So glad to see Shalhoob's finally open their new location! The inside is spacious, with bar seating and several TV's for the sports fanatics. The outdoor patio area is really nice too. Picnic tables and umbrellas are available for small and large groups.
Their liquor license is still pending, but they do expect to be serving alcoholic beverages during the week of April 15, 2024 as I write this review.
I've been to the location in the Funk Zone, so I'm pretty familiar with the food here. Today I decided to try new items.
I ordered the1/4 rack ribs, which comes with garlic bread. I was surprised at the serving size, but happy to see I got my moneys worth! They were meaty, and full of flavor.
I also ordered the Mac n Cheese as my side dish. Coated with breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. I feel it could have been seasoned a bit more, but it was still pretty good.
The Cota St. wings are coated in a Guajillo honey sauce, and topped with mint, red onion and lime. A unique combination of flavors, and I'm not a picky person, but my taste buds just couldn't get down with the flavor. Nonetheless, I'm glad I gave them a shot!
The clear winner are the nachos! Not only was the presentation on point, but the flavors blew us away. The tasty tri-tip chunks completed this mountain of goodness drizzled in chipotle aioli. I highly recommend ordering them.
The avocado salad includes quinoa, grilled broccoli, red onion, toasted almonds, mint, and tossed in a buttermilk lemon dressing. I really like this salad! Not only is it healthy, but it's one that will satisfy your belly.
My friend also ordered the tri-tip sandwich which looked amazing. The tri-tip was dripping in juices and the bread was soft and had a nice sheen; which tells me it was very fresh.
Staff was very attentive, checked on our party and kept the restaurant clean.
Overall, I'm glad to see this new location added to the Magnolia shopping center. Looking forward to coming back soon!
