My partner and I ordered a mixed platter and we noticed the beef was very fatty and pretty much inedible. This was disappointing because I used to eat at this location a long time ago and the quality and freshness was much better. Not long after we ate we felt very sick and it definitely was something to do with the meat. I’m not sure if it wasn’t cooked properly but my partner and I both felt extremely sick, almost to the point of throwing up. We will not be coming back and was a waste of money considering the plate with taxes is almost $30. They should atleast be paying attention to making sure they’re not making customers pay just to be sick after because of they’re negligence.

On the rise! Huge portions. Chicken well flavoured and seared. The potatos are crispy and well seasoned!! Ask for Garlic in top of your potatoes

The food was really good, especially the quantity.The staff were nice and helpful too. The only downsides were that the place was a bit cold, the music was too loud, and they mixed up my spicy shawarma with the regular one. It would be great if they used stickers to label them. Overall, still a good experience!

The food was excellent as always, every time we come to Ottawa this our go-to place for shawarma. Never get disappointed. It's a little pricey, but portions are as big. This time I also tried the fish, it tasted really good. I would highly recommend this place. No wonder they have been voted number one shawarma place in Ottawa. I don't think any one can match their taste in Toronto. I hope the taste stays the same for years to come. Best of luck

I usually don’t like leaving bad reviews, but this place clearly doesn’t appreciate their customers. I’m a regular here, and they served me a dry beef burger. When I brought it up, they simply said, “We can’t do anything.” That’s really disappointing I expected better treatment and respect as a loyal customer.

I've been coming here for over 10 years, and it never disappoints. Food is always fresh with healthy servings. The chicken is always juicy and delicious. Best shawarma in Ottawa. It's worth every penny. Thank you!

Literally the smallest wrap I’ve ever got in my life. I should have went to 3 brothers and got a wrap there. This is crazy, it’s literally the size of a hot dog. I literally watched him load everyone else’s orders and barely even any chicken in mine. I got a vegetable wrap with a hint of chicken. Never going back to Shawarma palace again

Came to Shawarma Palace after shawarma came highly recommended by a friend and generally this meal did not disappoint! The portion sizes are RIDICULOUS. For us modest appetites, this is easily 3 meals - easily! We ordered 2 plates and a sandwich for 4 people and still had enough leftovers for a small breakfast the morning after. My personal favorite was the mixed shawarma plate. I love how it comes with pita made specifically for Shawarma Palace, rice, potatoes, salad, pickled veg, and the meat. We also got the mixed kabob plate which featured tender beef but the chicken kabob was just a hair bit dry. The falafel sandwich was actually very dry and I would not recommend this. We also picked up some baklava for dessert after and I liked how it was just sweet enough! You can taste the pistachios and I thought the kiss of rose water was just enough to make the bite memorable!

Happened upon this restaurant one evening. I saw a shawarma place on the north side of the street, so I prepared to turn off and go back, but here was another shawarma place. Quickly looked at Yelp and saw a fantastic number of reviews. So this place looked to be the real thing. I stepped up to the counter and ordered the beef shawarma platter to eat in. The guys just kept piling more and more on the platter. It was absolutely ridiculously huge by the time they were done. It was stacked with beef on top. As I paid, I asked for a take-out container. There was no hesitation. So obviously, this is the way they do it. I sat in the super clean dining area and started in on this massive dish. Then I saw a young family carry their plates to a table adjacent to me. And they all had these massive plates too. So after stuffing myself and hardly putting a dent in this pile of food I had to load up the take out clamshell. It would hardly close and weighed 2-3lbs (after filling myself). So if you want to buy one dish and eat a tasty healthy meal for a week. This is your place. It seemed very clean in the restaurant (signs say leave your dishes on the table - so they are obviously bussing the tables regularly). The washroom was also exceptionally clean. The staff that built my meat mountain were super friendly. I would certainly recommend this place!

My husband and I have been looking for a place like this for a long time. Five minutes of being in Canada and we found the best shawarma place on yelp. We ordered ALOT!!!! My husband got the chicken and beef platter. It came with rice, salad, potatoes, hummus, garlic sauce, and a sesame dressing. Everything was so fresh and the flavor was just out of this world. We got a pita on the side and made our own wraps. The platter works for two people, maybe even 3. Depends on how hungry you are. They give you a generous portion. We walked in and there was only one other customer. And then after we sat down sooooooo many people filed in. The restaurant is very clean and lots of room to sit inside. The employees are very friendly and they do not skimp on the sauces or the meat. We were thoroughly satisfied and can't wait to return for another vacation in Canada.

