"Escape to the Woodlands to experience this entirely black-lit and trippy miniature golf course. You may feel like you’re in a Pink Floyd music video as putt through its challenging obstacles, which are complete with neon wild animals, dinosaurs, and other characters. Besides mini-golf, the venue offers Omni VR headsets and arcade games, plus a drinks menu featuring, domestic and local beers, glasses of wine, and full bottles of easy-drinking, party-friendly sips like Prosecco." - Sean Hekmat

You’ll want to make sure you make an online appointment first, even on a weekday. My wife and I went on a Wednesday morning. Crowd size was tolerable during the summer on a weekday. We got there 10 minutes early per the appointment. We had to wait the full 10 minutes which wasn’t a big deal. They have a small video game area in front. We were called for our turn to play golf. Service was professional and kind. The golf course is black light with cool dinosaur themes. We did catch up to two families in front of us, but we didn’t have to wait too long between holes. 18 holes goes by fast if you are decent at putting. The holes are interesting, but not large. I tried the weekend several times, but it is way too crowded for my tastes. Overall, if you don’t have kids, try the weekday. Overall, would recommend.

Google
Very nice place, clean and friendly. Kiddos loved the place, 17 holes of mini golf with fun designs. Don't expect a Disneyland experience, but something nice and fun to kill time with the kids. Fun little cotton candy machine inside as well as a decent drink list for the adults. Games aren't too expensive in the arcade compared to other arcades now a days. Only reason I'm rating it 4 stars is because what drew me here was the pictures of the standing VR setups. On closer inspection looks like those photos were from like 3 years ago. Unless they still have it here and I just missed it. Overall fun place to hangout with the smaller children and fair for the price.

Google
What a fun place! We reserved our tee time online. Was running a bit five minutes late so called. No problem at all. The putt putt course is fun and just the right length. Spent some time in the arcade after putt putt which was fun. It’s small but packed with plenty to do. Parking is easy..huge common parking lot.

Google
Went there over the weekend with family and was a disappointed. The course is 17 holes with the 18 being a ball drop. Most of the holes were similar with a tunnel that put the ball a couple feet from the hole. There were a few that had the tunnel send the ball to the hole however said tunnel did not line up with the hole so we felt robbed of a hole in 1. The only thing that made this place stand out was that it was black light and glow in the dark.

According to my wife this place is extremely fun but since she said that reservations weren’t necessary, they were booked up and we couldn’t wait for 2 hours. Plan on returning soon and will update at that point. Update 03.23.2024… had a really fun time with the wife after diner. It was dead because it was much later in the night. Very cool decor as you can see from the pics. The coarse is fairly easy but take you time and enjoy the coarse!!!! Takes about 45 minutes if not trying to speed through. We both enjoyed it overall.

This was a beautiful experience. The miniature golf was beautiful and well designed. Myself and family enjoyed ourselves. The arcade was amazing. Drinks amazing. Food amazing. Service amazing. It's a small place but fun and adventurous.

Google
Myself, granddaughter, daughter and her boyfriend all went to check this place out. It was definitely fun, the black light glow mini golf was an interesting and different type of mini golfing experience. It is somewhat small inside, especially where the arcade games are. There is a variety of games to play to accommodate different age ranges. Overall, it was an experience that warrants a return with other grandkids I wasn't able to bring along this time.

This place was great for a rainy day on Spring Break with my 5, 7 and 12 year old. We will definitely be coming back. Just a suggestion to those that are planning on going, book your Tee Time in advance for the day. You can do it online. We just stopped in because of the rain and were in the area. My boys love putt putt and arcade games. So I thought, well this is cool! We just happened to luck out and get a walk-in Tee Time (Someone else had canceled). I did a package deal that included a round of golf, glow necklaces and $20 game cards for each of us. If you need to reload the game card, you can do it yourself at the reload machine. The arcade itself isn't super huge but had a great selection of games for every single one of my kiddos. Every game was working properly and everything was super clean. It had a friendly vibe and the staff was helpful and nice. It appeared that most people were playing games while waiting for their Tee-Time or after they were done. This seemed to help with the crowding. The black light golf was fantastic! Glowing golf balls and elaborate themed courses. It was just long enough yet short enough to keep my boys entertained. The absolutely loved it!!!! Worth going again!

