9 Local Denver Spots for a Great Bourbon Cocktail | Eater

"Take a seat on a blue leather chair and take a gander at former American football coach of the Denver Broncos Mike Shanahan’s trophies, all from his Super Bowl victories. No matter what sizzling cut of steak you order, the best drink to stand up to a dry-aged side of beef is an aged cocktail like the Barrel-Aged Manhattan, made with Bulleit whiskey, Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur, sweet vermouth, and a dash of bitters." - Vox Creative

Started with Crab Cake, Cesar Salad then Steak. Everything phenomenal. Actually had chunks of crab, and the Cesar was fresh. Seasoned perfectly steak by adding the shanahan’s optional rub. It was quality food and service without the stuffiness of a “formal” steakhouse. You can do business meetings to date night. For quality steakhouses, this is worth definitely worth a try.

Google
Very professional staff from the hostess', to our waiter Sean and the manager walking around. Staff was super friendly, professional, attentive, courteous and kind. Sean our waiter was top notch, prompt and on the ball all night long. The food was FANTASTIC!!! My steak was perfectly cooked and the flavor and juices were INCREDIBLE. If I hadn't been so full, I could have eaten another one. Garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli and the lobster mac and cheese were all delightful. I can't wait to bring my Dad next time he comes to visit.

Google
One of the best steakhouses in the country. And I am a steakhouse junkie! A must do. Fantastic escargot, grilled octopus, and the best lamb chops in North America! Don't skip dessert. Had the lemon cake which was delicate, refreshing, and exquisite. Props to the pastry chef! Don't skip the wine list. Don't skip a cocktail. This one is worth it! Ask for Richard , one of the best waiters we've ever had. He gets food, he gets service and he leans in to your culinary experience!

Google
Had a phenomenal time at Shanahan's! Everything was cooked perfectly. And service was impeccable. Love the marinade for the Satay (beef skewers which tasted like a sweet-soy Japanese Tare marinade and paired perfectly with a peanut sauced salad like the traditional South East Asian Satay)

Google
Food was okay, I feel like it could be better. We got calamri for appetizer our favorite at any restaurant and we got steaks and it was served in a piping hot plate so it was still cooking while you're eating to keep it warm too. The drinks was good and the service was excellent. Very loud though so it's a little bit hard to hear, wish I could post a video. We spent about $300 for the two of us and on our way out we got to see the trophies. Overall we still had a nice experience.

Google
Our meal was delicious, so many good options it was hard to decide but we will be back. Truffle Mac n cheese was scrumptious!

Google
Can’t speak about the service enough! Amazing place with amazing staff and atmosphere! Everything was cooked perfectly and service was top notch! Quick tip! If you ask the waitress to hold the Super Bowl trophy, they will let you!!!

Google
Superb service. High end steak choices from dry aged to wagyu and bone in. Bread service is fresh, hot and delicious sesame loaf with butter. Sides of hoisin Brussels and lyonnaise potatoes. Expensive but very good.

Yelp
This is my first review, BUT, this is the best restaurant I've ever been to. I've had great steaks, but this was THE best steak I've ever had. The service was impeccable, they waiters and waitresses were so nice, I GOT TO HOLD THE FRIGGIN 1998 BRONCOS VINCE LOMBARDI TROPHY, JOHN ELWAY HELD THAT! The Lemon Sorbet was SO good, and the environment in the restaurant was super good.

Yelp
I have always wanted to visit this establishment passing by on my way on I25. Well after all these years I did it. And on my 60th birthday and what a treat it was for myself. The staff was courteous ensuring you had enough water and drinks. Ensured your food was to your liking etc.... I also was impressed with the precision of the staff as when one table left they cleared the table and made it ready in no time. Like clockwork. The ambiance was very pleasant and upbeat. Great music to dine to. All in all I had a great 60th birthday dinner though it was pricy it was well worth it.