Really good shawarma! Now I know why people love this place. We got a side of potatoes, a couple falafels, and a shawarma wrap. Everything was very good. Enough to feed 2 people. My only complaint is the falafels were cold in the centre.

Been going to the shawarma palace for the past couple of months consecutively damn near everyday and it has yet to fail there has been one time where the potatoes were a little bit overcooked but other than that they're quick and reliable

The chicken shawarma wraps were pretty good! We especially liked the meat itself and the sauce that came on it.

A popular shawarma place located in the downtown ottawa area. Tried their chicken shawarma poutine and found it pretty good. Had some other friends try their wraps as well and they looked absolutely delicious. Not pictured but also had a chance to try some of their shawarma meals which were very good as well. Although I thought it was good, it's hard to say I'd come back as I'd want to try some of the other shawarma places in the area.

Best shawarma I have had in Ottawa. Though that's not saying much since I've only been to one place in Ottawa . Overall from experiencing other places outside of Ottawa this sits in my top 5. Food tasted amazing I really liked the beef/lamb shawarma and loved the toppings all fresh and that garlic Toum was amazing.

Came here for late night munchies on a weekday. Most people were doing takeout. The prices are high but the portions are generally big. The meat was dry (could've helped with sauce) and not flavored enough. The toppings were okay. The rice was mushy. The best thing about the meal was the falafels. They were huge in the most flavorful part of our meal. I recommend getting half and half meats because the people in front of us did that and they had bigger portions. The service was poor. They didn't ask if we wanted sauce on our food; they just closed the box and asked us to pay. When we asked for some hot sauce, they were annoyed. We wish we went to Shawarma Brothers down on the same street.

Highly recommended to me by Ottawa-locals, this place did not disappoint and was a solid 5-star shawarma place. In short, they've got big portions, large shavings of chicken, all the pickled fix-ins, seasoned potatoes, and a fresh side of salad. To summarize - delicious and reasonably priced!

Huge portions for plates. The beef and chicken shawarma are both excellent, but I preferred the flavor on the chicken more. Everything is so tasty, the rice, potatoes, salad. If you get the plate, it is way too big for one person. The price is very reasonable. There is a constant flow of customers so you know it's good. We were passing through the area and would return.

Visited Shawarma Palace while in Ottawa and this place was recommended by a friend. 10/10 recommend the chicken shawarma with a side of potatoes. The chicken was so flavorful and juicy. The potatoes were nicely seasoned with garlic. The staff were nice and provided good customer service. They do have a parking lot and indoor seating if needed. Definitely will visit again when in Ottawa.

got sick, maybe the meat was sitting too long over the xmas break I'm not sure but I got really sick the night I ate there. I didn't have anything else during the day aside from a peanut butter and fruits from home.

Everyone says the Shawarma in Ottawa is a must try. I tried one other place and it was seriously not that great, so I didn't get the hype until I came here! This place was packed on a Sunday night for dinner. Lots of people eating in, getting takeout, and also delivery. I got the Shawarma sandwich and my friends shared the Shawarma plate cause it was massive!! The price for the plate seemed more expensive than in Toronto but after considering the size, it made sense. Everything tasted great. I particularly liked the garlic sauce they used which really made the Shawarma extra good. Will definitely be back!

You might find shawarma as good (doubtful), but you will not find it any better than this place. Everyone I know agrees and if I'm town it's not uncommon to see myself or others there multiple times over a few days. Quality, quantity, price, service. It's just consistently great.

If you are not a shwarma person but are ready for a change.... If you want to travel back to Ottawa just to eat this .... If you want to be shocked by the portions and have leftovers... Folks do seem to love this place. Had the wrap; it was above average. Should have probably got the plate instead. Would eat there again, for sure; but not in my top shawarma memories.

