Food was very good, very fresh. Turkey club was thick, fresh roasted turkey and fresh bacon, plenty of mayo on texas toast. So much food on the platters, but all beef was so tender, potatoes had amazing flavor and weren't "solid" like they had been sitting. Mac n cheese was so good. Won't even mention the cornbread! We will be back. Family friendly.

Google
We’ve been going to this place for several years. The food is consistent and delicious. We love the pulled pork, Mac and cheese and corn bread but our go to meal is Tacos believe it or not! There are several options and they’re fresh and delicious!! Michelle waited on us last night and made us incredible spicy margaritas! She listed off many, many options and ways she could make them. We drove 11 hours to make it to Shane's before closing and we made it!

Shane’s has become one of our favorite local takeout joints. Our waitress was very kind and the other employees we interacted with were eager to take care of their guests, even correcting errors when ordering. The menu is extensive and priced right. My husband loves their various meat plates, his favorite being their smoked brisket. I love their loaded mac and cheese and pulled pork sandwich. The flavor isn’t as spicy as I would like (it is a sweeter sauce) but the meat is always tender and buns are fresh and fluffy. The restaurant has a stage for bands, a full open bar, and a fun outdoor bar with amazing murals. While the drink menu was small, they were happy to make anything. We will visit during the warmer months when the atmosphere is more lively.

Wanted to give this place a shot, looked like a pretty nice environment. Saw the low 4 star rating, and my friend said maybe we shouldn’t go but I wanted to hear them out. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. I had the loaded mac n cheese with pulled chicken and it was very average. My friend got a brisket sandwich and also was not impressed. It wasn’t bad to the point where I wouldn’t eat it, but definitely would never go back. Staff were all nice though and the ambiance in the restaurant was nice! Definitely not the “Authentic Austin BBQ” They are claiming.

Google
Absolutely love this place, I live in Worcester and there’s no good bbq places around in my opinion, I was up in New Hampshire for my bday and tried Shane’s . SO GOOD, everything was amazing BUT THAT SMOKED TURKEY WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD , first time ever having juicy turkey and it was seasoned to perfection corn bread is good all of the sauces you really cannot go wrong with any order from Shane’s had to have it 2 days in a row and some to take home, great place ❤️

Pulled in to try it out on my way home. It was relatively empty. The person at the front was assisting someone, so I waited off to the side. The staff person asked if they could help, so I said, "Just table for one." When finished with the other customer, I was just hanging there in front of them without another word.....after a couple of minutes, I decided to ask if I could just seat myself. Communication? When ordering, I asked about the greens, vinegar or butter and pork flavor. Staffperson defensively advised me that "He got his recipe from Austin,"........ok. still didn't answer my question. After the staff person asked the kitchen staff my question, I decided not to get greens and was explaining that in NE, some places use vinegar, and I miss the buttery pork greens that I used to get when I lived in TX for 15 years, and- they abruptly stopped me with, "I just work here, " before walking away. 😳 fair enough, but some folks just want to know that what they're ordering is something they want. I'm paying, right? So maybe act as though not every question is a challenge. She was nice enough after, but my experience was already a little soured. I got over it. Brisket was tender with a nice crusty rub. Wished it had a little more flavor. The corn bread hunk was really good. Delicious, hard, crusty outside. I would have loved butter with it. It comes with a spread that seems to be some kind of honey spread(?) The taste was peculiar. Anyway, not a bad place.

Google
First time trying Shane's and we were not disappointed. Started with their nachos, added pulled chicken and they were cooked perfectly. The loaded Mac with pulled pork was phenomenal, all of which was made even better with their various BBQ sauces. Service was really good. Def going back! 👍👍

Google
Stopped here by accident today! What a terrific place- food was just great, I had Tex Mex Bowl - thought it was top of my list for fresh and tasty- Husband had Brisket & Rib combo and it was delicious according to him. Sweet service !!!!

Yelp
I'll start off by saying I'm shocked this BBQ spot isn't more busy every day! I have gone here multiple times! I have tried the wings, brisket, pulled BBQ chicken, Mac and cheese, smoked turkey, Cole slaw and their cornbread. Every item I have gotten has been absolutely delicious! They have a wide variety of barbecue sauces. Their jumbo wings are juicy and flavorful! The meat is served in large quantiles and smoked well! The Mac and cheese was some of the best I have ever had! Whether I am dining in or taking out every experience has been amazing! Always get great service from the friendly staff!

