"The beloved chain of 24-hour diners suddenly closed all of its Oregon locations on October 20. Deb Melina, a manager at the Shari’s on Northeast Airport Way in Portland, told KGW the location has been in “hospice” for the last few months, and a telling Yelp review of a Eugene-area location noted the restaurant was out of pie. The closure leaves a gap in Oregon’s late-night dining scene, especially in smaller communities where few around-the-clock restaurants exist." - Rebecca Roland

I understand it was 2am, but still, I paid money for food that shouldn't have left the expo station. The Hangover burger looked like it was cooked and slapped together by a 2 year old, with a tasteless patty that was falling apart, two very small, very soggy bacon strips, soggy hashbrowns that didn't make sense as it was the driest burger I've ever had, and lettuce and tomato that reached its last leg two days ago. I also order the loaded fries, which absolutely did not look like the picture as it came in the smallest plastic clamshell, with the smallest amount of fries and cheese and a dash of the biggest bacon bits I've seen. I added Sriracha Mayo to the burger to help with the dryness, and honestly, that was the only thing I tasted as there was no flavor anywhere whatsoever. Shari's has been my go-to late night diner, but this location I will never visit or order from again. The cherry on top was the strawberry milkshake, which they sealed shut with a sticker (I understand that, food safety), but at least have a way for it to be peeled off. After wrestling with that damn seal for about 10 minutes, I decided to just stab the straw through the seal, as it was a milkshake straw (a paper straw, larger in diameter). The seal was so strong that when I tried to stab the straw through, the whole lid busted open, literally in pieces, sending whipped cream and the shake FLYING EVERYWHERE. I cleaned up the mess, and just the whole cup ended up in the trash. In summary, very, very disappointing. Do not waste your money here!

This place is by far the best breakfast place I've ever been to. I got the BYO omelette and coffee. Good coffee, great omelette, and the best service. Laura is an over the top, high quality waitress. She lives by the mottos of service with a smile and "if there's time to lean, there's time to clean". She doesn't let a minute go by without organizing, prepping, cleaning, and servicing guests. The atmosphere is simple which is refreshing. Come here for the food and service. You'll be back time and again.

So I used to love Shari's but it's not as good as it used to be. I went a few years ago and was so disappointed I didn't want to go back. Fast forward to tonight. The lady was super nice and patient on the phone. The order was ready when I got there. I was feeling a bit optimistic...but for $14 & 16 plates I expected much more. The Country Fried Steak had such a small piece of meat and a handful of fries. My sandwhich was a good size but again it had a small handful of fries. The small portion of meat was disappointing. But I've never been to a place that was this stingy with fries of all things.

Not the best food in town, but the blueberry waffle was pretty good. The pancakes looked massive and fluffy. The service was pretty awesome. Our server did great.

We had a late morning party of 7. Service was excellent. Our food came out almost perfectly, quickly and definitely delicious. Plenty of coffee and water refils. We would definitely return if we were staying in the area longer.

Place is on the brink of going out of business. Smelt of urine upon entering. Out of pies. Very limited menu as they are out of everything else. Dirty floors. Dirty booths. Non functional mens bathroom. Service was kind. I truly felt bad for the staff. They are trying their best. Had to leave before food arrived and went somewhere else.

The food was good, the service was on point, and the building shows the test of time. a Bit dirty, torn seats, obviously have not been redone in ages but given the age of this style restaurant, it is no surprise.

Food is always good. But they were out of a TON of food items. (Steak, Queso cheese, drinking glasses...etc) The lady that was SUPPOSED to wait on us was REALLY disrespectful to another co worker IN FRONT of a customers table. This waitress was from Springfield sharies. Tammi who is absolutely a dlight to have as a waitress, she was trying to help her co worker out by bringing a drink to the table this co worker was waiting on and right in front of the customers she told Tammi, next time let me get my own table. My mouth dropped. I went up to the host that took me to my table and I asked her if I could switch Waitress as the other one was super rude. And the Rude waitress said Ithe the host, " Sharing is caring I wouldn't mind if you took that table" (my table) so we had MUCH better service. Sharies was NOT busy. There were like 4 5 tables being used. There was absolutely no reasoning for her disrespect.