Yelp
So I've been curious about Shanahan's for some time... happily I good friend was in Denver and suggested we meet for dinner. The short story is great service, great food and you should go! The details...the restaurant is pretty big which normally would concern me both for food and service but not the case. It's a normal high end steak house.. that means everything is extra. Starters, me bacon wrapped scallops..done to perfection..yum..there was also a really good looking salad for one of the group. The mains were, salmon for my wife...she gave me a bite... tender flaky and delicious, friend ribeye it was 16 oz I think, rare. It looked great, big he couldn't finish it. I had the small 7oz filet and I side of onion rings to share. The Filet was blistering hot when served, but perfectly medium rare as I requested. I can't tell you how many times I've sent steaks back for not being medium rare. This was perfect. So tender I could have used a normal table knife to cut it..nicely seasoned...all I can say is yum! We shared the onion rings. Delicious and plenty. We had two desserts...one berries with whipped cream...nice..lemon tiramisu. Wow it's lemony! We also have a white (gruner) wine and a Spanish red. The service we had is some of the best we have had in Colorado.. the food was great...oh and the bread is sinfully good, don't fill up on it! I don't give many 5 stars..I think I'm a "bad" :-) picky customer but they deserve it. Check them out! I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
This is one of my top places for a steak houses in Colorado. The food is consistent and always good! They offer velvet but parking isn't horrible either in the garage. The entry way is small, so when everyone is waiting it's a little overwhelming. Esp when they were 45 mins behind reservations, but they did make up for the wait which we really appreciate with a round of drinks. Thr host are sweet and will let you hold and take pictures with the superbowl trophie they have in the case - you just need to ask. The ambiance is classy, as any steakhouse should be. Everything we ordered was amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly as requested. The scallops were seared and not overcooked! The tuna tower was great but more chips were neeed. The carpaccio was everything, but I wish the sauce were on the side of the plate or drizzled all over and not on the four corners of the Wagyu. The seabass I think was on the dryer side. We left full and happy. But I wish the server told us we over ordered instead of letting us order 4 sets of everything. Besides that the service held the standard as it should for this steakhouse. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
This was my first experience at Shanahan's and undoubtedly my last. I came with a business partner of mine and I ordered the rib eye and lyonnaise potatoes. The steak came out medium almost medium well, when I ordered it medium rare. They offered to remake it but I had other engagements that night so they just took it off the bill. They handled the situation as expected, but I was once again disappointed later into the service when I accidentally put my hand under the table to find the underside of the table was littered with gum. I would expect a more clean and well kept dining room from an up scale steak house. There are plenty of steak houses in the Denver metro area which know how to properly cook a steak and don't have gum underneath the table. That is why I won't be returning.

Yelp
Went here for an event - and it was such a great experience. The wait staff did a fantastic job ensuring that our very large group always had our needs met. The food was delicious - and the cheesecake was dangerously good. Hope to return soon!

Yelp
To celebrate my husband's 30th, I treated him with a night at Shanahan's. We made a reservation for Saturday evening and were seated shortly after arriving- they seemed very busy that night. They have a great wine program and we were both happy with our selections that night. Bread is brought to the table and we also decided to split the yummy Shanahan's salad- the portion is perfect for two people as a starter. For our meals, my husband ordered the ribeye and I got the filet mignon with the croquette and added shrimp to the side. We also ordered mashed potatoes and carrots for sides to share. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The filet was tender and was perfect with the cabernet sauce. I was also happy I decided to add shrimp as it was a perfect pairing. My husband's ribeye, though, was the easy standout. They pride themselves on their steaks and for good reason. It was so flavorful and tender, we were truly delighted with it. The mashed potatoes were garlicky and buttery in all the right ways and the carrots were both sweet and savory and very good. The meal ended with a complimentary espresso mousse to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was the perfect ending for an incredible meal. Our one complaint was the music. It was a little too loud and the selection was weird- like odd club mixes of throwbacks (I'm talking a remix of Dido's "Thank You"). It's not that I dislike that kind of music (I do enjoy it!) but it just seemed a bit odd? But it certainly wasn't enough to deter us from wanting to return. It's pricey, which we totally expected, but the food really is worth it, so we'll be back to celebrate another big occasion!

