It was New Years Day about 9 pm and it was busy. Service was friendly, line moved pretty fast. Lots of options but went with a simple malt with m&m and the kid had a root beer float. It was great.

Google
This shop is so adorable. Their ice cream is the best! They have so many options to choose from. The line was long but it’s very enjoyable. There’s a small little area to sit and wait and it’s just so cute. It’s also near the beaches and hotel so it’s a good little walk to enjoy Treasure Island while eating the ice cream. Also, the prices is SUPER reasonable. Check this place out whenever you visit Treasure Island.

The Non Roti Maker

Local people. Local hospitality. Amazing shakes. Every body who works at the shop are nice and friendly. Cant beat their prices and taste. I sometimes drive 25 miles just to get a shake from this place. Not to sweet and not too cold. That to me is rarity.

Google
Very tasty soft serve. Very limited seating in a super small corner. Service is a little slow, but it’s only 2 people taking orders & payment and making the soft serve 🍦. As tourists we didn’t leave here thinking “we need to come back again!” and we’d probably try another place that’s a couple blocks away just for variety.

Google
Ice Cream treats after dinner? This is the spot, you'll probably notice the line of people. Why? Because it's that good. Sundaes, shakes, or just plain ice cream, you really can't go wrong. Prices are fair, dress is casual, and staff is friendly.

Google
Cool place, and the soft serve is the best I've ever had! May be the day I went, but there was trash around the picnic tables that they should keep addressed. Also thought it was really cool that they have a lift to get up to deck for anyone in a wheelchair. Will definitely be back!

Google
My favorite place to stop when I’m cruising around the area on my motorcycle. I always get the Viennetta as it reminds me of one of my favorite ice creams I used to eat in Germany. The young lady at the shop is always very friendly and the ice cream is very good. Not quite sure what the recent review is all about where someone is referring to the consistency of whipped cream. Isn’t that what soft serve is all about? Fluffy soft whipped ice cream? 🤔 Oh well might be a personal preference but the “whippier” the better for me. Also love the fact that it’s just a short walk from the beach. I always grab my Viennetta, walk to the beach and eat it while enjoying the view. Go support a local business and enjoy ☺️ Much better than any of the chains.

Google
Shake shop is our go to every time we visit Johns Pass. No ice cream shop comes close. Their mocha shake is one of my favorites and the heavenly hash is a must have as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The shake shop was right behind our vacation rental so we visited several times. During one of our visits, one of the kiddos really wanted bunches of cherries. The server was more than happy to offer my niece, a cup full of cherries, which completely turned her around and made her beyond happy.

Yelp
Soft ice cream! Best on the beach! There is always a line and that is because it is so good. I got a small sundae with choc ice cream and marshmallow. Delicious!

Yelp
After a not so delicious meal, we decided to hit the shake to redeem our pallets. The shake shop never disappoints. My companion ordered the strawberry milkshake, which was incredibly flavorful and full of strawberry chunks. I ordered the chocolate chip milkshake and was pleasantly surprised by the use of "magic shell" in the cup. This is your typical old school ice cream stand. Great prices and great ice cream. The staff was very friendly, and were sitting on the picnic tables behind the shake shop to enjoy our shakes in about a minute. The line can get long during tourist season, which is a testament to their fair prices and great ice cream. Definitely worth a stop. Well, the stairs can be intimidating. There is wheelchair access on the back in a lift. Parking is limited but the crowd moves fast.

Timmy G.

Yelp
Great employees and great service line gets long after 8 o'clock and it will take approximately an hour to get through the line if it was past the stairs.

Yelp
The shake shop is your absolute perfect beach day ice cream stop!! They have a very extensive ice cream menu, but few food items. We tried the Vienetta sundae, a chocolate shake, and a root beer float, all were fantastic! The ice cream has great flavor as is so creamy! As an FYI, the only food the serve is hot dogs, no choice in toppings, but they give you ketchup, relish and mustard packets. This place is a one or two man show, so if ordering with a large group it might take some time. We went during the lunch hour, so we were the only ones in line, but late at night to line can be VERY long.

