Ordered online delivery. For the price its was ok quality and size, good experience except for one item. Decent texture on Noodles, xiaolongbao had a very fresh smell of dough and a lot of soup in each. The fried pork was disappointing, its basically pork katsu put into a bowl.

Been wanting to try this place. But somehow my wife and boys went there before me. They said it was really good. So today after kids sports, we went there. Love the vibe, service and the menu ordering simplicity. Everything we ordered were good. My boys loving the xiao long bao.. steamed dumpling. They kinda burst the juice in your mouth. Not too hot, it was perfect. The shanghai prawns were good, crispy that you can even eat the shells. We will def come back again and thank you for awesome food and service.

ShangHai Taste (Southwest) is a standout for lovers of authentic Shanghainese cuisine in Las Vegas. Every meal for us starts the same way — with their cold Kao Fu, a beautifully textured, slightly sweet braised wheat gluten dish that sets the tone for what’s to come. From there, we usually can’t resist their signature fried chicken — crisp, juicy, and perfectly seasoned — easily one of the most craveable items on the menu. Of course, no visit is complete without an order (or two) of their famous xiao long bao (soup dumplings), which rival the best you’ll find anywhere in town. Thin-skinned, delicate, and packed with rich broth, they’re a must-try, but we also like to mix things up depending on our mood. The Shanghai shrimp and pork dumpling soup is lighter but packed with flavor, while the fish dumplings offer a subtle, clean counterpoint. ShangHai Taste’s casual setting, quick service, and consistently excellent food make it a regular spot for us — whether we’re craving a comforting solo meal or sharing a table full of dishes with friends.

Ordered take out after a long work day and it was delicious. I ordered the Spicy Wonton in Chili Oil Sauce, Beef Xiao Long Bao, Shanghai Sheng Jian, and Traditional Shanghai Xiao Long Bao. The dumplings were tasty and fresh. Highly recommend!

Google
Nice dim sum place near the house. Sat down immediately. Friendly amd fast service. Menu already on table for fast ordering. Everything we orders was delicious and hot. Always always in need variety so always have food to take home. Soup, pan fried and chili oil dumpling a must and I couldn't pass up on the beef and Oyster mushrooms with fried rice. All I can say it was plenty and my kids were happy with what was brought home. Will come back again.

Google
5 stars for food. 4.7 if you include service. The traditional xiao long basis the best i have had anywhere. Pork ribs are amazing, oyster mushrooms and beef is great and hearty. Service is lacking feel due to lack of orgination .

I'm sad to say that this place turned out to be an expensive disappointment for us. To be fair, there's not much bad I can say about the dumplings and those are the main event but the rest of it wasn't good at all. I'm giving the second star for the dumplings. My general rule is that if i end up throwing out my leftovers because I don't like them, you have failed completely, and these leftovers definitely got tossed. My wife didn't even like the dumplings. Just for reference, we love the dumplings at Chinamama and Din Tai Fung, as well as the Magic Noodle so it isn't that we don't like this kind of food. Everything aside from the dumplings was under-flavored and/or dried out. the fried rice was one of the things that got tossed because it was swo flavorless and dry. All of the noodle dishes we purchased were so under-flavored that we ended up propping them up with soy sauce, vinegar and/or hot sauce. We spent over $100 & were let down pretty aggressively. The space was fine although I'm not sure what point everyone got together and decided to ditch comfortable seating for a more austere aesthetic. The staff were very attentive and the only reason we didn't address the quality issue with them was that it wasn't just one or two dishes, it was everything other than the dumplings and that just demonstrates that this is the way that they do it so asking them to try again is just a waste of everyone's time. There were 3 of us dining and we all agreed that this was the case. I'm sure there are people that like this but if I have to prop up an expensive meal with condiments, I'm going to be unhappy because i can do that at home with a mid-range instant ramen bowl.

Google
We tried the steamed Xiao Long Bao, pan fried Sheng Jian Bao, Rice cake, and Crispy Shrimp. The Sheng Jian Bao had a nice crunchy bottom, chewy wrap and juicy meatball filling. The Xiao Long Bao had dense rubbery meat filling. The Shrimp had a light batter with slightly sweet and salty glaze. The stir fried rice cake was the best dish with tender rice cake slices and ‘wok hei’ flavor.