Yelp
We used Shane's for a catering lunch. We had brisket, turkey, beans and coleslaw and cornbread. The food was wonderful. Beans had meat in them and everyone loved them. Cornbread comes with honey butter. Meat was tender and great flavor. Will be coming back. Thanks for the great food!!

Yelp
Love the Salt Lick dinner which consists of 2 choices of meat, cornbread and a side. This dish is enough for 2 people with big appetites! Friendly staff, but depends on the staff who happens to be there. :) There is a very cool seating area at the back of the restaurant which is adorned with beautiful murals by local artists. Worth checking out!

Yelp
My wife and myself both had the brisket sandwiches. They were very tasty with a little bit of fat that kept the meat very juicy. Mac N Cheese was very good. Nice clean place with a friendly wait staff. Plenty of parking. Will definitely go back!

Yelp
I was in the area for a sporting event and saw they had collards, a favorite of mine. I placed my order online for a 1 lb order of smoked turkey, 16 oz collards and 8 oz order of baked beans. The order was ready faster than the estimated time, about 10 mins faster (I was alerted via text). When I arrived there were several people sitting at the bar, and three tables seated in the dining area. I could see my takeout order sitting there however, it took close to 10 minutes before anybody acknowledged me at the pickup window. I didn't see any staff, except for the bartender so just waited... I was finally approached by a woman who seemed a little bit frazzled, but was friendly. She grabbed my bagged order and handed it to me. Not much to say about service since it was takeout, but... The beans: really good!! Great flavor, tender and creamy- and there was lots of pork which gave it a nice Smoky flavor. 10/10 would definitely get these again. The collards: definitely lacked depth and that Smoky flavor that you get from cooking with a ham hock or a smoked turkey leg. They were almost somewhat dry and there was no pot likkor in the container. The turkey: the turkey was decent, and some pieces were dry while others were very moist. It did have a nice Smoky flavor and I think with a little sauce it would elevate it. When ordering your given the option of what kind of barbecue sauce you would like with your meat and I requested the vinegar base sauce. This was a big mistake. I probably should have gone with the house sauce because the vinegar sauce was basically ketchup with vinegar. No exaggeration. In summary service was lacking, the food was basic and mediocre but the baked beans were the shining star of this experience. Will I be back? Probably not.

Katherine K.

Yelp
The food is amazing!!! When we are in the area we always stop in for bbq and burritos. The food is always very flavorful. Big portions and the staff is always very pleasant. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and want to have a hearty meal, stop in to SHANE'S!!

Yelp
Ok so when i saw that there was an Austin BBQ joint here in Hampton I had to try it out being from TX and loving bbq. So I ordered the saltlick platter with brisket and pulled pork for my meats and tex-mex collard greens and Mac and cheese for my sides. It came with a big hunk of cornbread but I have to say it's not texas cornbread. It's sweet but not jiffy cornbread sweet it's like pastry sweet so I ended up throwing it out, 0 our of 10 for it. The meats: pulled pork without sauce 7 out of 10, with house sauce 8 out of 10. Brisket I am used to being ask lean or fatty in texas. Here they don't ask and it was Hella fatty which I'm not a fan of. It only had flavor in the flat part of the brisket and not the fatty part. It is definitely not texas bbq. I would rate without sauce 3 out of 10. With sauce 4 out of 10. The sides: collards were decent. Not sure what tex-mex collards are though. I would rate them 7 out of 10. Mac and cheese I would rate 8 out of 10. The bartender lady was super nice and I asked her about where to go for breakfast she said here so I said ok what should I order she said pancakes so I went back the next morning and got a pulled pork omelet and a single pancake. The definitely need more seasoning on all their food. I had to add a ton of salt and pepper but once I did it was a solid 7.5 out of 10. The pancake was a solid 8.5 out of 10.

Yelp
"Overpriced and small servings but good" is really a condensed version of what I want to say. If there was a different bbq joint I would probably go there but hey they got the monopoly and congrats to them.

