Shekoh Confections

My long-awaited review. Any place taking the macaron place I love must be good. The window has Louis Vuitton chocolate purse sculpture and other chocolate sculptures of shoes which you can also find inside. All of the chocolate and jelly was good. I would come here again for a custom sculpture, they are pricey, but definitely to precision and highly quality I haven't seen anywhere else in the Bay Area.

I was making good time on my way to SFO from San Jose so I decided to make another stop for chocolate. I was frantically searching for a chocolatier off the 101 and saw Shekoh on Yelp in Palo Alto. I was worried that I would get some sticker shock but figured what the hell and made the turn off. I found parking around the corner and walked into a minimalist space where the truffles were the star of the show. It was so calm and serene and Chef Shekoh came from the back to help me make my choices. I really felt like the space was a reflection of her, calm with a lot of care taken to how things were presented. I decided to go with their 9 piece box instead of the 5 piece-it wasn't too much of a price difference. Of all the chocolates I came away with on this trip the ones here were like works of art. Beautifully coated, dark chocolate that paired so well with the flavors she put together.

Friendly staff and great gifts! I did not know they even had dark Chocolate shoes!!! Delicious chocolate! Other places open at noon but live that they open in the morning!

3-3.5 stars for my first visit to Shekoh Confections. The truffles were beautiful, and you can tell they are high quality with the shiny exterior of the truffles. It wasn't busy at 5:45pm on a Thursday, and it was difficult to choose from all of their flavors. I ended up trying: -Milk n Cookies (Valrhona Milk Chocolate, Crunchy Biscuits, Spices), Pistachio (Housemade Pistachio Paste, 46% Jivara Chocolate from Valrhona, Pistachio Nibs, Peanut Butter (Peanut Butter Praline, Crunchy Crepes Shelled in Valrhona Dark Chocolate, Le Noir (Valrhona Manjari 64% Dark Chocolate), Passion Fruit (Passion Fruit Puree, White Chocolate, Shelled in Valrhona Dark Chocolate, 5/$22.25, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Oe0QuTPXTeo47nYJYrL52g&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): The passion fruit and peanut butter were my favorite flavors, and the ones that I could taste the most. With the other truffles, the chocolate flavor was more prominent than the other ingredients. Although the chocolate was very smooth and high quality, I thought the truffle shell was a little too thick, in comparison to other truffles I've had from boutique chocolate shops. The owner was really nice and helpful, and I would return to support a local business; however, the prices were on the higher side at $4.45/truffle. Other truffles I'd love to try are: hazelnut cream, burnt caramel, yuzu, and s'mores. They did not have indoor or outdoor seating options. Parking was easy to find at the time in the lot, and some street parking spots are available.

We have been passing by this new addition to the neighborhood. It was about a mile from our place. We were happy to see the large bags of Valrhona chocolates on the shelves as this is a popular brand in France. We got 9 piece box of chocolates. Thé box is very exquisite. Magnetic closing gift box comes with the 9 piece order. It was about $46 I believe. Not 100%. We also got the dark chocolate barks with hazelnuts plus some caramel chews. It was great stopping by when it was not busy as Shekoh is eager to tell you the story for the different items in her shop. It was a hot day when he came so the chocolates we tried just melted off your mouth. You can see the craftsmanship on each chocolates pieces. This rivals Alexanders near by and my local favorite, Timothy Adams Chocolates (TAC). I haven't been at TAC because a friend of mine worked there and the owners were not very nice she said. We are yet to enjoy our box of nine which we will do this weekend. We had enjoyed the dark chocolate barks with hazelnuts. Those are made with not much sugar which we like. I will come back and update more later...

My friend and I stumbled upon Shekoh Confections purely by chance, while we were strolling the streets of Palo Alto during a business trip from Florida. We found the shop to be inviting and staff very friendly and informative. The delicacies were superb - we tasted a couple and decided to purchase three boxes - mine were meant to be gifts for family members. Unfortunately, a day after the purchase I had an accident and ended up in a LA hospital - and gave the chocolates away to my incredible nurses who took such good care of me. The nurses raved about the treats and I shared the shop's information with them. I look forward to ordering the chocolates (and the beautiful chocolate shoes) online - and hope that they can be delivered to Florida.

The chocolate is good! I recommend solid chocolate items. It's also all designed and made by a wonderfully talented woman.