Yelp
My only regret is I didn't try ShangHai Taste sooner! After months of seeing the restaurant pop up on recommended places to eat in the area, and driving by a dozen of times my friend and I finally had the chance to stop in and give it a try ourselves. We joined the waitlist on a Sunday via Yelp, our wait time was roughly 20 minutes - just enough time for us to drive there and get situated. We were seated immediately upon walking in, right next to the kitchen where they have clear windows to see the cooks in the kitchen! It was a delight to see the Xiao Long Bao's being made fresh, seeing the amount of work put into making each delightful dumpling makes you appreciate the food a little more. You're given a menu on the table, and you'll mark off what you want. Photos in the menu definitely help you choose what to order. We ordered a handful of items, some of the pictured here - others were not so lucky to be featured but were just as delicious, like the fried noodles with chicken, and crispy fried pork chops. Note: dessert chocolate xiao long bao is the perfect way to end your experience here!

Yelp
Great having a Shanghai Taste in the Southwest! Traditional food, well prepared and good service. The restaurant is small and well kept with configurable tables. It is the modern industrial look so don't expect a lot of theme. The food is the star of the show and it shines bright. We love coming here for solid soup dumplings with having to go all the way to Chinatown. This place is worth you visiting.

Yelp
I have visited Shanghai taste on spring mtn road numerous times. It's always packed, I recently ordered food from southwest branch, to avoid the traffic. Same good food. Friendly staff.

Yelp
This is my first time going to this new location, I've previously been to their Chinatown location. Overall everything was decent, would likely come back to order other items. I've heard great things about their shrimp & cucumber XLB but unfortunately they were sold out today. The items I ordered are: - traditional Shanghai pork XLB: overall good with good amount of soup, but a bit saltier than expected - shanghai pork sheng jian: taste was excellent, great balance of sweet and savory, but the outer wrapper was too thick for me - pork ribs: excellent, my favorite dish here, very tender and good balance of sweet and savory - spicy pork wontons in chili oil: the wontons themselves were excellent, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce/broth, it tasted like water mixed with chili oil without any depth of flavor - seasonal vegetable: when we asked the wait staff what the veggie was, they told us bok choy so we ordered it. But they gave us Yu choy instead. It was still good even though it was unexpected Ambiance is excellent, very modern atmosphere. It was a bit difficult to get the attention of the wait staff at times, but it didn't bother me too much. Neither factor into my rating, my rating is just for food.

Yelp
Service & Ambiance: Visited on a busy Saturday during lunch, and despite the crowd, the restaurant maintained a nice balance--it wasn't too loud, so conversation was easy. The setup was charming, with an open kitchen where you can watch the skilled ladies making dumplings, which added a fun and authentic touch to the experience. The staff worked hard, with only two servers and one cleaner managing the floor while the kitchen was bustling. Food: * Shanghai Crispy Shrimp (5/5): A must-try! Perfectly saucy and flavorful without being overly salty. The shell is crispy and well-seasoned--absolutely loved it. * Pork and Shrimp Wonton Soup (5/5): Another standout. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the wontons were generously meaty with skins that held up beautifully without breaking. * Xiao Long Bao - Crab Yolk (5/5): These soup dumplings were the highlight of the meal! Soupy, flavorful, and expertly crafted to hold together when picked up with chopsticks. Definitely a top contender, comparable to the best Xiao Long Bao spots. These can be share family style. Overall: Shanghai Taste delivers on flavor and authenticity. With its lively atmosphere, hardworking staff, and standout dishes like the Xiao Long Bao and crispy shrimp, it's a spot worth visiting for dumpling and soup lovers alike. Highly recommended! Glad I found this little gem on a random Saturday.

Yelp
A friend invited me out to lunch. It's my 3rd time here in like 3 months. The weather was cloudy and it was cold, so we opted for some soup. Me and my friend got the Wonton Soup with pork and bak choy, Spicy Wonton, and the soup dumplings. Everything was good. The soup was fine, but will probably try something next time. Service was good and the ambiance was nice and not too crazy busy.

