We had a large group and got nine pies of pizza and a lot of fries. The food came out in a timely manner and the staff were very accommodating and amiable. The food was delicious and the quality did not decrease when the quantity increased. All around a very enjoyable experience.

Google
Great pizza place for by the slice and to go! Also a sweet little eating spot also! Very friendly and thoughtful place. Conscientious of food allergies and great service!

It often is not open during posted hours. Several times we've gone and it was closed. One time I called an order in and when I went to pick it up, the place was closed. I called again and an answering service said the owner was out. They contacted the owner who came back to the shop about 10 min later. He then began preparing the food. I waited a total of 50 min.

Went there and ordered a small pie. I used to come here for years. Seen the rise and fall of this place. They had a new cook last year that really seemed to care and made some serious improvements. Really friendly guy and extremely nice, I think his name was Harris? Idk what happened. Haven’t seen him in months and the pizza is back to normal. not too much to write about. Decent slices, the counter guy is nice but the pizza is nothing to write home about anymore. Owner is rarely there and when he is, not the most pleasant. Seems like his heart is in the right place though. Overall 5/10

Google
Ordered a large 16 slice pizza with mushrooms and green peppers. They didn't put any green peppers on the pizza and the mushrooms were scarce. Was charged $3/topping. When I ordered a large 16 slice pizza with extra cheese the following week, I told the owner about the previous pizza. Got no response from the owner and this pizza was 8 slices and too greasy to eat. Will never order from there again!!

Just found this place it has great good. I ordered the personal pizza and cheese fries and both were delicious. When I come back to Philly i would like to try out more items on the menu which looked good.

Google
Ordered tomato and onion pie, came whiteout cheese, I can't believe it, ordered also 2 plain slices 11:00 am right in the morning and that's what I got. Unacceptable

Google
A unique pizza flavor! The spicy fries are just seasoned fries similar to that of rally’s or checkers. Basic marinara sauce.

Yelp
A client was in the office today, who is strictly Kosher so we brought some pizza in from Shalom Pizza. In the past, I have had Shalom Pizza. I wasn't really a big fan of it and found it to be a bit too greasy. Today, I wasn't looking forward to eating their pizza. When it was time for lunch, I took a slice of the pizza. To my surprise, it wasn't as greasy as before. I took my slice of pizza to the lunchroom and began to eat it. To my surprise, it was actually very good. The pizza was seasoned very well and had delicious cheese on top. I wish they had a bit more sauce on the pizza, but the pizza was still good. It was also a bit surprising that the pizza was Kosher. Other Kosher pizzas I have had were pretty bad and even tasted like Kosher quality. However, this pizza did not. Altogether, I had a solid slice of pizza from Shalom Pizza. If it is at my work again, I would not hesitate to get another slice.

Yelp
Horrible experience. I arrived to pick up my food and no one was there. They mentioned someone was out on delivery and I was shocked they didn't have more staff to handle orders too. Then Grubhub cancelled the order which is not Shalom's fault and they never alerted me on the app. The representative at Shalom was very rude and said to me we can't make you food if we haven't been paid either. I understand that but the manner in which I was communicated to you would think I cussed him out or something. I was very accommodating and understanding. I will not be going back to even try this food if this is the service experience I had.

Yelp
The only place in the Philadelphia area I can get pizza. It's delicious. It's Kosher. It has proper Certification from Keystone K.

Yelp
Unfortunately things seem to have gone downhill. It was always the case that things other than pizza were not so great but now the pizza has moved to a bland, seemingly store bought crust (my wife noticed tell tale indentations on the bottom). The butternut squash soup tasted weirdly sour (how can you mess up butternut squash soup!?), the mac and cheese was simply elbow pasta and mozzarella. Interestingly my wife thought the Caesar salad was okay (not great, but okay). But all in all, not good, let alone with the almost $100 spent to pickup (a large specialty pizza, grandma style pizza, small Mac and cheese, quart of butternut soup, and large Caesar salad). Will have to give them a break and see if they make improvements

Yelp
Reasonable prices. Ordered a small pie (10 inch) for my daughter the other night and it looked so good that i had to eat a slice myself.

Yelp
Mediocre food and poor attitude. I keep kosher and know what to expect in a kosher restaurant. Three observant Jews enter you can at least thank us for coming in instead of "We close at 7 so you gotta be done." Borekas was cold in the middle. Cigars were greasy. Pizza was meh. No asking if we were enjoying.

Caren J.

Yelp
It was a pleasure ordering right through delivery, the pizza was delectable!! The Greek pizza was very flavorful & enjoyed by our whole family!

Yelp
Good food and service for reasonable prices. I liked the sabich sandwich. Not a lot of space but a bit of space to sit down.

Yelp
As someone who works nearby, healthy lunch choices are hard to come by. I decided to get takeout from Shalom upon reading the "Vegetarian food" inscription outside. The husband and wife who helped me were very friendly. I ordered hummus and being the finicky eaten I can be, wanted vegetables instead of pita bread. Although this isn't a menu item both the husband and wife went out of their way to cut up vegetables for me to dip in their homemade hummus. I received large portions and everything tastes fresh. Other people seem to be complaining about the lack of cleanliness and attitude of employees. I encountered neither of those two issues. They had several pizza bread things in a case and if I ate bread would have partaken, they looked delicious! I'll be adding this accommodating spot to my lunch rotation.

Yelp
Checking out the old shop under new management. I still like the pizza and I'll be back for the yogurt and bourekas and whatnot. Small shop with good pizza and immediate service.

