"Shakou is a popular suburban mini-chain with a reputation for serving high-caliber fish. Under normal circumstances, the dining room is dark and intimate, a place for a date or a celebration with friends. It’s patronized by a more mature crowd who have departed the city for suburban family life. These customers cherish these places because it makes them feel trendy and young. But that would sell the food short. Expect creative maki and a smattering of Chinese and Korean plates. Lunch specials and bento boxes are also available." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman

Ordered shrimp tempura udon, chicken teriyaki, edamame and fried calamari. Tempura udon was sweet which was surprising, and chicken teriyaki was just okay. Will try sushi next time. I love the atmosphere, great sound system, beautiful decorations and lighting.

Shakou is a solid sushi restaurant with plenty of seating. Perfect for large parties. The service is a bit slow, but not unbearably long. I love the Dragon Fire and Black Widow sushi rolls. The bottom side of the rice of the Dragon Fire is pan fried to crunchy crisp. The Black Widow has a large piece of scallop on top. Both rolls were very unique and tasty! I would definitely order this roll again.

This is a nicely decorated restaurant with great atmosphere. The food was only better than average. Service was a little slow. But generally speaking, customers can definitely have good time here.

Celebrated a birthday dinner early on a Saturday night here. The food is pretty good, our server was really amazing, but I’m not sure what this place thinks it is or what they are trying to do. It’s Park Ridge. The place was jam-packed with families on a Saturday night and the music was louder and more bass-driven than some bars. Why? It doesn’t fit the customer base at all. Club music is fine, but why set it at a level that’s not conducive to the group-appropriate setting of the restaurant? Also, it was like 30 degrees outside and the valet kid didn’t have any heating at all. There were at least 3 heating apparatus within 20 feet of the valet stand. Why not move one over for the poor valet kid and also the customers waiting for the cars? Maybe they can trade in one of the speakers in the restaurant to be able to afford keeping a staff member warm outside? Props to our server, she was a delight. Props to the food prep team and cooks, the food was tasty. Boo to ownership.

Google
Shakou is my favorite Sushi restaurant it provides a great family atmosphere as well as a romantic scenario. The staff are great as well they accommodate your every need. As far the sushi is concerned it is the best in my opinion. I recommend the Lobster roll, Green & Fire dragon!

Google
Food was good, not as great as Blu Fin. Gave it one star for service and atmosphere only because they sat us at the very last booth where the speakers were. The music was so loud, I couldn't hear my sister and we had to almost shout to hear what the other was saying. Not a place I would return to again. Definitively better sushi places in town.

Google
It’s a modern Japanese / Asian fusion restaurant - it’s a huge space, blue club-like lighting and loud music. Very clubby atmosphere. The cocktails were excellent, I had a cucumberita which tasted way better than it sounds. For food, we had some shishito peppers to start with, and then sashimi (nice and fresh), a spicy maki roll and the haddock with vegetables. It was pleasant, and the service was attentive, although I did feel they wanted us out fast at the end - we barely finished our dinner and we were still working on our drinks and the waitress just brought out the check unprompted (it wasn’t late and there weren’t people waiting for tables so I didn’t quite understand this but oh well).

Google
Nice chain of restaurants. I've eaten here a few times before the pandemic and ordered online for pickup menu times. VERY yummy! For pickup: Bento boxes FTW. The food is usually cold by the time I get home (10 minutes away) and they almost always forget something in my order. The cold food is easy to deal with since it's still so delicious, but we're all getting annoyed with the not-so-surprising missing food in our order. UPDATE: 3/13/2024 Still ordering pick-up since the last review (many times) and the food and service is pretty spot-on. Nothing missing for a long time and the food is always consistent and very good! Highly recommended.

