Shaking Seafood (Dorchester)

A good, hearty meal. We had the mild shaking sauce with the crawfish, shrimp, mussel combo; the sauce was a bit watered down, but still tasted good. Tasty for the $25 price. The real star of the show was the fried shrimp basket with Cajun fries. Both were super crispy and we would return for this basket! Overall, not best seafood boil we’ve had, but staff was friendly and decor was cute

Loved the garlic noodles. The shrimp and hush puppies were good. My favorite sauce to get with the broil bag is the (hot) shaking sauce. This time around I got either the cajun butter or lemon pepper and didn’t enjoy it as much. Good eats!

i had more than an excellent time coming here, just stellar and phenomenal service. the servers had a lot of knowledge and attention when it came down to us being first time customers and not knowing what to order! interior was beautiful AND bathroom was clean with a nice interior as well, despite being a little tiny restaurant. the food was flavorful and placed out in a timely manner, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. we came in at 9pm but finished eating at 11pm, which we felt really bad about. nonetheless, the staff were generous enough to let us stay past their closing time and didn’t rush us to leave. we tried our best to eat quickly and clean up properly, but we were just shocked at the fact that the service was just really superb for a seafood boil place. i would highly recommend everyone i know to give this place a try!

YUM! I especially like that the headless shrimp are cleaned and easy peel. Comes with a bib and gloves to keep clean. The Dorchestwr location looks very clean and freshly remodeled. Nice staff too.

I always go here and get the catfish or the boil, however today I got the car fish with sweet potato fries and it didn't taste right so I opened the fish and it wasn’t catfish or a bad immitation of it. My recommendation is, don't buy this processes food mess, its not real fish.

The restaurant staff is racist towards the Latino community, especially the cashier, what a lack of "professionalism." I will not eat at that place again.

Shaking Seafood was a very great place to eat! The variety of entrees and choices were very well done. I've been to seafood boils across North America and they had largest selection and variety of food. So 5 stars on the variety. I was there with a colleague from Europe and his two sons. We are until we couldn't eat any longer. They young guys were happy to see there were free refills and took advantage of that for sure. I've never seen someone drink so much soda in my life??!! Lol Everyone was happy with food, the service, and the overall experience. The ambiance is just a normal restaurant. It's small like most restaurants and places in Boston when comparing it to places in the southern parts of the US. Restrooms were clean and tidy. The restrooms were uni-sex. I will definitely go back. They have a fan in us!

Highway robbery Bland food, request my order to go and asked for dinner utensils; nothing was provided. Very small portions for the price.

I came here before. And love the food here. But yesterday (10/23), I order the crawfish from this restaurant. After few hours, I got diarrhea and vomiting. It lasted until 4am. Today my stomach still hurts so bad. I don't know what they put in the crawfish that made me like that. Please check whether the food is fresh or not before serving to customers. I won't ever come back to this restaurant anymore! Never recommend it to anyone!!!!

Smh I should have known when we walked in and were the ONLY customers on a Friday night. I ordered a seafood boil bag and a few hours after I got home I started shivering uncontrollably and had diarrhea and stomach pains all through out the night. It's the next day now and I'm still in pain and feeling weak. Both my daughters woke up with stomach pains and diarrhea as well. If I could give zero stars I would. food is not fresh at all. Crab legs are stringy and shells are difficult to open. And I got the worst food poisoning I've had in my life. They need to shut down this establishment asap!

This first part is mainly for "Mark". He's the one who delivered this to me which he works under Door Dash. My food said it was going to be delivered at 9:50pm. I gave it til 9:55pm to see where my food is. The status said it was delivered at 9:36pm. Not even a phone call to tell me that he's here or anything. My food was sitting outside in the cold for 19 minutes. Smh. Now to the food... 2/5. I'm sorry... I had the Combo 2 which had snow crab legs, New Zealand mussels, and shrimp. I requested for the shaking flavor, EXTRA SPICY. The sauce was so bland, the spice was... what spice? There was no kick or anything at all lol I had to add my own seasonings in.... I won't give up on this place, yet. I will try it one more time. Maybe it's because it's late. ‍ Garlic noodles was bland too... Oh, one more thing. The corn was really bad. The texture was mushy and tasted oddly weird. It must've been old... I took one bite and knew right away...