Requel P.

Yelp
Fun and engaging indoor mini golf play area. They have different themes as you go along the many holes. It wasn't too difficult but just fun enough for all to enjoy. They also have a concession stand and arcade games as well. We would definitely return.

Jon H.

Yelp
Overall we had a good experience. The concept was fun (balls that light up internally, glow in the dark atmosphere, etc.). The actual hole designs felt... lacking creativity. Eventually they all feel about the same as you go through the full course. Would like to see some more variety (drops, tunnels, etc.) Price seemed high for what it ended up being. We had a good experience, and staff was friendly/helpful, but this is probably a one-and-done type place for us.

Kaitlyn L.

Yelp
Workers were so nice and greeting! The vibes were very good! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Brandon M.

Yelp
Putt putt is fun in the black light, course is pretty basic and small, but that's what you get with most indoor putt putt. Still enjoyable, just make sure and reserve a tee time in advance. The first time we went, we weren't aware that we couldn't just show up and play, especially during peak hours. Great place for a couple hours of entertainment.

Yelp
I've been to this establishment a few times since I've lived in the area and the pricing has exploded to the point it's not affordable for a family of 6 (plus two spectators, 8 in total). It's $15 a golfer (military discount gets you 3 bucks off, but if you buy a package there is no discount due to you're already getting a 5 discount with package). $7 bucks to spectate so if you got kids under a given age there is no way around this fee. I'm not sure how I feel being charged to be an authority figure aka parent to make my kids follow your rules and keep from causing a ruckus at your facility. Our cost was a total of $134 (6 Golfing, 2 spectating). There is a limit of 4 golfers per group so we were split into two. No issues with the rule I get it. The birdie package($20) gets you one round of golf, $10 dollar gift card, and a glow necklace. One round of golf takes about 30-45 minutes. The games are very limited a few out of order. Most games are a $1.50 (found only one for $1, claw games $2.50, air hockey $2.25). Think they VR was around $5, so you'll burn through 10 real fast. The miniature golf course has definitely undergone an uplift, though I still see several of the older animals from 6 years ago still in commission. They have beer and wine offerings; so I'd very much recommend this business for a date night for sure.

Susie C.

Yelp
We had such a great time at Shanks! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Even went out of their way to accommodate us! Our first time was really fun! Can't wait to go back.

Mar R.

Yelp
Such great fun! We did the mini golf and the arcade. Staff was great, atmosphere was chill. Will definitely be back.

Teresa R.

Yelp
Very neat concept, everyone had fun, video games for kids and adults. Entertaining mini golf, sodas, beer and wine for sale. No food. I thought the prices very high

Mandy C.

Yelp
This was our first time at Shankz. A friend's sons wanted to have their birthday parties here. Kind of off the beaten path, we finally found it in a strip center. Not what we were expecting at all! I did some research before hand by asking friends who have already been here. Everyone had great things to say about it! All of the pictures on Yelp made it look like a fun place to be so we were excited to try it out!! Right when you walk in your are greeted with a hallway full of games. It's very dark with all the glow in the dark games lighting up the place! The time freak game was fun for the kids! Very interactive and kept them interested!! I assume when you book a party, you get the whole building. There was only one long table set up for the kids. After time freak, the kids lined up for put put! The holes wrapped around and the kids took turns on every hole! They seemed impressed!

Christy W.

Yelp
This place is small but a lot of fun. Glow mini golf was cool. The VR game was a hit with my young adult children. Quite a few games that were fun for out entire family! We will be going back.

Melanie T.

Yelp
super fun! good 45 min game. very cool concept and affordable. 10/10 recommend. they also have an arcade so after ur little game u can play fun arcade games

Priscilla P.

Yelp
We had a great date day here! The staff is friendly and the mini golf had a great theme. A handful of arcade games to play, which were also fun, but just a sprinkle pricey. Tons of parking and wasn't super busy.

Sierra M.