Yelp
I recently came in for dinner on a weeknight. I was promptly greeted by the hostess and taken to a table. My friend that I was dining with, of course, was running late. I appreciated that Server Elisha continued to check on me. Her customer service was above excellent throughout my visit. I asked her some questions about the menu, and she was very knowledgeable. The atmosphere of the restaurant was almost club like. It felt very clean and welcoming. Portion sizes were decent. Prices were upon average of sushi restaurants in Chicagoland. There was some street parking in front. However, as there are multiple restaurants located on this block, I parked around the corner. I would recommend!

Yelp
This is one of the best spots in PR for dinner. The food is delicious. They have great entree options, a huge sushi menu and the service is fantastic. There is great music in the background that creates a fun vibe for a night out. There is bar seating and the bar staff make good cocktails.

Yelp
I love this place. The first time we came here was back in 2022, and we loved their food, ambiance and service. This time, we came back with my coworkers from California, and they enjoyed this place as well. The decor changed a bit but still had the same nice vibe and food. Always looking forward to going here when we are in Chicago.

Yelp
Instead of offering a free salad with a take out order that is 15-20 minutes late, they should concentrate on getting the order correct and on time. Gyoza were deep-fried (not ordered that way) plus the sauce container was not closed properly and the dish was COLD AND SOGGY by the time we got it home - only a 5 minute drive. They were completely inedible. Ordered a negi - hamachi roll (yellowtail and scallion) and got some random fish with cucumbers. The person bagging the takeout orders kept putting things in bags and taking them out (yes he could be seen from the front of the restaurant) - maybe a little better training there. For the prices they charge, getting 2 things wrong in an order of 7 items is really not a good rate of execution. 2 stars were for the 2 people up front who were handling the backup politely and with grace.

Mary S.

Yelp
We ordered 2 rolls and a measly salad to go. We were told 30 minutes and figured it's a Saturday, early evening, fine. We ended up waiting 50 minutes for our order. There were 11 occupied tables at the restaurant while we waited. Rolls were fine. Salad was garbage, sad to say.

Jessica P.

Yelp
The food was decent but each dish has its quirk. The service was good until the end. We were seated quickly which was great and they allowed us to pick what kind of seating we preferred which I imagine would be different on busy nights. The food wait time was not bad as well, the food came out fairly quick. My mom's ramen was a little too salty for our liking, but it came with a lot of noodles which was cool. My tempura udon was probably the best thing we ordered. The fried rice was good but needed soy sauce for more taste. The only thing that would bring me to come back here is the drinks. I got the lychee cocktail and it was great, great taste, and perfect amount of alcohol. Our server took forever to come back and check us out as she was serving other tables which I understand, but after taking our order and she didn't come back at all.

Yelp
This place deserves a 10/10 on ambiance and food. The customer service could have been a lot better. Our server barely came to our table and we even had to go look for someone to get food and the check. Order: -Lobster sushi - First time trying lobster and it was amazing! -Chicken fried rice - 10/10 -Firecracker Shrimp - 8/10 (a little too sweet for me but still good) -Thai lettuce wraps - 5/10 (didn't meet our expectations) I can't wait to go back and try different dishes.

Yelp
If you don't watch yourself, it's almost too easy to pay a hundred dollars per person at Shakou - sometimes more if you have an expensive taste. Then again, you're paying for the high quality of the sushi and sashimi here. The two rolls I had were the Black Widow and the Niku Niku, both beautifully presented and aesthetically pleasing. It's unfortunate that this restaurant is so dimly lit where it will dilute and dull the wondrous array of colors of the rolls if you don't put your flash on while capturing a photo. It's sushi etiquette to eat each piece in one bite, yet in practice that nicety seems to be quite difficult with the portion sizes here...and if you have a small mouth like I do. Sure, eating it in two bites will make the highly packed rice crumble, but it also leads you to savor and appreciate the detecting subtle flavor and texture. Now, the Black Widow roll was decent, though I was expecting a bigger flavor profile. The fat, sliced scallops that lay on top of each piece adds a bouncy and firm texture, but I wish I could remark more on the taste. Yes, the scallop adds a buttery, delicate, and somewhat sweet flavor, but the entire rolls is disappointing as it didn't meet its potential to be layered with a world of wondrous flavors from the unagi sauce, tobiko, eel, or mayo. If anything, the roll was more memorable with its distinct mouthfeel and presentation. The Niku Niku roll was much more enjoyable, and my favorite from the two. Each bite is soft enough, but when compressed by the act of eating, the NY strip inside rebels with its tough and chewy attribute. The chili oil brings out a nice smoky heat that isn't necessary a burning sensation, but pleasantly spicy. The rest of the ingredients - the avocado, rice, vegetables, and soy paper - are naturally mild where the chili oil becomes the star of the show. All things considered, the classy and upscale atmosphere is appealing for a night out. Still, in terms of flavor profile, BluFish may have a competitive edge in this neighborhood.