Yelp
We have had great experiences at ShangHai Taste Southwest. We've ordered take out once and dined in once. Both times the food was delicious. Here's what we've ordered- Shanghai fried noodles - my personal favorite. I love the chewy texture of the noodles, the flavor, the ratio of veggies and meat to protein. You get to choose your protein. Shanghai rice cakes - similar to Shanghai fried noodles but replace noodles with rice cakes. It was cooked well. Half the table liked this more, while the other half likee the noodles more. Both are good just a matter of preference. Pork is the protein this dish comes with. Classic xlb - what you should be ordering at a place like this. Their xlb is pretty good. Not the best I've had but really good for quality, amount, price, convenience. The skin is not ultra thin like at the best xlb places. But the soup is abundant and tasty. The xlb are little soup dumplings that explode with flavor in your mouth. I wish it came with ginger slices without asking. I love pairing these with the black vinegar. Beef sheng jian - really delicious here. Freshly made, crisp on the outside, juicy soup explosion on the inside. I read a review that these are hard to eat. No they're not hard to eat. You just have to know how to eat them. From a non Western culture standpoint you could argue that a hamburger or slice of pizza is difficult to eat too. But I digress. Traditionally you take a small bite of the dough from the top, just enough to make a hole in the roof of the fried dumpling so that the soup can cool. When the soup is cool enough that's your cue to slurp away and chomp in one bite or carefully sip the soup and inhale in several bites. You won't regret the patient wait. Sheng jian - same as above just with the classic pork filling instead of beef. Personally I like the beef more because I'm inclined to get the pork filling for the classic xlb. But these are good too. Half our table preferred the beef version and the other half the pork version. Seasonal vegetables - I never order these for take out because vegetables are just so much healthier and cheaper at home. But when dining in, it's a must for our family. Greasier than what you'd get at home and small portions but we liked the choice of veggies we had the day we came. Sweet and sour pork ribs - fan favorite all around. They are huge ribs compared to the small traditional pork ribs I grew up eating. But even my mom was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The meat is succulent, fall off the bone juicy and delicious. A must order Crispy fried chicken - this is done really well here. The batter is light. The chicken is actually chunks of chicken meat as opposed to many places that have huge amounts of chicken fat and tendon and blobs of fried batter. The seasoning is also not overly salty. All in all, we haven't had a single thing here that everyone did not like. They even have cute little plates for toddlers dining in. We are definitely coming back multiple times

Yelp
Another birthday lunch! New and second location in my old hood, the Southwest so it was nice to catch up! Very clean and cute place. The service was fantastic! We sat for about 3.5 hours and enjoyed the delicious food! My friend ordered as she's been here before. Every item was amazing! Looking forward to trying the Chinatown location soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Very modern and pretty restaurant. We were a little disappointed that they don't have the same menu as the one in China town. The food and service was good. Worth a try, but I'll probably still make the drive to the other location
google avatar

Lizz B.

Yelp
We usually go to the Chinatown location for the pan-fried pork buns but decided to come to this one since finding parking in Shang Hai Plaza is always a pain. The parking at this location was much more open. We tried the chili oil wontons and sweet & sour short ribs today too. The chili oil wontons were phenomenal and we loved them. The sheng jian was a little doughy and we think the Chinatown location makes them a little better. The sweet & sour short ribs were good, but I wouldn't order them again since the portion is a bit small for $17. We will probably be back here to try the sheng jian again to see if they were just a little off this one time or if it's a regular occurrence for this location. The service was great and the inside was very clean and welcoming.

Yelp
Finally a location in the Southwest area. The inside is beautifully decorated and it's very spacious. We ordered the XLB traditional Shanghai soup dumplings, the Shanghai crispy shrimps, the spicy wantons in chili oil, Shanghai fat noodles, fried rice, and the sweet and sour spare ribs. The soup dumplings are definitely on point and it ranks in my top five favorite places for soup dumplings. Let them cool before biting into one. They come out piping hot and it will burn your mouth. The flavor is amazing! The crispy shrimps have amazing flavor as well, but I was less than excited about having to peel the shrimp. The spicy wantons in chili oil I loved the most. I was sad when I ate the last one and I came very close to ordering another order. This was a very addictive dish! The sweet and sour spare ribs were very flavorful and super tender. Everything was amazing and dairy free. I will have to try this place to go in the future. The service was amazing and the waitress was very helpful.

