Wow. What a delightful experience. I like that it has seating area around the food trucks. There are two other food trucks by it too. The service was really good and fast. We got a crab platter with a side of shrimp Total was about $40 and that box was more than enough for two people the potatoes were made well so were the sausage, corn and everything!!!!! lovely experience

Been following Shells and Tails 2 Geaux for over a year & finally made it tonight, & it didn't disappoint!! Delicious!! Can't wait to go back! And it was a fun atmosphere, with music & other food trucks (Smoking Al's BBQ was awesome too!) Shrimp & Crablegs, potatoes & corn were expertly seasoned. The best I've had!

My husband found this place on instagram and wanted me to try it. Not bad at all. Very beautiful presentation and plenty of food. I just prefer a little more spice and a variety of sauce but my husband said he didn’t ask about that. We Enjoyed it.

Everything is seasoned liberally and plenty of butter for you! Legs were crunchy not flimsy! Shrimp was not shrimpy and not over cooked! Sausage has a good bite to it with some great corn! Prices match the value recieved jam packed in the container!

I got their shrimp snack pack on a deal, and added two boiled eggs. The sausage was incredible! The potatoes were soft and well seasoned. The corn was sweet/spicy. Shrimp was excellent! The seasoning was flavorful! I’m a happy person! 😊🦐🌽🥔 💯 Be sure to follow their instagram for deals!

I work right inside of the GROW DESOTO MARKETPLACE…. But I have never ordered from here. I heard they had a $10 snack pack on Tuesdays and I wanted to test it out. It was awesome!!! 👏🏽 A lot of food for a tiny price. I will probably visit every Tuesday for sure.👍 ☺️☺️☺️💕💕💕

I ordered pick up with doordash last time I ordered. I had ordered 2 of the Cajun Crab Platter. The seasoning was on point then. This time the seasoning was a tad bit much but was still good and edible. I had doordash delivery and ordered the Swamp Platter which is seasonal and the Cajun Crab Platter. Both meals comes with a sausage (delish), potatoes and a corn on the cob. Neither meals comes with eggs 🥚 so I ordered some along with extra butter garlic sauce which I love ❤️. I will go bk to try other items on the menu!!!

I had an excellent experience today. Got the Shrimp Snack Pack, it was seasoned to perfection and the customer service was awesome. I even got the last of the potatoes they had left, it’s the little things that matter the most. This is not my first time supporting however, I will definitely be returning.

Checked out DeSoto Food Market and was impressed! The Shells and Tails 2 Geaux food truck and surrounding area were both very clean. One small suggestion: adding some shade (like a tent or canopy) would be great for those super hot days while ordering. I got the Cajun Munch Platter (requested no pork sausage), and the staff kindly gave me extra corn instead which was most definitely appreciated! The presentation was on point, and the food tasted great. The only thing I didn't love was the butter dipping sauce; it was a bit too thick and gel-like for my taste. Would definitely come back and recommend it for people visiting the area. Bonus: there's indoor seating with A/C and other cool vendors inside the market!

The crab is really good but MAN... is it messy to eat! This place will give you A LOT of food. The box will start to bend and morph because it's so much food. The crab, sausages, corn, and potatoes are already sauced and buttered but they will give you FOUR additional cups of extra butter (just in case). I placed the order online and when I went to pick up there was no line.

Pre-ordered my food online, when I arrived it was hot and ready to go. Taste was definitely 9/10 ( need a little more heat) but overall delicious. Prices are decent and the serving was plentiful. I will be back!

What can I say...... The best seafood in the DeSoto area, always consistent always seasoned to a perfection the best , but the cashier could be a bit friendlier kinda rude.

It was raining so there was no line as some mentioned in previous reviews. I got the Munch Sampler which was recommended. It was sooooo good with just the right amount of spice and plenty for the price. Did I just rhyme? LOL. Anywho, the potatoes were seasoned throughout and not just on top like some competitors. Oh and the butter pulled it all together. I will definitely be revisiting this food truck.

Food was amazing you get what you pay for and a lot extra!! We had the Cajun crab platter, taste buds were watering before I took my first bite.. eyes watered a lil bit afterwards too because it was gone.. UN CHIGON DE SABOR. HELLA FLAVOR FOR THE ENGLISH. DON'T HESITATE AT ALL TO TRY IT OUT AND IF YOU WANT TO GO OUT OF YOUR WAY.. DO IT! We'll Be Back whenever we're in Dallas again and then back again when we come to Dallas after that .

Soooo delicious omg. Worth the drive! Service was pretty fast. They're doing the best they can because they are so busy. The line was longggg. It's a food truck, so the ambiance is outside. We had the crab platter with an extra crab cluster, added shrimp and eggs. 5/5. Going to visit this place often!! Black owned business as well!!!

The food was really good. Price was as well. My only complaint was not being able to choose heat level and sauce for the boil. But since they were in a food truck that could be why. I will be back.