I loved this small, cozy restaurant. It was pretty busy when we got there and the service was a bit slow. Food was great! The shaking seafood sauce was good. I would recommend getting it mild/medium spicy.

Went inside for dinner. Great experience! The staff were very attentive. Ordered a fried catfish basket and some water. The basket came out in under 10 mins (they were also making orders for pick up). Very hot and fresh! The catfish was perfectly seasoned (not too heavy or light), and fluffy yet still crispy. Once cooled, the flavor of the fish itself was amazing. Didn't have to drown it in Tartar sauce. The Cajun fries were also perfectly seasoned and crispy. Definitely recommend I'd you're in Dorchester!

I ordered through UberEat and the price is way higher but I got an offer that 1 lb of snow crab for free if the order is $60+. I ordered snow crab + shrimps with heads, 1/2 lb of mussels and 1/2 lb of crawfish, and 1 free 1lb of snow crab. 3 bags with their shaking sauce, mild. However, the consistency of the sauce is different, 1 bag is too salty, 1 bag lack garlic, and 1 bag lack sauce. Shrimps aren't fresh and some of the snow crabs had full of meat but a few of them are dried up, it seems they freeze too long. My favorite was the crawfish and corn.

We had a great time at Shaking seafood .. the lobster shrimp potato corn was perfectly cooked and seasoned! They have a parking lot for their customers! Excellent customer service! Highly recommend!

Actually the most delicious seafood boil I've ever had. The shaking sauce is amazing and I can't wait to go back and try other sauces. You can't go wrong with clams, shrimp or crawfish! The sauce soaks in beautifully and all the seafood tasted really fresh. The oysters tasted great! My favorite part are the boiled potatoes. Boiled to perfection and taste amazing with the sauce. Would highly recommend!

Service was fine. There were no other customers in the store. Food was severed fresh and hot. Onion rings were a bad choice. Crab legs were good (husband is a man of a few words. Lol). I got 1/2 shrimp and scallops, all the way. The scallops were tasty. Shrimp were over cooked. The sauce was great. They play pop music. Lots of take out orders while we were there.

I ordered 5lbs of crawfish extra spicy with shaking sauce for take out and had a good experience! Shaking Seafood has good prices and the crawfish were fairly large compared to other seafood boil places I've tried around Boston. The sauce itself was super flavorful - I just wish I had more of it! Shaking Seafood does have the option for you to get extra sauce on the side for dipping which I wish I had totally opted for (will definitely be doing this next time). The seafood doesn't stay hot for too long though so would highly recommend scarfing it down as soon as you can!

[Long overdue] You can't go wrong with anything there. All the seafoods were great, but my favorites were the scallops and shrimp with heads on! The wings and garlic noodles are "must have" side dishes. For those who lower their rating for Shaking Seafood due to Doordash delivery services, the owners have no control that.

This new seafood restaurant in Dorchester didn't disappoint. This place is the only place in Mass that has the most authentic Louisiana flavor. We had to order more crawfish after the first round because it was that good. The oyster was fresh. Highly recommended!

I got a fried shrimp basket with fries. The shrimp was fresh and seasoned well. However, the tempura batter made the shrimp a little crumbly. I was also surprised that coke slaw or salad was not included with basket meal you had to buy as a side dish. Usually, a basket comes with a side salad. Other than this the food was good and customer service was great. Leeza!