Yelp
Now expanding to Dallas and the Southwest Vegas Valley 4 years after opening, despite growing competition, it was as a party of three that diners enjoyed an outstanding meal at ShangHai Taste on Tuesday evening. Tucked inside Suite 130 of a complex on Rainbow Boulevard it is upon entry that eyes are immediately drawn to Chinese-born Chefs working inside the restaurant's glass prep-room, and with Chef Jimmy Li's time at 3 Villages, 1900 Asian Cuisine and Niu Gu well-known to fans the fact that everything on-site is made from scratch should come as no surprise. Seating approximately 60 guests from 11:00am until 9:00pm seven-days-a-week it was with warm greetings that twelve items were received, many old favorites but also all-new head-on Shrimp and Signature Fried Chicken. Affordable without skimping on Ingredients, all thanks to Chef Li and Joe Muscaglione's dedication, a distinctive feel is ensured by the fact that almost every single item on-site is imported from or near Shanghai, and starting with Soup Dumplings, or XLB, fans will be happy to know ShangHai Taste's set a high standard whether made with Pork, Shrimp, Crab or Beef. Able to accommodate most dietary preferences, fried Soup Dumplings in two varieties a winner to all but vegans, those eschewing all Animal products will likely gravitate to green Dumplings, though even more interesting bites are found in the form of Cold Bean Curd Noodles slicked in Scallion Oil or springy Kao Fu. Built on family recipes handed down to Chef Li, his Fat Noodles with choice of Protein always a crowd-pleaser, Dumplings taste wonderful with or without spicy Oil or Soy while Fried Rice or Rice Cakes rival the best in town.

Yelp
We had to come back to try other items on their menu. All I wanted was the xlb, they are so good. This time we ordered cold bean curd, that was fantastic, the only thing I would add is some white pepper, but that's too spicy for some people to tolerate. They could have increased the shredded scallions in this dish for my taste. The crispy shrimp was missing one thing, the heads, we're traditional so we do eat the heads. The flat noodle cakes were never my cup of tea, but they were good, my mom and sis loves it but I was never a big fan if that dish. The only thing I wish is the portions weren't so darn small, but then again most portions are too small for me.

Yelp
Woohoo! Love having this place nearby. Been going to the one in Shanghai Plaza, and this one is just as good. Plus, they were playing some great music. Beach House, The Smiths... A vibe. Service was fantastic. We ordered xiao long bao, wonton soup, and scallion oil noodles. The latter were a bit too oily, but I loved everything else.

Yelp
My bestie and I love Shanghai Taste. We've been to the location in Chinatown and we wanted to go somewhere that's closer to us. I've heard about the Southwest location for months and I hadn't had the chance to visit. But, I finally did. This location is bigger than the one in Chinatown. We ordered their Dry Scallion Noodles, Pork Xiao Long Bao, and Spicy Wontons. We enjoyed everything. However, the Xiao Long Bao came out cold and we didn't really enjoy it as much.

Yelp
Went here tonight and I ended up getting food poisoning. It didn't sit well in my stomach and somehow ended up with high bp! The food seemed good, but got so sick from it. No idea what they put in their food but I'm so traumatized I'm never eating here again

Yelp
Super enjoyable lunch that I came back 2 days in a row. Clean restaurant. Not a huge restaurant and can fit about 30ppl. You can see the kitchen where your food is being made. Tables were cleaned right after the table is vacated. Service is exceptional. Check on, things are provided quickly. Food was so good. Everything we ordered were reasonably priced with tons of flavors. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Food: fish dumplings, cucumber dumplings, Shanghai scallion oil noodles (cold), seasonal vegetables. Everything was super fresh and tasty. I don't know how they make fish dumplings and shrimp dumplings so juicy, but they do it! Service: good about refilling water and taking away used dishes. Ambiance: dining space is larger than the Shanghai Plaza location and parking is a lot easier too so I prefer this location.