Hidden gem! Crab legs and shrimp were delicious. Corn was a little over cooked but still good. If they added homemade Cajun sauce I would give 5 stars but definitely recommend regardless.

I drove over an hour to try their Cajun shrimp platter and I was not disappointed. It was such a beautiful spring day that I decided to sit at one of the picnic tables out front and I appreciate the gentleman from the food truck bringing me napkins without me requesting them. It was so much food I barely put a dent in it before I had to save the rest for later. I was fortunate to get there before the line, but to be honest I would've and will in the near future stand in that line if need be!

The flavor!!! The service!! First thing first, the gentleman taking my order was so nice and helpful. They had a great vibe in general inside of the truck. They were washing hands and wearing gloves. Now let's discuss the food... so yummy! The sauce drizzled on top seeped nicely into the crab legs. The potatoes were tender and flavorful. The corn was tasty as well. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. I wish I would have stumbled over a long time ago. I'll be back though.

On everything this is one of the best spots in DeSoto! I love genuine Cajun seafood and they got it. I ordered a Shrimp Snack Pack and it had plenty of shrimp, potatoes, a link, and a corn on the cob. It was so good!! I enjoyed every bite of it, each bite made me happy. Every single food item was soulfully seasoned and cooked to perfection and the butter made it even more better. I can easily say this is one of my favorite local spots, and if you're curious about Shells and Tails I highly recommend it.

Finally took the drive to DeSoto to check out the infamous food truck. Upon arrival it was good and bad...bad cause the line was longer than a football stadium and good since everyone was patiently waiting for their food. While waiting in line, good time to decide what you want so when you get up to the window, you can quickly place your order. As a seafood lover, I added a lobster to the mix and although it was tasty, next time I'll add another crab cluster instead. Food was flavorful and container was packed to the rim with yummy-ness!!! Bonus is the cute little picnic tables right next to the truck so you can sit outside if weather permits, and enjoy your seafood while it's nice and hot. Happy to support #blackownedbusiness and will be back again soon!

Stumbled on this place via IG and from the few pics i saw i has to check it out and i wasn't disappointed. It is a good truck that is located at the same place daily. However they do run out of food as the day goes ok so I'd recommend getting there early. I didn't get there soon enough to try the seafood nachos, but i was able to get the Cajun crab platter with extra shrimp and man was it plenty of good and delicious. The sauce on the crab and way it was cooked was perfect. And it didn't take long at all to get our food either. They do have benches available to sit on while you wait or just wait in the car listening to some Marvin gay to get you in the mood for this delicious food. Whatever works, but you won't be disappointed here that's for sure.

Ordered the swamp platter using Uber eats. Arrived to pick up, but they were out of crawfish. Substituted the crawfish for another cluster of crab. Food was DELICIOUS. Not to spicy. Well seasoned. Well portioned. Service was great, too. Don't be intimidated by the food truck. They know what they're doing.

Shells and Tails is always a great experience. The food is hot and fresh, you know the seafood is fresh daily. I have never have a bad plate of food from here!

5 star every time !!! TikTok lead me to this tasty food and I've been coming here ever since. My family and I at least eat here once a month. Started off with the sampler nd now I just get the crab plate and add a half pound of shrimp. Keep making tasty food !!!

Best I've had was Hot N Juicy in Las Vegas prior to Shells and Tails. I was skeptical....but geez la weez I was quite satisfied especially with it not being a crab boil. Service was surprisingly quick which made me nervous but the food was spectacular!!! I will be back again and again. Oh forgot to mention I had to order a platter for my sis too. Couldn't leave her out. Go get your plate!

This is without a shadow of a doubt, not only the best seafood in DeSoto, it's the best overall eating experience to be had in DeSoto. I got the Cajun munch sampler that was worth every Penny of the 27.99 price. It brutally cold today so I also split a bowl of the jambalaya and the gumbo with the boyfriend and still have a bit left over. The people running the window were super nice and service was quick. They also have picnic tables you can eat at when the weather is nice. Everything was spicy but not too much. It was perfect. Can't recommend enough.

Customer service was top tier! I went with my sister and this place did not disappoint at all! The taste, the freshness, the garlic butter, the serving amount and the price is unbeatable. Worth every mile I drove and every penny I spent. Will recommend to all my friends and loved ones!

Food was good even tho the prices are a lil shocking. Took us close to an hour to get our food while standing/sitting in the heat. Service was ok, nothing to get excited about and there is no ambiance at all. I waited a long time to try their food and I may not ever try them again but was good just not enough to wait an hour at those prices.

Stopped by this trendy food truck during my visit in Texas. Respectfully, I was expecting a piping hot pick your seasoning in a bag you know the drill type of set up but this place definitely is not. I ordered 3lb minimum crawfish and it was saturated in a dry chili powder type of seasoning. They were okay but the dry rub seasoning was overwhelming after a the first pound. The shrimps were seasoned very well and the crab was pretty decent. Im not use to grabs in a to go box though. Sadly I had to geaux through tummy aches and pains after eating this unique set up. Doubt I'd be back but I don't regret giving it a try.

