Summer Palace

"The majestic red and gold colour scheme is a fitting lead-in to the Cantonese classics reimagined by Chef Chan with a refined touch. Try his juicy and tender char siu or the Peking duck with its dark and crispy caramelised skin. The array of dim sum on offer, such as apple sauce char siu puff pastry, is also a highlight. With vivid colour and varied textures, the steamed red yeast rice roll stuffed with minced shrimp in a crispy crust is enticing." - Michelin Inspector

This was the third Shangri-La hotel we've stayed at in the past six months, and — as expected — it was amazing!||||Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully prepared. We selected our preferred pillows via the Shangri-La app before arrival, and they were ready and waiting for us — such a thoughtful touch. From our window, we enjoyed a fantastic view of the river and the city skyline.||||The fitness center and spa were top-notch and had everything we needed. I couldn’t resist treating myself to another aroma massage at CHI, The Spa — just heavenly.||||One of the highlights for our family was the outdoor swimming pool. There was a fun foam soap party the evening we arrived, and the inflatable water slide was a huge hit with the kids! Just a heads-up: swimming caps are required, so bring your own or plan to get one there.||||Breakfast was generous and full of variety. It's one of those moments where you tell yourself, "Just one bun..." but they all look so delicious that you end up having two — or more! 😄||||We traveled by taxi, so I can’t comment on public transportation, but it felt like a very central location.||||And finally — a big plus in mainland China — the Wi-Fi worked great and even allowed access to YouTube, which made my son especially happy since he didn’t have to rely on my travel mobile internet or use a VPN!||||Highly recommended. Thank you, Shangri-La Guangzhou, for another memorable stay!

Visited Guangzhou for 2 nights and stayed in Shangri-La during my short stay in China. I would NOT recommend it if you are tourists and you want to be close to the famous scene sights. Our goal is to meet families in Guangzhou so it was not an issue for us. The garden in the back was very pretty but there was some constructions going on (in mid July), and they transferred dirts between spots. But overall the whole garden was impact. Had no problem circling in the trail. There was also a mini forest next to the hotel was you could take slow walk with full shades (important in hot, humid and sunny weather in summer). Elevator was pretty old. Had problem inserting the card to select floor. Even entering the room sometimes would be a problem due to the card problem. Got two scoops of ice cream for free as the welcome gifts. Also tried their afternoon tea with our family. Overall delicate and nice.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou for a business trip and my experience was amazing. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, with ample workspace and quiet ambience which made it ideal for business travellers. I especially appreciated the stunning views of pearl river during my busy schedule. The hotel offered a breakfast buffet with a wide variety of local & international options. Overall it offered a flawless corporate stay experience.

Stayed here for 6 days while attending the CIFF furniture fair. Overall a great place to stay, you can literally walk to the expo centre. The hotel rooms and amenities can feel a little dated but everything works as it should. Breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet were very large in options and really good taste. Certainly worth the money but make sure you go hungry. There are so many options. The Japanese restaurant is very good but found it very expensive compared to other top tier Japanese restaurants in the area. Overall a great place to stay in.

This 5-star hotel lives up to its star rating. Room was comfortable, service excellent, the furnishings luxurious and the breakfast excellent. There are several expensive restaurants within the hotel to choose from. One could live in this hotel without needing to go outside. The WiFi was excellent. Location was notvso good for us. The places we needed to visit were not far on the map but the traffic congestion meant 30+ minutes in a taxi.

Very luxurious hotel with lots of amenities but our stay was too short to enjoy all of them. Would love to stay at Shangri-la GZ again. Special shout out to Mona, Mia and Berly who checked us in and helped when I had trouble collecting my delivery.

Great location and service. Just one thing that the food at breakfast bar are not so hot, quite cold. Ordered omelettes and told chef to cook well. It’s still uncooked inside of omelettes.Went to S.E.Asia restaurant and ordered Thai green curry with chicken. It cooked like put the green colour in the curry and used chicken with skin🥲🥲

Not the best location for a eisure trip but can't fault this hotel. The service all round was among the best I have experienced. The Horizon Club lounge was really nice with good choice of food and the staff remember what you like after a single visit. Rooms were large and comfortable and very clean.
