Shari's Cafe and Pies

The best thing about this Diner is the service! Our wait staff were on top of everything. ⏰ We had to wait awhile for our food, about 35 minutes. It was quite empty since it was their first day of opening since covid. The decor could use an update. The food was average and comparable to most diner food.

Over cooked chicken tenders. Had to get my own coffee refill, my meds was served 5+ minutes after my fiancée had his meal. Snippy waitress who gave me the Karen attitude when I told her what was wrong. She’s lucky she got $3 tip… she deserved zero

We had an excellent waitress! She was responsive and helpful and corrected any issues we had. This could have easily been a one star. However, Shelby was excellent and just all around did an amazing job.

Nice restaurant, delicious food, good service. They have some negatives but I gave them five stars as encouragement to improve the restaurant 🙏

Clean, fast service. The chocolate milkshakes are the only reason I come to a Shari's. Order inside and take the rest to go -- you get way more than if you order to-go. Feels like the waitstaff is consistently understaffed at every location, so be patient & kind.

I came late around 3 AM and was good food and fine service

The servers were kind and welcoming. The food did get all three of us sick later. Our Burger was burnt crunchy and cold. Pancakes were barely warm so butter couldn't melt. Mozzarella sticks we're clearly fried in old grease the tasted awful.. shocked I paid near 70.00 for the people and they couldn't even make the sticks edible.

Came here with a small group of friends from work, and it was pretty great! Service was good and the food was as well. I had been fiending for a good cheeseburger, so I ordered the double cheddar bacon burger with loaded fries. All the homies liked their food too. We will definitely be back again!

Adios. There was a time this place was so busy at night; the hostess was taking reservations! You have no one to blame but yourselves for destroying an entire company.

I went back here to eat on my own one morning. The same "opening waitress" was working, the polite one. She's very sweet & attentive to her duties/clientele. I ordered biscuits & gravy. Two sides, bacon & turkey sausage. Hash browns, fried eggs. Coffee & milk. The entire meal cost me around $51 after the tip. A glass of milk was $4.50. The sides were expensive as well. I didn't really look around this time to see if housekeeping was any better. I brushed some crumbs off the bench before I sat. It was a sleepy morning on a weekday right after opening when I visited. Hope this helps someone! Be good.

We came in during the middle of the afternoon and thought we'd have breakfast. There was only two other tables so I thought it'd be okay. There was only one wait person working. She came and took our orders after a few minutes but wow, the wait for the food was long! Maybe the cook(s) were on a break but our food was fine when we did get it. I felt bad for the one wait person and I left a large tip for her.

Solid food, solid people, what else can you ask for? Had the seasonal pancakes - yum!

Everything needs improving. Start with the waitress who when I complained that my pancakes were cold said she didn't care. We sat with empty coffee cups a the while waitress was cleaning her service area or gossiping with other staff. There were 3 tables being used yet she couldn't find time to ever ask how our meal was. But then, she didn't care. Lesson learned. Never going to Shari's again.

Friendly service, food was good (I had the meat lovers skillet). Typical shitty coffee otherwise no complaints.

Oh. No. No, no, no, no, no, no. I had surgery two days ago so ordered two turkey dinners for Thanksgiving. I ordered 24 hours in advance, and once my credit card was charged, the website said to park in a designated pickup spot and call. Upon arrival, about 20 people were waiting, and the phone wasn't being answered. An employee came out and told whoever could hear that they weren't going to answer the phone, and everyone would just have to wait. We waited a half an hour after our designated pickup time, but after talking to another customer who had been waiting 90 minutes after her time, we bailed. Shame on you, Shari's, for soliciting orders you couldn't fulfill just the day before. I hope at least you were able to donate the food we left behind. Popcorn for Thanksgiving dinner this year, thanks to Shari's. A classic capper to 2020.

Love this place. Servers always friendly and food great. Come here weekly for breakfast and invite friends to join me. Love the music.

Came in late on a Friday night with like 15 people. I was expecting bad service because of how many of us just showed up. Wrong. The service was better than some fancy restaurants I've been too. The wait staff, was kind and quick to help. They moved a bunch of tables together for us and with a smile! All around I'm impressed! The staff are all stars!

If I could give it 0 stars I wouldn't give it any. We had a party of 6 adults & 2 children... we were seated and then we waited about an hour to place our order. Mind you we hadn't even been served water or drinks! We got there close to 7:15... by the time we left it was close to 8:10... our server then made excuses as to why she couldn't help us... yet she was able to cash out multiple customers orders... clean tables... a polite notification of when we would be served drinks would've been nice. Like "hey I'll be with you in just a moment." As we sat and saw one gentleman served his meal. When we decided we weren't staying our server then decided to elaborate on what she's going... then other customers started to chime in. Super unprofessional. We were then told they were short handed... excuses just don't work when we've been waiting for an hour+ We ran into another group after we left. We went to Mikes! They had said they left because they only had gotten drinks and nothing else... meaning they didn't order food because of the server not coming to check on them!