Wow! A seafood boil place finally opened up in Dorchester! I came in with high expectations because I am a seafood lover and the food was mighty fine. Food: For the appetizers, I ordered the fried onion rings and the fried oyster basket and it blew me away. I can't remember a time when I had better onion rings. The onion rings were fried to perfection and the fried oysters were no different. The curly fries that came with the fried oysters tasted just like Arby's curly fries! For the entree, I decided to go with the snow crab legs, shrimp head-off, and baby clams with the shaking sauce. The shaking sauce is a combination of cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper. The sauce was so good and the seafood tasted even better. Service: The workers were very friendly and the food came out quickly. They even wiped down the menu with disinfectant wipes every time a customer look at it. This tells me that the workers care a lot about the customers well-being during the pandemic. Will I come again? A hundred percent YES! Shaking seafood in Dorchester is definitely better than some of the other seafood boil restaurants in Boston.

After a 6 miles hiking, my girlfriend and I found this gem! The food is hot and soooo tasty! Basically you can choose a combo with mix of seafood, then they will be served in a plastic bag with butter garlic Cajun sauce! Really to die for! 2 people around $50 with 3 half ponds seafood and 1 full ! I am so coming back!

It was our first time doing a seafood boil and they did not disappoint! Very affordable for seafood and the flavors were on point! Had scallops and crawfish in one bag with all three sauces; shrimp and green mussels in another bag with lemon garlic and butter sauces; fried oysters and hush puppies. All tasted really great--the seasonings were perfect and hit the right heat level for us at "mild." We also appreciated the free refills on drinks. All in all a great experience with friendly customer service.

This place is amazing food so fresh, people so nice. This place deserves 10 stars I've been to others but this place is a must try.

Good and cheap. Some days they give you more some days they don't . Always get hot . They also repeat the order which I like so they won't mess up

Worst seafood bag I have ever had!!! Called to advise what the problem was and was hung up on. Called back was put on hold only to be disconnected two more times! The Roslindale location is way better. My bag barely had sauce, the potatoes were not done, still hard, and the corn was soggy. Very dissatisfied as I've ordered from here before.

This was my first seafood bag boil and it was fun! We took our order home and the seafood was delicious. In particular the sauces and spices were yummy. I love spicy food and this delivered. The seafood seemed fresh and the sides were great as well. I'll definitely go again!

Food was delicious. Everything from the wings to the boiled seafood was excellently prepared. Service was also great and attentive. Ordered the #4 combo with shaking sauce, medium heat, and it was more than enough to share. Can't wait to try it again!

Yum! Food is great, not that many choices so the process of choosing what you want is not so overwhelmingly. There sauce is ok, wish it was more garlicky. The price is also great and reasonable. Only thing is that they don't have LQ to wash it down with. I would choose them over shaking crab in a heart beat!

I drove my food home from Boston to Vermont and it was still good. I cannot wait for them to get crawfish back in season.

As someone who has had clam chowder from 90 seafood places in New England over the past two months I am what you might call an expert on the subject. The utter Gaul of this restaurant to have runny clam chowder is dishonest. Clam Chowder should be more of a thick milkshake consistency rather than the milk consistency of which this Clam Chowder has. With the limited menu of entrees to feed one, after work I ordered the calamari plate. The fried calamari seemed to be microwaved and did not come to my liking.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I was looking forward to the corn on the cob. It was bland. The shrimp basket was okay, the sauce wasn't good at all. The French fries were fresh and tasty. Overall, it could've been better better. But I shall give them their flowers

I like this place ! This is a new place I have just discovered, I really like seafood, the staff here are very friendly and nice, the seafood is fresh, but in my opinion, the seasoning is a bit pale for my taste !!!

Food was fresh except the corn. Other than that I enjoyed the lobster, crab and shrimp back. I got the sauce (everything mixed in one & mild) it was perfect. Definitely give this place a try.

Friend recommended us so we are here ! Place was small but warm and clean ( specially during pandemic). We ordered Fresh Oysters, Special combo Lobster , Crab and Shrimp and add Crawfish , the shaking sauce Hot is the best . Little over spicy for me but my friend said it's perfect! Lobster was fresh of course I can tasted from the meat ( we are good at that) . Also the Garlic Noodle is recommended! Best part is they have owned parking lot ! You gonna see us a lot !

