San Francisco Offers More COVID Support Going Into 2023 | Eater SF

"A second Shawarmaji location opened on November 28 at 2281 The Alameda in Santa Clara; its menu largely mirrors the original location with lamb expected to join the familiar lineup soon, and chef-owner Mohammad Abutaha started the first restaurant because he felt no one in the Bay did shawarma quite right." - Paolo Bicchieri

First time here today and loved it. We tried the chicken wrap, lamb/beef shwarma fries, and side of pickles. Everything was excellent - great quality ingredients, super flavorful, friendly service. Portions are huge, and each of our items could've been shared between two people easily. Currently heating up our leftovers for dinner so definitely not mad at it. Super glad to have found this place and looking forward to coming back.

I got this delivered through Foodie Earth for dinner and it hit the spot! I got the chicken wrap arabi style with fries (those were forgotten with my order), lamb beef wrap, and 3 falafels. From what l've seen on the reviews, the chicken wrap is everyone's favorite, but for me the lamb wrap was my favorite!! Loved the meat and there was a good amount of it. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and Foodie Earth made it so easy so I didn't have to leave my apartment and deal with the parking, l've driven past this place and parking seems to be limited.

I ordered the beef & lamb shawarma plate with French fries, but it arrived dry and cold. The serving style with chopped vegetables placed on top felt out of place and did not fit the overall concept. Even the side salad was disappointing: just a few leaves with cherry tomatoes some chopped pickled vegetables, but no character... The atmosphere was also unwelcoming. The design felt cold, the temperature inside was uncomfortably freezing, and the constant drafts made the food turn cold within minutes. Service was not particularly friendly either. On top of that, everything was served in plastic packaging and with a cheap plastic fork, which made it difficult to eat and felt very wasteful and not environmentally friendly. I had really hoped to enjoy authentic Palestinian food here, but sadly, it did not meet my expectations. Pity.

Shawarmaji in Santa Clara is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic and incredibly delicious shawarma! Seriously, this isn't just good shawarma; it's the best shawarma I've had in a long time. The meat is perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the flavors are just out of this world. Every bite is a delightful experience. Beyond the fantastic food, I absolutely adore the atmosphere, especially the pictures on the wall of North Africa and Algeria. They add such a wonderful, authentic touch and really enhance the dining experience, making you feel like you've been transported. While the food and ambiance are top-notch, I do have to mention that the service can be a bit inconsistent. It's not terrible, but there's definitely room for improvement in terms of attentiveness and overall customer interaction. However, the quality of the shawarma more than makes up for this minor hiccup. If you're in Santa Clara and looking for an unforgettable shawarma experience, Shawarmaji is a must-visit. Just be prepared to focus on the amazing food and the beautiful decor!

One of the best shawarma I ever had in 3 years. Tried almost all of them but this ones the G and I thank my friend who told me bout this place. Loved it. It’s not only my Goto place now but a Togo as well.

Fries were pretty good; falafels were super cheap and really good, recommend those

First time to try Shawarmaji and the food was good and tasty. We got chicken shawarma plate which comes with a side such as fries or salad. I chicken was good and the garlic sauce was great. They have some good drinks as well such as vimto and at the end they give some menthol candies to remove the garlic taste. Recommended place to visit and five stars.

Stopped by this place when I saw it on Yelp in nearby places: I was really really hungry and all the photos of the menu items looked appetizing. I am really glad I chose this restaurant for lunch! First of all, the prices are very good. Secondly, the meat used is amazing, so tender and tasty (tried chicken and beef & lamb). Thirdly, the quality of the food is high. The atmosphere was nice, very polite staff, and there were plenty of tables. I have already recommended this restaurant to all my friends. The parking situation is a bit tough but that is almost the norm in the Bay. Kudos to the cooks! I will definitely be returning again.
