Good food and affordable prices! I think it was around 130 TWD / $4 USD for a balanced meal of rice, soup, chicken, and veggies (bamboo shoot or cabbage). Chicken is pretty tender and sauce is tasty. Located at the front of the night market and is easy to find - came here multiple times when I was in Taipei Note they’re cash only so bring cash!

The signature tender chicken rice has good flavor. It’s different from Hainan chicken rice because it’s kind of salty with soy sauce. My main gripe is that there’s too many bones in the chicken and I keep having to spit them out.

Food was great, and I was very hungry, and I forgot to take the pictures first. The lady cashier is not exactly friendly, long face all the way, to me and other customers, no difference. Got up from wrong side of bed perhaps, or difference culture altogether perhaps. If I were able to speak Vietnamese, it might turn around. I saw signs to use Easy Card, various charge cards are also acceptable, BUT, NO, per the lady cashier. Cashless transactions are the trend flow, No? Cash notes and coins changing hands are not exactly sanitized, just my two cents. I would urge the shop keeper to remove the cards are welcome sign, or simply allow payment with cards as sign suggested.

@shanneichicken “山內雞肉” at Nan Ji Chan Night Market is known for serving up a tasty version of chicken over rice using Hainenese chicken. The famous chicken is traditionally poached, and resulting fat and liquid is poured over the rice adding a tasty, oily chicken flavour. Each is sold at 90 TWD and comes with a dish of chicken , rice and soup.

Amazing find! Not opened on Saturdays. Opens in the morning at 11am normally, if the boss sleeps in then it opens at 12pm, if the boss can't sleep then 10am. Chicken rice is 90NT and it comes with rice and soup. Super flavorful yet light. Rice comes with lard and soy sauce. Heavenly. Line moves fast!!

Spectacular!!! What a gem for trying local chicken in Taipei. The texture and the flavour of chicken is amazing, and their chicken oil rice is just as brilliant as their chicken. Other side dishes are also affordable and with incredible quality. Must come if you visit Nan Ji Chang night market!!

Not only does the chicken taste 20 times better than your average foul at the same price, the texture is proportionally better too—got that tight and non-fatty muscle that chickens are supposed to have from running around. For a small and very popular vendor, the cashier was patient with me, another employee refilled the hot sauce next to me without my having to ask, and another double checked to make sure we got everything we ordered correctly. They’re all sharp and attentive and I think it also say a little something when all the employees get along with each other as well. Will go again.

I was told this was a popular food stall at Nanjichang night market. Judging by the long line this seemed to be true. However, i didn't find the chicken here to be that good. First, they don't have white meat only dark meat. And the chicken meat was very very tough and chewy. It wasn't tender at all. By the time you finish, you will definitely have a jaw work put and need to floss expeditiously. I don't recommend it