Yelp
Came here for dinner during a week night, and it was not too crowded. The ambiance and design of the restaurant was nice. The sushi was delicious, (Volcano signature roll is a must). Chicken Teriyaki was also pretty good. The Bulgogi egg roll was a bit disappointing however, more of a vegetable spring roll than marinated ribeye beef. Staff was attentive and friendly. If you are not familiar with the location, be aware it is street parking and can be a challenge.

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice evening. I went to the Shakou in Naperville a few years ago that has since been shut down. We ordered spicy edamame to start and miso soups which were good. The edamame was VERY spicy and came in a large portion. We stuck to rolls for the evening and ordered the dragon fire (my favorite), ocean drive, and urban heat. The ocean drive roll was my boyfriend's favorite and paired nicely with the two spicy rolls we had and finished clean. Service was a little slower than expected, I had to flag our waitress down a couple times and asked a different waitress about my miso soup but nothing crazy to kill the vibe. Good sushi, it's a bit on the higher end if you're feeling fancy.

Katie B.

Yelp
This place has such a fun atmosphere. I came here after looking for a new sushi place in the area. The service was great and the rolls were unique and delicious!

Yelp
Great posh and swanky place, in the western edge of uptown Park Ridge. Finding street parking on a Tuesday night wasn't too bad. This place is all about modern contemporary design so be careful walking in, as the door and adjoining wall is glass and you don't want to be that guy who walks right into the wall. After you made it past the front glass doors, without smashing your face, you're greeted by the friendly hostess there. The dining area is large, with booths on the left side, tables and chairs in the middle and semi-right, and a large bar area in the right, with a couple of TVs. Not too many, like a Buffalo Wild Wings or Best Buy, but enough to catch up on what the latest sports activity is, while dining and drinking. Our server was really nice, attentive, and explained the specials to us. As of Nov 2022, they are using QR-codes for menus, or they do supply an iPad. We ordered the following: Seaweed salad -- not sure if this was off-menu or not, but I didn't see it on the menu, but the server said it was there. Ordered. It was OK... the seaweed had a sea-taste to it, that was a little overpowered. Served on a bed of lettuce Miso ramen -- we were in the mood for Ramen, so decided to give this a try. They only have one type of ramen, which was this. The ramen had a miso base pork broth with curve egg noodles, topped with fresh bean sprout, fire roasted corn, crunchy bamboo shoot, bok choy, black mushroom and pork belly... which was great! Rainbow roll -- again, my little hack to get a taste of the different sushi... from salmon, tuna, yellow tail. By default, they use spicy tuna, which for an extra $2, we opted for the regular tuna Topped it all off with a couple of yellowtail nigiri, and unagi and the overall dining experience was great!

Yelp
I love the food at Shakou. My favorite is vegetable tempura and sushi. I have eaten there often and everything tastes great with Japanese beer. The ambiance is awesome and the servers are friendly. It's expensive but worth it.

Paulette D.

Yelp
I took my best friend here for her birthday as a surprise, and for it being the first time dining here for the both of us, it did not disappoint. The environment was gorgeous and the food was delectable! The employees were very welcoming and our server was extremely friendly! Totally coming here again.

Laura P.

