The Owner of San Francisco’s El Faro Wants to Sell the Business After Three Break-Ins in a Week | Eater SF

"I note that Shake Shack opened its third San Jose location on Thursday, October 17 at Westgate Center on Saratoga Avenue (with a fourth San Jose spot slated for Bascom Avenue at the end of the year), an expansion that comes after a wave of California closures in August that impacted the Oakland location and several Southern California shops." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
You know I rarely give 5 stars, but the Shake Shack burgers are on a whole other level. They cook and char these meat patties so well, and they have to be using prime meat because you can taste the difference. The truffle fries were delicious and the service was great. Will definitely be coming back.

This place is above all burgers!!! Their burgers are always perfectly seasoned and cooked. I love the edges of the burger they are crispy to perfection!!! Their place is always clean and bright and employees are always so nice!!!

Google
It seems to be new, so it makes sense why there are a few kinks to be worked out. For example, the speed of the food coming out. Although, it was pretty busy at the time. Kinda expensive for the size of things, but it's not too crazy like everyone's saying. I really liked the cheese sauce they used on the fries and thoroughly enjoyed the truffle burger that I had. Definitely give it a try.

Google
Service level is at a bare minimum. I often feel invisible picking up my order here. Today, I was handed my order without even being looked at. My burger was wrong so I checked the name. My name was crossed out with a giant "Alex" on it. Oh well, I'm not wasting my time going back and trying to explain to the workers here. That being said, Shake Shack is delicious.

Google
It was honestly one of the most ordinary burgers I’ve ever had. I got avacado bacon burger. The flavor didn’t really stand out, and the bun was quite small. The staff helped me, but they didn’t seem very friendly or engaged. Considering the overall taste and service, I found it a bit overpriced. I appreciate the effort, but unfortunately, it just didn’t meet my expectations this time.

Google
You can’t go wrong with a burger. The steak and sauce is nice. I do wish the buns were more crispy rather than soft/soggy, and I wish they put more lettuce in the burger.

Came in to have lunch for my first time trying this place. The food and atmosphere was great. Unfortunately I left my credit card behind. I called the restaurant and spoke to Everett. I walked in asked him if he needed to see my ID for verification. And he was very friendly and even offered a lemonade but I declined as I just had lunch. Thank you to the Staffa sub managers for holding onto my credit card. Great food great service.

Google
The chicken sandwich was delicious. The lemonades were amazing. The bacon cheeseburger a bit small but yummy. French fries Were terrible. Shake Shack has screwed up their fries. Get a potato and cut it. Fresh quality.

Yelp
Westward Shake Shack is really a nice and clean establishment. Open, airy considering you are met with ordering kiosk only. Order was easy as any kiosk is. On to the food: We ordered the fried chicken sandos and onion rings. Food was delivered to our table from wait staff and looked delicious. The buns are impressive as they are soft, chewy looking and have some heft. The buns did not disappoint. Super tasty and we loved the chew. The fried chicken was tasty although very salty. The crunch on the chicken went well with the bun. The herb mayo was not my favorite and there was just too much of it on my chicken. The pickles added just what the chicken needed, together it works! Just wish the chicken was less salty. The onions rings were good, but the way they are stacked in a box makes you feel like, 5 and no more than 5 onion rings. Hope the French fries aren't counted and stacked in a box. A little bit too regimented. I would come back for another visit just to see what this place has to offer with other items.

Yelp
Came in a little after 9pm, they close at 10. Went straight to the kiosk to order. Doesn't look like they have any combo meals, just order burgers and sides separately. Their burgers range from $8 (single patties) to $14 (double patties) varieties. They also have chicken burgers, but I didn't to try that. I really liked the French onion soup burger though, very well seasoned. Now, the fries - worth it. You could also get frozen crinkle fries from the store and bake it crispy though haha. But the fries were addicting. Onion rings weren't bad either. The burgers also tasted good, but they seem so small for the price T-T. I would have also preferred they used a crisper lettuce. The patty was a good size, well made, but at least get a bigger bun to trick me that the burger is bigger or something, haha. Inside was spacious, plenty of seating. You can walk up to multiple kiosks to order and then take a number. They deliver your order to you. Service was sweet, but the tables or the floor in there had a real musty old water smell. Like dirty water smell, yeesh. I'm not sure if I'd get it again, but it was nice to try.