The food was great! We ended up ordering more. The guy that took our order was super friendly. They didn't have the pralines that day, and while we were eating he came out of the truck and brought us a piece of their rum cake. So nice! I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the Dallas area.

They have good food the flavor is there when you take a bite from the crab legs, just wish they had more juice to let the food marinate in the sauce!

Do the right thing for yourself (if you crave crab in a landlocked city like I do) and just get it. You could tell the crab boil was done with love and lots of lovely spice! The crab weren't sad or anemic or horribly overpriced per claw but rather huge and healthy! And I ordered from a delivery app!! Even the shrimp was spot on, I was super pleased. Ended up using the crab shells for gumbo stock and it was incredible! Keep doing what you're doing- it's awesome.

Crawfish was excellent. Shrimp was good also. Very nice staff. Food truck is located in a grocery market parking lot. One of the best seafood spots in the DFW area.

When craving crab legs I usually go to another place here in DeSoto but I kept hearing about Shells and Tails and decided to try it out. I ordered the Cajun Munch (1 crab cluster, sausage, potatoes, shrimp and corn). I really liked the crab legs, shrimp and potatoes. The corn was ok but I did not like the sausage (kinda greasy and fatty tasting). The price was good for what I received and it only took less than 10 minutes for my order to come out (I went around 11-11:30am).

Mmmmm! The best crab legs - always consistent in size and flavor! The spice is perfection! This place is always busy too, and you will see why!

THE BEST CRAWFISH I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! Worth the hour wait. Got the Cajun Shrimp platter and 2 pounds of crawfish. Shrimp platter came with a side of garlic butter. They were good but I wouldn't order them again. Now the crawfish... I wish I had taken a before picture to show the amount of seasoning on them. Perfectly seasoned and a little spicy. We'll definitely be back when I'm craving good cajun crawfish.

It wasn't 4.5 stars amazing, but I've definitely had worse. Our food was served cold shortly after they'd opened. Some of the crab legs tasted either overcooked over reheated, I can't determine which one it was. The seasoning wasn't bad. The potatoes were mushy slices. I'm not sure if this was normal but it was new to me. We asked for "wet wet" in a bag, but didn't get that. Lastly, there was a little gritty taste here and there. Again, not the best I've had but far from the worst. Not sure if I'd try again.

It's hard to believe that food this good is coming from a food truck! They also give huge portions and serve it up piping hot! Expect the prices to be higher that what you would normally expect to pay from a restaurant of this nature, but also note the quality and portion size makes it all worth it. If going on a Friday, expect a wait. In my opinion it was worth it!

OKAY! I had this joint bookmarked for THEEEE longest. DeSoto is NO WHERE near my home, but I am glad that I was chauffeured here because I had no idea what I was missing baby. Those garlic crabs, those garlic crabs, those MF garlic crabs! You ever ate something and you just wanted to sit in a big ol' tub of it? Sweet Baby Jesus! I am mad that I waited so long to come here. Being from FL, eating seafood is a given. I know in a previous review, I said that another place had seafood that was as close to how I get it back at home. WELP, THIS PLACE taste just like the garlic crabs I get at home. Down to the way the drizzle of butter is put on them crab legs. Go on out and get you some of these garlic crab legs. You will not be disappointed.

I ordered the Cajun Munch Sampler which was with 1/2 lb. Shrimp, 1/2 lb. Snow crab, 2 Corn, 1 Sausage (I substituted extra corn instead of the sausage since they didn't offer Turkey) & Potatoes! This place is pretty good and there is always a line. For about $25 you get a decent amount of crab legs, sausage, corn, and potatoes. I was pleased with the taste and presentation. My only complaint is that they serve their crab legs with a yellow sauce rather than with melted butter. I wasn't crazy about the sauce. Just plain butter for me please.

Best seafood boil I've ever had, my order was missed and I waited an hr but he gave me a free slice of whisky cake, and it was the moistest cake I've ever had.

I saw a friend of mine from this area post about Shells and Tails, because it was her birthday (gift). I've never been to DeSoto, but came to check it out (as an avid lover of seafood and this year is my 40th lol). I avoided 35 and took a detour (aka lost) and found a crowed parking lot and a long line. Placed our order for Mandown and shrimp platter as a first sampling . There was a wait and I was one of the last to order before the shutdown for the night. The service was top notch . Friendly, courteous and worth the pre-tip. Totally I love with this find. Me and my three coworkers were at work wanting some seafood, THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! everything is sooo well-seasoned, you have to try everything, there shrimp, sausage, eggs and even corn is soooo good!! if you have the chance to go don't even second guess, GOOOO!!! you won't regret it.

As a New Yorker I must say, this food truck beat any seafood establishment that I have ever tried in New York. Food is priced fairly and filled with flavor, along with very generous portions. I highly recommend this place & the staff is really friendly and professional.

Had the shrimp snack pak.. Flavor was great. I got about 10 shrimp, potatoes and a sausage. Will definitely come back.
