Where to Eat in the Connecticut Shoreline Towns of Guilford, Madison, and Clinton | Eater Boston

"An old-timey dive bar with pool and darts that’s prized for its relaxed, unpretentious vibe — a straightforward place to grab pints, play games and share laughs with friends rather than seek anything fancy." - Georgia Kral

This is a the epitome of a local place, just like Cheers. It has a friendly atmosphere and local spirit. The food is good and you can often get something to eat here when other places have stopped serving.

Great local bar with hometown feel and fabulous bartenders! 🤩

Perfect place. Entitled woman came in and stepped all over our darts game then got mad when she missed last call. Bartender Shelly (Shelley?) was super cool and handled it very professionally. Love it. Stop by and relax and you’ll love it too.

Such a great local hangout! Our son recently moved to Guilford and we couldn’t be happier. The bartender was attentive and the patrons all were looking out for newbies. So wonderful to know there’s still real hometown spirit bars around! Cheers!!!

Stopped in last Sunday after visiting the local hardware store. Young lady, Michelle, working there was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly and personable which made my time there very enjoyable. I'll definitely be stopping again!

Wish I could leave less than a star. Came in on 3/16 and was treated horribly by staff as well as their belligerent regular/bar fly/lot lizard. The owner of the bar may want to look into patrons being over served considering the stumbling, bumbling bar fly who tried to take ownership of the bar during her drunken outburst towards our group. If you’re in the area, check out The Deck. Better staff (by far), safer/larger establishment with plenty of games to play.

I love this little tavern. The owner and bartenders are very friendly and the clietele is quite diversified. You can meet all sorts of interesting people there; college kids, blue collar workers, professional people and retired folks. Conversation amonst patrons is often fun and stimulating. The bar has a pool table (that needs work), two dart boards and pay for music in a back room. They serve food but the selection is very limited.

Great "hole in the wall" sorta place. Pool Table in back. Friendly folks behind the bar. The owner "Shep" makes you feel right at home. One if our favorite places to stop in for a beer after work.