Yelp
Such an incredible experience, service, food, and drinks. The gin and tonic had massive blue cheese stuffed olives, the lobster bisque was thick and creamy with a huge lobster claw center and small cup of vermouth to drizzle over, and the steak was perfectly charred and cooked medium rare. Our group also split the lobster mac and cheese, which was loaded with lobster meat. We also had the wagyu satay, absolutely delicious, I could have ordered another as my main. Our waitress was very attentive and packed out to go bags for us, I love when restaurants do that. I definitely suggest dressing up a little nicer, casual attire may feel out of place.

Yelp
I will give this restaurant a 4-star review. For the price, I expected more than outstanding taste and food. I was not too impressed and I had better. The service, however, was outstanding! I think the restaurant is kind of dark. I barely saw the menu, I had to pull out my flashlight from my phone. The ambiance is also more industrial than romantic for my taste. I also think the music needs to be less hip pop, Here we are in a 5-star restaurant, and you hearing Beyoncé's, and similar singers. For a fine restaurant, you also need a fine, good-quality of music, not garbage. The leftovers were packaged for us, such thing a is rare nowadays. Shanahan's Steakhouse it okay, maybe better than just good. It just not one of my favorites.

Yelp
Stopped in for an after dinner cocktail as their espresso martinis are always good. Unfortunately, what was not good was the attitude of our first bartender, Michelle. She was very unfriendly and literally threw the glass that held our bar tab at us. She is very lucky that her co-worker, Dani, redeemed the night for her. Dani was pleasant, talked to us about tv shows when she heard part of our conversation, and provided the quality service that Shanahan's is known for.

Yelp
I'm so glad we decided to dine here for my hubby's bday while we were on vacation in Denver. We had reservations for 7 pm for outside seating. I was afraid it would be so hot given the weather had been in the 90s but we were pretty lucky it was a cooler day. We waited about 15 min for our table. No biggie...we took advantage of the time and looked at the championship trophy and rings. My sea bass was perfection. So full of umami and melts in your mouth. I highly recommend it. I loved the creme brulee desert too. Service was excellent! Friendly and they check on you several times. Elect to self park in the garage (very short walk to the restaurant) or there is complimentary valet parking. I told my husband that if we come back to Denver, this place is a must go.

Yelp
Be prepared to drop some $$$$. Your meal was wonderful. I had the dry aged porterhouse but the absolute star of the meal was the waygu filet. My lawwwd it was good. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops. I give those a 3/5. Sides were au gratin potatoes and asparagus. Both fantastic.

Yelp
Edward, our server was awesome! Atmosphere was great food was perfect! We can for my wife's birthday and it was aces across the board. We will need to save up to go back but you definitely get what you pay for!

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service. Our waiter was outstanding. I enjoy eating out in the patio.

Yelp
I know Shanahans is a fancy steakhouse, but I never been here before, so I didnt know what to expect. I am please to say that everything went off without a hitch. The night started off with a jumbo shrimp appetizer, and when I say jumbo, I mean JUMBO both in size and flavor, the cocktail sauce also has a zesty tangy flavor. The house salad was one of the most tasty and amazing salads I ever had, the lettuce was so fresh and crisp and the tomatoes, cranberries, cucumbers, and croutons sang together in a joyous harmony of fantastic flavors. The surprise of the salad was a giant piece of bacon laid on top. Truly one of a kind experience. The fillet mignon was tender, juicy and melt in your mouth delicious paired with the silky smooth mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, it was a meal fit for a king.
google avatar

Ray K.

