New Eastern Market Restaurant, Bar, and Food Developments to Watch in 2022 | Eater Detroit

"A major facilities initiative will repurpose 100,000–150,000 square feet north of the existing sheds to house relocated wholesale operations, allowing mandatory upgrades on older buildings to meet modern food-processing and distribution standards. The project is positioned to create updated space for processors and distributors in compliance with contemporary food-safety requirements and to support the broader Food Innovation Zone buildout." - Courtney Burk

The gallerists Gabbrielle and Jon are incredibly welcoming, informed, and hold years of curatorial experience. The historic space is unforgettable and the work of each show is wildly unique, compelling, and thoughtful. A tour de force of the Cleveland visual arts scene that dares to be different!

Grateful to have Shed Projects in Cleveland. They provide support for artists to put on meaningful exhibitions in an unconventional space. Run by extremely passionate and dedicated humans. I recommend engaging with all their programming.

It's always great to see a new art-focused space open up in Cleveland, especially one like SHED, dedicated to providing comprehensive creative programming around the visual arts (and hopefully sound art/performance art/music as well). So far the range of works I have seen at SHED are all of a very high quality (I have been exposed to both local and national artists that I had not seen before in Cleveland which has been great). As an artist myself, I love seeing dedicated individuals breaking the mold of the current gallery scene here in Cleveland, treating their space as a creative project in itself as well as a place to collaborate with and show artists work. Do yourself a favor and stop by one of their openings or during gallery hours. I am truly excited to see how far they will go...

Cool historic building on it's way to preservation. Nice, well thought out shows. Run by nice people with experience and national connections. On its way to becoming a great Cleveland art destination.

Having followed SHED since its inception in New Orleans I was ecstatic to learn they would be coming to the Cleveland area. I asked the owners why this location, having been a community member of the Clark-Fulton area since before it was developed, and they explained that the house was particularly chosen as a nod to their blended Latin and German heritage and to be taken on as a longterm historical preservation project. The owners (Gabi and Jon) are friendly, accessible and happy to discuss their current projects and longterm vision. It’s exciting to see them give back to the community, and contribute to Cleveland’s art scene in such an influential way. Hopefully this won’t be a hidden gem for long!

Charming gallery in a historic Cleveland home. Visited for Conrad Bakker’s opening of Untitled Project: Robert Smithson’s Library, and it was fantastic. I loved seeing his works laid out in such a unique space. The owners were welcoming and easy to talk to which is refreshing. Speaking of refreshing, they even offered us horchatas :) Looking forward to future shows!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting SHED, a new addition to the Cleveland art scene. It is a remarkable and truly unique art gallery that left an indelible impression. This gallery is not just a space for art, but a work of art in itself. It's a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the transformative power of art.

So grateful to have SHED Projects in Cleveland - Gabi and Jon curate shows and programming that reflects both their devoted relationships with the artists they work with, and their care for the context of the space they operate within