Yelp
Such an amazing experience. We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was perfect. None of us are sushi eaters so we had ramen, bul go gi, bimim bap and shrimp along with a could of appetizers and quite a few drinks. Beautiful room and excellent service from Juju. It was also surprisingly reasonable for all the things we had. The only thing I would change is that while the music helped to drown out all the conversations Argus, it was just a hair too loud. We will definitely be back!

Stephen M.

Yelp
Love this place! The food is some of the best in Park Ridge. Our waitstaff is always present and always offering us to try new and exciting things. The space is a bit dark but I like it ! Very clean !

Kent A.

Yelp
Cool ambience. Great selection of Asian cuisine. Interesting cocktails. One of my go to places in town.

Nerina B.

Yelp
This place is very nice. The atmosphere is very inviting. It is very big. Plenty of seating. High bar, tables, and booths. There is also a bar to sit at it. The food is phenomenal. We ordered for appetizers the Seven Spicy Ahi - Otg and the Shrimp Tempura. The Seven spicy ahi- delicious. The tuna was so tender and full of flavor. This dish is amazing. The Shrimp Tempera came with shrimp and assorted vegetables, such as carrot, asparagus lightly battered. I loved it cause it was so light and tasty. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. Best sea bass I had in awhile. It was so tender, light, and nicely seasoned. It was delicious. It was a nice thick portion topped with dressed arugula salad on top of assorted green, red peppers and onions. This dish was delightful. I did not care for the peppers, but the sea bass and arugula salad was delicious. I personally would have enjoyed a mashed potatoe or asparagus underneath the sea bass. I didn't think the vegetables complimented this sea bass. That's my opinion. Others may disagree. To each there own. The waitress was really attentive and very nice. She recommended the Scarlet night drink, which was a perfect drink. It was very very good! Overall this is a great place to dine at. The food, service, drinks are spot on! Looking forward to visiting this restaurant again!

Nitu B.

Yelp
Everything was amazing! - food, ambiance, music, staff and even my green tea. Especially the staffers, they were all very attentive and helped me pick their most popular roll- Volcano roll. Decor is so super nice! Nice chandeliers yet modern. Loved their music playlist, it got me in a better mood as I was really tired working all day.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Man they took a dive! got the bento box and the quality of the food has tanked substantially. Did not taste fresh- was cold- super disappointed!

Lisa S.

Yelp
We met 3 other couples for dinner and had a nice long table in the back to accommodate us. However, service was not great and we had to flag our server down continuously to order drinks, food, and get our check. The quality of the food was ok (it definitely felt like a chain) but nothing spectacular.

Blondyne B.

Yelp
Let me first begin by saying, I'm NOT a sushi connoisseur. However, I do like eating cooked sushi. One day I had a sudden craving to eat sushi so I had to think quick...where could I go that's good, clean, and nice to eat-in? Yelp never fails me!! I decided to try this place out as it is less than 10 mins from me. This little area in Park Ridge is humping with restaurants filled with locals just enjoying a summer evening. I must say this strip doesn't give Park Ridge, it gives Wicker Park. City vibes with suburban safety and traffic a huge plus. I love restaurants/bars with an inside-outside set up. Patio was completely filled as the weather was really nice. Parallel to the patio was bar top tables nestled next to the big opened windows. That is my favorite place to sit. You get the best of both worlds, inside and outside. I was greeting in a timely fashion and seated pretty quickly considering I didn't plan this and it was prime time, like 6:30 pm. I love the decor, it was modern seating throughout. I really like the set up with half couch half chair in the dining area. Reminded me of being in a VIP lounge area in NYC or LA. My waitress was nice and pleasant however not very attentive. She took my drink and appetizer order with no problem but she never returned for my meal. Lol The runner brought my food. Even the manager noticed and came over and assured me she would be right over when done with other customers. I patiently waited but nothing. The manager came back to check on me so he then took my order, nice assist! Even the bus (man) Armando kept checking on me and we had a great conversation. He was awesome!!! Between him and the manager, they saved the 5th star!!! She did apologize and felt bad I was being helped by everyone but her. I'm sure it isn't a regular thing so no big deal. I ordered some cucumber Saki lemonade with mint OMG very light and refreshing. I got 2!! Appetizer I had their tempura calamari...very very good. Presentation was even cute. Entrée was tempura shrimp roll called Green Dragon. I enjoyed EVERYTHING!!! I really enjoyed this place and will make it regular outing, next time with friends. Even signed up for the rewards, thanks to the waitress.