Yelp
Great steak house with excellent quality. I am too fond of the atmosphere, a bit too crowded and loud in my opinion. Ordered their fillet with mashed potatoes and spinach, very well done.
google avatar

Yelp
Me and my friends were on vacation in Denver decided to go to a more local steakhouse instead of a franchise one that we ate at before like stk.The food was incredible. Zero complaints everything was cooked to perfection and so delicious. Our waitress was amazing as well, we got there right before they closed, but they were still so accommodating and made us feel comfortable and NOT rushed at all.And the ambience is pretty normal for a steakhouse but the music they were playing was smooth house music and we loved it! Definitely recommend anyone in Denver to stop by Shanahan's for an amazing dinner and while you're there, check out the Super Bowl trophies, and rings!
google avatar

Maya K.

Yelp
Love, love this place! They have the best menu available for food, drinks, and desserts. This place never disappoints the service is great and Jim our bartender has been here for ages and really takes care of us. The ambience is nice and upscale and always makes you feel welcome by the staff when coming in! The carpaccio is to die for and the au gratin potatoes are awesome

Danielle R.

Yelp
Shanahan's is our favorite restaurant in Colorado. We've even meet Mr. Shanahan himself on our anniversary a few years back. Made our night so special. Amazing food and atmosphere. Service is amazing as well they treat you so well. We've never had a bad experience here. And we come 3-4 times a year for special occasions. You'll be happy you went.
google avatar

Yelp
After much debate on where to have a birthday dinner, we landed on Shanahan's. And so glad we did because that was the best dinner I have ever had! Service was above and beyond. Ambiance was fancy, yet casual. We felt completely comfortable and enjoyed looked at all the trophies while waiting on our table. Deserves more than 5 stars. Recommend highly. The carrot cake we ordered to go was amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the second time I have been to Shanys and each time I am more impressed. You have to try the chat broiled octopus appetizer with potato salad and chorizo. The chopped salad and wedge salad were huge and delicious. Split a 10oz filet that came on a sizzling hot plate. Great service and great ambiance.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
We went for the first time and we're so very impressed!! From the moment we entered friendly professional folks led us to our table then multiple folks came by throughout the evening unintrusively. The meal went at its own pace despite the restaurant filling up; never felt rushed and were there for 3.5 hours. Our appetizers of escargot and monster shrimp cocktail were perfect. Our dinner of Delmonico steak and Berkshire 2" large chop were prepared perfectly. The 5" tall chocolate cake was.... Perfect. The prices are significant, but for a special meal it was all marvelous. As for the two 1-star reviews, I feel they were from the same event. And cannot imagine they ate at the same place I just did.
google avatar

Yelp
Great steakhouse experience. Food was delicious, service was solid, as well as, the cocktails were on point. The busy restaurant gave off a great vibe. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Parking valet is free or you can park inside the RE/MAX headquarters garage nearby. Reservation is highly recommended. The bar seating area is not bad they have a few tables and booth if you can not get the standard dinning room. Be aware the pop 2000s techno music in the bar area could be distracting if you prefer a quiet setting. The ambience however is very classy with a wall of wine bottles. Our server and food runners were all friendly and one of the managers even checked on us even though we were sitting at a causal bar booth. Dress code I saw winter coats to business casual. It felt professional without being pretentious. Price was fair for starters all the way up to Wagyu $100+ steaks. My favorite food item was the lobster bisque. The roasted beet salad was soft and they were nice enough to split the plate for us. I also tried their signature Onion ring, eat this last because one ring will make you full. We didn't order steak because filet will always taste like filet pretty much the same unless you dry age it. Wagyu (Japanese beef) is so over hyped and most of the time you're not going to get authentic A5. The trout was dry but still good overall. Mike Shanahan is a legend who started a coaching tree with over 15 of his previous assistants becoming coaches: G Kubiak, S McVay, M LeFleur, M McDaniel, and his son Kyle Shanahan.
google avatar

Julina K.

Yelp
Shanahan's was beautiful, especially at night with the lights. It's a pretty big restaurant. Service was great and we had a group of 14, our servers were very attentive. The food was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and the portions were very generous. If I lived in Denver, I'd definitely be back.