Yelp
Husband and I decided to get dinner at Shanghai Taste on their grand opening weekend. We went on the Sunday night at around 8PM. They are located in the same plaza as Smiths and took over the old Rosati's location. This SW location is bigger than their Chinatown location -- it has more tables which is nice. I only went to their Chinatown location once because the location was too small, which made the wait extremely long. Additionally, parking is horrid. The SW location though, there is plenty of parking available. When we walked in, it took a bit to get us seated as they were cleaning down one of the tables. Also, the tables were very spaced out, which is nice when you're walking through the establishment. Unsure if that will change in the future. My husband and I decided to share: Sheng jian bao - Fried pork dumplings. One order came with 4 pieces and it came out piping out. There was a ton of soup inside too! The soup was a tad salty but it was delicious overall. Xiao long bao - Pork soup dumplings. One order came with 8 pieces and this also came out super fresh. Each dumpling is filled with soup and they did not pop when you are picking them up. Soup had a tinge of sweetness to it as well. Loved that there is a hole at the top already. Goes great with a bit of black vinegar. Would have been nice if they gave me a sauce dish -- noticed the next table to us was given some but we weren't so I just had vinegar all over my plate instead. House fried fat noodles - Otherwise known as Shanghai thick chow mein. We got this with pork. While the dish was good, I think it could use a bit more flavor overall. The noodles themselves weren't as thick as I expected it to be. The dish was also extremely oily -- oil pooled at the bottom of the dish at the end. Aside from the main/popular items, there are differences in the menu between their Chinatown and SW location. Not sure if they'll add more to the SW menu -- would be nice that they do. Pretty happy that we have a xiao long bao place closer to home. Wouldn't mind coming back for when we are craving xiao long bao.

Yelp
This review is long overdue. The Southwest location is just as great as the Chinatown location. Everything in both locations is always on point. The food is perfect, fresh and flavorful. The service is great. If you've never had the banana and Nutella buns, please try them. If you're too full, take a to go order. You won't regret it. We had more dishes, but we started to eat before our pictures because they looked so amazing. It is clean, bright and easy to get to.

Yelp
Soup dumplings are hard when you have fries Din TainFung. The dumplings are a lil larger but full of soup. The dumplings are pretty meaty so if you like a lot of meat, this is a definite. They didn't have many vegetables options, kinda disappointed. We tried the spicy wontons as well, it was pretty soupy with the chili sauce and not very "spicy". I like that they are close to my house so if I'm craving soup dumplings I would go back.

Yelp
Shanghai Taste finally opened up southwest side of town and we were so excited to try it since it's right by the house. This restaurant gets pretty busy so I'm glad we can add ourselves to the waitlist. Food was really good and was not oily at all. It all tasted so fresh too. We ordered a bunch of stuff which were... - curry seafood (8/10) - beef xiao long bao (8/10) - chicken fried rice (9/10) - crispy shrimp (10/10) - sheng jian (7/10) - fish wonton soup (7/10) - steak and oyster mushroom in back bean sauce (8/10) The curry seafood had a whole bunch of scallops, shrimp, fish, and calamari in it. Very generous portions of seafood which was very good. The chicken fried rice and the crispy shrimp had to be our favorite overall. The fried rice had so much flavor and the shrimp had the perfect crunch. They also give a good amount of shrimp too. The soup dumplings had a lot of flavor as well, but wasn't my favorite due to some of them not having enough soup inside of them. The service was okay. Could be better, but they were busy which is why I give this place a 4 out of 5. Can't wait to see what else will be added to the menu! Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
Shanghai Taste in Las Vegas is a fantastic spot if you're craving authentic Shanghainese cuisine. We tried the shengjian bao, xiaolong bao, beef tongue, beef fried rice, and some fried chicken appetizers, and everything was really good. The shengjian bao and xiaolong bao were juicy and delicious, while the beef tongue was super tender. The beef fried rice was tasty and well-seasoned too. The fried chicken appetizers were a nice surprise - crispy and full of flavor. Service was fast and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. The fried vegetables were fresh and tasty as well. Plus, they've got high chairs for the little ones, so it's a great place for families. All in all, Shanghai Taste is definitely worth checking out for some awesome food and great service. 5/5. Will come back again!!

Yelp
The dumplings are simply amazing. The service was great and the overall vibe was relaxing. Great place, great food, great people. Definitely my new favorite for dunplings.

