Shalhoob's - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Shalhoob’s is a family-run butcher shop/restaurant that’s been in the Funk Zone for over 40 years. While we fully recommend ordering their packaged meats for your at-home feast, their sprawling patio is a great place to hang out, drink some beer, and enjoy SB’s endless sunshine. The patio has its own menu and we love the burger, tri-tip, or fried chicken sandwich. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Hands-down, the best barbecue I have ever had! Absolutely amazing flavor, quality and service. Everything on the menu is amazing and WORTH the price. We drive over two hours just to come to dinner at Shalhoob’s!

All around A+. The happy hour value is UNBELIEVABLE. Some of the best happy hour food I’ve ever encountered post covid. $7 for a giant bbq sandwich that blew us all away, madness, this is a steal. Avocado salad with broccoli that would convert any carnivore, a precious memory I’ll never forget. $7 margs that made me one happy mom, thank you for your service. Crew was outstanding. Outdoor seating with ample shade, a real treat. If I lived closer, I’d be coming here weekly. This is one of the best family friendly restaurants I’ve visited in years. So thrilled I found this gem!

Nice spot in the Funk Zone. The food was good and fresh, great for a relaxed break. Service was okay. Loved the hibiscus margarita — fresh and original! They had a happy hour from 1 to 5 PM, which was great value for the price. A solid place to grab a drink and a bite in a pleasant atmosphere.

Stopped here for a quick lunch on the way up north. We ordered the pork ribs, tri-tip, and mac&cheese. Food and staff were great. Be prepared to wait as it can get busy, but service was fast.

Most overrated spot in SB. If you’ve had real BBQ across the U.S., it’s sadly a joke. They’re famous for tri tips which were over cooked, cut where it wasn’t edible, etc. the buns and the sauce were solid. Sadly, the beer was similar. It’s a nobody lager that tastes like water. Should’ve gotten a bud light. Why am I being so intense? Because I paid over $30 for one sandwich and a beer, you self order and they still try to prompt at 25% tip. This should $20 max all in with tip. Don’t waste your time with BBQ in SB.

After seeing this on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, I just had to follow in my man Guy Fieri's footsteps and I wasn't disappointed. Pulled pork sandwich with fries - bangin'. Blonde beer - thirst quenching. Mango margarita - delicious. Looking and smelling what other people were having made my mouth water. Go to Shalhoob's and get some good BBQ food.

Stumbled upon this place randomly while visiting Santa Barbara and was very pleasantly surprised by everything. Food was very tasty, the service was friendly, and the location and ambiance were pretty good. It helped that they are dog-friendly as well. Highly recommend the bbq chicken and the nachos.

Was searching for a sandwich and came to the right spot!! We got the tri tip and turkey sandwiches. Both were sooo tasty! Good beers too. Servers were super friendly. To note- only outdoor seating here which I’m sure is usually fine but of course we came when it was raining and windy. There are some seats under coverage.
