"Where some vegan restaurants try to keep up with appearances, Potala's one of those that wants you to know you're eating vegetables, and a lot of them. Every meal in the changed-daily menu includes includes soup, rice, legumes, greens, mixed vegetables, and salad. $14 for a large lunch plate, and $15 for a large dinner, buys you a bountiful veggie spread — whereas an omnivore restaurant might only provide a small side of salad with meals at that price point." - Eater Staff

This place is truly such a gem. Such cozy foods that will nourish you from the inside out. Feels home cooked with love. My only wish for them is to use olive oil and avocado oils only! Seed oils like canola oil and sunflower oil are highly inflammatory and hard on the digestive system. Once in awhile I don’t mind, but I would definitely eat here more often if they used good oils exclusively as I know my body could tolerate it much better! All in all, grateful for an organic vegan spot to have locally!

Second time! The food is so cozy and delicious, the kukicha tea self-serve is a favorite, and the mango and key lime pies were so creamy, with the perfect amount of tartness. I’m a big proponent of simple menus, where everything is perfected

If you're looking for a truly unforgettable vegan dining experience, Shangrila Buddha Organic Vegan Restaurant is an absolute must-visit! Every time I'm in the Bay Area, I make it a priority to stop by because the food and service are simply unbelievable. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, making it the perfect place to enjoy a nourishing meal. What makes this place so special? Simplicity and quality. They serve just one dish per day, but trust me—it’s always incredible! Each meal is carefully crafted with fresh, organic ingredients, delivering a perfect balance of flavors and textures. It’s comforting, satisfying, and you can taste the love and care put into every bite. I also love that everything here is 100% organic and vegan, making it a guilt-free indulgence that leaves you feeling amazing afterward. Plus, the portions are generous, and the complimentary tea adds an extra touch of warmth to the experience. Whether you're a dedicated vegan, a health-conscious foodie, or just someone who appreciates delicious, wholesome meals, Shangrila Buddha is the place to be. Don’t miss out—this hidden gem will leave you craving your next visit!

Very tasty vegetarian food. It makes me feel healthy but also tastes really good. All the different veggies had good flavor and the lentil soup was good too. Would definitely come back again since I hear they switch up some of the vegetables each time. I also really like how there's no choice of what to order, just medium or full. I don't like to make decisions so that's perfect. The (vegan?) pie is good if you like coconut flavor.

I took my mom here for lunch. We loved it! The menu is basically whatever the chef decides, 2x/day. But there were a variety of well prepared, delicious vegan and gluten free foods included. I had the best lentil soup ever, and the perfectly prepared black beans with ginger and onions were mouthwatering. Even though mom didn't care for the creamy collard greens with kale (I liked it just fine), she had plenty to eat. Tea or water is included, and we shared the key lime pie for dessert- yummy!

1) After a meal here, you will walk out feeling energized and powerful 2) The plate for the day comes in two sizes, medium or full size. The simplicity of this system is great because you just get what the chef is creating! 3) The food is really really good. Genuinely one of the best vegetarian restaurants I’ve ever been too!

Everyone that works here is very kind and gracious, and I've never had a bad meal here. I leave feeling full and satisfied and not gross and slushy! I would eat here every day if I could. The key lime pie is also fantastic and perfect tky tangy and sweet. Thanks, Shangri-La!