Yelp
I love shake shack! Expensive and portions are kinda small but tastes really good. Service was great too.

Yelp
Solid Shake Shack experience! Tried the Big Shack, which seems like the Shake Shack's version of the Big Mac. It was yummy but the bun was too small for the patties and fixings. My wife had the Chicken Shack in a lettuce wrap, and we both had fries. Great location here by the Westgate Mall. Another plus for this spot is ample outdoor seating for those of us with pups!

Yelp
I had lunch here today with a good friend, after a few hours of shopping. We both got a hamburger and cheese fries and a drink. You place your order at one of the kiosks or at the front register. You take a number to place on your table and then your food is delivered to you. There are seating options outside and inside. Since it was raining we picked a table inside. Our food came out fast. The hamburgers and fries were delicious. The staff here are amazing. The young lady that brought our food, Aynaz, was so sweet. We chatted for a bit, because I wanted to know if they had the new onion rings. Apparently you have to order them exclusively on the App until September 12. After that they will be available to order in the restaurant. Andrew, the manager, stopped by our table to offer us refills on our drinks, which was so nice. This location is really nice and I will definitely be returning to try the onion rings.

Yelp
It seems sacrilegious for a born and raised West Coast person to love Shake Shack over In N Out but I LOVE shake shack. We lived in San Jose about 8 years ago and came back for a party near Westgate Center, it was nostalgic to drive by some old areas we used to go to and while getting some snacks at the nearby Target we noticed this Shake Shack. There are ordering kiosks that let you order super quickly and then the order is brought to your table or your to-go bag given to you. There is a lot of seating inside and outside but we came around 12:45 and it was pretty crowded inside, we were barely able to get a table. I wanted my kids to try this place for the first time and they pointed out some of the things I like that make this my favorite fast food burger chain. -Very "beefy" taste. I had to look this up, I've noticed it before and interesting it's the first thing the kids called out. The patties taste like concentrated beef in a very good way. Shake Shack's beef blend is a closely guarded secret, but it's known to be a mix of 100% Angus beef from Pat LaFrieda. -Giant patty to bun ratio: They cook using a smashburger technique that gives each patty delicious crispy bits as well as lock in moisture. The best part is each patty overhangs the buns by a large amount and burger look so much more appealing like this. -Crinkle cut fries: we LOVE crinkle cut fries and our favorites are the del taco ones. These are at the same level with much much surface area to get crunchy bits compared ot normal fries.

Yelp
We've come several times. Always very clean and good service. This time, we came for the Dubai Shake. Dubai chocolate has been the latest fad. We've come in before, but we came way late in the day and they had sold out. This time we came before the lunch crowd and we were able to get this trendy drink. It's pretty fantastic. You squish the cup a little bit to crack all the chocolate. And had the crispy kataifi in the shake. It's definitely "must try!"

Yelp
Ordered togo but ended up eating there instead. My toddler liked her burger but I think she preferred the fries and the milkshake. My favorite part was the bacon in my burger, it was nice a and crispy. It was pretty quiet when we first got there but it picked up pretty quickly for the dinner crowd. Overall very clean and liked the Halloween decor they had displayed.

Yelp
My thoughts: This is a traditional burger restaurant that is been around the west gate area through out the up and down of the economy. And any restaurant can survive the harsh business world is A OK in my book. Plus they do serve good burger food and maintain a reasonable price. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean but not up to date. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of American food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in U.S . Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

Yelp
Very new, clean and spacious location! Easy to park since it's located at Westgate Plaza. It's open late, so it's perfect when you suddenly crave a burger in the middle of the night. I had the Black Truffle Burger and the Sunset Lemonade. The lemonade was so refreshing, and I liked the rich truffle sauce that paired perfectly with the crispy onions and Angus beef patty. Service was quick and efficient. I'm pretty sure I'll be back soon!

