Sharing Excess provides what we, as a society/ community, need to do. Instead of letting perfectly good food go to waste (40% of all food in the US), Sharing Excess collects and re-distributes food to non-profits and groups in need. SE appears to run a tight ship. (organized, efficient and very nice and helpful). A great group of people doing the right thing. Started by a (or a few) local college student(s). Admittedly, I am still learning about this group... but they are doing good and doing it well. The chefs at the non-profit where I volunteer rave about the food quality. And, we were going to through it all away???