Yelp
Great pizza! My daughter commented it was the best pizza she ever tasted. Store was clean and workers were very nice and polite. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
When the falafel bug bites, there is another restaurant very close to me whose food is, "feh" (sorry, millennials, "meh" doesn't cut it). Since the food is the whole reason I go to restaurants, I go to Shalom Pizzeria to sate that falafel feeling. Whether the sandwich or the sandwich deconstructed in platter form, a falafel meal hits all of the right buttons. Sometimes I'll commit gluttony and have a slice of pizza as an appetizer or chaser. Always happy! Ah...and those carrots!!!!

Yelp
This is the best kosher pizza you will find closest to Center City. If you need kosher pizza, call these guys and go pick it up. It only takes 15 minutes to get there (non-rush hour). The pizza is actually pretty good, and the pies are a good size. They also have good salads, OK Falafel (but there is better Falafel at Mama's in Center City), and other non-meat kosher food items. Just don't try to order on Friday night or Saturday when they are closed. You can find this place in a strip mall on Haverford Ave just on the Philly side of City Ave (if you are going West on Haverford, it is on your LEFT before City Ave). Just don't come late on Friday afternoon or on Saturday when they are closed.

Yelp
New ownership has really transformed this place. Food is excellent and the staff really work hard and care. Recommend to all who are in the area and wanting good pizza. Family owned is always a plus for me as well

Yelp
I genuinely enjoy going to shalom pizza - the employees are helpful and fun to hang out with while you're eating a meal. My favorite dish is the cheese and spinach bureka and if you get a personalized/specialized pizza pie it usually comes out really good as well as good Israeli drinks and French fries Not just for those who keep kosher but for anybody who enjoys Israeli food , I advise everybody in the nearby area to try

Yelp
This pizza is acceptable, but you can find better. Very oily, and somewhat on the expensive side. They have some weird combinations that do not work.

Yelp
I would have loved to review Shalom Pizzeria. However, they decided to close a full hour before their posted closing time on the Sunday night when we visited.

Henry T.

Yelp
Charged a $12 (!) delivery charge for a $16 pizza. The huge delivery charge isn't mentioned on their website, nor did it get brought up when I ordered on the phone. (The delivery was to the Penn campus---farther than a typical pizza delivery, so I understand if they charge a fee, but 1) it should be disclosed honestly, and 2) $12 is ridiculous.)

Yelp
The pizza was okay but the place needs a GOOD scrubbing and cleaning. I was embarrassed to stop in there with a business associate for lunch. It was so run down and beat up, what's the big deal to clean the floors, windows, bathrooms and spruce the place up a little? I guess that because there are hardly any kosher places in Philly metro, you have to take what's out there. Very sad.

Naomi A.

Yelp
Had really good eggplant parmesean tonight, my husband had the whole wheat greek pizza which was great. Menu has a lot of new options on it.

Daniella E.

Yelp
I keep trying to like this place because there are very few options in the area but they keep disappointing. I must admit that the food is definitely better under the new owners- but it's still a long way from good! But more importantly, they get my order wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. I ordered their signature pie and it wasn't made as described! Their "large fries" came with 12 french fries and the mozzarella sticks are literally the ones you buy at the supermarket. I feel bad to write such a negative review because the owners are very nice but I'm hoping that this review will help them tighten their ship. Every time I have ordered, either something is forgotten, or messed up- these are not complicated requests we're talking about. I really wish that I could rely on them to make good food and get our order right because I would order from them more often. Sorry greater Philadelphia, you still have ways to go in finding a solid pizza shop.

Yelp
No one can understand why this place is still in business. As my cousin went from Brooklyn on a business trip to Philly told me, "that place is like Flatbush 30 years ago." The pizza is simply AWFUL worse than camp pizza. It is pricey. It doesn't taste good. Forget about the decor, totally dirty and gross. Clearly they have a monopoly on the Main Line Philly pizza network and this needs to end . Likely politics of the kosher overseers is keeping this place in business and preventing good pizza from being made.

Yelp
There is a short, disrespectful and rude Jewish guy that works at this pizza place. I have felt disrespected by him on multiple occasions because he does not know how to talk to people. Instead of yelling back I decided to take the higher road and not start a fight, although he pushed me to my limits. The only person here that has any decency toward others is the lady but the rest of the Jewish people look like real jerks. They really give a bad name for Jewish people, so now the stereotypes are cheap and disrespectful? That is just unacceptable to me.

Yelp
Went on Sunday afternoon. It was crowded and people coming in and going out. I ordered a Bourekas Platter: You get a choice- I had spinach. The Platter comes with Egg, Pickles, Israeli Salad and Tahini on the side. I have never had Israeli salad without the sauce (Tahini) .I put a little Tahini on the cukes/tomatoes. I was filled up although not satisfied. I wanted a coffee drink - Caffe Americano but they only have coffee served with breakfast (for an hour 11am-12pm). They do have free wifi but the place is too small to linger and since you can only get coffee for one hour, I don't see the point. I think the price is a little high since it is really not Israeli Salad you are getting.

Gary C.

Yelp
Dirty. There was a fly in my son's pasta (pasta itself wasn't even fresh - it had been reheated). I had a vegetable wrap - which was more an "old salad wrap". Horrible tasteless far-from-fresh "food". Avoid like the plague.

Taylor S.

Yelp
Some of the workers have a foul attitude which I didn't appreciate. food is over priced for frozen quality, pizza is okay. Overall some of the food needs better quality or a price reduction but that's my opinion!

Eve R.

Yelp
Shalom Pizza unequivocally has THE BEST Greek salad in Philadelphia. It is a must order item when you eat there or take out. It is consistently fresh, just the right amount of seasoning, dressing, etc. A winner.

dolly o.

Yelp
they have the best pizza, the service is very good the only thing is that the place is small to go eat in. if you need to take out it is the BEST BEST FOOD Dolly Orbach