Yelp
I unfortunately didn't get any pictures bc I was carrying my baby the whole time but my family of 9 went here for dinner on Christmas Day. I've been wanting to eat here for a while because I've heard such good things about the other location. I called a couple of weeks ahead to make a reservation, the waiter/server who answered was so nice! I could tell he was busy but he was still very cordial. We got there a bit early & were still seated right away. The restaurant was nice & clean. Service was also nice & quick. The food was delicious! My picky nephews loved the XLBs!
google avatar

Amber O.

Yelp
Good food, high price point but I was more than satisfied with my meal and I had leftovers too so it's good value. The wonton soup was the best part. Very rich flavor. It was a nice touch too that you get a choice of many condiments to add, without having to ask. The steamed dumplings were a bit doughy but still tasty, and the fried rice was good. I like that you can see the chefs cooking the food, it feels fancy. Service was good and I liked that you get a carafe of orange water with the meal.

Yelp
I was told today that they will no longer do separate checks, which is unfortunate. They said it was a mistake that I was able to do it in the past and it should not have happened at all.

Yelp
Love Shanghai taste! We always get the scallion noodles and they're amazing every time! I highly recommend this place! Soup dumplings are incredible also.

Yelp
My 3 friends and I was hang out there for dinner, but a waiter's unacceptable behavior completely ruined our Friday night. We have never experienced such disrespect before. Here's what happened: Initially, we wrote down an order for two servings of Sheng Jian. Later, one of our friends decided that wasn't enough, so we changed it to 3. When the food arrived, only 2 servings were brought out. We assumed our change hadn't been clearly noted, and the waiter must have still thought we only ordered 2. After we had finished eating and were preparing to pay, the waiter, Aaron, suddenly brought out another serving of Sheng Jian. We explained that we were already done and ready to leave, and politely asked if it could be return. He said, "Okay." However, instead of handling the situation professionally, he throw the bill onto our table and muttered, "Piece of shit." Shocked and offended, we called the manager to tell her what had happened. Moments later, Aaron returned to our table and said, "Here's the door. You guys can leave. I don't want to serve you, and I'll remember all of your faces. Don't ever come here again." We will, of course, never go back to this restaurant--never.

Yelp
Great service and food is delish! Love the xlb n pan fried dumplings. The XLB has a sweeter taste to it rather than the sour taste from din tai

Yelp
Yummy soup dumplings and noodles in the SW area that opened not too long ago. The menu is a little bit different from the one on Spring Mountain. The owner told us they want to keep some of the regular items as the other location, but add some new items that will be exclusive to the Warm Springs location. I like that idea!
google avatar

Queenie L.

Yelp
Love this restaurant at SW area AKA the new china town. There is a lot bigger than the location on spring mountain, and we love to go there for lunch. It is chill & relax. Food & service is always top notch! I just LOVE LOVE how juicy the xiao long bao & fried pork buns. I literally poured out 3 spoons of juice from each bao! Amazing! The sides dishes are overly impressive. The beef tongue is kinda blend but with the addition of the sweet & spicy sauce, it is delicious! Love the cold tofu curd, it is soft (not chewy) and sweet and flavor is on point . The sweet & sour baby pack ribs is my favorite. With very light batter, it feels so light & airy & flavorful! Adding this place to my "SW fav restaurant list" .

Yelp
This place still remains my favorite XLB in town & I am SO happy they're in the southwest area now. The dumpling wrapper isn't super delicate so it doesn't fall apart when picking up the dumplings, the broth is tasty & they never skimp on the filling! If you're looking for a spot solely focused on quality XLB, this is it. The crab one is worth a try but I honestly always go back to the original pork. I also love the sheng jian here. Tried the fried chicken which is a newer item & it was just ok, probably wouldn't get it again. Also tried the cold bean noodles with scallion oil, which was a simple but delicious dish. Overall great local spot!