Yelp
This was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. We made an online reservation a couple days in advance and on the day of we only waited about 5-10 mins for our table to be ready. Shanahan's has a typical steakhouse ambiance: intimate, romantic, and the aroma of steak -- wow! We were seated in a cozy booth (bread and butter included!) and surprised with rose petals on the table for our anniversary. Moments later our server came by and took our drink order. We opted for a bottle of the Pessimist Petite Sirah. For our dinner spread, we ordered: -Shanahan's Salad (conveniently split into two portions) -French onion soup (so much umami, delicious!) -Porterhouse Steak (this had such a great crust and was cooked perfectly medium rare) -Garlic mashed potatoes (the right amount of garlic and creaminess) -Creamed spinach (delightful greens to add to our dish!) -Complimentary dessert (stuffed at the end but still enjoyed and omg wow) Something I especially enjoyed since we were sharing the steak, was that our server brought out 2 hot plates for our food. The plates were as promised super hot, covered in butter, and topped with fresh herbs -- this is the BEST way to eat steak and will be doing this moving forward. In addition to the amazing food, we really enjoyed getting to know our server, Armando. He gave us local recommendations around the Denver area, cool facts about Shanahan's, and even let my partner hold the 49ers Lombardi Trophy that was behind the glass case at the front of the restaurant after learning he was a huge fan! Have to say, this went above and beyond my expectations and will certainly recommend to anyone in the area. Thank you Shanahan's for making our anniversary away from home so special!
google avatar

Patty W.

Yelp
My wife and I have been visiting Shanahan's for most holidays in recent years and everything is usually great. But this Valentine's Day was different. Wish they treated all their guests as they do their regulars. For example, you see regulars sat before you even if arrived first, get bigger wine pours and had flowers put on their tables. It's clear who's a regular and who isn't and not just on this visit. Started with the crab cake and it never disappoints. However, our steaks were BLUE. I ordered a lobster tail which I ate alone. The waitress brought a plate over and had me put my steak on a plate to cook more yet still came back med-rare so I didn't eat it. So much for surf and turf. Wonder if a "regular" would have been asked to eat their sides alone too?! Then the waitress ask "do you want to box your steak" ignoring the issue. Overall, just disappointing for the price we paid this evening. We'll be giving Shanahan's a break. Sometimes that's needed.

Eric M.

Yelp
Cool vibe but food is way overpriced compared to relative quality. My $90.00 "prime" cowboy ribeye steak had a sous vide texture. My supermarket steaks of inferior USDA grade have been far better in flavor and texture
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
OMG Mac n cheese. Rib eye. I was like Sally from a when Harry Met Sally. So good. Go Eat there. You will love it.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our three year anniversary here and were blown away. The hostesses greeted us warmly and wished us a happy anniversary. They welcomed us to get drinks at the bar while our table was getting ready. Our table was decorated with rose petals which was a lovely touch. We started with the Shanahan's salad which was delicious. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We ended with espresso martinis and a chocolate mousse gifted for our celebration. Our waitress was lovely. Overall a 5/5 experience! Made our anniversary so much more special.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Shanahans is unbelievable! It is head and shoulders above any other steakhouse that I have been to. I have been to Ruth Chris, Elways, and ocean prime and no one even comes close to Shanahans. The ambiance of the restaurant is very fancy! It is dark in the restaurant and has a hand full of TV's up that are usually showing sports. The bar is beautiful and the glass wall that has all the different kinds of glasses is awesome. But the best part of the ambiance is the trophy cases where they have 3 of the Lombardi trophy's and many different Super Bowl rings. They will pull them out and let you hold them if it is a special occasion or you can just simply ask. The food is spectacular and I have not had something that I do not like. I have had the fillet and the prime rib and both were outstanding. The best deal on the menu is the Sunday night special where you get an appetizer, entree, two sides, and desert for $89. Some of my favorite sides are the truffle Mac and cheese, the potatoes of any kind, broccoli, and the garlic mashed potatoes. I tried both the chocolate mousse and the cheesecake and they are amazing. The cheesecake is very light and fluffy while the mouse is extremely rich but also fluffy. Now to what I think makes Shanahans the best is the service. I have been to Shanahans 5 times now and every time the service exceeds my expectations. I feel as though the server wants to talk to us and wants to make sure that we have the best experience possible. They genuinely enjoy what they are doing and want to make sure that there isn't anything that could have been done better. I could go on and on but you really just need to go in and experience Shanahan's for yourself. I would highly recommend it!

