Update: I have been back here several times now and love the food. There was a minor glitch in my order but I should have double checked and they fixed it quickly. Humans make errors. That being said, I ordered the chicken shawarma combo along with a (NEW to me) fattoush salad. The salad was chunky and delicious! My new favorite item. Personally, I prefer it over the tabbouleh but both are delicious! Now here’s the original review: New Middle Eastern restaurant that opened up, and I had to try it. I lived in Detroit where there are great Middle Eastern restaurants so I was ready! I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich combo which came with fries. I also ordered a medium fattoush salad. I'll start with the fries. Obviously not a traditional dish, but I must say they are great! They were seasoned crinkly fries freshly made. I nearly burned my mouth, they were deliciously fresh. Next, the fattoush salad- fresh, and a nice portion. I had the medium. It was easily a good side dish for 2 people. Lastly, the chicken shawarma sandwich - freshly grilled and toasted to perfection. Plenty of chicken and traditional vegetables loaded inside the toasted crisp pita. And flavors? Definitely! Tasty food and definitely comfort food on this cold day. I'll be coming back probably once a week. I would say it's best as a takeout place, but they do have basic tables and chairs set up if you choose to dine in. If you're concerned about safety, the two men running the restaurant don't look like they would be the kind you want to mess with. However, they were very friendly and the kitchen was very clean and the guys used food safety procedures when handling the food. I'm definitely coming back for great takeout!

Love this new place and will keep coming back. Super tasty chicken shawarma with optional garlic yogurt sauce and spicy pepper sauce. The seasoned crinkle fries are crisp and tasty. Great portions so it's a really good value for the price too. Advice: Fries stay crisper when you dine in. Call to confirm they are open as their hours seem to vary a bit.

Ordered a mixed shawarma combo to go with about 10 minutes of travel time until I got to eat. This shawarma is massive, very large portion and I ate half for dinner and finished the next day. Also, it is not beef, but lamb which was reiterated by the cashier. Flavorful but not too gamey. The cook also asked if I wanted it spicy, which meant adding red chili sauce. He wasn't heavy handed so I felt it wasn't spicy enough for me. Good to have another solid option for shawarma in the city

Ordered multiple items on the first go round to give a proper assessment, was not disappointed. While it wasn’t mind blowing, everything was tasty, and they do not skimp on the portions. Chicken shawarma was great, good fries and potatoes, decent falafel and fatoush, hummus a little loose for my liking. Glad to have a place like this in the neighborhood, hope it sticks around longer than the last two places that inhabited this location.

I seriously wonder if this is a money laundering operation! Don't take that too seriously. I went on a Wednesday night and there were 3 guys hanging out behind the counter when I came in, not doing anything. They put the food together pretty quickly. I ordered a wrap with a side of fries. They put the fries in the wrap. While this is extremely strange, I chalked it up to language/accent issues. But the wrap just wasn't very good. There are a lot of other places in the area that might be better. Sorry, Shawarma Time.

The place may lack in atmosphere but the two folks behind the counter were so nice on my first visit. The homemade Yemen style hot sauce was awesome. The hummus is so good. Everything tastes like your at a home kitchen really love it. The combos are really a great deal. I will probably be coming here more often just to buy the hummus to keep in our the fridge. I really hope this place makes a nice home here. Please walk here if you're from the neighborhood. Let's keep this place around!

The food is absolutely delicious. The service is quick and the staff is very nice. I love the generous portions and the quality of food which makes me want to come back EVERY SINGLE TIME. They are a new restaurant and great location on High St. the ambiance is pleasant and basic as they are barely starting out. The food had all the flavors it needed for a tasty shawarma plate. It's a must try!

THIS PLACE IS NO LONGER IN BUSINESS!! I had to mark 1 star to be able to post the review but it's a ZERO! the sign is still up outside, and I was able to place an order on Grubhub thru Yelp, but when I went to get my food, THERE WAS A WHOLE DIFFERENT RESTAURANT THERE! The phone number is disconnected so I had to call Grubhub for a refund. This place needs to be removed from here.