Yelp
Meh. This place always has a line out the door so my husband and I decided to give it a go. I wasn't impressed. It's fine. There's so many superb ice cream places around here, that this is just so not worth it. Maybe it's a tad more convenient to the beach than others but just don't do it. Walk across the street and go get some stellar options! The server was kind and it tasted fine. But that's it. It was just fine.
google avatar

Jodi S.

Yelp
Very friendly service. Went 2x in one day!! I love vanilla milkshakes and this one was a 10/10!!! Only reason for 4 stars is we went back tonight and it was all dark.
google avatar

Bill S.

Yelp
When it's 95 degrees outside, anything cool is refreshing. That being said, I'm not understanding the five star Yelp reviews. I had a nice ice cream from a pleasant server but I'd like to break it down: Heavenly Hash: Soft serve ice cream in a cup Mini Marshmallows out of a bag Nuts out of a bag Hershey syrup poured over the top and sides Now top with Redi whip and your GTG. $6 please If you think that's a 5 star experience, let me make you an $11 sandwich. First, Wonder Bread...

Yelp
Located conveniently next to where we were staying in Treasure Island, Shake Shop was exactly the place we were looking for when we were craving ice cream! I was happy with my chocolate soft serve, and they had some great options.
google avatar

Yelp
The perfect beach treat. Why aren't these flavor combos served more places? My husband had a cookie shake and loved it. I had one of their "small" special sundays and added a cookie topping. The Sunday had hard shell chocolate on top. Simple but delicious idea.
google avatar

Beth H.

Yelp
If you are staying in the area, you must stop at the shake shack. They are fast, and affordable. Don't be surprised if there is a line. They are that good. Small parking lot but be patient as people are always pulling out. The banana split cup was perfect size for my hubs. I had a Hawaiian shake w pineapple and coconut. Very filling and such a nice treat. Unique spot to take the family for a cool treat.
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
We went here four times, during our week long vacation. The sundaes and shakes were awesome as always. The prices are also incredibly reasonable.
google avatar

Staci L.

Yelp
We had banana splits in a cup. They have lots of toppings. The two girls in there worked their tails off. Great place to stop for a Sweet treat .

Yelp
Me and my family had this yesterday and it was so good. I got a cookie milkshake and they got the heavenly hash, which both were amazing and I can't wait to try this again. The employees were very friendly and talkative which Is super great being that we're visiting.
google avatar

Autumn G.

Yelp
The cutest little place with the sweetest girls working! Amazing service and very inexpensive for a tourist town! Open late with delicious ice cream! So delicious, highly recommend!
google avatar

Tombo L.

Yelp
I recommend this place to anyone that is in treasure island Florida and i highly recommended it
google avatar

Luis C.

Yelp
Friendly and VERY QUICK service! Definitely tip the students who work there. I ordered a vanilla, cherry, and coconut milkshake. There was 3 orders before me and still managed to get my milkshake in less than 3 minutes. Definitely support this small business! You will understand why it's been so popular since 1997!
google avatar

Rick W.

Yelp
What can I say? Great milkshakes! I got a peanut butter/banana milkshake while Danielle played it safe w/ a strawberry shake. Both were delicious.
google avatar

Dila C.

Yelp
Delicious soft serve, creamy, milky with yummy hot fudge! They also have a variety of milkshakes. There is parking as well as benches to sit on. Portions are generous, service is plenty pleasant:) we will be back again and again:)

Heather R.

Yelp
My niece is allergic to peanuts. When my sister ordered my niece's ice cream they closed the windows and wiped everything down. this insured that she wouldn't have any contamination with nuts. Thank you for being amazing and making sure that she was safe! We have also loved this place before that!
google avatar

Brig A.

Yelp
I was staying at the Residence Inn, right next door and was excited to get ice cream from here every night, but after going once, I just wasn't really impressed. The bummer is that it is such a cool place. It is really boutique looking and the employees were super friendly, but the ice cream was just so blah. So disappointing. I know my ice cream.
google avatar

Gabriela P.