Yelp
We haven't been here in a while but decided to do an impromptu burger stop and got the following: - Shack Double - for old times sake got the double. I would give the taste a 3.5/5 mainly because the first half of the burger was quite salty. I was sharing it so it was 2 BIG salty bites per person to get to the half way point. After that it was AMAZING and evenly flavored (that was the flavor profile I remember and enjoyed when it was still only in the East Coast). I will say that Shake Shack has always had that greasy factor that makes it taste great, but wouldn't want to come as often as I do for In-n-Out burgers (don't hate y'all!) - Crinkle cut fries - it was thick cut, slightly crispy, and salty as well. Would have loved for it to be crispier where you hear the CRUNCH when you take a bite. I'd give this a 3.5/5 - Dubai chocolate pistachio shake - 5/5 ALL THE WAY! This was AHHHHHMAZING. This was the first time seeing the chocolate shell...when you squeeze the sides you see the chocolate crack and the milkshake flow through. I would HIGHLY recommend this shake and will be coming back for this again (mind you, it's 1080 calories!!!) Quantity and quality: 4/5 all three items were pretty large in quantity and quality of the meal was solid. Staff and ambiance: location was very clean and staff was friendly Price: My go-to is normally In-n-Out where the price is half the cost of one Shack double ($10.49 without tax). Overall I'd give this experience 4/5, but in all honesty the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake weighted the rating higher.

Yelp
Shake Shack Westgate is not as crowded, so parking is plentiful around the area. The store is clean and spacious. My wife and I had BOGO deals for a SmokeShake: a quarter pound of 100% Angus beef with American cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, ShackSauce on a potato bun. In addition, we also got some fries to share at the table which I ordered at the kiosk. Fries: Crinkle Cut Fries (3.5/5) Black Truffle Crinkle Cut Fries: dusted woth parmesan cheese and served with black truffle sauce (4/5) No pictures of my food as I was too busy catching up with my friends before the movie. :(

Yelp
The place was clean and welcoming. The food was also delicious and came fast. The service was great and no complaints. The cheese fries are def a must get

Yelp
It was a little slow for a fast food place. We waited around 20 minutes for our food to come. The good thing is they bring the food to your table. However, I don't think it is a very good system since the worker have to go around and find our number even for to-go order. This can be very time consuming for them. The food was ok. The burger was good for half of it, I have to admit the meat is very good. I can taste the meat which is rare for a fast food burger place. I am just not a fan of buns in general. The chicken sandwich was good. Just like any other chicken sandwich with pickle. The Dubai Chocolate Shake was underwhelming, it might had sit on the counter for a while since it was half melted. The kaffir was crunchy and added a nice texture. I cannot taste the pistachio from the shake itself but there were pieces of pistachio on top. The Mango Passionnade was the only one thing that is really good. Overall, I would rather go to Mendochino farm next door

Yelp
Had a chance to try the Shake Shack which newly opened in the Westgate Mall and enjoyed my experience. This is a fast food restaurant vibe where you order at the kiosk and then will get your number called out to get your food. Service was pretty fast and thankfully we got our food pretty quickly. We ordered the truffle burgers which were really yummy and well flavored. I love the flavor of the Gruyère cheese and truffle sauce which really differentiated this burger from others. We also got a side of cheese fries which came hot and the sauce was thick and yummy. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would go back!

Yelp
I am a fan of Shake Shack and I have been going to the Valley Fair location for several years now. When I found out that there is a location at Westgate Center, it's more convenient and easy to park and walk right in. I ordered one of my favorites, the chicken shack, chicken bites, crinkle cut fries and a Coke. I feel like this location is much different than the Valley Fair location and other locations I've been to. It doesn't have that New York vibe or that Shake Shack feeling. Normally I would get a text message to let me know that my order was ready but I did not. I went up to the register and found out that my order was sitting there for a while. The crinkle cut fries tasted like they were cooked an hour before and we're sitting around for a while. Also, the chicken bites were mostly batter and hardly any chicken and the chicken shack tasted a bit off as well. But big points to the staff, all were friendly and kept the restaurant looking clean and tidy. On the next day, I went to the Valley Fair location and I can totally tell the difference that the food quality at the Valley Fair location is much better and also the decor as well. If you look at the inside of both locations, you'll definitely notice some big differences. But anyways, it's mainly about the food quality and I hope that the Westgate location can improve.