Stopped in to order take out after passing this place daily. The place is no frills but clean. I ordered the Shawarma time salad. The menu doesn't have a description of the salad but it's cucumber, tomato, radish, onion and cabbage with lots of sumac, then covered in chicken and beef shawarma. It was great. I was starving so I got the large salad. They didn't skimp on the protein. It's great to have a healthy lunch option in the area. I'll be back to try the plates and wraps!

First time ordering from STM&S. I got the Beef Shawarma Plate and it was delicious! The beef was very flavorful and tender, and the hummus was tangy and smooth. I opted for the potatoes instead of the rice option for the plate, which were also tasty, cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Next time I will try it with rice. They also have a bunch of drink options, which is great. The chef was friendly and attentive when I picked up my order. Please support this restaurant, it's definitely recommended.

I badly wanted it to be good. I lived just down the street from this location for the last 8 years and this spot has hosted 5 different restaurants in that time. Sadly, the bar has not been raised. They nail the meats, juicy and tender, and then pair them with the cheapest possible other ingredients, some of which do not belong in shawarma, like deeply flavorless pickles. There's almost no juiciness--it's just dry with none of the tahini or tzatziki other shawarma places use. And to make matters worse I think it was wrapped in a burrito shell. They use a lot of canned ingredients like the dolmas which are not fresh and covered in greasy canned garlic sauce. The tabouli is more or less inedible, and I say this as a person who loves tabouli. The couple is very nice, I just hope they think about putting some quality ingredients into their $15-25/head offering. It's pure profit for them, except that I won't be going back. May someone someday move into this space and do more than simply spray paint the interior another unappetizing shade of beige and plop down some extremely shabby used tables and open the door. It's a great neighborhood that is obviously longing for something good here and wants the owners to succeed, but we need the restauranteur to put the bare minimum effort into the food.

The food was good very flavorful , good price....shady area, parking is limited but service is fast.

Got the beef shawarma plate with potatoes. Very good serving and super tasty. Hummus was okay and salad was fine, did provide some good crunch. Partner got the chicken shawarma wrap combo- wrap was delicious. Fries were fine- they looked like frozen fries, but the seasoning on them was good. Friendly service, fast and well priced! Took the food to go, but inside was clean and had a good amount of table. Will def go back!

I picked up an order for dinner tonight. The service was friendly and fast. They have a good size space and it's simple but welcoming. The food is reasonably priced and VERY generously portioned. On top of this, it was delicious. My partner loved his falafel plate and I really enjoyed my special time plate (chicken, lamb, falafel, dolma, and hummus included). I will be back. Please support this business! We don't have many middle eastern options in the neighborhood and this one is a gem.

I keep coming back. Great food. It's a great to-go spot for Mediterranean food. I got the chicken shawarma combo(fries and a drink) plus the fattoush salad. There was a slip in the order but they corrected it quickly. But it should be standard practice to check to make sure the order is correct. Back to the food. The fattoush salad is chunky and tasty! Wow! I'll definitely be ordering that again! The two men behind the counter are friendly enough and work up get the orders done quickly. I prefer eating at home, but the seating area is clean and functional, but not fancy. But the key word here is CLEAN. It's a new business; I recommend.

First time dining at Shawarma Time M&S and all I can say is.....maaaaaannnn! Chicken wrap combo w/ fries, bomb. Measuring in at nearly 3/4 my forearm (appendenge comparisons may very) served as a fulfilling, robust, densely packed snack. So much so in fact, I struggled to finish it. You can expect a consistent non-greasy, grill-slice poultry and veggie packed wrap, encapsulated by a toasty tortilla shell. Nothing more need be said. Well, aside from the fries. A tad bit on the over cooked side but still good. Crunchy and consistent. They'll work it out In time, I'm sure. Now for atmosphere. Aesthetic wise, their establishment is a bit abysmal, although, it's to be expected, they did just open after all. Well...at least at time of me penning this review. Moving onto a more positive note, their kitchen is an open one. Yep everything's prepared fresh right before your eyes. A supplement to their hospitality if you ask me. In fact, the cook was cool enough extend item availability times, as certain meats require more time/effort than others. Didn't have to that. Good on him though. In conclusion, if they're willing to engage the community, establish their mission as a public dining establishment(reason for feeding the public), and dress up the space with items that communicate who they are/ what they do, then hey. So, so, so good. Very happy to have such delicious foods in walking distance! Yummy spices! And the hummus is spectacular. Very fresh and tangy.

