and came back out and said he would do a refund. It took him 10 min again to figure out how to process a full refund and then he gave my husband two coupons for french fries. What an awful experience. And who is the manager running the business? When that happened, the manager should have come out and took care of the refund or showed the employee how to do it let alone apologize for confusion and mess up w the order. I ended up writing Corporate and just got a measly "sorry for the terrible experience... we will have someone go out there and speak w the staff" bs email which I highly doubt anything will be done about it. But seriously who is running the place? I tried to give it another chance since they gave us free fries and well that turned into a second disaster. The cashier didn't know how to ring up the coupon so he said he would tell the staff to add it into our order of burgers. Well, they got the burgers right and forgot the fries. So by the time we got our fries, we had finished our meals. The issue is they have no leadership running the show and a bunch of teenagers running it instead. I've been to the Palo Alto and Valley Fair location and never had a bad experience. This just says a lot about their hiring and who they have managing. And there needs to be changes made in order for this business location to thrive. Never coming back to this location and I don't recommend it because there are other burger restaurants you should spend your money on that offer better high quality standards and service such as In & Out, IM Burger, the Habit Burger... all near by. Lastly- look at the other reviews. I wouldn't go by a few of the 5 star reviews as it seems they were added by friends. Instead go by the lower rated ones who have the same complaints I encountered. Consistency is what matters and all the bad reviews are consistency telling the same complaints I had. Milkshakes are bomb? Are you kidding me. One review rated them bomb. Try one of the other places I listed about. Far better, better consistency, added whip cream, etc. the two times I tried this place- the milkshake was warm and watery. So have no clue what one reviewer was claiming other than doing the review for a friend who works there. Another raved the burger. The burgers are small, messy and soggy and for $10 bucks. What a joke. Try Super Duper. It's better for your buck and honestly any other establishment. So again, if you are smart, go elsewhere to spend $25 for yourself for two people you are spending $45. Not worth the money.

Yelp
OMG - I am a serious fan of Shake Shack. The crinkle fries with cheese and the ShackBurger, it truly hits the spot. I have a son who shares my love of crinkle fries with cheese but always gets the Shack Stack (a bit too much for me) and we always wash it down with our usual Shack -lemonade. I am thrilled that there is one now at the Oakridge Mall - yay!

Yelp
I was looking forward to this location opening since it is less than 10 mins from where I live but after the unpleasant experience I had with their staff, I will not be returning and will let my friends & family know to avoid this place. I was happy to see there wasn't a long line when I got there. I placed my order with the young gentleman at the register. Apparently, he's the only one that had been properly trained in customer service or maybe it was his upbringing because the other employees I encountered lacked any courtesy, attentiveness or basic people skills. When I received my food, the employee called out my name and just left it on the counter. Didn't bother to ask or provide me any ketchup for my fries or a straw for my shake. Then another employee started arranging plastic cups and still didn't ask if I needed help until I got her attention. Then I mentioned to another employee that my shake wasn't filled to the top of the cup like the rest of the ones I saw. His response which made no sense was "we don't determine how much goes in the cup. That's on the person making the shakes". I replied with "for a $6 shake, I think I should get the full amount." He shrugged his shoulders and turned and walked away. Therefore, leading me to write this review. Let's see if the management bothers to address mine and the other complaints on these reviews!

Yelp
I've only been to the Palo Alto mall location prior to this, so maybe this will be biased. Really wanted this to be good, If the store reads this you guys gotta up your standards to be on par with other locations. I got the Hot One's chicken sandwich, and it left A LOT to be desired. It was basically just thrown together ingredients. The cheese was still cold and in the packaged cheese shape, bacon also cold. There was also the smallest amount of the Hot One's sauce on top, seriously didn't get any of it till halfway through the sandwich. It's not hot either, basically sriracha mayo. The chicken was decent tho, so two stars for frying a piece of meat. Waste of $10 overall...Should of just gone to Popeyes next door...
