Exceptional jewelry exceptional value amazing service. We went here for my husbands wedding ring and when they didn’t have to style he wanted they advised me where to get it and then engraved it for me. I’ve shopped here multiple times since and the owner is a delight. Fixed a earring for me at no charge. Will definitely shop here often!

Chris resized my (brand new) engagement ring overnight! I couldn’t be happier with it. Last summer, I spent a rainy morning doing laundry at the Pine Tree and browsing at Shaw. I knew I didn’t want a traditional diamond engagement ring, and the employees and I enjoyed the slow morning trying on so many different rings—different styles, different stones! Even though I didn’t end up getting my ring here, the experience was so meaningful to me. So when it came time to get my engagement ring resized, I knew I wanted to come back to Shaw.

There are many lovely pieces of jewelry and artwork in this store. However, my visit makes me not want to return. Our time browsing was spent being blatantly watched and followed throughout the store, as if the salesperson thought we were shoplifters. I don't know what we did to warrant such behavior, but it made us feel very unwelcome, especially as locals.

This gallery is fabulous, and Sam Shaw's creations ROCK. I mean, really! I purchased a gorgeous ring created from a beach stone encircled in 22 k brushed gold. The stone is actually basalt, and it's oblong with a matte black finish. I saw a similar one on a woman seated next to me at a Bar Harbor cocktail party and asked her about it. She said, "It's a beach rock." I told her that I've looked for something like this for a long time and she told me where to find it! Thanks, Sam, for my ROCK. (If you go into the gallery for something specific, as I did, however, you may want to put on blinders. I could easily have spent a million dollars on jewelry for myself and as gifts for all of my friends and family.)

Incredible art and craftsmanship from a variety of local and national artists. Jewelry by Hughes-Bosca stands out. Gallery owner, artist and goldsmith Sam Shaw is a wellspring of warmth and creativity. Everything they sell is unique and special. My fave place on the island.