Yelp
Very good and tasty food right next to the Smiths grocery store. I have never seen this place before so it's has to been open recently. Small place in total they have like 8 tables. It is more like dim-sum place, when you enter they give you piece of paper where you can write what you want and how many (this part reminded me on dim-sum). We order fish dumplings since they didn't have pork dumplings (this was disappointing) and fish dumplings are never good as pork dumplings. They were super plane and sticky. We had dumpling soup that was delicious to. Forget to mention that all the portions are sharable. When they gave us soup they brought us two little dishes so we can share ( this dish was too small only one dumpling can fit there). We also had chicken fried rice which was perfect with a Great fried taste. We also had Beef Cheng Jian we didn't know what was that but let's give it a try. Ansmd this ended up being best dish. It reminded me of dumplings but thus was deep fried with ground beef inside. It's was super hot and there was some sauce/broth like liquid inside which was delicious. Overall was good but the table for two was too little to accommodate all the spices on the table, water pitcher and two glasses plus all of those dishes.

Yelp
I went here a few times now. I really like all the dishes we ordered. The best was the fried rice cake. I'm hooked on. That. Their soup dumplings are freshly made. This place is pretty authentic. It can get busy.... Definitely recommended if you're looking for some soup dumplings and other Chinese dishes.

Yelp
Since opening, I have eaten there a couple of times and both were invited and treated by friends based on my recommendation... , that's why no photos were taken. Otherwise it would be a bit awkward. Authentic Shanghai food! Pan fried buns (生煎包)are delicious, with soup inside and as good as their Shanghai Plaza location. Steamed XiaoLongBao are also juicy, soupy and tasty. Pan fried rice cakes and KaoFu are authentic and flavorful, they tastes just like my what mother used to made and she is an excellent cook. Braised pork ribs are excellent as well... Service is efficient and friendly. Ambiance is clean cut and minimalistic and feels comfortable to eat there... Highly recommended and gives it a try and you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I've always enjoyed coming to Shanghai Taste but usually spring mountain location but this time we decided to try rainbow location, but this experience was shocking. Our waiter, Aaron, was rude and unprofessional. He gave part of our order to another table without explanation and only brought the missing item after we had already finished eating. When we asked to return it, he seemed irritated. Things got worse when he threw the bill onto our table--completely unacceptable behavior in any restaurant. When we asked to speak to a manager, he walked past us and muttered "piece of shit." Shocked, we confronted him, but instead of apologizing, he denied it, got defensive, and said, what's the problem can't you see I'm the only one working? Then he said I'll remember all your faces and will never serve you again." Then, he pointed at the door and said, "You guys can leave now." I've been a loyal customer for years but have never been treated this way. I understand being busy, but this is the hospitality industry--basic respect and professionalism should be a given. Absolutely disappointed.

Yelp
We are a big fan of their food and was excited when they opened up in Southwest area, closer to my home. Sadly the service was lacking. Our 2 friends arrived first and got a table as we walked in. There were no water in the table and no one greeted us nor introduced us to our server. I had to flag someone down myself after waiting awhile for service. Once I got someone's attention, she took our orders paper to the kitchen and never returned. Still no water or drinks. I had to flag down another person for water and it is end of June so it is scorching hot and we were thirsty. My friends thought of walking out but I convinced them to give Shanghai a chance. The food was delicious once it arrived, altho there was a dish missing that I ordered but no longer wanted towards the end. Our server happens to be a man who brought us our water eventually and didn't properly introduce himself either and he took our orders like he was in a hurry. I also ordered a soda that came in a can without glasses of ice which I had to ask for and the glasses of ice was a small glass which could've been for a shot of liquor or a small cocktail. I was expecting a larger cup and shouldn't have to ask for ice. I do have hope that the staffs are retrained as I do want them to succeed and stay open.

Yelp
Solid solid Chinese cuisine - similar type menu to what you would find at a Din Tai Fung expect a ton cheaper since this is off the strip. Every dish we ordered was solid - fried pork, stir fried veggies, all the various dumplings (we tried them all), and the hidden gem was the beef steak fried rice! Would definitely return if we have a craving for Chinese food and don't want to drive up to Spring Mtn from where we are in the southern part of town.

Yelp
Really good dim sum place. A little pricey but worth the price. The fried pork dumplings are delicious!

