After we ordered the hummus appetizer our waitress brought us some complimentary lentil soup. The soup was delicious. The soup has some heat plus great flavors. The hummus was pretty typical. I ordered the ground lamb kebab. The lamb was a little overcooked. We had to find our waitress to place our order.

Sheesh is more than just a restaurant—it’s a soulful escape. The moment you sit down in their peaceful garden patio, surrounded by blooming flowers and soft afternoon light, you know you’re somewhere special. The food is incredible—every bite of the kebab platter was packed with flavor. Juicy meats grilled to perfection, fluffy saffron rice, and that golden crispy roll? Absolutely addictive. The small details shine—like the sprinkle of sumac, the creamy garlic sauce, and the refreshing citrus notes that tie it all together. After the meal, I enjoyed rich, bold Turkish coffee served in beautifully ornate copperware—such a thoughtful, authentic touch. I paired it with a smooth hookah session that let me unwind and reflect. This isn’t just dinner—it’s an experience for all your senses. Whether you’re catching up with friends or finding peace alone, Sheesh delivers comfort, culture, and connection in one perfect setting. Highly, highly recommend.

I love their vermicelli dessert and complementary lentil soup. All other vegetarian food I tried was delicious. Service was very good and I love the decor and atmosphere.

We got there right before closing. I told the server I love eggplant. I let her decide. My dish had eggplant and meat. If I would've had more time to contemplate l would have chosen non meat. Personal preference. Everything was delicious. The ambiance is right on. It was my first time visiting. I would love to go back. It was a sensory experience. Sheesh! Highly recommend.

The food here was incredible! Authentic Turkish dishes and incredible hummus. The manager or owner greeted us as soon as we walked in, and you could instantly feel his kind Turkish hospitality. The decor and atmosphere of this place is just beautiful with pieces from all over Turkey! The service, however, was very poor. Our server did not seem to care about her tables. At one point, both servers were sitting down at another table eating food, which felt incredibly unprofessional. Additionally, she gave the other table our dish and then when she realized she’d mixed them up, didn’t apologize or say anything about it until we asked where our food was. Another table she was serving had to ask her how they should order food because she took so long to greet them. Honestly it really made this experience disappointing because I’ve experienced Turkish culture and hospitality growing up there, and this was just not it. I have four stars because I want to support the manager/owner (who was very very kind) but I hope they are able to get servers who at the very least, can pretend to care about their job.

Overall it was a nice experience. The food was delicious, especially the baba ganoush and the kunefa with ice cream. We received lentil soup in the beginning. The interior is different from what I saw initially in the reviews, but maybe there's an another area like that with Turkish pillows and things.

Nice atmosphere and decor, definitely somewhere I would come to hang out with friends if I was younger and child free. Food was good, with a few standouts. The Meze appetizer and chicken kebab both knocked it out of the park in my book. Everything else was good, but those stood out as exceptional. Price was mostly reasonable, you could eat there for around 20 bucks a person pretty reasonably. Staff were nice, I didn't have any issues.

They're changing the ownership and I honestly think it's not a smart move at all. We LOVED the old decoration and food, and service. They cut off labor now. There used to be 4, 5 waitresses and now it's down to only 1 for the whole restaurant. The chef had to come out and serve too. Quality of food is still the same. Really really good!! But the portion is much more smaller. When they brought out my used-to-be-favorite dish, lamb special, I was like: "What?? That's it??" The $20 lamb dish used to be 5 times bigger than what they serve now. Restaurant business is tough, I totally understand. But I probably won't come back if they don't switch back to the old owner :( All the fancy decorations were gone, too. The chairs and tables now are just simple basic ones, not the ones with cushion and fancy looking anymore (see pictures). Too bad... Our family love Turkish cuisine and this used to be our favorite restaurant in St Louis...