Eric O.

Yelp
My wife and I came here on Tuesday for some sushi. The location and the restaurant were both great. I ordered a Sapporo, shrimp tempura roll, and a Niku niku roll. My wife ordered nigiri and the tempura udon. Our waitress Elisa was fantastic. She checked on us often. When we received our food, my wife loved everything! I thought the price for the shrimp tempura roll (5 pieces) was ok for $10, and the Niku Niku was just ok. I was hoping for $23 the steak was going to be warm, but it was cold. Overall, it was a nice restaurant, nice location, the sushi was good and the service was great. We will most likely be back.

Mon B.

Yelp
We have eaten here countless times and keep going back. However, tonight's experience may change that. Ordered pick up. My husband's scallop and shrimp meal was missing the scallops and my chicken lettuce wrap ($17) was a complete joke- see picture. The edamame was a little sad and we found green peppers in it. Just really disappointed our $100 meal was only half a meal.

Carole S.

Yelp
Our server Jazmin was wonderful! She was very attentive, friendly, and offered suggestions. Everything was delicious too! Thank you!

Noor F.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place came here last week and it was really good our waitress was so Nice and helpful!

Mike A.

Yelp
This was my first visit to this location after several to the one in Libertyville. I came in relatively early on a weeknight evening, which may explain why there were plenty of empty tables. Service: Not bad, but since the place was relatively empty, the servers spent a lot of time in the bar area chatting. Also noticed some PDA, which is not proper for a dining area of any restaurant. My server was ok, too much time in between first stop and taking order. She didn't have any other tables, so could have stopped by an extra time to check on food or drink refill. Food: I had the lobster roll, which didn't have a the lobster shell. At first thought that I had ordered the wrong roll. Nope, just didn't get one. Not sure why, as I have always gotten it in the past. Roll was good, maybe a bit too much eel sauce. Other rolls were ok as well, but a bit pricey for what you get. Overall; Nice place, good sushi, expensive for frequent visits.

Nora E.

Yelp
WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! We waited over an hour and a half and have just had our water this entire time. Yes we understand that it is a big group on a Friday night but there are bigger groups then ours being served way before ours. This place is not even that great either, mediocre at best. After an hour and a half of waiting there were worms in the edamame. To make the matter even worse, they did not offer anything to make up for it.

Laura G.

Yelp
Went here with my two young children for a 'nicer dinner' on a Thursday night. We were not so lucky, the table next to us thought it was ok to ruin everyone's dining experience and allow their young child to run around the entire restaurant non-stop. Our server even divulged that it happens all the time and the kids will even run into the kitchen. This is after we saw her almost trip over the same child running around. If I wanted an ambiance to let my children run around like animals I would have gone to that type of establishment. Needless to say we will not be going back!

Kelly T.

Yelp
The service was very good, our server was very kind, attentive, and explained everything on the menu. Ambiance in the restaurant is pretty typical for a sushi restaurant. I am not giving a five star or even four star review because of a couple things: one, the underside of the table was a mess. You would think for a restaurant that charges $20 for a sushi roll, there wouldn't be a bunch of tortilla chips underneath the table. The price for the roll is a bit too much, I have gotten better sushi at a cheaper price. One upside to this restaurant is that if you are going out with people who don't like sushi or do not eat raw fish, there are plenty of other options on the menu, such as Korean food. I don't think I will be coming here again, it's just not worth it for the price.

