Amazing! Super clean inside and quick service. Top notch sit down Chinese restaurant. The wonton soup was great. Savory broth, good wonton, and cheap. Chicken Lo Mein was plentiful! Sauce was great, and noodles stir fried just right. Extremely reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food.

We came as a somewhat large group after a conference session. They accommodated our party relatively quickly, and the service was amazing. I ordered the chicken with broccoli combination, which came with an egg roll, rice, and soup. I got the wonton soup and white rice to go along with my egg roll and entree. The food was delicious and certainly hit the spot. The portions were very generous for the price, as well. I got to take leftovers back to my hotel to enjoy at a later time. The staff were very attentive. One staff member heard me drop my utensil from across the room and a replacement was immediately offered to me, which I was impressed with. I highly recommend dining here!

Great food with a wonderful atmosphere! I eat here as often as I can these days. And for the “Foodies” out there like me, they have house hot mustard! This should be a staple at every Asian restaurant!

Agree with some of the other reviews. Not sure what happened to this place. Used to be a good go-to for some good Chinese food. Ordered takeout (Sweet & Sour Chicken). Chicken must have been re-heated or refried, because the breading was a darker brown than when cooked fresh and several pieces of the chicken were inedible (too tough). Last time I'm going here for a while.

Great food and amazing service! The wait staff was unbelievable attentive, friendly, and helpful. Shanghai's menu features a great variety of traditional, true Chinese dishes (ex several versions of stir fried yu choi, egg and tomato, etc) as well as American Chinese restaurant favorites. Their flavors are varied and delicious, and they still bring out a pot of hot tea with the meal. As a bonus, their prices are very reasonable.

My favorite Chinese food in Durham. Friendly staff and fast service. We used to get take out and thought it was good. We finally came and ate in the store and wow, It was even better somehow. Very fast and delicious if you eat in. We’re vegan and find plenty of delicious options. My favorites are the Sesame Tofu and Vegetable Lo Mein. Don’t forget to grab a couple Vegetable Spring Rolls and some sweet iced tea!

Food came in fast. All three dishes were too salty for my taste. Overall food was mediocre. Service was good, and restaurant's sanitation grade was 100.

Of course we had to go to Shanghai Restaurant for Chinese New Year dinner! The food is absolutely amazing and the portions are huge. Everything we ordered took less than 20 minutes to prepare. Tonight’s menu consisted of fried shrimp balls and dumplings appetizers then entrées of sesame chicken, sesame beef, and salt pepper shrimp with a side of garlic yu choy. Honestly, my Chinese mother would be impressed. Also, if you’ve not been to Shanghai in a while, you’re in for a treat. The restaurant has been newly renovated and it looks so good. It still has the authentic Chinese restaurant feel but with a modern twist. Thank you Shanghai for helping us kick off the Year of the Tiger with great food. 🥟🧧🐅