Yelp
Oh boy. Went in beginning of June. New server who sprayed table wash on us. Didn't get that we wanted drinks while waiting for friends. Another patron was conducting a very long and loud Zoom call (while eating). We had chips and Queso-it was still in the store bought container. Started to rain so went inside. 40 minutes later were told the chef didn't understand our taco order. They all came out wrong however they were delicious. We're in the neighborhood and sent similar message to owner over 6 weeks ago. Haven't heard back. Disappointing as the drinks and dinner food was pretty good. Service was horrible.

Jenna W.

Yelp
Got the loaded mac n cheese with brisket, the brisket was perfect! The Mac n cheese didn't have much flavor, could've used some seasoning. The service and live music was great as well!

Yelp
Not pleased. Ordered the 1/2 lb of baby back ribs. I tried eating just one but found that they were pork spare ribs that seemed par boiled and undercooked. Hardly any meat and definitely too tough. The rub was only on one side and the membrane was not removed nor was the fat trimmed. These are the rest of the ribs that I took home to show how ridiculous they were. I smoke better ribs myself on my smoker. On the good side, the cole slaw and the tacos were very good. My suggestion to Shane: sell what you advertise and do it well. We can't go back because I paid $18 for uneditable food.

Yelp
Don't order from door dash. they gave me the wrong entree and when I called they said it was "drivers" fault. the food might be good but the people suck

Martin G.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch and it was fantastic. Brisket and pulled pork board was perfect and honey bbq wings were great.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Ordered trays from their catering menu which they delivered and everything was great. The brisket in particular was so tender and delicious. The pulled pork and ribs were very good. They make a great barbecue sauce; mac & cheese was creamy and delish and our whole gang really loved the corn bread and honey butter. Will definitely order from them again!

Yelp
Wanted to give this place another shot because bbq is one of them things that can be hit or miss even at the better places. First of all the decor and the outside area in the back are on point. Looks like a fun place to be. However don't let this trick you because the food and service are sub par. Was there for a late lunch and it was not busy. Sat at the bar and wasn't egknowleged for close to 10 minutes.. this became a theme because everything I needed I had to flag someone down. The brisket was dry and the texture left the impression like it was left over from the previous weekend. The "nachos" consisted of tortilla chips covered in bagged shredded cheese that didn't melt quite right and giant chunks of even drier brisket. Finished my drink and had pushed my plate aside shortly after being served and waited another 10 or so minutes for the opportunity to flag the bartender down for the check. I refuse to blame the poor service on the bartender because she was alone and there were a couple small tables and like 6 other people at the bar so I understand. I really wanted to like this spot but unless some real changes are made, I will not be back. 18$ for 1/2lb of shoe leather and lack of proper staffing. 2* is generous.

Jamie M.

Yelp
Food has NO Flavor at all. All the meat we got was overcooked and dry. All the side just had a bland taste to them. Sorry I won't recommend..

Yelp
I would say Shane's is good, but not great. I liked the ribs, but Goody Cole's in Brentwood and Ore Nell's in Kittery are better. I also had nachos which were very good. One of my friends raved about the pulled pork sandwich. If you are in Hampton and don't want to venture far, go to Shane's, but otherwise, go to Goody Cole's or Ore Nell's.

Yelp
First time I went to this place was because I was intrigued mostly by the fact that they are probably one of the only BBQ joints in the country that also serves breakfast! Honestly can't even remember what I got for breakfast but it was okay. Great vibes, good people, had to come back to try their meats. The "Salt Lick" is their 2 meat combo. Brisket came wrapped in butcher paper which automatically spelled "YES!" on the scale for me. Although I might have to change my ruling on the butcher paper rule. Shane's brisket didn't have much bark, a good chunk of fat, texture was stringy corned beef (not necessarily a bad thing at all), black pepper flavor is average, and the fat was a little pasty. Could have melted better. The smoke flavor was very subtle. Not a terrible brisket, just not worthy of Butcher Paper presentation. The Ribs I couldn't even see the bones. Little bit of a rub. Had that meat cap still attached and it was hard to cut through. Flavor was okay, sweet more than anything else, didn't taste like pork to me though. Ribs needed sauce. Meat was very tender, but a lot of fat though. I enjoyed the brisket more. Sauces: House sauce, not bad, cider taste. Downeast bourbon made with downeast cider, Much better! Im a bit of a sucker for that bourbon sweet glaze bbq sauce though. Mac and Cheese looked like lumpy cheese goo but not terrible. A little gritty, not completely goo, pasta could have boiled for a little longer. Overall I was surprised the cheese sauce tasted a bit better than it looked. The Beans actually looked like baked bean style but the beans were hard enough I could tell by just pushing them with my fork. And these must have bee the most flavorless beans I have ever had! The only flavor I could taste was the chili powder and it was super faint. Had to put some of the sauce in there, first time I've ever done that. It didn't even help. Even the chicken was mediocre. It was still definitely smoked chicken but just ... nothing special at all. Cornbread came with a melon ball of butter that was still thawing. It was honey butter but the sugar crystals on it were hard to distinguish if it was just sitting in the fridge for too long.. Cornbread itself was sweet and buttery but not fresh cut. All in all, Shane's I think is a BBQ that even non BBQ seekers would be like "...it's okay". Which is a real shame and I don't like saying it because the place is obviously a BBQ joint. All the menu items are BBQ, they have a real smoker working round the clock. I don't know, just nothing was really sticking with me. But a good bar scene though.

