Where to Eat and Drink on Campus at Portland State University | Eater Portland

"A beloved Arab food cart often found around campus and run by a PSU business student, Sheesh Shwarma is truly excellent — I recommend the beef shawarma sandwich drizzled with its iconic, tahini-esque Sheesh Sauce; you can find it on the south end of campus at 979 SW Harrison." - Alayna Becker

Easily the best chicken shawarma I've had in the PNW. I've never been able to properly scratch the itch up in Seattle, as spots like Sultans are mediocre vs what's easily found in LA or NY. This small truck tucked in PSU's campus is the only place I've been that's on par, and does so at a reasonable price. High quality ingredients through and through, with an excellent sauce, juicy chicken and a good portion size. Plus you can cap you're night with a great cup of shahi haleeb (milk tea). Cannot recommend this place enough, and have told anyone I know in WA that this is a must stop if they're in the area.

This shawarma food truck is a hidden gem. The food is flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and the staff provides warm, attentive service. It’s also an excellent option if you’re craving something tasty late at night

This is my new favorite shawarma spot! Staff is so friendly and always welcome us back! The food is so tasty! The shawarma alone is big enough to fill me up! My son loves the sheesh fries with garlic sauce! But what i love most about this place is that they don’t carry any of the BDS drinks! Ethical and delicious! Highly recommend!

On point fresh food - the falafel is out of this world and actually FRESH made with aromatic spices and a crunchy shell, and fresh by far is so much tastier. Cajun fries are delicious and the chicken shawarma? *chefs kiss* 🤌 Guys who run this cart are super down to earth and nice to talk to also. I mean, Sheesh! If you haven't tried Sheesh yet, what are you waiting for?!

We had a humble gathering for my partner's birthday and asked for catering for the event. We love the food cart at PSU and enjoy the walk to eat or pick up there. We asked for enough food for about 15 people, beef & chicken, rice, hummus, falafels, and loads of their sauces of which we can never get enough of. All the food was obviously made with love and care. The falafels were handed to us immediately after cooking because who doesn't love a fresh, warm falafel! The rice was made by Faisal's father and is without a doubt the best rice we've ever had. Everything was made from the heart and we were even given so much food we were lucky enough to share more for the following day. Some of our guests have never experienced Jordanian food and it blew their minds at how tasty everything was. Now they know and they know where to go. Sheesh loves to make food for people, they enjoy the happiness that they bring to everyone with their fresh and layered flavors of cuisine. Our party was fantastic as a result; everyone wanted seconds and take home plates. It went well beyond our dreams and made for a very memorable event.

Wow, top tier food. The chicken shawarma and falafel plates were so good. Rice is super flavorful and pairs with the food perfectly. Fries were delicious and crisp. The garlic sauce was so tasty! The chicken and falafel were so good. Already thinking about when I can come back. This place nails the trinity. Delicious food, great portions and great prices! The people running the truck were super cool and friendly too!

Amazing food every single time I go to their food truck. Sheesh Shawarma staff is always super friendly, gives great recommendations of what to type & even gives samples of their Falafel. The Falafel is moist & not dry. It will make you crave more. The seasoning on the fries is perfect & fresh each time. I especially love it when they on site at my work. I always try to make sure to get something during my lunch.

We came at 10:45pm, the person who took our order was very nice, asked us if it was our first time (it was) and explained anything we asked about. Said the chicken plate is a good first time choice because it has the sauce they are known for. They were incredibly friendly to everyone they interacted with. The sauce on the chicken plate was really good, with a mild- medium spice. It tasted amazing and the fries had a really satisfying crunch but were soft and moist on the inside. The Arabic soda in the glass bottle is really nice! I wanted to try both but they had sold out of the one in the can. I will absolutely come here again when im in this part of town.
