the best dining experience ever! the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the top-level hospitality and the unreal atmosphere. every tiny detail in this beautiful restaurant is well-thought and it really shows. the food was simply exceptional. we had five spice chicken, dim sums, fried squid, the legendary peking duck, desserts and absolutely loved every bite. every single dish is a work of art and the flavours are just divine. don’t even get me started with the legendary duck, it was simply perfect, and the serving of it is an incredible show itself. special compliments go to our incredible waiter Aleksandr, who went above and beyond all the expectations being so attentive, giving all the recommendations as well as the best service possible, and telling us fascinating stories behind every dish. another recognition is very needed for the restaurant manager Rauno, who made us feel so incredibly welcomed and made our special night absolutely unforgettable. highly recommend to everyone, even if you are not a frequent restaurant-goer. the unique atmosphere, the delicious food, the team of true professionals… ShangShi is truly one of a kind!😍

We visited together with our daughter and had a wonderful evening together. We started off with the dim sum, both steamed and deep fried. Exquisite ingredients, excellent preparation and innovative, delicious combinations of flavours. We continued with braised pork belly (sadly, they ran out off the crispy one), lamb chops accompanied with side dishes of steamed jasmine rice and the asparagus and water chestnut. We ordered each of the three deserts, moved them around for more of a sharing experience. Excellent wines (no need to go for the more expensive options) as well as sublime tea complemented the food. The interior exhumes richness and perfection in its design and choice of materials, all to be complemented by a service close to perfection of the outstanding staff. By far the best Cantonese restaurant we’ve ever visited, which we highly recommend for an elusive dining experience!

We were very lucky to get a table last minute, and it turned out to be one of the best meals I’ve ever had, definitely the best in Tallinn. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, everything was exceptional: the warm, attentive staff, the atmosphere, and every single dish. I dined here a month ago and I’m still thinking about it. An unforgettable experience.

What a delightful restaurant! We knew this was going to be a good restaurant based on prior reviews, but our experience far exceeded our expectations. Shang Shi specializes in authentic Cantonese cuisine and they prioritize giving the customer an exquisite culinary experience - this is embedded in their name "Shang Shi" (Royal Feast). We tried the golden fried soft shell crab and the stir fried squid with pepper for our appetizer. We were highly impressed by the quality of the seafood. They were cooked to perfection for the batter to be perfectly crispy and the squid/crab to melt in your mouth. We then got the Mapo Tofu (with beef) and Kung Pao Prawn with Cashew. The sauce that came with the prawn dish was absolutely delicious. Once again the seafood quality was top notch. While the Mapo Tofu was delicious, I thought it could use a little more spice and depth of flavor. Our experience was further enhanced by our extremely knowledgeable server. I didn't quite catch her name but she was of Filipino origin. We truly appreciated how she took the time to explain every single dish and give us recommendations based on what flavors we liked. I understand that this restaurant is currently listed in the Michelin Guide and they are striving to achieve a Michelin Star. I wish them all success and hope to be back again!

A truly delightful experience! The relaxing atmosphere set the perfect tone, and the food impressed with its amazing textures and flavors. I loved the thoughtful details, like the charming menu illustrations, elegant chopstick holders, and unique chopsticks. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, making the evening even more enjoyable. We visited Shang Shi restaurant to celebrate Chinese New Year, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! Every little detail in this place is so carefully thought through—from the beautifully presented food to the warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff’s hospitality made us feel truly welcome, and the live singer added such a magical touch to the evening. A huge thank you to the entire restaurant team, especially our waitress Alina, who took such excellent care of us, and to the manager, who ensured that every guest had an unforgettable experience. Celebrated Women’s Day at Shang Shi with my mother. Customer service was excellent and smooth, food was amazing and full of flavours. Between courses they offered tea ritual and little bites.The whole dining experience was like a journey in cantonese cuisine. Staff even gave us roses after dinner what made the whole experience even more memorable. Worth visiting and definitely recommend 💯

Great foods, original taste , best service by Ricardo! The Peking duck was amazing. You have to pre order 1 day. I can’t believe they offer this kind of restaurant in such small town and they will be boutique hotel coming well done!