Yelp
I've been to the particular Stake Shack a handful of times and they're always seems to be a lot of employees working and they always seem very busy. Surprisingly so they all look like teenage/college students and since I'm terrible at chaos, I can go up to an actual register and order with a person vs a kiosk. My food was always accurately set up as well as in a reasonable time. When I ask questions to the different cashiers, they all seemed to know about the menu items and could describe what or what. This particular location is really new and it's very clean with a lot of glass windows around so I like all the natural lighting. I also love those organic lemonade! The only withdrawal I would say about this particular location is that it's in a mall and there's a lot of people coming and going so parking can be somewhat cumbersome if you're just trying to get takeout food. I will definitely be back here again, and I love that they have deals on chicken sandwiches on Sundays!! I can buy one chicken sandwich and get one for my son for later! Two for one!!

Yelp
I've never had a Shake Shack burger so when this location opened in my neighborhood I I had to give it a try. Parking is a slight challenge since the lot is shared with the Westgate Mall but I got lucky and found one pretty close. Since the location just opened, it's light bright and clean. They have kiosks to place your order which isn't my favorite but I know that's the current trend. Although, they do have a register at the front if you're more comfortable placing your order that way. The kiosks are easy to use and pretty straight forward. I selected my burger, customized it and ordered my milkshake. The staff were very friendly and the wait for my order wasn't long at all. I took mine to-go so by the time I got home, my mouth was watering from the delicious smell. Here's what I ordered: Avocado Bacon Burger w/added spicy peppers, crispy onions, lettuce and tomato : I liked everything about this burger but especially the spicy peppers. I really liked those however the rest of the burger was just kinda average. Produce was really fresh and the bun held up to all the extras I added. Apple Cider Donut Shake : This was really good and the ice cream was perfection. This was a 10 out of 10 for me. Overall I enjoyed both items and will absolutely be back for that milkshake before the season ends.

Yelp
It's a pretty good place if your into Shakes, Burgers and Fries! I actually like this place which opened on October 16, 2024, at the old Men's Wearhouse location, 1640 Saratoga Ave, San Jose, CA 95129-Westgate. It is a self service restaurant where you walk in, order through the kiosk (see picture) and wait for the for the food to be delivered. Since this was my second time here, I wanted to interact with the employees behind the counter. Each person I talked with was extremely polite, helpful and knowledgeable about the product. The manager was visible, ready to resolve any issues that could come up. So over the 2 days I visited I had the burger, chicken sandwich, lemonade, french fries and vanilla malted. Everything was really good but I found the milkshake to be a rich and creamy as compared to others I've tried. Being a new restaurant, everything was new and very clean. Lots of great seating with an outdoor patio. The ambience was open to everyone, including families. Overall, Shake Shack is a place you should visit and prepare yourself for a good time.

Yelp
Way overpriced for a tiny burger. Even the double patty was disappointing. We came in a little before the lunch rush- there were no people in front of us. The food arrived about 15 minutes after our order. I was expecting hot food and a premium burger for the price we paid. The burger we got was tiny and the fries were not fresh. A single leaf of limp lettuce and sad looking tomatoes. Weak! The worst was the chicken sandwich. Used to be pretty good but their quality control at this shack must be down. Thing was wafer thin. I would have given them 2 stars- but the manager quickly made things right so adding a star for that. IMO save your money and get 3 double doubles (if you want) for the same price.

Yelp
Glad they were able to open one outside of Santana Row! The food here has been consistently good! Never really have an issue with food quality from Shake Shack. Even though I normally love a beef burger, the vegetarian portobello mushroom burger is my fav! Also you really can't forget getting a shake, they are sooo good! Service is great here! They have people at the cash registers ready to go, as well as kiosks you can just order from. However when you order for takeout, instead of calling out a number or name, they try to look for you and give you your order.. hope that makes sense! The restaurant itself is nice! It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and seems to be really clean which is nice!