Passed by this place and I couldn't help but go inside, the chocolates look like radiant gems! The woman working behind the counter was so nice and friendly, she gave us some samples and I was immediately impressed. I got a box of 5 chocolates and found it so hard to eat them because they're so pretty! They were delectable. The passion fruit was my favorite by far. They were all so good and unique!

After reading a recent article in a magazine, I was so excited to try this shop on my drive home! Chef Shekoh was there behind the counter, smiling and eager to introduce me to the stories and flavors behind the chocolates in her shop. The Persian Rose is exquisite - it's very hard to do floral flavors without being overwhelming, and the chef hit it spot on. The noir chocolate was also fantastic; the center was extremely smooth with deep chocolate flavor sans excessive bitterness. Of course, the best part is the shine and color of the chocolates, which look like jewels. If you are looking for a luxury gift for someone or for you, just stop on in!

I write this review with little experience of high-class chocolate. I came to Shekoh's Confections after reading about the story of how it came to be. I got 5 pieces of chocolate for about $20, for sure not cheap. The saffron and honey lavender were uniquely flavored. It wasn't my cup of tea but it was clearly made with a lot of skill I also got the Irish cream, peanut butter, and Persian rose as well which were really interesting and I really enjoyed! They had a nice creamy texture with a touch of sweetness, especially the Irish cream and Persian rose. This place isn't the place to go to enjoy a lot of chocolate. But if you are looking for high-quality chocolate or a special gift to someone special, I recommend taking a look! In addition, the owner was very nice and did a great job of answering the many questions I had!

Very likely the best chocolates I've ever tried. Each piece is stunningly beautiful and beautifully balanced in flavor and texture. The chocolates are made fresh in the kitchen by Shekoh herself with care and love. These chocolates made fantastic thank you gifts for a few friends.

I noticed this new chocolate shop and decided to go in. The lovely Chef Shekoh greeted us and told us a little bit about the flavors I was interested in. The shop is adorable and I wish her much success. Oh and the chocolates are almost to pretty to eat. The Persian Rose was my favorite so far so if you're looking to treat yourself I highly recommend stopping by

High quality chocolates with amazing flavors. Each piece is tastefully created and has an exceptional flavor. I have been making multiple trips to the store to treat our family and also to get some gifts. There is a wide selection of chocolates from dark to fruity ones. The owner and her staff have been always friendly and welcoming. This store would be my first stop if I need to pick a gift for this holiday season.

If you crave chocolate, this is the best place to go. Good assortment and varieties. The displays are well stocked and the store looks great. Well organized and beautiful. Shekooh is "Da Bomb" with information and very friendly. She has an amazing customer service skills. She has alway had a warm smile on her face , very pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful . If you are going to eat chocolate, might as well have good chocolate. They are delicious.

Delightful experience. We got two passion fruit chocolates ($9 total) that had the purest fruity liquid inside. The staff was very fun to talk with. Definitely recommend stopping by after a meal on Cal Ave for a lovely dessert!

Exceptional quality chocolate. Never had such an amazing first quality variety of chocolates: highly recommend "Persian rose" , "le noir", "orange blossom" and "saffron ". This exquisite chocolatier is hosted by the most delightful Shekoh. Thank you for your hospitality.

Stopped by and bought a small box of 5. The shop is beautiful. The lovely person who waited on me was helpful but she went to ask Chef a few questions, at which point, she came out to speak with me herself. I got the espresso, orange blossom, saffron, lemon almond and Grand Marnier chocolates. They are extremely high-end and all tasted delicious. 4 of us sampled the 5 chocolates at home by cutting them in quarters, lol. Favorites were espresso, lemon almond and Grand Marnier. One person loved the orange blossom, which was a very unique taste. Two of us adored the saffron, a very traditional intense flavor. Hope to return to try the other flavors. The box was beautiful! The quality of the box was incredible, maybe that partially accounts for the steep pricing. Just know that the quality of the chocolates is magnificent, Valrhona chocolate is used. Be prepared to shell out the price for this rare treat.

The Le Noir is my favorite! Highly recommend a stop for chocolates! Will be appeasing my sweet tooth here again soon!

Expensive, elegant luxury chocolates that taste great and keep surprisingly well. Come in boxes of 5, 9, or 21.

The marshmallows are delicately and perfection sweetened. The burnt chocolate is a triumph in chocolatier art.