David G.

Yelp
I am so sorry to have to tell you not to come here! Truly. They try. We've been here 4-5 times since they opened; Summers. Winter. Fall. Each time we hope it's gotten better but, it remains mediocre at best. Tonight, Saturday night, it's empty. My wife and I are the only customers. I ordered the 3 meat, plate with cornbread, collard greens and mac& cheese. Everything arrived cold to mildly warm. No use complaining. And the brisket, pulled pork and ribs tasted exactly the same. No flavor. So, we drenched everything in bbq sauce to add some kinda flavor. We ate what we could, paid our $85(with tip) for the 2 of us and left, vowing never to return. And, by the way, we live 2 streets over and would absolutely live here every week, if only they could get just a little bit better!!!!

Yelp
We were looking for some good food off the main drag and were in the mood for BBQ, Shane's exceeded expectations. Outdoor seating was full, so we took a seat inside. The waitress was very upfront that the kitchen was behind due to a large party of like 16 seated inside and the full seating outside. Even with the expected delay, we placed our order. The waitress was awesome and very engaging with my two kids, sparking up convos each time she walked by, while we waited for our food. She even helped take a picture of us in front of the cool indoor "Shane" sign. The food came after about 30mins of waiting, which was inline with that waitress forewarned. We dug in immediately, forgetting to take a picture of the food until a few bites were taken. My son said the burger was one of the best he had ever had. My daughter and I ate all the ribs and loaded Mac w/ pulled pork. Definitely take advantage of the variety of BBQ sauces. The House was our favorite. Definitely recommend heading away from the tourist traps on the beachfront and checking out Shane's for some good BBQ.

Yelp
The food was overcooked and dry. Since I need to use at least 85 characters I'll leave it at that.

Yelp
Slow service, they only care about serving their workers who show up and win all the bingo games. Me and two friends went Tuesday night for tacos, drinks, and bingo. When we arrived there was only one other table with people and a couple people at the bar. We ordered a few tacos and another table arrived next to us. Our waitress never came back to us. The table that arrived after us got their food and finished eating before we got ours. We could see our tacos sitting in the window, but our waitress was hanging out at the bar. The finally brought over our tacos after 20+minutes and they were organized wrong so they were taken away and we had to wait another 15 minutes. By the time I finally got mine they were cold. I never even got the option to order a drink. Our waitress only showed up to bring us the bill, another guy had to deliver our food. Do not recommend this place. The other table was a worker, who bragged about that, and her large group. The won 3/4 bingos to use the gift cards on her already discounted/free meal. And when my friend finally won the last bingo they booed at us and were very disrespectful. If you don't work here or know someone who does, DO NOT go here. They were not busy and we got awful service and cold food.

Daniel Gravelle ..

Yelp
Outstanding bbq! We have driven by several times but never had time to stop until today. We were there right when they opened. No wait. We ordered turkey, brisket, Mac and cheese and baked beans to go! Everything was excellent. We typically lean towards bbq if we go out to eat and have had bbq at many places and this place is legit. Excellent food, good portion sizes and delicious. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again!

Ron C.

Yelp
The ribs were awful. Dry, fatty and tasteless. Fries were soggy. Great atmosphere. Too bad.