Yelp
So I've ordered twice via UberEats and once last night for pick up, and this location seems to always forget something in the order lol. With my first order they forgot the fries, which are so so good when they're fresh, in the 2nd order they just forgot some dipping sauce so it's not THAT big of a deal, but last night they also forgot the dipping sauces. The shakes are good. My friends said the burgers were okay. I enjoy the chicken and k love pickles but they make the sandwich so soggy. Last night was a bummer because apparently my friends never received the text that the food was ready or made obvious that it was done so by the time we got it it was kinda cold.

Yelp
This shake shack is new and clean. I ordered on the app so the food was ready on arrival. I barely talked to anyone. The food was actually better than I expected. The black truffle burger was tasty and well cooked. It was tender but not greasy. The truffle flavor was obvious but not overpowering. The chicken bites were a decent up-leveled chicken tender. They were tiny for the price point. The fries are from the grocery store freezer isle. I'm not really a fan of this. Really they're better than iniBurger but not as good as the Stand.

Yelp
Our go to hamburger joint. Clean restaurant. Service is friendly. I love the kiosks rights when you walk in. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
Did their burgers shrink? I swear I was here in March and their burger was bigger. We ordered the the BBQ burger with fried pickles and got the free avocado bacon burger with their promo code. I'm pretty sure this burger was the size of a old happy meal burger from McDonald's in the 2000's. This time around it was so small even my girlfriend complained asking if it shrunk. For $12 it's definitely not worth it for this mediocre burger. I'd also like to add that the new fried pickles were not a hit, the breading fell off so easily and had not much of a bite to it. The can't say I would come back here again The place though was very clean and well maintained!

Yelp
Ordering online was a cinch, and everything was ready at pickup, no problem. Plenty of parking at this restaurant location as well as a ton of seating for dining in (both indoor and outdoor tables in a casual setting). Got the shack stack and crinkle cut fries, and these items were made perfectly, consistent product so I always know what to expect. The fries hot and crispy with just a hint of salt, so good, no ketchup needed. The burger stacked with delicious ingredients, soft potato bun, fresh tomato slices, juicy beef patty, lots of gooey melted cheese from the portabello 'shroom (the muenster and cheddar combo is definitely unique and addicting)... easily my favorite item at Shake Shack. I'm happy with my recent visit to the Westgate restaurant.

Yelp
Ordered the double shack burger, crinkle fries, chicken bites, and a kiwi lemonade. Everything was delicious and filling. The burger was meaty and juicy and I enjoyed the soft potato bun. I also liked the fact that with every bite, the burger didn't fall apart--the bun has a slight closure at the back that keeps everything together. Crinkle fries and chicken bites were both fried to perfection. The chicken bites were nice and tender. This was my first time ever trying kiwi lemonade and it was really refreshing and not too sweet. My bf got the avocado bacon burger and he enjoyed it as well! This spot is spacious and ordering is on a kiosk which was very easy to use and navigate through. If you're dining in, you get a number and find yourself a seat while you wait for an employee to deliver your food. Service was great and I like how they check up on you making sure everything is ok.

Yelp
Heard a lot of about Shake Shack but never had the chance to try; happy that we now have a Westgate location nearby. As soon as we got out of the car, the grilled burger aroma in the air made us more hungry; the place is spacious, clean, modern and very pleasant. Ordered a double black truffle shack stack , a shack burger and one order of fries. The gentleman brought over our food in less than 10 minutes. A young woman was busy cleaning the tables, service was good. Both burgers were very tasty, the meat patties were well grilled with the delicious caramelized crust. The Black truffle flavor was prominent, onions were crispy; fries were good/OK. Hubby was quite happy with his double burger, gobbled it down in no time and wished it's a little bigger and also come with some vegetables. I'm not much a burger person but did enjoy mine a lot. We will be back again when the next burger craving hit.
google avatar

Yelp
The place is clean and lots of seats. There are lots of kiosks and the main counter to order from. I tried the kiosk and it was easy. Service was good and it being a new location had 2 different people walk by asking how we are doing. The bathroom was odd that there is only 1 sink in a very long table to wash hands. The burgers are lacking for the prices you have to pay. You can take a look at pics and decide for yourself. The buns are good and moist being potato bread. The loaded fries are good. I've been to other shake snacks before. The shakes are good. I'd pass on the burger next time.