A shawarma restaurant that seems to bring in a good crowd right when they are open, which tells a lot about them. Despite being probably the 20th person in line, you could tell they were really efficient with what they did as the line move fairly quickly. We ordered the chicken shawarma and they really packed it up to the brim as the amount of food in the container was about to pop open. For two people, I would say this was a good portion as we were full right after. The shawarma itself was good but I also got a falafel to try and found it slightly too dry for me. I am glad I got to try this as I found lots of good ratings of this location.

I visited this place when I was in Ottawa for job interview. I was hungry and didn't care much about where I eat. I went here for a quick byte and found my takeout was stale and very dry. I also understand that in the pandemic it can happen so I can give this place benefit of the doubt, 3-star because I couldn't eat the food and had to go to a timhortons :( Staff was good and prompt though. I am due to visit Ottawa again for work and i'm thinking about trying this palce again. I will bring the dryness up with the folks this time (last time I drove away and didn't want to go back to a long lineup due to Covid). I read all the good reviews so I hope my experience was a one-off case.

Back in Ottawa. Somebody told us that SP is the best Mediterranean Restaurant period. We were near UofO and thought of stopping over for a late lunch. The place was a bit crowded as it near 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. A bit of a line up but it moved quickly. Most of tables were still dirty/left unclean so had to wait for a couple of minutes. Ordered two Falafel Sandwiches, a veggie platter, a small potatoes and a small Baba Ghanoush for four of us. The falafel sandwiches were good. The falafel itself are huge and so the sauce and pita together made it a little dry. Ask for extra sauce for a better experience in my opinion. The veggie platter is huge and delicious. The broccoli and cauliflower were the best. A salad, vine leaf, falafel, potatoes, hummus and some more condiments come with it. Absolutely amazing. The falafel has a mint taste to it which was a nice touch. The potatoes and garlic sauce served are most amazing I have ever tasted. The sauce a bit too garlicky even for a garlic lover I think. The baba Ghanoush was plain is served with two pitas. All the food had a bit too much salt as well. I think they need to tone down it a bit. Otherwise it met our expectations. Visited again on 2016- 03-25 same delicious food. Garlic Potatoes are out of this world.

These people are ridiculous, sent us home with our meals without cutlery to eat our food. Check out the hair elastic in the potatoes, compliments of the servers behind the counter. Yum.

Listen, I'm from Toronto and we have almost everything you can think of. From Poké to the pizza and from Italian to fusion-style food. We have shawarma and lots of it but...there is no shawarma palace... What I'm saying is, we have shawarma but Ottawa reigns supreme in Lebanese food. I am truly ashamed Toronto does not have it and will gladly drive to Ottawa just to get myself 2 plates, no salad (and get made fun of) and extra potatoes. And trust me, don't skip on the potatoes with the sauce. If you're in Ottawa, PLEASE support Shawarma Palace during these tough times and make yourself regret not coming here earlier. Edit: 2 hours after I wrote this review I went to get myself a sandwich and potatoes

Ottawa is not only the capital of Canada , but probably the capital of shawarma! There are so many great shawarma spots in the city but none more famous or better then Shawarma Palace. . Thinly hand cuts slabs of meat, stacked and slow roasted on a rotating spit is oh so good! The main shawarma stick weighs up to 250 lbs but is so amazingly tender and flavourful and accompanying condiments sooooo good and fresh! Everything we had from the shawarma, kabobs, falafels and fish was fantastic. Portions are massive so I suggest you order one platter per person to start or you'll be packing them home. Full 5/5 for an amazing Middle Eastern gem!

This was our first stop after a long drive from Vermont to Ottowa. We wanted a quick lunch that would not weigh us down for the day. My mother and son had chicken shawarma sandwiches, my daughter had a falafel sandwich, and I had a beef shawarma sandwich. The place does not look fancy. The bathroom, to quote my daughter, "was like something out of a horror movie." But the food? Absolutely delightful! The friendly guy at the counter was happy to customize our sandwiches according to our desires, and we all enjoyed our food mightily. A fun treat to end the meal? We split a couple of pieces of baklava between us. Just lovely. So - though the atmosphere might leave something to be desired, the food was worth the visit!

Shawarma with chicken was delicacies. We paid 19.80 CAD (with tax) for 2 same shawarmas. Fully recommended!