Everything about this place is good, but the pies are the only thing that will actually knock your socks off. WOW, they are amazing.

Not worth your money, would have rather had cereal. Staff doesn't even realize your there, they need a bell on the door or something.

This is my local Shari's. I have eaten here in person pre-pandemic and also ordered delivery via DoorDash. In the past year, I have become gluten free and I feel like my options with Shari's are way more limited. Today, I ordered the Farmer's breakfast via DoorDash. I got eggs over medium, sausage links and the only two gluten free breakfast sides -- hash browns and a fruit cup. Everything arrived hot. The egg yolks were at the right amount of runniness for medium. The sausage and hashbrowns were browned nicely. In terms of portions and gluten free options, I feel that Shari's doesn't live up to the competition in the area such as Biscuits, Original Pancake House or even Denny's. The fruit cup I received only had a quarter cup of fruit -- I would have been willing to pay more to get more fruit. Plus, they don't have any gluten free toast or pancake options. Lastly, I wish they included ketchup for the hashbrowns. There were no condiments or napkins included with the order and it would have been nice to have. Overall, it was a decent basic breakfast, but I really wish Shari's would up their game with the gluten free options.

This location has really gone down hill. They seem to be lacking cook staff, and they allow that to affect every aspect of their business. If their cook staff is behind, they will leave an entire lobby full of customers sitting and waiting for one of the many open tables in order to keep people from ordering food. Instead of seating people and keeping their lobby clear and serving people beverages. Many of the servers tend to stand around chatting to a regular customer or another employee while ignoring those needing to be sat. It shouldn't take two people to dish up one piece if to-go pie while you have open tables and customers waiting. The blonde woman who is always there seems to be the main person hustling around trying to get stuff done.

Neighborhood restaurant with decent food and prices. The pies are great and there's always a big selection. They always seem to be open, even on Thanksgiving!

Ordered some food to go while under quarantine but they forgot the Hollandaise with the eggs Benedict we ordered. I called back, talk to Tammy, and she worked it out and got some Hollandaise to our house. I am so grateful and the food was actually really good. We were very pleased for the help and urgency :)

I'm so glad I didn't go with the reviews on this place bc I was so pleasantly surprised! Being from the east coast, and unfamiliar with Shari's, I was looking for breakfast while my friend slept in on a Sunday morning. It was close. So here I am. Seated promptly, coffee was great. I went with one of the things pictured with cinnamon roll French toast. Upgraded to the special stuffed hashbrowns. (Watching my figure, u know? Lol) There. Are. No. Words. I literally ate every bite of that French toast. I'm not a sweet breakfast person either, but the picture sold me. Boy would I have been pissed to know I could have missed this! Hashbrowns were def worth the upgrade. Very tasty! Bacon was the thick, hearty. To be honest, I actually snapped that this was breakfast heaven captioned on the pic. Shari's pies definitely impressed this breakfast lover!

Horrible - my club sandwich was SAD. One measly slice of turkey, mayo when I asked for nine, wet and soggy, one piece of lettuce which was the butt of the head of lettuce, a almost white tomato, avocado that I paid extra for was MAYBE a slice and all smashed into on corner. Just horrible service and food. My waiter never said how is everything probably use he knew it sucked. Worst excuse of a club sandwich and we'll never go back (They we're not busy at all slow service)

Love this Shari's! The staff is hard working and extremely friendly! Since starting the Keto diet, my partner and I come here about 2-3 times a week. The servers had all made efforts to get to know us and a few are even on the Keto diet as well. They help us order the right items for our diet and are very patient when we order bizarre items, like the meat lovers skillet with no toast or hashbrowns and eggs on the side. Mark and Stacey are the best!! This place can get pretty busy but the staff has always made an effort to make sure we're taken care of in a timely manner.

What did you expect? Great selection of pies though. Its clean. Open 24/7. The staff are as nice as can be expected. The cook times are awesome. Any problem are fixed right away. The view is where it's at. Ducks and Geese are plenty.

Fresh off the freezer truck and on to your plate. You get what you expect from a chain restaurant.

The two ladies who worked tonight were horrible. We were snapped at when we walked in about our masks not being on right. We were seated and for 30 minutes were ignored while they stood by and had a chat! Didn't get to order, no food and when we left they were snide and I confess I was a little rude as we left. I flipped them the bird as they continued to be rude. I believe their names were amber and brissa

I had a breakfast burrito for $11.49 for lunch today. Half the plate was hash browns, fine. But the big flour burrito cut in two was half filled with what looked to be little and brittle overcooked hash browns. Advertised scrambled eggs? Maybe a tablespoon between both halves. Advertised bacon, sausage, and ham? Not kidding here when I say tiny cubes barely 1/4" might've measured a tablespoon. Advertised green pepper? I found about two pieces of cilantro. They made a killing on that one because it's ALL FLOUR AND POTATOES, very cheap to purchase! Sure wish I'd taken a photo of the open burrito; then you could see for yourself. Service was terrible, at least a half hour for orders of four people. Do not want to ever eat at a Shari's again! If I could give it 0 stars I would do that, but can't post a review on Yelp without clicking at east one star.