Yelp
It always seems like a good idea; the inside looks like a fun classic dive bar, outside is great and looks like Wynwood walls in Miami.. but the FOOD IS TERRIBLE AND SO IS THE SERVICE. The service here is not good, though, and food equally bad. Pulled pork is usually morally and has large barely cooked globs of undercooked fat. They have no idea what pastors tacos or meat is... the brisket is tender but doesn't have the dense smoke/crisp layer with char and rendered fat that is characteristic of good smoked meat... Burgers are okay, but nothing is that Smokey, and seems like every possible careless shortcut is taken. . Got the salad and it was supposed to have smoked cherry tomatoes, pulled chicken and avocado on it... we'll, they did t have the smoked cherry tomatoes and did t bother to tell me until after I asked when it arrives, and argued that it wasn't even On the menu; I pointed out that it was... they just shrugged and said they didn't have it. The avocado was crappy prepackaged grocery store /lunchables style guacamole, and the chicken was not smoky, but lightly tossed in a sweet bbq sauce. It was lettuce with bad chicken in it and I would expect higher quality from Wendy's let alone an overpriced bbq place that claims to be Austin/ Texas style. They are slow to bring things out, food is cold; the waiters wait and wait to bring it over. They don't give information about the food- and we're inexplicably huffy when I asked what drinks were available with the kids menu... she didn't even realize it was on there... there's more, but it was just very unpleasant overall. I've been here 4 times and never recieved a correct order... one of the waitresses was very kind about it, and was helpful when we were there in March... but I'm done with his place now... all four/five service people working seemed not to know what they were doing. It was adequately staffed, bur just incompetent.

Yelp
I tried their brisket sandwich at HamptonBeach seafood festival and it was delicious. So following weekend went to the sit down restaurant. Plenty of room in dining room with several big TVs with sports on. We got brisket and bbq cut up chicken. Sides were cole slaw and possibly the worst thing I've tasted. The beans. They had no flavor, no salt, pepper, heat, sweet. Nothing. If you go there ask to sample the beans. They took it off the bill but still disappointed that this was actually served. Brisket was good and my wife enjoyed the bbq chicken. We also got half rack of ribs that were devoured. The bark was sensational on the ribs. Really good food other than the beans, but they were so bad they take the score down.

Yelp
As a man coming from the DFW Texas area, I must say this is by far from Texas BBQ. The sweet tea was not sweet at all, it was too watered down and luckily they had Shiner to save the day (even though it was in a can). I ordered 1/2lb of brisket and what I ordered was no where near 1/2lb a pound, it was only like one slice (I wish I took a picture of it), I was not even full. If y'all wanna know what 1/2lb looks like then look up the 407 BBQ in Justin Texas. But I will say it was cooked nice and was juicy. The music selection was not there either, if y'all are gonna claim to be "Texas" then don't play "old town road" and Luke Bryant "play it again" rather y'all should play Cody Johnson, Aaron Watson, George Straight, Randy Rogers Band, Josh Abbott Band etc... The service though was good, and the atmosphere was alright, but I'd really suggest y'all go to Texas and visit legit places and see how they operate then y'all would be getting a five stars from me. For reference see picture below as to how a 1/2lb should look. Not the one slice of brisket that I received here.

Yelp
Back again last night with a group of 7. I had a very stressful day & decided to be there earlier than the meeting time. So I arrived just before 5 hoping for a few minutes to unwind. There were several people there mostly at the bar. tables on the other side of the place were filling up. I ordered a drink and chilled. Within minutes, one by one people started joining me. We took up the only large table they have. I decided on having something different than usual. I chose the nachos with guac. Some got tacos. My dining companion to my right had some kind of brisket meal. Another chicken wings . I did also see a quesadilla on the table. Well, usually nachos are pretty straight forward? Simple ingredients put together with chips & melted cheese. This order was evidently broiled in foil. The cheese was glued to the foil to the point where it had nearly welded itself to it. Impossible to separate it from it's anchor. In truth I shouldn't even be eating cheese. So maybe this was a good thing, limiting me. I ended up picking at what I could. I also ordered a piece of cornbread . What I got was a chunk about 2 inches high by 4 inches long and butter. The butter - again something I definitely shouldn't have was a smoked honey butter. I've had honey- butter before. But the smokiness took the whole thing to a different level. And it seemed that a little bit went a long way. Just after 6 a musician began playing guitar and singing.. perfect entertainment for this type of venue. It may have been just an off night..or some kind of fluke. But I definitely won't be ordering the nachos again. The cornbread, a definite yes. We've already made plans to return in a few weeks.. what to try next ?
google avatar

J G.