Shawarma palace is the most popular shawarma place in Ottawa and it's not hard to see why. The quality and the quantity of this place is absurd. You do pay a tad more than an average place in the GTA, but the quality here is really special and you can share one plate! Finishing it is another story, but the two of us came in famished and left in a food coma. We went with the mixed chicken and beef plate, and couldn't believe how high the plate was at the end. The guy behind the counter skillfully carved and slices the meat off the rotisserie, the speed he also put things on the plate was almost like a show. Every single component of the plate was done well. The meat was tender, the potatoes were crisp and garlicky. There was plenty of both delicious hummus and garlic sauce. The rice was done perfectly and the salad was crisp. We same them make and top off the counters multiple times. To top it off, there's some good pickled vegetables. It's a very comprehensive plate and they don't cut corners here.

Good food. Good price. Fast service. Always. Short wait time. Ambiance not enchanting but acceptable for a shawarma place.

I did not expect this place to be this good. Our group of three ordered a plate of mixed shawarma. Was in awe of the size of the plate; absolute unit. It fed us all. Also really enjoyed the juicy chicken. Really good bang for your buck overall. I appreciate the staff here; they are very friendly, efficient, and listen to any customer requests. The environment is nothing spectacular, but at least it is kept clean. My friends love this place, so I'll probably be coming here again.

Went to Ottawa for a weekend and really wanted to try some good shawarma spot. Local friend recommend this location and it was really delicious! Ordered 2 chicken shawarma plates, the portion is huge, good amount of chicken and salad. Good for 2 people to eat! The place is big, lots of seating area, crowded and there was a line up to order but the service is quick and the staff is supeer friendly!

Out of all the places I visited during my trip to Ottawa, this shawarma joint is a must when you're there! I was looking for places around the area that had really good reviews and something different. Of course, with the help of Yelp, I came across this shawarma joint. SO happy I decided to come here! My boyfriend and I ordered the Mixed Shawarma Plate, which included rice (you are able to choose either white or brown), salad, chicken, beef, potatoes and plenty of sauces on top. The portion was HUGE! We shared one and still couldn't finish it, and we walked into this place starving. The staff here were really nice as well. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone!

I have eaten here about 20 times, I usually leave pretty happy. Portions and quality are good, though I've noticed in the past couple years the postion sizes have gotten much smaller. That being said I would still recommend it.

Cant believe I forgot to review this place. I was just thinking about it, even though it's been months since I ate here. It was some of the best shawarma I've ever had in my life. If I ever get to come back to Ottawa, this will be the first place I visit. My husband and I shared a shawarma plate and it was HUGE! For the price (around $17) it was a great deal!

Anytime when I make the trip out to Ottawa this is the place I always come to grab good meal. Shawarma palace is awesome. The portions of the food they give you is ginormous! Shawarma is typically the same I find in most places on how they serve it, maybe some places give different ingredients and some places have better meat but overall the appearance is pretty similar. This place I find there chicken quite tasty. The second time I had come the chicken was a little bit dryer than I had experienced my first time around (probably because I had gone later at night my second go). I tried a chicken shawarma plate and a mixed plate on both visits. I personally like the chicken more as it has more flavor and less dry compared to the beef. A single plate is almost impossible for just 1 person to eat cleanly by themselves. The plates are best split between 2 people as it's a good portion for splitting. For just 1 person you'll be going into a food coma half way (unless you have a high metabolism and can eat alot then your crazy lol) Very starchy and high carb meal so if your super hungry and looking for a good bang for your buck come to this place. Aside from the food, the place outside looks pretty grungy and old and inside is kinda dirty as well but they do have staff cleaning and wiping tables afterwards. There can get a long line while ordering at random times, so when you get here you may need to line up. But usually the dirty places seem to have the better food ;)

Of all the shawarma joints we've tries we keep coming back here. Great garlic sauce, perfectly cooked shawarma, Arabic music and an amazing assembly line to move food out fast make this a go to place when we have visitors. My fave is the chicken shawarma platter. Would I return? Yes Would I recommend? Yes

I had a regular ol' chicken shawarma sandwich and it was quite tasty, the meat used was good quality as well. The bread was a bit on the smaller side, but that was on me since I added all the toppings they had (perhaps a fork would have helped). Overall, pretty solid place and food!