Yelp
Cute little date night experience. It Took us about 40 minutes to finish mini golf (2 people). My only issue is that the music was really off. They would play fun, club music and the next song would be very loud gospel music? It kinda killed the mood for the night but the course itself was pretty cute and the cashiers were nice and helpful

Brooks B.

Yelp
I took my fiancé here a few years ago and we have been coming back once every few months since, you don't have to be a child to enjoy this, this place is a lot of fun and everyone can enjoy it. We always have a blast playing gold and then shooting each other with the nerf air cannons.

Trevor B.

Yelp
This place has improved vastly since the last time I putted here which to be honest was well over 10 years ago. They now have a VR simulator big enough to play with a party of 4, a small arcade area, and a pretty artsy funky putt putt course. If you want to play it all it will cost your $30 a person which isn't as since most VR places I have seen cost more that that alone. We had a fantastic time here, only downside was some of the other patrons playing minigolf, they kept hitting the balls to hard and would hit us. Other than that annoying moment we had a great time.

Pedro R.

Yelp
Mini golf was fun it took us around 30min to get through the whole course. Arcade didn't try but it was very small. VR is overpriced we paid $15 each for about 6 min of gameplay.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Came here with my husband and niece to have something to do for the 4th of July. They had a deal for 3 activities for about $13 each person. Activities included a game that is similar to "wack-a-mole" where you have to hit the lights as fast as you can in a room, while competing with an opponent. Scores are taken and can be seen on a screen from outside the room. Miniature golf was fun. 18-holes in a dark room with a black light with cool obstacles to ricochet from! I appreciated how they spaced each party apart so that no parties are waiting for each other for the next hole. Though we played fast and caught up to the other party ahead anyway. But, it was not a big deal to wait for them. The last activity we paid for was a "nerf" type game. Upon entering the room, you get protecting eye wear if you do not have glasses. You get a bucket to collect a bunch of foam falls off the ground. Then you get behind the stationary guns and the staff members turn on the air to shoot the guns. The object is to try to hit the colored targets hung on the wall. This was a huge challenge and after trying many times, we all ended up just trying to shoot each other. I didn't like this activity too much... some of the guns did not work as good as others... and it was really hard to aim due to limited movement from the stationary air guns. All in all I thought it was a pretty good deal for all three activities. Gave us something fun and active to do indoors on a rainy day. I also recommend calling them before hand to put yourself on their wait list. They text you to let you know you are approaching to the top of the list.

Rob C.

Yelp
To expensive to start, they charged $50 for 2 adults and 2 children under 7. Took about 30 minutes to get through the course with groups not really staggered apart so we had people on our heels as we were on top of the group in front of us. The worst part, 1 guy on the staff was at least trying to put forth some effort to try and make it fun, however most of them seemed to be to bother by the customers. Pretty sad honestly, won't be back.

Bi T.

Yelp
We really loved the look of the course and thought everything was really pretty. It's a nice date night place. The owner was very nice and welcoming! I will be back for the VR!

Elaine N.

Yelp
It's such a cute place to play mini golf. The black light decor was so nice and pretty! The glow was very bright. The course was also fun! It is definitely a good place for a date night adventure. The staff and owner were nice and welcoming!

Ell L.

Yelp
This place is super well done! Not a cheap little mini golf setup like some I have been to! They definitely put the effort into it and it's priced affordable too!! Kids had a blast!!

Karen M.

Yelp
Just ok. You get what you pay for. Not many places around for miniature golf. I would go back

Rick F.

Yelp
This place isn't even close to me and interest from the web site got my attention enough to pack the kids up and drive out to the Woodlands. Something different was the start of my coming out to Shankz. I wanted someplace the kids hadn't heard of and this spot came up on my Google search. After reading the reviews and comparing it to other ideas, I packed them up and headed out for the long commute. Finally we get there and they were closed. So after waiting for an hour and enjoying some ice cream from the spot next door, we finally ventured inside. Right away we were impressed. It was a quaint little spot, very dark and that's cool. Some fun with shooting the balls at each other using the little air guns as we waited for our turn to enter the golf area. Okay, so yes we liked it. Nice round of 18 holes of putt putt and the kids loved the scenery and especially the dinosaurs. What I didn't like is that you feel kind of rushed with it being such a small place with only one putt section. They actually used up the space very well but any group with more than 2 kids and 2 adults playing, I would have to say it's simply not enough time to enjoy yourself without completely taking up too much time on the course. I would return if ever I'm in the area again. There isn't much staff there and the 2 that are, aren't like owners who want you to come stay and have fun, but rather, the "geez I have to work on the weekend" teenager attitude. Friendly but, totally not the attitude for a place for fun and enjoyment. Smile and Prosper.