Yelp
Never again. We tried it a second time and once again it was awful. We ordered a to go. My husbands brisket was the burned end of the brisket. That was it. He had beans and Mac and cheese which was clumpy and cold. The corn bread was hard. I actually banged it on the table and it made a noise and didn't break apart. Not sure how a $78 meal for two people is this awful. We had it once before and again same type of quality. We figured they have been hyping it up the photos online look good we will give them a second chance. Bad decision. This BBQ joint doesn't know how to do BBQ at all. Let alone ensure quality food for customers. No thank you!

John D.

Yelp
Had the plate with two meat and two sides. Brisket was fantastic. The only issue... there was one huge piece of fat. Once removed I was left with less than half of the brisket. That's ok was still very good. Pulled pork was also good. Had to use salt but still very good. Much less fat. Collard greens had some pork in it and had a small kick to it. Greens above average. Baked beans, they could have done better. Overall this is well above average when it comes to BBQ. Corn bread.. sweet as you would expect. Awesome!! They have an outdoor patio if that interests you. I'll definitely be coming back.

Cliff T.

Yelp
Food was excellent service last time we were there was outstanding tonight sucked, when you have to ask your servers for a plate ... not attentive at all very sad ! Entertainment was first class

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try and it was decent. The inside is spacious and pretty and the staff was nice! We got guacamole for an appetizer and it was rather bland and I didn't care for the chips they served with it. The pulled pork was pretty good and the ribs were deliciously seasoned with dry rub. I also really enjoyed the smoked sausage and potato salad. However the brisket was a little dry & fatty and the mac and cheese was just alright. The bbq sauces weren't the worst but they seemed to have too much cumin for my liking. Lastly, the strangest part.. The first mango ice tea I got was literally one of the greatest I had ever had. However when I got a refill it didn't at all taste like the first one and super disappointing.

Yelp
Any BBQ joint that invokes the word "Texas" does so at its own peril in my estimation. I am fortunate to live a short drive from Prause In LaGrange, City Market in Luling, Smitty's, Black's & Kreuz in Lockhart..plus Taylor, Llano, Driftwood etc. I do not tolerate pretenders for profit. Period. No one is more surprised than me to say that in my experience Shane's presents the best and most authentic CenTX brisket I've found to date beyond a 60-mile radius of Austin. I am stunned to be writing this about a very attractive place on the New Hampshire Seacoast. Salt, pepper, and smoke (not post oak, but fine local oak). Textbook smoke ring, black pepper crust, and sliced to perfect thickness. This is meat candy at its finest. I have no idea whether their sides or anything else are worthy. I'm sure they are, but frankly, if it's Texas barbecue it just doesn't matter. Get a few pounds of brisket to go. Slice an onion, get some pickles, jalapeños, white bread (or saltines) and avocados. Grab a Shiner if you can find one (they're actually available in New England). Utensils and sauce irrelevant. All that's missing is the red-purple butcher paper. Thank you, Shane and company. Five stars for the immensely satisfying brisket alone.

Yelp
Really wanted some good BBQ... the protein was good but that's about it. Very vinegary taste to everything so it was hard to enjoy it. Mac & Cheese bland as well. So 'authentic' was in the name but not flavors.

Yelp
Everything's bigger in Texas....and Shane's, including the bill. Outside-Limited parking apparently is not an issue if youre not expecting to be busy. Inside-The open prep space used for cooking appeared disorganized and some of the luster in "granny's 'ol bean recipe" is lost when I can see the dirty pot they reside in askew and dry boiling on the stove unattended. Portion v. Cost- Wow $34 for what I assumed (that one's on me) would be more than food for one proved incorrect. The "Big Texas" only applied to the final bill- take out to boot. Product- Being semi-travelled and well versed in the time/temp game this was no religious BBQ experience. The intention is good and flavors are correct but my home grill and patience easily reproduce a similar result. Save the money, make some memories and do BBQ with friends at home, even consider...dare I mention another Brahma bull-esque establishment. You wont leave there hungry and your vintage rawhide wallet wont be the cattle byproduct that comes to mind reminiscing about dinner.