Yelp
First time visiting Shanahans and was not totally impressed. The Food was good but I have had better steak elsewhere. The service however was incredible. Our server was great!!! The ambience was great as well.

Yelp
Last night our company held our Christmas Party here. We had our own private room and wait staff. This venue is very special. You get to see the tech center light up with Christmas lights and snow. Very cool. Started off the night with a nice spread of finger food. Canapés and cheese. We had a choice of the house salad and Ceasar salad. Crisp and crunchy salad. House salad was assorted greens and dried cranberries. Yellow grape tomatoes. And a nice sweet dressing, I would say a variation on poppy seed dressing.. Then we had a mini crab cake, chilled shrimp cocktail. And a couple of small loafs of fresh baked bread. We had a choice of Filet Mignon, NY Strip, Salmon, and Herb roasted chicken. I had the NY Strip , medium. When our food arrived , staff warned us the plates are hot, don't touch them. Ouch. well, they weren't fooling. My steak was still cooking on the plate. It was tender and very juicy. And great flavor. For our sides. We had AuGratin potatoes, Mac n Cheese, and roasted asparagus. Desert was Honey crumb cheese cake, or Key Lime pie. All in all, this is a fantastic place to socialize and enjoy great food. Very pricey. But well worth it. Make your reservations early. ENJOY.!!!

Yelp
Great service, great atmosphere and most important of all... great food. We ordered everything from appetizers, salads, sides, steak, and fish. Everything was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful time at this establishment. Did I mention we even took pictures with the Lombardi trophy? Nice!

Yelp
I'm going to venture to say that this is the best steakhouse in the Denver area. I no longer live in Colorado but come back every so often for business or to just catch up with friends and family. Whenever I'm looking for a fancy meal With friends, this is the spot. The food, service and ambiance of the place is perfect for a fancy night on the town with friends or even just a romantic date. On this particular visit a few of my friends drove up from the springs to meet me while I was in the nearby tech center on business. We enjoyed several appetizers including raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller and escargot. The escargot was my personal favorite but I enjoyed it all. The four of us shared a 32oz Wagyu Tomahawk with foie gras and several sides including creamed corn, asparagus and lobster Mac and cheese. Steak was cooked perfectly and with the rest of everything we ordered was the right amount of food. We all finished with our own desserts as well as espresso martinis. Probably don't need to get you own dessert as they are huge. Expect to pay fine dining steak house prices. All that food and I would say 3 or 4 rounds of drinks for 4 ended up coming in close to $750 before tip. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Also as a huge broncos fans it's cool they let you take pictures with the Tiffany's replica Super Bowl Trophys and check out Mike Shanahans rings.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Wow! The steak is super yummy. Actually, anything you get there is amazing. The service is off the charts. I love how the manager comes out and visits all of the tables. The total ambiance is wonderful and vibrant.

Yelp
It had been a while since my last visit to Shanahan's, 10 years plus, and I had been talking about it every time we would drive by in the DTC so for Christmas (with me being one of the most difficult people to buy presents for....), my wife opted to take me for a nice dinner. I am glad Shanahan's has remained consistent in their quality and service. From the moment you walk in, you know it will be a high caliber experience. We started off with the Caesar salad. Delicious with white anchovies, parmesan cheese, and the right amount of dressing. The wait staff will add pepper table side if you choose and it's fine pepper so no large flakes in your salad. For a side we opted for the truffle Mac and cheese, absolutely divine. More than enough for two people....the flavors are scrumptious and the texture so creamy. As for entrees, my wife and I both had the Danish Bleu....7 oz filet mignon topped with blue cheese, accompanied by a croquette, and a sauce that blends well with the strong cheese and meat flavors. Our wait staff was attentive but not overbearing, ensured our water glasses were always topped off. The food delivery was well timed. I would definitely love to return, but much sooner than the time between my last visit and this one .