Their food is always good to eat it doesn't matter what you order it is always prepared to your liking. They make great coffee always fresh and hot. Their pies are awesome best one that I like more than all of them is the Marion Berry Cheese Pie. Most of all on why I give it a 5 star, is cause the floors and bathrooms are always clean.

OMG!! The big blond bombshell wait person was absolutely obnoxious. I frequently purchase pies at Sharis.. It's usually not a big deal they put the whole pie in a plastic to go box, however I know they have nice card board boxes to go. I asked for those as I was planning to take 2 pies to a very special event and wanted to show case the pies. I was told the pies were going into the plastic to go containers and that's it. Well, sweetheart, not on my watch and walked out without the pies. And get this, when I asked the prices of the pies she said it depends. Ok. Well what is cost on the Apple pie? In a huff, as I asked a range of prices, she scanned her card into the pos system to get the price. I dunno. She had some agenda toward me I guess. All's I wanted were 2 pies in 2 boxes. I knew they offered boxes as the prior week I purchased 2 pies and they were put in the nice to go boxes.

This is worst Shari's I have been at by far im shocked. Poor seating, dirty silverware, dirty cups this absolutely disgusting. My food was cold and I had egg shells in my meat lovers plate, The only thing that was decent was the waitress she was polite but I will never visit another Shari's establishment.

Nice simple restaurant, but I can't do it anymore. It's difficult to pay at the end of my meal almost every time because the line is not marked, I've had clueless people switch in front of me. The cashiers will sometimes have long unnecessary conversations with customers ahead of me and don't mind making me wait to pay for my meal. That is quite inconvenient seeing that I have my three young children with me. I'm so ready to go when I finish my meal. They are usually kind otherwise.

Came in around 730ish after trick or treating.. 6 adults, 2 kids (18 months and 4.5) to eat. We waited 20 minutes after being sat before someone finally came over. We left! Staff was rude... they had 4 other tables in the entire restaurant. Made excuses about they wrote busy... umm no. And another couple left a few minutes before us, who we saw a bit later when we went to Mikes instead said they were waiting awhile and left because they were not helped either!!! Super disappointed, as I have been here lots of times with my parents for dinner or with friends for pie. Would not recommend for late night dinners!!!

Pie review only-- we ordered a Deep Dish Washington Apple Pie and a Peanut Butter Chocolate Silk Pie for Thanksgiving (delivery). Both arrived fresh and on time and were absolutely delicious. I'll definitely keep them in mind for future occasions!

I used to go here often but it's really gone downhill lately with poor service. I went there yesterday, was seated and sat there for 15 minutes and no one asked to take my order. The young waitress I did flag down, actually expressed surprise ( and seemed annoyed) that I wanted to order. Well yes, that's why I'm holding this menu and asking you do come over to my table. After my order was placed, I never got my house salad before dinner and had to ask for it again. Also, I sat with an empty ice tea glass for most of my dinner as no one asked to refill it. On this second occasion too of ordering fish and chips, they once again forgot to bring the coleslaw which is listed on the menu as being part of the food. The coleslaw was anything but 'creamy' as noted on menu, looked like it was made 2 weeks ago and I didn't eat it. I doubt I return to this location again, maybe the others are better, I don't know.

Empty restaurant and customers waiting, plenty of staff (More then was needed for the amount of customers), no one to seat us. Finally we get seated and order drinks and then food. We wait for our food and it comes out crapy. The burger was dry, the BBQ pulled pork had no BBQ sauce on it and the breakfast that was ordered didn't taste right. Once we got our food no one said boo to us. Drinks ran dry. Not sure when we will be back after this disaster.

I just went in for a pie not less than 30 minutes ago. Chocolate cream. Looked amazing in the case, looks even better on my plate. We bought a whole pie so I'll snap a photo later. The service was prompt, friendly and personable. I've eaten here on Thanksgiving and the food and service was amazing. But that was then and this is now. Great service. Wonderful food. Great view. Always a good time. Very satisfied!