Yelp
Placed an order online, came to pick up before closing time, and surly guy on his way out says "we're closed." I tell him I am here to pickup an online order and be tells me they didn't make it because they decided to close early. I emailed restaurant on their website to express my disappointment and they didn't even bother to reply. It has been a week. If a restaurant is closong early, the least they can do is shut off online ordering. If they receive an order they don't want to fulfill, the least they can do is call or cancel order on online system. If they screw up the least they can do is apologize. Not this place - never again.

Yelp
We have ordered a few times in the past and this is a good choice in the past but I suppose times have caught up to them. tonight we got a piece of brisket and it was over 1/3 pure fat. Being that they only sent one piece that's all there was at the price. But I also get the rising cost of everything. The ribs were good and made up for the brisket. but then there was the nachos. We don't really understand why they were soaked in bbq sauce and cheese with absolutely zero sour cream and guacamole. This indicates not only lack of quality control now but also a lack of even basic knowledge of what they advertise that their menu. It was disgusting and they were closed as we got our order from door dash. Disgusting. how do you get bbq sauce and nachos taste out of your mouth? asking for a friend.

Yelp
Just got home from lunch a Shane's. We ate tacos that were so creative and delicious. The Salty Cowboy was incredible- juicy pork belly with an amazing crispy crust, fresh sriracha shrimp, cilantro, onions, mandarins and fresh pineapple combine to make a fantastic taco. We also loved the creamed corn, very flavorful with great seasonings. Can't wait to go back- the back patio is so creative and fun, especially the Winnebago camper booth. It would be a great place for a bachelorette party, a bridal shower, even a rehearsal dinner.

Yelp
Good, not great. Molly, our server, welcomed us warmly and explained that they are an Austin based restaurant. I asked if they had a location in Austin and she said that they were the only location. They are just "inspired" by Austin. Brisket was soft and tasty. Ambiance is similar to Mission BBQ sans the Americana. BBQ sauce is super sweet and the hot sauce has no heat. Prices are reasonable and it's nice to have a new place in this location. Parking is awful!

Yelp
On a trip back to my home town I finally got to see how Hampton does barbecue. Having spent a lot of time since my college years in the south I have tried a lot of different kinds of barbecue and developed a love for it. I was intrigued when I saw that the former flats spot was now home to a place that advertises themselves as a Texas barbecue joint but unfortunately it would be a few years before I made my way here. This past Memorial Day my family and I took advantage of their outdoor seating underneath a tent they had set up. We were the first ones to arrive and were given our choice of picnic tables. The service was a little slow at first as they seemed to have just opened but eventually it picked up. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. It was delicious! The meat was tender and paired with pepper jack cheese made for a delicious sandwich. I would love to come back and sit at the bar when the climate allows.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a year and finally, despite the "Rona" I had my chance this past week. I will say if you are looking at the menu on line or on yelp you are going to be disappointed when you get there. They have changed the menu and much of what is out there for items aren't when you get to the restaurant. It's definitely a Tex-Mex kinda a place and honestly is probably even more fusion than Tex-Mex. Tacos are small... very small (think street taco). But they are full of flavor. Just not much in the way of filling, especially protein. Had the Asada, Salty and Carnitas. All were good. In the way of BBQ, which is in the name, there wasn't much of a selection. Primarily sandwiches. The fresh guacamole was pretty good, although my girlfriend didn't care for the chips. To each their own on that front. Decent place, friendly staff, but prices are kinda steep for street tacos. $50 for 4 tacos, a sausage link, guacamole and 2 drinks. I love BBQ and this wasn't a true BBQ joint. I doubt I'll be back.

Yelp
***Update*** I haven't been back in yet, but Scott reaches out to me and said they're making some changes. The willingness to accept constructive criticism and the responsiveness to feedback is worth another star in and of itself. I'm actually looking forward to trying them again and hopefully boosting the review to 4 or 5 stars. My Wife and I have tried the food here a couple times and had high hopes...LOVE BBQ! The people who work there are accommodating and nice. The food needs more attention. The brisket has been dry each time we've had it. Not sure if we're catching them on off days or what, but with the prices they charge there should never be an off day. The mac & cheese was gloopy each time, as was the creamed corn. The creamed corn is also grainy, almost like there's flour used as a thickener that hasn't cooked out. The collard greens were eye squinting tangy... and that's a good thing! The coleslaw is really great too, and so is the cornbread. Unfortunately, until & unless they start getting the meat right, I'll be driving to Byfield for my BBQ. The Rusty Can does the meat right. Similarly priced, but definitely worth the drive. If someone from Shane's reads this, please go try the Rusty Can's brisket sandwich with egg. If you can make that magic happen here in Hampton I'll update this review and be forever in your debt. That sandwich is my kryptonite, it's the go to c