Jason P.

Yelp
Ambiance.... This place is all ambiance! What I like about Shakou is that it feels really cool being there. It feels like a high end restaurant downtown Chicago. Very chic style, more like a night club lounge, and they also play electronic music. But, the sushi is just ok. You pay more to eat at Shakou, but the sushi isn't all that great. I've been to many small sushi places that are much better, and cheaper at the same time. In this case, you don't get what you pay for.

Maddi C.

Yelp
Super disappointing experience here on Mother's Day, we had a reservation for 4 at 6:15 and while we were seated immediately, our single edamame appetizer took 40 minutes to be brought to the table, and our entrees took an additional hour after that, and was still somehow lukewarm. While waiting for our food, no one stopped by to fill water cups, let us know the status of our order, etc. We couldn't enjoy conversation during the wait as the music was incredibly loud, it felt like we were in a nightclub. Food is fine, but not worth sitting around for 2 hours for, and the service wasn't even bare minimum. Really disappointing for the price.

Rachael C.

Yelp
Overrated. Bad service. Great decor. Pretty good food. Service has gone down hill. Service this last time was non existent or rude...including the host stand. Even saw them be pretty dismissive to a delivery guy. Been here three times. I hope the bussers delivering the food make some money because wait staff does nothing. Also...give the option of a paper menu.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Wonderful experience. Great food, nice music, and romantic spot for couples or a group of friends. Sit at the bar and ask for Jake. He will take care of you!

Joseph Z.

Yelp
Wow food was awesome and our server was outstanding. We had a lot of questions about the menu and she was great. The prices are a little bit high, so this won't be my every day sushi place but this is definitely an upscale restaurant with excellent food.

Bernice C.

Yelp
Never disappointed- lobster roll is so so good. The drinks are also generously poured.

Sierra H.

Yelp
Luis is an Amazing chef! The restaurant is beautiful and welcoming. Jasmin was super nice and made sure we were cared for! Armando was super friendly and helpful! Will definitely be coming back. Service was quick and the food was delicious!

Farida Y.

Yelp
Love it in there! Everything is a top notch from the decoration to the food. Very stylish design! Great service . Will come back!

Margo M.

Yelp
I want to love this place so bad but I'm never satisfied with what I ate every time I leave here. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, the ambiance is extremely nice, the music is electronic and upbeat. It's very cool and chic inside. The service is always great. I'm vegan and always order the sweet potato roll and the AAC role, it's always mediocre and I'm never satisfied when I leave. I wish they would put more effort into the vegan options. My fiancé got Teriyaki Chicken and was really disappointed with the way the chicken came prepared- it was pulled apart almost shredded in disproportionate pieces and slices- like a hodge podge of chicken pieces if you will. You'll be sure to spend a good amount of money dining here, I wish we enjoyed our food more.

Emma C.

Yelp
Surprisingly for a sushi restaurant, the best thing on the menu was their pork chop which hasn't made its return since Covid.

Kisha H.

Yelp
If could give zero stars I would..It was my Bday yesterday and I was super excited to check this place out. So me and my bf and my son checked in the ladies who check you in were great. But our server I forgot her name seemed uninterested in serving us. Everything we ordered was all wrong and bad sushi was horrible. I ordered the halibut which came out cold and was dying of salt and some cold ass veggies. To be disappointed is an understatement and she brought my boyfriend the wrong food. I was beyond pissed I feel some type of way as I was looking at other people food was way better than ours and their service. WE WERE THE ONLY BLACK PEOPLE IN THAT PLACE MAKES YOU WONDER.....OH AND THOSE WEAK ASS DRINKS JUST UUGGGGGHHHH

Greta B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The food and drinks are fantastic and you cannot go wrong with anything you choose. I love their chicken teriyaki and always pair it with some sushi. The decor and overall vibe of the restaurant is super cool and they always play great music too. Our server was super knowledgeable and knew the menu like the back of her hand. She was able to help me figure out the exact drink I had last time when I could not remember. The experience is always great and they have top notch service which keeps us coming back!