I was here on 08.29.2021 apart of a party of 4 and it was my best friends birthday. We all entered but I didn't have a face mask so I used my shirt instead of being rude and using nothing at all. The Asian man behind the counter wanted to give my company a hard time asking questions like do you have a mask for her and referring to me in the third person. As if we weren't standing together waiting to be seated. He did all this just to have a pile of face masks behind the counter, and didn't even offer me one but wanted to complain that I didn't have one on. It was a very passive aggressive non-professional way to act. As soon as I asked if they provided face masks he reached down and gave me one. I spent over $100 at the establishment the least you can do is provide 99¢ face masks without throwing a temper tantrum.

My husband stumbled upon this hidden gem in Dorchester. Introduced our 13 yr old to cat fish served with sweet potato fries. He asks for Shaking Seafood at least once a week. They have some of the best chicken wings we have ever had. And my favorite, are the garlic noodles with shrimp. They are absolutely delicious. I too could eat this every week. Please don't ever take those off the menu. We have gotten take out mostly, and my son and I ate in one night. The staff is very helpful, we have had great customer service everytime . We love this place!

This was our first time trying this location, we are so glad we did. The portions were good size lobster and crab clusters we added extra sausage and shrimp so good. The only thing was wrong was the extras in each bag they missed the eggs and extra potatoes definitely giving them a pass they were busy, we are looking forward to our next time ordering from here.

Quite tasty boiled shrimp, yummy fried catfish and Cajun fries. The boiled corn was clearly frozen and not good, but that's not really the reason someone would order the seafood boil. Very generous portions for the boil, too. Looking forward to trying the crawfish. I doubt I would stay to eat at the restaurant, but am excited for the carry out!

New restaurant On Dot Ave near fields corner station. Has parking, place is clean, staff is friendly. Decorated nicely for the type of food they serve.

Excellent value for a cajun seafood boil. Gloves were dripping red afterwards, like I had just murdered a beautiful garlicky god of delicious oily seafood. Oysters were some of the meatiest and briniest I've had this side of the Mississippi. Convenient parking and tons of options for either building your own boil, prepackaged individual combos, and group feasts.

I ordered from the Dorchester location last night and I think they gave me old crab legs that's been sitting in water for hours. The crab meat wasn't tender and moist, it was my stringy and the shell was hard to break. Which further proves that they did give me some crab legs that were sitting for a long time. The seasoning was not good either. It's like no one cares about the flavor of the seasoning and just gave me butter with garlic. The garlic noodles are usually my die hard favorite but last night they didn't really season those either. I'm usually the spokesperson for this location because when they first opened, they were DELICIOUS. Now they're going down in quality and flavor. I hope they see all of our reviews and fix it. We finally got a reputable seafood spot in our neighborhood and unfortunately I will not be returning. Why would I spend $40 on old crab flavorless crab legs when I can go elsewhere? If you care about your wallet and taste buds, I suggest you do the same.

The food is soo good!!!!!! Very fresh and not over seasoned at all. It is delicious!!! Better than most seafood restaurants. If I could rate them higher than 5 stars I absolutely would!!!!

Food is consistently good. Reasonably priced. Service is hit or miss but it's a small establishment so it's fairly easy to flag down a server when needed.

Low key place but has to be the BEST seafood broil I've had! We had got the combo with snow crabs & shrimp in their shaking sauce and OMG it was so flavorful!! We also had a order or lemon pepper shrimps, amazing!!! Definitely our new go to place!

Loved everything about this place. Tried it today after driving by and seeing grand opening last week and had to try it. The food was delicious and well priced and I loved my waiter, she was super cute! Definitely will be coming here more often.

First time with my family to dine in, the stuff very friendly . We love this place ,establishment was clean ! Specially the boiled seafood bags we had Crawfish and Shrimp and Lobster all together with shaking sauce Hot spicy , Very tasty ,seafood were fresh ! We definitely will be back again soon ! so glad this place in our neighborhood!