Yelp
First time, won't be the last time. Had the Saltlick plate. I chose 1/4 lb pulled pork 1/4 lb pulled chicken, cole slaw and doubled up on the cornbread. The only thing I would do different is take a pass on the cole slaw. Everything else was GREAT. Speed of service, friendly staff. Even purchased a bottle of their bbq sauce.

Yelp
Terrible terrible terrible. we were invited to go see the band on a Wednesday night, the band was very very good. The drinks however we're not. My friend got a beer and the plastic cup was only 3/4 full. My wife got a drink and it was terrible tasting had way too much alcohol. Another person ordered nachos, you needed a ax to get the pieces of pot. It looked like they cooked it then cooked it again, terrible terrible terrible. That will be the last time we go there.

Yelp
Tonight I wanted Pizza, but after searching the yep of pizza places opened in Hampton I called Lenas which was supposed to be open but no one picked up, yet their phone message said they were open today, but Boone answered! So we called for barbecue at Shane's, curbside pick up, they answered we got dry rub brisket and Potatoe salad! Good choice, it was delicious! We drove up, Someone came out with a mask and was not disappointed. It was very good! Thank you!

Yelp
Good service. Average food . Clean place nothing stood out at all.. kind of forgettable. Might go back, perhaps I missed the two experience. Including my party was a total of 7 people in the place.

Yelp
Visiting New Hampshire for the first time and being from Austin and owning a BBQ restaurant, figured we would see if Shane is coming close to living up to his sign. Will say to my surprise, he has done his homework and has successfully brought Texas BBQ to the NE. The atmosphere and staff are five stars. Food is 3 to 4 depending on the meat selected but all received a passing grade from this Texan who knows BBQ.

Yelp
Delicious Hidden gem is the Mac n cheese not gooey But firm and cheesy with a outstanding taste -what a surprise- Pork rib sandwich had a light and tasty smoke flavor with added vinegar based Bbq sauce it took the tender rib sandwich to another level - We were the first ones in at 430pm And at 5:15 20 cars were in the lot When you walk in your in a different world and forget your in Hampton Nh I will say it's a cool place all around and hidden from the main drag One thing missing ....a BIG Honking red neon sign "SHANES Bbq" on the wall

Yelp
The vibe of this place is amazing. It's a BBQ joint bar with live music and the feel of a place you would see in Texas. A full bar and 16 beer taps. Mac and cheese- 7.5/10 - a thick coating of cheese with a subtle flavor. Hot and gooey and just the type of Mac and cheese you're looking for with BBQ. A good reset from the Smokey flavor. Ribs- 8/10 - a dry rub rib with no sauce at all. The rub has phenomenal flavor and the meat falls off the bone. The meat as a little dried out but the flavor was so good I didn't mind. Brisket- 6/10- the brisket is cooked perfectly. It stays together but it is melt in your mouth tender. It has a meaty flavor but that is where the flavor stops. The bark has no fever able flavor to it and leaves you wanting more of a flavor burst. It's the type of brisket that sauces are made for. I recommend the raspberry sauce with it. Pulled pork- 10/10- I'm not usually a pulled pork fan so I was hesitant getting it. I couldn't have been more wrong. This is the most flavorful pulled pork I have ever had. It has a perfect smoke level with the meat flavor mixed in and a crust that will knock your taste buds into the next county. This is the perfect pulled pork Corn bread- 8/10- this is a desert. It comes with a dollop of butter on the warm corn bread. I instantly cut the bread and spread the butter along the middle. When I took a bite I could have sworn I was eating cake. The outside has a good crust with a fluffy inside and a not a subtle hint of cake frosting? I'm not sure what gave it that taste but I know I wasn't complaining. Cole slaw- 6/10- a home made thick sliced cole slaw that isn't quite a creamy slaw and isn't quite a vinegar slaw. The spices put in it come through loudly and are pretty over powering.