Surprisingly excellent falafel. Ordered 20 for a potluck and it was the hit of the party! Haven't tried anything else yet...

I drive by this spot all the time, and finally today I decided to get some lunch. I work nearby and I am not disappointed! Good portion size for sure. Got chicken today, tasty. I'll get the beef next time. Hope they make it here, this spot has been many things over the years, and nothing's really stuck, so c'mon and give it a go! YUM

It's so nice to have a Shawarma restaurant in the neighborhood. We ordered a variety of dishes to try. The kafta wrap was good, although a bit messy with the sauce. We had never had kafta and I must admit, it was our least favorite of our order. The best was the chicken shawarma plate filled with rice and chicken shawarma, salad and hummus, along with pita bread. In addition, we ordered a side of baba ganoush and extra hummus. The baba ganoush was some of the best we've had. It was smooth, no chunks of vegetables. The portion sizes are huge, definitely enough to share. We will be back and I hope they are successful in that location.

I went to this place to try it out. I have had shawarma combo plates elsewhere and the food was so delicious that when I saw this small little business I was set not only to try it. But support the small business as well. I order. The guy who took my order was friendly. I got no complaint there. There's another guy in the back. I don't think or looked much. Just waited for the food. I couldn't wait to try it and enjoy it. I get my food and walk out jumped in my drive and drove as quickly as I could. I get home quickly open up my order plate and dig in. I then feel the taste of dried particles of rice. Like if the rice was cooked and sat there for more than a good while mixed in with more rice that tasted old. It definitely was not fresh. I really couldn't eat it and so I tossed out 3/4 of the entire plate. Im not mad. I just wanted to share my experience with the quality and taste of the food I tried there.

Best shawarma in the bay. I moved to the neighborhood a week ago and have eaten here twice already. The chicken shawarma plate is delicious and the chicken shawarma wrap combo is a great deal. The service is always prompt and friendly. In fact, typing this review made me crave it again. I guess I know what I am getting for lunch today.

Don't sleep on shawarma time just because it's in the east! Got the chicken shawarma plate to go and WOW. So flavorful so tender. Got the plate to go and the server was kind and attentive.

Delicious shawarma plates and wraps. Fresh flavors. Fresh herbs growing in pots right next to the cash register. Super nice people.

Excellent hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel and lentil rice. We were especially impressed with the made to order falafel and the generous portion size. We ordered the falafel plate with a side of baba ghanoush. Very friendly staff and wonderful to see a new business in the neighborhood. The only let down was the pita, it was not homemade and very thin. We will be back.

As alluded to in other reviews, this is a tough spot geographically that's seen a few businesses come and go. I wish this place the absolute best. Stopped here finally after passing by so many times and so glad I did!! The food is fresh and delicious and the portions are enormous. The couple running it were so kind and thoughtful in their preparation of my to-go order. The shawarma my husband ordered was burrito-sized and delicious; I ordered the falafel plate which was also very good with freshly made falafels over rice with lentils and hummus and veg on the side and pita bread. All enough for 2 meals at a very reasonable price!! I will be back!!

Super delighted this place opened up here on High St. The chicken shawarma wrap is my favorite. This place is clean, reasonably priced and good portion size. Really tasty, fresh and delicious food. Also love their fries, crispy and not greasy or soggy. The restaurant is not fancy, but the food is absolutely scrumptious. The guys that work there are nice and friendly too. Can't wait to try the other items!

First time trying Shawarma overall, no Kizzy! That shit federal, heavy hitter , it's basically a wrap I got the chicken one that shit man had me in love , it's a Turkish wrap I heard originally but this shit hit ! On cookies y'all gotta try the joint !

I was waiting for a friend of mine and I noticed several people coming out of that restaurant so I thought they must be good so I took a chance and I'm so glad I did. The people were very friendly and the food was delicious. I got a chicken wrap combo I'm gonna try the beef next time I mean it was perfectly seasoned. I would recommend them to anyone.

The food here is authentic and sooo tasty! I tried the beef shawarma wrap which was huge. Didn't think I'd finish it but couldn't resist eating all of it. The staff is really nice and accommodating. Can't wait to go back and try other items from the menu.