Eve F.

Yelp
I don't do parties anymore. I used to love them, the bigger the better. But with time, so went my patience. So in lieu of parties, we have the kids choose what they want to do for their special day and they are allowed to bring a friend or two along in the celebration. This occasion happened to by my daughter's 7th birthday and I showed her the website for Shankz. She was really excited about going as a special treat for her d-day. There was a total of 6 kids and 4 adults @ $8.50 per adult and $7.50 per kid. This might of been reasonable to me, but it was over in less than 45mins. They charge an additional $4.00 for a second round of golf or for the ballaster. Plus $2.00 if you want the 3D glasses. I'm sorry the price is not worth the place. We could have been done in as little as 20 mins had I not stopped and taken so many pictures. The establishment is nice, don't get me wrong. It's indoor blacklight 3D miniature golf and the art is amazing. It was worth it just for the experience and definitely memorable. But not a place for us to hang out. They only have vending machines, no food concession. They also have two air hockey tables and a few arcade machines. I think we had more fun playing a few rounds of air hockey than actually playing miniature golf. A lovely memory, ready to find more new places around town.

Fabian M.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've been miniature golfing and this place is great for that. It is glow in the dark and soon as you walk in the fun begins. It has 18 holes. I believe it's a tropical forest/ pirate them. Great for the kiddos.

Christy P.

Yelp
This place is pretty cool! The glow in the dark aspect makes this putt putt place pretty fun. Kinda wish we had a place like this closer in to Houston, but oh well. Everyone gets a different colored glow in the dark ball, which is very helpful. It's not the most difficult "course," but they pull some tricks to keep it interesting. My group went on a Sat evening and it wasn't really busy. The people who worked there were friendly and nice. Most of the other people putt putting were young couples. One thing to note: they close at 10, so you can't really make it a late night outing. Only downside is maximum number of people in a group is 4, so if you go in a larger group, you'll have to split up. But who wants to wait on 8 people to putt anyway?

Tricia J.

Yelp
So much fun! The course is fun, well decorated and very clean. We were in town for Thanksgiving weekend and I was really impressed. Will go back for sure next time we're in The Woodlands.

Kendall B.

Yelp
Wow, where do I even start. My boyfriend and I went here for date night and it ended up being one of our favorite spots. The front desk was very informative and helpful and helped up pick the best package for our night. The Omni arena was such an experience, very clean and fun! Very family friendly place. I highly recommend this place for any age! I give Shankz a 5 star even during this rough time because they still exceeded our expectations. Thanks Shankz for having us, we will be back!

April L.

Yelp
In need of family fun then you should come! We had a lot of fun playing golf in the dark. I wish the edges were more illuminated as it was very frustrating to hit an edge I did not see..... but at least my husband won in Fathers Day.

Michael B.

Yelp
Not a bad place for a date. The putt-putt course was a bit confusing on following the scoring, and the last hole was weird. Fun games here, and the staff was nice and friendly.

Lindsey Z.

Yelp
Highly recommend Shankz for a birthday party. They were organized, efficient, and patient handling 12 kids. They got to do the time freak room, one round of golf, and the cannon blaster. Our employee Keaton was great and I was able to sit back and just let the kids have fun. They supply all the plates and flatware that was glow in the dark as well as drinks and ice cream. They also had a t shirt that the kids could write on for my daughter to keep. We ended the party with 5 dollar cards for the kids to play games. They also gave us a free round of golf for next time we come as well as a 10 dollar game card. Well worth the money!!

Julie N.