Yelp
Flavor of this location is pretty on par with other Shake Shack locations. This location specifically looks super spacious and very clean. Plenty of seating options and the windows make it feel bigger. Food came out relatively quick to our table and super fresh. The parking at this location is easy as well.

Yelp
This location is way better than the one on Bascom (Bascom gave me cold/stale fries even if I order in person lol) My food is always hot at this spot. They don't have a kiosk but the staff is friendly and food is fresh! This is my fave Shake Shack location in San Jose. I LOVE the shroom burger and mind you I do not like eating vegetarian things haha The beef burgers are so good (haven't tried chicken yet) and I love their spicy fries. About time they added some heat to the menu! Not sure if they serve the Poochini for my dog as it's not advertised anywhere inside :(
google avatar

Deanna L.

Yelp
This place is your standard burger/fry joint. Burgers were ok but nothing life changing. Fries were about the same, but slightly better. Price? Way too much for what you got. Overall I would not recommend this burger place. Separately I really did not care for the aesthetic in the place as there were no pictures or decor. I got heavy cafeteria vibes.

Yelp
Was a craving a burger and boom! Shake Shack right there staring at me. I came here with my friend and sister for dinner after our workout class. It is located at west gate plaza so plenty of parking in the lot. They had self ordering on the kiosk, and we can just take a number after ordering. It's nice because there isn't rlly much contact with the waiter so I would recommend for the shy girlies and boys hehe. There is plenty of seating too!! I wanted to try the shroom burger as it was one of their popular items. My friend got the truffle onion burger and my sister got the shake shack og burger. All were super yummy, but if I were to be back, I would be back for the shroom burger!! It was super crispy and cheesy, and it just compliments the burger overall. I love how the fries were nicely crispy and delicious too, it beats in n out fries forsure.

Yelp
Really great burgers!!!! Nice smash burger with a great crust. Solid fresh fries in a fun place.

Yelp
We had been wanting to visit Shake Shack for quite a while and finally made it down yesterday afternoon. The burgers were pretty good but such a small bun for such an expensive price. My problem is with my shake. I ordered the banana pudding shake, and there was no banana in it. Not a smidgen of a taste of banana. They had these crunchy things on top and in the shake. One was so hard I couldn't even bite it and I'm thinking is this supposed to be the Nilla wafers? I should've gotten up and said something, but I just didn't feel like hassling and to tell you the truth I kept waiting, thinking that at the bottom of the shake, it would taste like banana. It never did. I doubt we'll come back. I mean really? It was just a banana pudding shake, but I think they made something else. After I left, I got a stomachache. Where were the bananas?

Welcome to the area Shake Shack. This location has a well-lit indoor dining area with self service kiosks and some outdoor seating as well. The food came out fast and was yummy. I am a fan and enjoyed the black truffle mushroom burger and crinkle fries.

Yelp
I would rather go to Valley Fair, Bascom or Palo Alto if I wanted Shake Shack. This is one of the new locations that opened up and the outside looks nice. Interiors looked clean and bright. There were several kiosks available to place an order. Staff were friendly. Food was good and we didn't wait too long. The low stars is for the sewage odor that permeated the restaurant. We sat next to the ketchup and garbage area but it wasn't those that caused the stench. It was the bathroom. It wasn't someone blowing it up either. It was inside the restroom that came out of the hallway and to parts of the restaurant. The women's restroom didn't even have any odor spray. It was so bad, I was spraying my perfume on me so I didn't gag.

Yelp
New location!! The shake stack burger w/ the crispy cheesy portabello mushroom in the middle is to die for. I got the parm fries w/ truffle dipping sauce and if you're a truffle lover like me... RUN DON'T WALK!! SO freaking good.

