Google
Our friend showed us their beautiful library. I could image that I would like to be here for study in quiet study rooms or computer labs if I were a Michigan student. There were many beautiful wallpapers, pictures and windows. It was freezing outside, but there were a few students studying inside. Hopefully, the weather would not get worse this Saturday. The game must be crazy this year.

The library is not a very good place to study. Although they have done some renovations recently, it is still a bit outdated and more work needs to be done. Also, there are no quiet places. I wish that the library could have areas where groups can study and chat and other areas for quiet studying.

The Bert’s Cafe has good latte!

I really like the Shapiro library because of all the resources that are there for students. There are obviously computers, lounges, and a cafe, but even for students who don't go to the university it can be a good study spot. However during the school year it is a bit of challenge to get a study spot.

Great place to study, and a great location too. Can get crowded sometimes, especially before a rly big exam. Would still definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to study, and are an undergraduate.

It's so pretty, I don't know why people keep saying its ugly. Has very conveniently placed bathrooms.

it’s okay. i’d like it better if the fourth floor sprinklers came on every time someone tried talking. wrong floor !!!

same loud noise level at each floor. If you want peace and quiet to study be ready to get confrontational at any hour of the day or night

Yelp
It's hit or miss in terms of finding a place to sit. There aren't many windows and it's kind of stuffy. The girls bathroom is absolutely disgusting. I don't know why. It looks nice when you walk in because that's what they renovated some time ago, but otherwise, UGLi is its name for a reason.

Yelp
We came for a workshop led by a staff person from the Grants & Foundations Librarian, Paul Barrows. So we're here to make use computer instructional lab space - on 4th floor. As with most Library facilities, this one is spacious & quiet this last factor likely because it is finals week at U-M. I'm always impressed at the sheer volume of seating space available at Shapiro - though it's said to be not as quiet as Hatcher, I sometime found an upper nook where fewer folks were to study. We made use of a computer lab room this visit which is slated to be redone because the acoustics design of the room make it difficult to hear if you sit in the rear... a beautiful new screened area on main floor had large monitors & multi-screen clusters available for limited use for presentations. Power outlets in same area to recharge your devices. Overall a wonderful place to hangout on U-M campus but of course, minus the hassle of parking. (We parked .25 mile away)