Yelp
This is their second location and it's newly renovated. Looks clean, more modern and more spacious than the Chinatown one. Food tastes just the same as the other one. Portion size is like a kids meal. Only complain is the parking for that corner is slightly difficult. If it's rush hour might need to park by Smiths.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for great dumplings, don't sleep on ShangHai Taste. Their traditional xiao long bao soup dumplings are amazing, and the crab and pork dumplings have a very delicious rich flavor. The wontons in chili oil had just the right amount of spice. But if you feel you still want a traditional entrée, definitely get the beef and king mushrooms. This place does not disappoint.

Yelp
Shanghai Taste Southwest - 4/5 Stars We came in today (1/29/25) and ordered our usuals: the pork Xiaolongbao, regular Xiaolongbao, and fried pan Xiaolongbao. Everything tasted great as always. We also ordered the traditional chocolate Xiaolongbao, which usually comes with Nutella and a piece of banana in the middle. However, this time, they were half the size and no longer had banana--just Nutella, which was a bit disappointing. Not sure if they ran out of bananas or if this is a permanent change. Service was a little slow since there were only a hostess and one server handling a full restaurant, but they were very friendly and doing their best to be attentive. That said, they could definitely use more staff to keep up with demand. I also appreciate that they serve water at the table, which is a nice touch and not always a given at every restaurant. Overall, still a great spot, but we hope they bring back the original chocolate Xiaolongbao and maybe hire more staff to improve service. 4/5 stars.

Yelp
I was craving soup dumplings.. and this place popped up on my suggestions. I enjoyed it! Honestly reminded me of din tai fung, but a bit cheaper, and not on the strip. They didn't have the cucumbers lol but they did offer the chocolate dessert.. unfortunately we were so full and did not order it. Everything was good though and I'd definitely come back! It's a small place but it wasn't busy.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 8 and while we had reservations, we arrived right when it opened so it wasn't busy. They didn't have a table set up but were able to quickly accommodate us. We were also able to use a few extra chairs for some of our stuff. A few of my party had already tried the location in China town and wanted to go here since it was new and is a larger location. Unfortunately for us, they don't serve the scallion pancake here (maybe yet?!) but we ordered a bunch of stuff including: Traditional XLB Beef XLB* Spicy wonton in chili oil Shrimp house fried rice Sweet and sour short ribs* Shanghai crispy shrimp* Shanghai fried noodles Cold bean curd noodles Signature fried chicken Chocolate Banana XLB The items that are * were my favorites and the rest was very tasty as well. The food came out quickly and was delicious! The cold bean curd noodles needed a bit more flavor, so I added the wonton sauce and some chili oil. I love going in big parties so that we can try a lot and we definitely did! Check it out this location if you are OK without the pancake. If you need it then you'll need to go to the Chinatown location. The staff was great and very accommodating. It got busier as we continued our meal but it didn't get too packed. No doubt that when I'm back in town, that will change!

Yelp
This new Shanghai Taste SW location took over the old Rosati's Pizza, and have been driving by every so often to check on their progress. I noticed there was an OPEN sign lit by the front door and popped in to see if they were open. They are currently in a soft opening phase before their grand opening on June 8th. The interior space isn't very large but nice and cozy -- the tables aren't too close to each other which is great. Ordered the XLB, 8pc for $10.95 and the fish wonton soup. Both items are just as good as their Chinatown location in Shanghai Plaza. The XLB was nice and juicy, and not super overpriced or microscopic in size like Din Tai Fung. They are also introducing some new menu items for this location. I tried the spare ribs appetizer which is essentially pork chop sliced up and deep fried. It was pretty tasty. I'm happy that this location has opened and is a lot closer to my house whenever the XLB cravings hit.

Yelp
Date Night at ShangHai Taste SW! My husband and I decided to walk over and check out the newest eatery in the Southwest Marketplace by our home. We were seated fairly quickly and given the menu and water. The menu is simple, one side English and the other side in Chinese. You mark off what you want to order and the waiter places it for you. The food came out quickly & was delicious. We will definitely come again with our family.

Yelp
Best Shanghainese food that's not on the strip! The soup dumplings are especially so good. Servers are kind and attentive, and we like this place better (spacious) than the one in Chinatown (where it feels cramped). It's very popular for good reason - we frequently come here because it's authentic and quality is consistent.