Yelp
Burgers are good.. parking is ample... plenty of seating... personally I am not a fan of the self ordering... but thats just me. Food does come out semi fast.

Yelp
This location is spacious and bright. Service is great. Just wish the to-go orders have a cover/lid for the food. Food gets cold much faster without a cover and only in the bag.

Yelp
I can not begin to say how wonderful this location is. I tried to place an order for my office, about 15 people, and the website kept blocking my card and customer service was no help. When I got there I was frantic and wanting to get this order as soon as possible, but I did not think that it was possible. Andrew and another gentleman not only prepared my order in less than 20 minutes, but they also labeled each of the burgers so that it was easier to identify which was which. These two definitely need some recognition.

Yelp
I don't get why this location has some bad reviews. Compared to other burger places in the immediate area (Five Guys, Super Duper) , I think they all run about the same, with Five Guys being slightly pricier. So it all comes down to personal preference on the type of burger you want. If you want a bit of a smash burger, then go to Shake Shack. I personally think Shake Shack burgers are tastier. My kids love the crispy crinkle fries. The reason Shake Shack at Westgate beats them all is customer service. I take my kids here almost every week because it's a quick dinner before all their activities. This location consistently has good customer service. They have never messed up an order, the manager is always super nice, and every other worker I've encountered has been very helpful.

Yelp
- Burgers: We ordered a black truffle burger and a ShackBurger. Both very juicy, hot, and perfectly seasoned and cooked. - Fries: Black truffle parmesan fries were plain fries dusted with parmesan cheese and served with an amazing umami truffle dipping sauce. - Thai iced tea shake: Creamy with a decent Thai tea flavor - Service: We dined in, and it was very clean inside. The service was friendly, as WE made a mistake with our order and they graciously helped us to resolve it. 100% coming back and would order each of those items again.

Yelp
It's costs ~$70.00 for 2 people to eat here and almost every time we have ordered or eaten here, there is something wrong with the order. I don't understand the consistent incompetence. If you're using my review for reference, PLEASE CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE WITH IT!

Yelp
I've heard really good things about this place, so I decided to try it because I knew it was close to where I was. I decided to try the cheeseburger, the way it comes, with an order of French fries. Service was excellent and the girl at the counter was very polite and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and the overall ambience was inviting. I'll definitely go back and try the other items.

Yelp
Our group had a Double Black Truffle Burger, two Shack Stacks, a Double SmokeShack, two Cheeseburgers, and three orders of fries. We ordered at the self-service kiosk. The burgers tasted good. The produce on them was fresh. I felt like the meat was a little undercooked; I'm not looking for my burger to have that much pink. I guess next time I need to select "well done" when ordering. Big strike here: one of the Shack Stack burgers (cheeseburger topped with a Shroom Burger) was completely missing the Shroom Burger half. Getting the order right matters. The "shack sauce" is like a flavored mayo. I like that it can be served on the side instead of on the burger. The fries underwhelmed. Crisp enough, but at $6 for a small basket, it has to be miles better than other chains' fries, and these were not. Which brings me to the prices/value. All but the most basic burgers cross the $10 line. Fries start at $6... maybe this is to encourage the upsell to the dressed fries, but come on. Portions aren't huge either. Service was good. An employee came by and offered to clear our trays and trash. Food: 3.5 stars Value: 2 stars Service: 4 stars Overall: 3.25 stars P.S. To the Yelp Search engineering team: why doesn't searching "Shake Shack" near 95129 find this? I bet most users don't think to search "Shake Shack Westgate" specifically. Partial text match please.

Yelp
In a land of burger joints, this serves them too. The burgers are smash style, and a bit salty. The buns are technically brioche, but just kind of dissolve. Skip the shack sauce unless you're a fan of miracle whip. The fries are also ok, and could do with not being cooked in the same oil as the onion rings. The shake is worth the time, though, since it is a custard base and not overly sweet. Fortunately, the store is clean and comfortable with a friendly and attentive staff. Again, not horrible, not breath taking. It's a burger.