This is what happens on New Years Eve (or any respectable holiday, really): You celebrate with the boozies and sleep in late. When we finally got the energy to get up and find some grub, it was later than we had thought. We roll in to Dutch and while our coffee is steaming, the barista asks us what we're up to. "Breakfast," I say, and she looks at me strangely, telling me it was awful late for breakfast. I check my clock, and it was past noon. Eek! Our first choice was Toast, but seeing it was closed, we knew we'd have to go to a mediocre chain that we knew would be open. So we hop on over to Milwaukie Marketplace for some good ol' Shari's, instead of Taco Bell. We were seated at a cramped two-person booth (they were pretty full), and ordered food. My poached eggs were actually pretty awesome, and so was my English muffin (but really, how can you go wrong with toast?), but I could have done without the not-crispy-bacon and the stuffed hash browns that were basically browns with sour cream (and I LOVE my browns). Also, I wasn't really surprised, but they were kind of spendy, for a ghetto place, you know. My breakfast was around $9.50, and granted that was a lot of food, but I could have gotten something much tastier and with better quality someplace else. You get what you expect at Shari's, but hey...it's open New Years Day....

ok so we decided "hey, it's Sunday 4.30 and we want some food and pie." Well that was a horrible idea. After waiting about 10 min for menus, water, drinks we waiting a other 20 or so minutes to get someone to take our order. We actually had to get up to ask about getting our orders taken. Then began the long wait for our food. after about another 30 min wait all except one of our meals arrived. our waitress then went on to clean a table, ring in an order, ask another table about their order. We had to get up again and ask about the food to, what looked like, a manager. He went to the window and their was the food just waiting. We waiting for water and got some pie before heading out. Even checking out was a fiasco. Three swipes of the card (resulting in two authorizations) and a wrong reciept later. We finally left with a bad taste in our mouths.

They need to stop doing online to-go service. Never done at the time. Not even know order has been submitted till I get there. I was there to pick up order around 8:45am (Order was supposed to be done by 8:30am) She said it is almost done. But NO! I think they were starting to make my order after I got there. And she told me to order by phone not the online. Then Why they are doing online order service if they are not even taking order by online? I'd order twice but all of time, never done. I totally understand it could happen once but not everytime I order.

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving feast at Sheri's! I couldn't have prepared all the yummy, traditional foods for 3 of us for that price. The servers kept their spirits up even though they were slammed. I MUST go back for the pumpkin cream pie before it is out of season.

I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant last night. We placed an online order for two breakfast entrées and a milkshake. Unfortunately the online order failed so we had to call it in. When the time came for the order to be ready, we drove to go pick it up. When we got to the restaurant, they had no idea what phone order we were talking about and couldn't find the issue for the online order. Although it took a long time, we finally got our order in and were given free coffee to help our wait. After we received our food, we drove back home to eat and when we took our meals out of the bag only 2/3rds of what we ordered was in there. After the fiasco we had getting the food in the first place, I didn't think it was worth it to go complain. The management needs to better staff this place and be aware of the poor quality of service received here.

This place has TOTALLY gone down hill. The cooks are so slow and don't seem to know what they are doing. Salad is frozen, manager is a TOTAL IDIOT, he is argumentative, rude and uncaring and has no business being a manager of a restaurant. We come here once a week for lunch, we will be looking for another place for lunch. Shame on this restaurant!!! Servers are awesome!

This is by far the worst Shari's I have been in!!! They served all my food cold. Forgot items. Brought out my whole families food at different times. And the servers are just plain rude. Along with their manager. I will not be coming back in.

We were seated quickly and they brought us our drinks right away, the waiter seemed very nice the food was okay but after he served our meal he did not come back we waited about 20 minutes and then went up to the counter to get our bill and pie (to go) because we did not want to wait any longer. The gal at the register was rude and did not apologize for us having to wait so long. It will be a long time till we go back there again.

I didn't one star because there wasn't anything lower. My boyfriend and I had came here to eat breakfast and when he got the first part there were ants on it. And when I got mine the sausage and eggs were not hot nor warm. They were cold. Customer service was terrible too.

First time to Shari's in 6 years! WOWZA. Its the same thing...cute little 24hr diner. The food was good....service lacked a bit as I watched other tables get refills and my "date" get refills and my water glass was empty. This location for some reason was extremely cold. Not cold hearted but the wind against the windows and sitting by the windows was freezing. However...fairly clean and good food. You have to enjoy Shari's Pie too. OMG they are just to die for delicious!

You guys saved christmas We had unprepared family coming over and my partner bought an entire Christmas dinner that was amazing from you all Amazing

Let me say, three waitresses and they are all stuck in la la land. We stood around waiting for quite some time. To the point where we were getting a clue of how the evening was going to go. But we were starving and thought ok. We will try it. Let's think positive. BAH yea right. Stupid us. I watched my food sit on the pass probably about 11 min. So when it finally arrived.... shocker alert. Cold. Not to mention I asked for no peppers. And of course. Loaded with peppers. The ONLY reason this place got two stars was because she comped our drinks and gave us a discount. Never ever EVER going back.