BobbyNikki K.

Yelp
A staple in Park Ridge and one of our favorite spots for pick-up or a night out. Props to Nick for having great service, consistently delicious food and an atmosphere that makes you forget you're dining in Park Ridge. You'll never go wrong when ordering with Shakou!

Brad M.

Yelp
We've been going to Shakou since they opened. The food has been consistently good even though their sashimi selection was really limited during Covid. Unfortunately, while everyone else is back up to speed, Shakou still has a very limited selection of fresh sashimi. Went there Friday and ended up ordering some maki since they still don't have much in the way of sashimi. The rice in the rolls was weird. No texture. Wet and mushy like oatmeal or polenta. Never experienced this and all I can think is they screwed up marinating the rice for the day and used it anyway. Tiny pieces of fish in the rolls too. It was not good. Also, why am I tipping a server when the bus boy took my order, made my drinks and delivered my food to the bar?

Robert K.

Yelp
My coworkers and I were looking for something on the lighter side after our Chicago deep dish pizza from the night prior. We decided on Shakou based on the the Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. The quality of the food was top notch along with the quick service.

Jenny L.

Yelp
This restaurant is my new favorite sushi spot! Had a great Friday night dinner here. We came here for mainly sushi, so we ordered 3 rolls, which were more than enough. We had leftovers and left very very full. We ordered the black widow, niku niku and the volcano. The black widow, a signature maki with eel and scallops, was our favorite. It was so so so so so delicious and disappeared the first. Definitely order this one. The volcano was also good- nothing crazy out of the ordinary, but it was still pretty tasty. I liked that it wasn't overly greasy/ fried despite the tempura addition. I also liked the niku niku, a signature roll that included tuna and NY strip. This sushi had a unique taste especially with chili sauce. Overall I really liked the food here definitely worth the price- all the sushi tasted very fresh. The vibes here were really nice as well, and the decor was modern and p classy. As of December 2020, there were plenty of outdoor seating (with heaters) and window seating. Sure to come again!

Yelp
This is my new favorite sushi place! The atmosphere is so cute and classy, and it has such a good vibe, almost like a cute cocktail bar. I came here for the first time today with my friend, and we were pleasantly surprised by how cute the place looked inside. The lights were dim, and they have cute, comfy couches in the "lounge" area at the middle of the restaurant, higher chairs and tables in the seating area, and a bar! They have cute chandeliers and colored lighting, as well! We sat in the lounge area and although the couch seating was comfy, they didn't have a back, so my back began to hurt in the middle of my meal. The table is lower than the table, so you end up slouching the whole meal, which is annoying. I felt underdressed because the place looked like it would have some kind of dress code and I was wearing jeans and gym shoes, but nobody said anything to me and tons of other people were wearing jeans. The menu is huuuuge and the food quality was so delicious. I ordered the crunch rolls and spicy tuna maki. Both were so fresh and the crunch rolls came with like 10 rolls rather than 8 so it was worth the $16. The drink menu is also fairly large and I got house Chardonnay which was very good, but my friend ordered a Basil Dmsdh cocktail that we both fell in love with! It was so sweet and tasted so mango-y! I will definitely be back here again soon!

Yelp
Such a cute spot. Great decor and love the patio with heaters. In town for the weekend and came here with 3 others, and all of us really enjoyed our experience. Social distancing measures are being taken for those that care. The service was friendly, and our waitress came around just enough to make sure that we had everything we need in a timely mannerand water was filled, but not so much that it disrupted conversations. The food was AMAZING. Everything we got was delicious: Edamame Lamb appetizer Gyoza Niku niku roll The tempura lobster roll (so good that we then ordered 2 more) Flaming Hamachi roll

Yelp
Slightly overpriced dinner options that are filling but just slightly overdone. Service took a little longer than I would of liked. Nice ambiance and a great addition to park ridge downtown dining.