Wow, huge portion for the chicken shawarma plate. Three of us shared it. We ordered 6 pieces of falafel to share as well. The falafel is very different than I'm used to with a profound taste of spices, crumbly, and maybe lentils in it. It was nice to try a different version. The employees were friendly and answered all of our questions. The chicken had a delicious flavor

Ottawa is the shawarma capital of not only Canada but of the world (so interesting, didn't learn this until over 4 years of living here). But I have to believe it's partially because of Shawarma Palace that Ottawa has earned this title! We frequently go in person or order their food on Uber Eats and it never disappoints! We've tried the chicken scawarma and chicken shawarma platter - the ingredients are incredibly fresh and food is very tasty. Staff are also very friendly and the service is fast! A must try whether you are an Ottawa local or just in town for the day/weekend.

This place was recommended to us for lunch and I would absolutely second this recommendation for those who like us are looking for a great place to dine in their visit of Ottawa! Both chicken and beef shawarmas were great, coming in generous portions with a good variety of sauces and sides. I replace my salad with tabule for a dollar which was so worth it. The hummus was just devine, one of the bests I had in my life! I'd like chicken shawarma more than beef as it was so tender and lighter, but beef was also well-cooked and adequately dressed. The service was kind and accommodating. Overall, it was a great experience in many ways, and I would come back in my next visit of Ottawa. One last thing is before you order, keep in mind that one shawarma plate is so big that can easily make two average eaters full!

Me and my family were staying in Ottawa for a day and when I looked on Yelp for where to eat dinner, this place came up as a top result. My family loves shawarmas and the portion sizes were supposed to be huge so we thought we would get a bunch of plates to share. When we got there it was very very busy! The line went to the end of the store, it was loud, but despite all that the staff was quick and friendly. We ordered a beef shawarma plate, a 1/2 chicken BBQ plate, a rainbow trout plate and a side of 10 chipotle chicken wings (no fries) with four drinks. All the plates were about $15 with the chicken wings being about $10. The total came up to about $75 which we considered pretty good for 5 people to eat together. We were told the rainbow trout, BBQ chicken and chicken wings were going to take 15 minutes while the beef shawarma plate would be made right away. We thought that was reasonable and sat down with our beef shawarma plate which was honestly the best out of the three plates we got! I highly recommend it especially as I don't usually like beef. Everyone in my family loved it! Even though they told us 15 minutes, the rest of our order came within 5-10 minutes. We were amazed with the service despite lines that never ended. Both times when we came in and when we left there were long lines, but orders were dealt with very quickly. The rainbow trout was quite tasty albeit a bit small in my opinion. The BBQ chicken was unfortunately dry and not as BBQ as we thought it would be. It tasted more like it was roasted. The chicken wings were great as well! The skin was very crispy and flavourful. My family continues to rave about this place long after we left. I highly recommend it if you want shawarma in Ottawa although I would say to come when you have some extra time because you don't know how long the lines are going to be.

Huge disappointment. I'm from Vancouver where the chicken shawarma (if you can find it) is amazing. I assumed that the highest rated shawarma joint in Ottawa would destroy the best shawarma in Vancouver. How wrong I was! Biggest problem: they use chicken breast. Why they would use 100% breast over thighs boggles my mind. It's more expensive, has less flavour, less fat, and dries out. Other problems:. Not enough seasoning on the meat, not browned enough before cutting it, and they don't put any sauce in the meat by default (you have to ask, and I didn't realize until I had the first couple bites, I then added Tahini, hot sauce, and garlic sauce to help with the dryness factor). Even with sauces on it, the dryness of the breast was hard to overcome. The potatoes are amazing, the hummus was awesome and there was a generous portion of it.

If you are looking for the best Shawarma in Ottawa, look no further. Portions here are YUGE! It can easily feed two people. The chicken is well seasoned and juicy. Potatoes are perfectly golden, and nicely spiced. They are not greasy, are a perfect match for their garlic sauce. Salad is fresh, and they stack it with pickles and turnips. The dressing that comes with it really compliments it well. It has a nice hint of sumac. The hummus is very creamy and perfect for the pita bread that comes with the plate. When I eat their chicken shawarma plate, I feel like all the different components of the plate come together so well. Down it with a coke, and get the whole experience. The chicken shawarma sandwich is equally as good. All locations have been very consistent.

Best in Ottawa. Outstanding shawarma. Highly recommend. I'll probably eat more tomorrow.