Yelp
Had a great time with the family. I've been searching for a fun night with kids and hubby. It was really fun. The glow in the dark golfing had moderate challenge level course. So we all had a good time. I would of gave 5stars but felt really rushed by the family behind us. The group in front of us took their time and we patiently waited. Will do this again.

Krystle S.

Yelp
My kid loves putt putt golf and loved this concept. We really enjoyed Shankz! And there's more than putt putt!

Ileana L.

Yelp
Had such a great time celebrating a friends birthday. It was a large group of us and we had a blast!

Megan M.

Yelp
My family has been to Shankz (this location & different locations) before. We even had both of my daughter's birthday parties here a couple of years ago. Like the idea, indoors is a must in the summer of Texas heat and it was a great place for the mother-daughter date that I had with my 6 year old. So we went on a Wednesday night at 4:30 and as we're going through the holes I'm hearing some of the lyrics to the songs being played. I did not write down the lyrics verbatim as I was trying to not draw attention to what I was doing on the tiny space left on our scorecard. Some of the lyrics included were about getting a girl in her birthday suit, girl I wanna turn you on, and talking about dirty little secrets. Those are just the 3 songs that I heard/noticed. Now, I understand that you're never going to please everyone. Some people will complain about pretty much anything. However, considering that again, this was at 4:30 on a Wednesday (not even 8:00 or 9:00 pm or even later) I was not happy with the music choices that were playing and found them inappropriate for "family fun" which is what this place is supposed to be. Again, if it was later in the evening and therefore atypical for someone to be bringing their young children then I wouldn't be upset about this. But the last thing I need is for my 6 yo to be asking me "what's a birthday suit" or "what does 'turn you on' mean?". Yes, there is an age, a time and place for these questions but 6 years old at 4:30 on a Wednesday and at Shankz is not the time or place. There are plenty, in fact tons, of musical choices that are just as upbeat and fun without the sexual nature of these song choices. Honestly, that is my only complaint.

Andrew P.

Yelp
Waited an hour for 8 minutes of fun (and 30 minutes of monotonous, hot mini-mini-mini-MINI golf) Went on a Saturday night around 7:30, my group of 6 was put in their iPad queue and told to "wait about an hour". Finally I decided to walk up to the desk and check the iPad, my group was next to be called BUT for some reason the employee (who I believe is the manager or owner. 35ish year old man wearing a collard shirt) called a different group before us. I wouldn't really classify any of the holes as fun. There were some obstacles but they got old fast- so I decided to try and toss my ball into the hole. Big mistake, the same employee from before came running back to tell me NO, not allowed. Turns out there are cameras EVERYWHERE. To the point were it's a little creepy. When we left we returned the clubs, but the same employee again frantically came over to us to make sure I returned the one pair of 3D glasses I paid for. Let me clarify, for TWO DOLLARS I bought a pair of 3D glasses to make our golf experience "three dimensional". In reality it just made everything a little blurry and hurt my head. Well turns out these glasses were just a rental, must be some high quality lenses...(they weren't) I would give this place 2 or even 3 stars if maybe the manager/owner guy showed some remorse for having us wait an hour to pay $60. But he did not, he was much more concerned with getting the 3D glasses back Suggestions: don't go on a weekend night, don't get the 3D glasses, don't expect to not be watched for the entire duration of your golf game.

John S.

Yelp
Every time I have come here there is a 45 min wait. I've played mini golf hundreds of times all over the country and never had to wait. I think the entire process might be a scam so that you play video games and spend money while you wait. Also no food or drinks for sale. I wouldn't waste time coming here again. Costs a lot of money to just stand around

Yuni E.

Yelp
This place was good for the whole family I could not use the yelp deal, so it was over $30 bucks for two kids and two adults but we had fun the glow in dark theme was pretty cool they also sell the glow in the dark necklaces for kids or adults :) the kids and us had a great time they do host birthday parties and company events as well,I like it and we will be back for more playtime and is indoor so that's a plus for me and the kids.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Took the two boys (ages 9 & 12) here yesterday and we had a good time. The black light is pretty cool and golfing in the dark adds some challenge to the course. Added props to the friendly staff who went out of their way to find my lost ID (fell out of my pocket when I took out my phone). We went on a summer afternoon and the holes got a little backed up. Also, it would be good if staff monitored the play once in a while-we were playing near a party of teens who actually hit me with their ball once because they were hitting hard and fooling around. But overall, it was a successful outing and the boys would like to go back.