Yelp
Absolutely amazing steak! Would definitely recommend to any steak lover. I ordered the New York Strip 16oz Ribeye cooked medium rare and boy was it cooked to perfection! Couldn't ask for better service either, Robert was very respectful and was there for our every need/want. The only thing is that it was a bit loud and the music choice for Valentines dinner wasn't the best(edm) . Will be back for the food and service though!!!

Yelp
My wife and I went to Denver for our anniversary and chose Shanahan's Steakhouse for our dining experience. The staff was awesome and attentive, which I really miss. We started off with Black Truffle Mac 'n Cheese for an appetizer (Not an appetizer, but the that's what the wife wanted) and it was very good. I had the Center Barrel Cut Filet and Lobster and while the lobster needed another10 seconds in the fire, it was all fabulous! The wife had the Colossal Crab and Prawns which she thoroughly enjoyed, I had never seen such big lumps of crab in a crab cake. The meal was topped off with a special and free dessert that was brought to us for our anniversary. If you ever find yourself in Denver Shanahan's should be a destination for your dinner.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The atmosphere is incredible. The staff here are super friendly, and give great advice. The old fashion was amazing. The oyster was super fresh and had a great flavor. The lobster biscuits was the perfect temperature, and super favorably. The scallop was amazing. The lobster mac & cheese. Was one of the best I have ever had. Stakes here are unbelievable. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
So finally made it to Shanahans after a long time. I live in an area where almost all steakhouses reside so compare time! Once you get inside and walk by the bar you are hit with whatever perfume/Cologne the patrons are wearing but instead of a little spray more like they took a bath in. Once at the table for 4 of us the wait staff felt like we were interrupting their time or tv time and hurried us into ordering. Now for the food and bill! Absolutely nothing and I mean nothing special about the meal or the 2 bottles of wine we ordered. Could have had a bbq in the backyard that would have been better and although we knew around the price of the bill and was willing to pay it there was just that nawing feeling of being let down. Won't be back because there are a lot better steakhouses in the area.

Yelp
Holy smokes this place is great. I had dinner solo at the bar. Expensive but worth every cent!

Yelp
I went to a corporate event in a private room. We had appetizers. I had the Caesar Salad and Scallops, we had several sides including Brussel sprouts. The service was very prompt and polite. The food was very abundant and prepared well. The dinner had so much food which was much richer than I am used to eating so it was too much for me but was a lovely evening. Next time, I would skip the appetizers and salads so that I could have enjoyed the perfectly cooked Scallops. The chocolate mousse was lovely on the plate. Unfortunately, it was too much to eat! Would definitely have a work/client event there.

Yelp
Tried the 36 ounce Wagyu steak Tomahawk. Some of the finest, most tender and delicious steak I've ever had. All the food was good, and the desserts included a true sorbet and an ESPRESSO mousse. Utterly divine dining experience. Highly recommend the cuisine. Only flaw is the wine list. They did not have a sparkling RED bubbly wine: a fine example of which is Brachetto D'Acqui Cocchi. By comparison, "champagne" or similar is a sparkling WHITE bubbly wine. Disappointingly ordinary offerings. But go there for the food, which by contrast is special and outstanding.

Yelp
We recently visited Shanahan's for my birthday. This is the first time at an expensive establishment that I can say it was worth every penny. Valet parking, exceptional service, food on point in every manner, and the atmosphere is exceptional. Definitely one of the most top notch places in Denver.

Yelp
Didn't meet our expectations. Went last week with a group of colleagues and unfortunately, It was not what we expected, the service felt rushed and some of the food we ordered was not cooked as requested. I think you can getter better value for the same price. Next day we went to Eddie V's Prime Seafood and both the ambiance and service was much better.

Yelp
This is my go to place for special dinners in Colorado. Food is great, ambience is high level, and the service is top notch. Best in Denver!
