Yelp
I went to this place since the unapproved reviews seemed to think highly. I went in and did not receive any acknowledgement of my presence, so I sat myself and looked at the menu. I ordered wonton soup, mini pupu platter A (which comes with crab rangoons, spring rolls, chicken wings and boneless pork) and a pork lo mein. At no point was I offered or given water or tea, which is a little odd in my book for an American restaurant.
The soup came out and was weak with little flavor. The lo mein came out before the platter, though the platter is the appetizer. I didn't mind since I was hungry when I went here, so food was food, but it does speak to their organizational skills in running the kitchen. The lo mein was good, probably 3.5/5, and definitely the best part of the meal. When the pupu came out I knew I was in for a let down: The rangoons were thick shelled, and the filling was mostly cream cheese with little flavoring otherwise; the spring rolls were bland and greasy; the wings were decent, worth eating if you wanted to get an order of them; the boneless pork, while cooked well, was coated with a thick, syrupy sauce which overrode the pork itself. All this was served with a fluorescent sweet and sour sauce, no duck sauce for this fine establishment.
There are better places around, with actual parking lots, a staff that attends to your visit, and food you can enjoy. Unless you live within sight of this place, go elsewhere.
