Delicious, hearty, and nicely portioned. I think the shakshuka would be better balanced if there was a dollop of tahini or sour cream on the top (sorry if sacrilegious) and/or an extra piece of that delightfully light and chewy pita bread. But delicious nonetheless. Ordering haloumi and eggplant as an addition is a must. The haloumi is pleasantly airy and not overbearing or greasy. Very good indeed.

So great service, good vibes, nice coffee, food and pastries!!! there's little courtyard too! Staff here is always friendly and give me great chat, food recommendations. Bacon&wrap for take away is so tasty! One of the mice & cozy cafe in Newtown/Enmore area.

Good cafe serving good food with friendly staff. We really enjoyed breakfast and coffee at the Shenkin in Enmore today. The Angelita was delicious. We also got eggs on toast with chorizo. The toast was well toasted and the chorizo were yummy. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard because it’s a bit quieter. It started to sprinkle shortly after we got our food, the staff were happy to help us move to another table under shelter when we raised it. They are very busy but tables turn around quickly so it’s worth a try if you’re in the area.

Whoever barista was working 21 Jan 2026 3pm… if she’s from Sydney but not Melb I think I might believe in love again. How, can she steam oat milk and turn it into warm, smooth, and silky cream (that is originally from south NZ cow)

Great coffee, delicious food, and friendly staff in a cute and cozy setting. Whether you eat-in or grab takeout, you won't be disappointed. Particularly love grabbing one of the many different pastries for a light morning snack along with my brew.

Lovely place, great atmosphere. I keep going back to this place not only because I live close by but also because I really like this place. Firstly, the coffee is amazing. The chai is good but nothing special - I think they use a syrup. So rather go for the coffee, it’s delicious. The food ticks multiple boxes: looks great, is tasty and has something special about it. Never had pancakes like these before! Staff is incredibly friendly, the music is lovely, and furniture and interior are stylish. Can’t ask for more!

Been wanting to go to Shenkin for a while and decided to drop in for a meal and a coffee during a weekday for lunch. Found a cozy table for two against the wall of pot plants and started with the obligatory flat white and a 'real' chai. Partner had the Shashuka with eggplant and haloumi, while I had the avocado on toast. Food was great and loved the chai. Thinking about going back to try more food off the menu..

Didn’t have to wait too long for a table. There was a group of us. They did screw up the coffees which was a little annoying but we got there in the end. Food was great. Nothing stood out however for something which is supposed to be a “Israeli” concept. It’s was just the normal breakfast basics with a “middle eastern” flare or two.. But it was “fresh” and quick which was good to see. I would come back. It’s a good local and good spot to be local with a cute outdoor area in the back.

I ate breakfast here 5-7 days I was in Sydney. It was THAT GOOD. Everything they serve for breakfast is incredible, filling and a heaping portion for the price. Food in Australia just tastes better than in the States. Everything is fresher and the flavors are more vibrant. My favorite was the Aussie Big Breakfast, with the Bite (Avocado falafel) as a close 2nd. I also ordered the Israeli Big Breakfast. Service was always friendly and the portions plentiful. You really can't go wrong with any dish here, at least not for breakfast. I never had to eat lunch so I felt the cost was an excellent value. The outside seating area was relaxing and perfect for a early autumn meal. I wish we had this place in Seattle or anywhere that can serve comparably delicious food.

Picture this- Tis the gayest and most magical of all weekends. Mardi Gras! I go to Shenkin as I have several times before for a little snack of cooked cauliflower and a coffee pre hot and fun party where I will be surrounded by friends and lovers in joyous celebration. Only this last bit does not happen. Instead the worst case of gastro I've had since I was a child in Asia in the 80s does- projectile, both ends, sleepless fever sweats wracked with body pains. Fast forward to today, where I write this still convalescing in my bed as weak as a kitten- One epic party missed, Two days of work shot, My fav pair of Calvin Kleins ruined, One visit to the docs, a Big testament to my current luv who had to clean up both spew and poo and nurse me constantly for over 24 hours. Nothing can make up for this and I certainly will never visit or recommend any of the Shenkin chain ever again. I just hope no one else caught this hidiousness as well!

Shenkin is the perfect breakfast place to go when you're really hungry. The serves are generous and hearty. The menu is interesting AND delicious. The coffee is potent and well made. And they do piña colada frappes!!!! Breakfast heaven. This is one of those dining destinations where you want to order three different drinks, breakfast, breakfast dessert and lunch because everything looks and smells so amazing. There's a homely indoor area and gorgeous little courtyard out the back. I wish this was my local!!! Altho the food is Israeli focused I was instantly transported back to a recent Turkish holiday on my first mouthful... The piña colada frappe prob helped that holiday vibe!!! **Don't go here if you only eat bacon and eggs.

Not a bad little cafe, food was ok and service was friendly. Unfortunately their attempt of an Israeli cafe falls short. The shakshuka was disappointing and they deep fried their halloumi. Atmosphere was nice but more attention to detail on their plates would be appreciated. Will definitely go back for coffee or lunch.

Small fit out which makes it cramped for take away during busy periods but overall solid coffee and food offering. Customer service (lack of) cost them a star

I came here for breakfast and had Shakshuka with eggplan and haloumi. It was outstanding, full of flavourand very filling. The coffee was also very good and the service very quick and friendly Will come again

I had dinner here for my birthday with 9 friends. The food was absolutely delicious!! Everything was amazing, from baked eggplant to dips to shakshuka and felafel, it was all tasty and beautifully presented. All the staff are always extremely friendly and great at giving suggestions. Also very reasonably priced. Favourite restaurant hands down!

Simple but delicious cuisine. The fried câpres were surprising. We had the salmon that was prefectly cooked and the hummus. The later was good but quite unoriginal.

Wow Enmore! I was amazed and excited to see the explosion of cool that has happened almost overnight along Enmore Road. With so many great food choices it was a case of just starting somewhere in the sure knowledge that I'll be returning soon. Shenkin kitchen offers lots of hummus shakshouka type options. My pastry stuffed with eggplant hummus olives was delicious, and the service warm and efficient.

Came here for a lunch on my own. I was the only one in the cafe and there were at least 2 staff on floor and 2 in the kitchen. I ordered a coffee and the fried zucchini. Coffee came, i drank it and after 25 minutes I looked towards the kitchen and one of the two staff who had been loudly chatting and laughing said to me... Are you waiting on something from the kitchen? I left. You had one customer and one job.