Yelp
Completely unimpressed, will not return. After I finished my ice cream, I thought it wasn't worth it and would have been happier saving my calories or going else where. Very underwhelming. Their soft serve "ice cream" is not great, average at best. I got it with hot fudge and caramel sauce. The young staff at the window is also not as friendly/happy as you would expect at an ice cream place.
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
Best soft serve ice cream! It's creamy with almost a marshmallow-like texture Many yummy toppings available such as strawberry, caramel, hot fudge and peanut butter among others. Full confession, for the past seven years, I have always gotten the peanut butter sundae. The salty sweet combo checks all of my boxes. The staff is always friendly and appreciative of cash tips. It's so good that occasionally there is a long line. I think it's worth the wait and I've never been disappointed.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
This is a great little ice cream and shake place, we have a condo next-door at Sunset Vista And have been coming here for years with our kids. They change the owners a few years back but the ice cream is still great especially after being on the beach all day, would definitely recommend it, but bring cash I don't believe they take credit cards any longer.
google avatar

Stacey O.

Yelp
Low key place to grab a a tasty shake, ice cream or banana split! We had that banana split in the boat which was huge but really good. The banana malt shake was also really good. We didn't have to wait long for our orders and there is some park bench seating. It's all outdoors.
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
This is a walk up window for soft serve ice cream. We had our grand daughter in a stroller so we had to carry it up the stairs. We ordered a peanut butter sundae and shared it. She loved it! I think she probably ate more than we ate!! It was creamy and delicious. It's definitely a great place for a treat.
google avatar

Jordan H.

Yelp
Great little spot and there actually a beach access hidden at the end of the street. Ice cream and walk to sunset with the family. Busy.

Ethan L.

Yelp
Best milkshake I have had in a long time!!!! Cheap and delicious, not too heavy of a milkshake. Good consistency. I had the pistachio shake and was OBSESSED

Ilsa K.

Yelp
Fantastic soft-serve ice cream shop with a smile! Our party has some food allergies, and our questions were attended to with courteousness and compassion. Many tasty treats for those with egg, peanut and almond allergies!
google avatar

Leta B.

Yelp
We love to stroll to the Shake Shop!! The soft serve is amazing!!! They give big potions of delicious ice cream, shakes and sundaes!!
google avatar

Knd E.

Yelp
Cute little place that seems to really value their employees which is awesome! Strawberry shortcake sundae was awesome along with the Vienetta. Definitely worth a stop!
google avatar

Yelp

Yelp
2017's Yelp 100 Challenge 80/100 "Ice cream for breakfast!" was what my mouth said. My boyfriend obliged, and we searched around until we drove by this place and I screamed that we must go back. They have way too many flavors for me to remember, but I tried the strawberry shortcake AND the butterscotch royale, and the shortcake actually had cake and real strawberries. It was fantastic. At $7 for two, cheaters breakfast I've ever had. They don't accept cards, so make sure you have cash, or you can walk across the street to circle K.

Danford W.

Yelp
haylee was great and helpful the ice cream was also delicious i got a large banana shake and enjoyed it very much the wait was a little long but you could tell haylee and anna were working extremely hard to get through the line as fast as possible. very much enjoyed it will be back!

Alanna L.

Yelp
This place was AMAZING!! Best customer service I've ever had !! I have an allergy and they did everything in their power to make sure there was no cross contamination. I Shake Shop!!
google avatar

Deonte L.

Yelp
This place was pretty dope! Soft serve ice cream so don't go looking for that traditional homemade style but I tell you what, I had a peanut butter, banana and chocolate milk shake that I'd definitely go back for. I'd go if you want a good shake but not so much for ice cream.
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
Great place for a treat. Parking available and walking distance to the beach. They have milkshakes, cones, sundaes. Servings are more than expected.
google avatar

Katie T.

Yelp
Love this place, a treasure on the beach for sure! This place serves sundaes, speciality ice cream treats, floats and shakes. The shakes are usually thick and the sundaes are great! The ice cream is nice and thick. I would say the signature sundae is their Vienetta. It has waffle cone in it with twist ice cream and dip cone that hardens. So good! They do have about 10 stairs to get up to the order platform. There is no downstairs. They seem to have a lift but I'm not sure that it works, it looks like it is more so a storage place - but I'm not entirely sure! There are a few random chairs and benches but from what I've seen most people order and leave. The do get busy from time to time so just be mindful that there are usually only two people working. Parking is somewhat limited but people don't seem o st Try the banana split in a cup - it's to die for!
google avatar

Sandra F.