Kimmy R.

Yelp
So much fun!! We had four adults and four boys and with the Yelp deal it was a real bargain. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. Fun to see everyone glowing in the dark. My son is addicted to mini golf and this was the only option while on vacation here...glad to have it! Everything was very clean. Children under 4 are FREE!

Deanna O.

Yelp
What a fun, quirky indoor golf place quaintly hidden in a shopping center. It was first time, but not my step-daughters. The two young adults were very nice at the counter. It was mid afternoon on Saturday and not busy at all!! While waiting our turn for golf, the kids played air hockey and claw games. The course was fun, with black lights and animals and neat obstacles. It was clean, operational and roomy. Good times!

Tom G.

Yelp
Maybe it's a little on the pricey side, and one or two of the holes seemed a tad ill-maintained, but I think if you just go in for a round or two of the mini golf and ignore the extra expenses, you'll have fun. They do a good job of staggering the groups. I went with my 3 year old and we neither caught up with anyone nor got caught up on. This place is more a 3.5, but since Yelp forces whole stars, I'll bump it to 4 since my daughter had a great time.

Annika H.

Yelp
Great hospitality for my daughters birthday party. Very reasonably priced Very organized Didn't mind that we went over on our time by about 15 minutes 5 stars

Patrick H.

Yelp
Fun change of place to go for mini golf. My boys like going and the people working do a good job of keeping the groups separated by controlling when you start. Would be nice if it was bigger and had another course and more video games to play. Can be a little cramped when they are crowded. Still fun to do.

Janet C.

Yelp
My family drove all the way from Sugar Land to try out this place. My young children loved it. The black light miniature golf is a great idea...the entire family thought it is very cool. This location also has an air cannon game (Ballaster), air hockey, and some arcade type games. PROS: - The games themselves are fun. - Clean, nice location. CONS: - Rather pricey. Cost was $34 for less than an hour of golf and $16 for a family of 4 to play air hockey. The arcade games cost more. - The staff should monitor more closely the families who show poor manners and crowd the families in front of them by starting to play the same course before the first family is done. Overall, it was an enjoyable morning of play.

Kelly R.

Yelp
Good fun in the woodlands area and we will definitely go back. I'd say it's pretty pricey but you have to keep the putt putt dream alive, right? We saw two birthday party groups which were having a blast. We had loads of fun and it was memorable especially when my daughter recalled it "goof." Which is how it can feel with your inability to see very well and looking charming in the black lights with glowy teeth and whatnot.

Albert G.

Yelp
Great little outing hidden in the Woodlands. It did take a couple of spins but we finally found it. It's hidden in the corner of a shopping center next to Jax burgers. The course is simple and short but very enjoyable, plus it's indoors. The glow in the dark and 3d made it pretty cool and my 5 year old really enjoyed herself. It was nice to find something different specially since we had already tried everything by the end of the summer. Definitely worth it if you're in the area. I don't know if I would make a trip out of it if you're not too close.

K G.

Yelp
Stop by this place today for some miniature golf. Had a great time. The course was a little short but we still had a good time. Played some of the games on the foyer. Glad we stopped by was able to be free and act like little kids again and enjoy some glow in the dark miniature golf. The staff was really good.

I've been wanting to go to Shankz for a long time now and after 3 years of passing it up, I finally got the chance tonight. I'm happy to say I was not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and there were more than enough arcade games to play while we waited for our turn to go into the putt-putt room. Even though the actual playing area wasn't as big as most places it didn't hinder our game in any way. Due to the smaller size I expected it to be warmer but surprisingly I didn't get warm until the very last hole and that was with a sweater on (due to the cold weather). Overall I would recommend anyone to come to Shankz its fun for the whole family and I only hope you have as great a time as I did! :)