Yelp
Omg! The cutest and cheapest shake shop I've ever been to! You can't get any better than this! Shakes made the real and right way (100% whole milk, syrup-depending on what they are making)!! Warning... Only accept cash but very cheap. You order at the window and you can watch them make it. Very small joint but fast! Depending on the size, prices range to $3.00 to $4.75. My friend got a small Mocha shake and I got a small butterscotch sundae for $6.00. Both were so good!!! A must go when you are in the Treasure Island area!!!
google avatar

Brian Y.

Yelp
Nice old time feel ice cream shop. Strawberry split was amazing! Kids loved the options and service was fast even though it was busy
google avatar

Kali G.

Yelp
This was directly infront of the hotel we were staying at so we used the opportunity to bribe our children with a fun sweet treat if they behaved all day. The did wonderfully and earned their treat, the line was weirdly long, I was pretty shocked we had to wait for 20 mins for a milkshake. I am so used to Texas were this stuff is pretty common and service is crazy fast. We waited and the deserts were good. We would def go back if we ever stay on Treasure Island again. Worth the trip but if you have littles maybe have an adult go and wait in line while the kids get to play, its just hard for littles to wait that long on stairs and not get the wiggles.

Shandra P.

Yelp
Sooooooo good!!! I went to this place twice on vacation! I had the strawberry shortcake milkshake! I'm not a big sweets person so this was pleasantly surprising. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Shake Shop shimmied its way to one of my top places for soft serve ice cream in the Tampa bay area. On a drizzly day during a beach trip, I was happy to have the respite of a covered ice cream window shop. Descending the steps to the walk-up counter and a covered waiting area I was WOWed by the picture menu displaying their sweet selections. A soft serve ice cream spot, the menu included a plethora of liquid toppings, and also offers sundaes (including banana split), regular and waffle cones, soda floats and shakes. The standard ice cream is light and airy in texture. It can be dressed up in a variety of ways or enjoyed alone. I found the prices to be very reasonable and the product quite good. The attendant was very friendly and efficient at her job and had a smile on her far the whole time. SS is cash only so be sure to hit the ATM if you are devoid of cash. I look forward to hitting Shake Shop next time I'm in the area and wanting a sweet treat

Audrey A.

Yelp
We are long time vacationers to this specific area and a trip isn't complete without a stop (or let's be honest, five) at the shake shop. We've tried almost everything on the menu and we've never ever been disappointed.
google avatar

Chad M.

Yelp
I have been here several times and I like this small elevated shake shop, as it has the feel of a small town mom-n-pop ice cream shop and the service is good and the cold treats are sweet! The prices are decent and the portion size is large and filling. Come here day or night for a tasty cold treat. Parking can be a bit scarce, but the location is easy to find.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Great ice cream, great service. Hats off to those two girls running the shop tonight. We counted around 30 people ahead of us and about the same in line behind us by the time we got to the deck. They didn't miss a beat, friendly and efficient and accurate. Ice cream was really creamy and great options on a fairly limited menu.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
It's close to the rental. That's all I got. Nothing special. Nothing wrong either. Just your average "ice cream" shop.
google avatar

Angelie C.

Yelp
All of the reviews and pictures people posted looked amazing. However, this led to an anticlimactic experience for me. For starters, the cups didn't have nearly enough toppings. If they put ice cream and toppings in layers it would have been so much better. Next, the line here was pretty long. I will say they got through it rather quickly but there was only 2 girls working. The same girl that took the order also made it. It would be so much more efficient with a cashier and at least one runner. My daughter got a peanut butter shake and thought it was great. My husband got banana split and thoUght it was ok. I got a small vienetta cup and it was just ok. I guess it's called shake shop for a reason! Next time I'll get a shake.
google avatar

Houston L.

Yelp
We're staying nearby and we're excited to try the Shake Shop - it definitely lived up to its great reputation! First visit we tried a banana split boat, banana milkshake and (since we're from Georgia) we had to try the new peach shake. All were fantastic! Looking forward to trying some other flavors this week as well.
google avatar

Yelp
We were just driving through and spotted this great little oasis by the beach. We were treated like they were glad we stopped by. The rest was ice cream and toppings and whipped cream. What could be better? Highly recommended.
