Sher E Punjab Grill | Seattle, WA

I had high expectations given the restaurant's name "Sher-e-Punjab," but the experience was nothing short of disappointing. Kashmiri Pulao that wasn't: I ordered Kashmiri Pulao and received plain jeera rice instead. If the chef doesn't know how to prepare a dish, it simply shouldn't be on the menu. Kashmiri pulao has a distinct preparation with nuts, dried fruits, and aromatic spices – not just cumin seeds in white rice. Butter Chicken with Chole?! Even more baffling was the butter chicken, which somehow contained chole (chickpeas). In which part of India does butter chicken come with chickpeas? And ironically, there was barely any butter in this "butter chicken." The lack of the signature creamy, buttery gravy that defines this iconic dish was shocking. This food is frankly a disgrace to the Punjabi name the restaurant claims to represent. Authentic Punjabi cuisine is rich, flavorful, and has specific preparations that shouldn't be compromised. If you're going to name your restaurant after the pride of Punjab, the food should honor that legacy.

I had the most bizarre experience. I ordered my food online, it said it would be ready in 15 min. I show up 15-20 min later to pick up my food and no one was there. The place was open, music was blasting, lights, stove and oven were on, but no one was there. I stuck around for 5 min to see if maybe they had stepped out for a bit, still no one around. So I call to see if anyone will pick up, another odd experience. A man answers "Hello" like its his personal phone, I ask if this is the Punjab Grill and he just said "yes." I then ask if he received my order, and he just says "yes," and he says we are still working on it. My order was never accepted or made. Judging from the other reviews of the bad food and the scamminess vibe, I'm not ordering from here again. Such an uncomfortable experience to say the least.

We walked in, was not greeted what so ever. We continue to order food off of an iPad while the hostess just sat in a corner. After our order we were told there were no orders that went through(while I have a charge on my bank account). Then we are told the chef is out getting ingredients and it will be an hour. They had no ingredients to cook our meal while being already charged. We ultimately got a refund (not officially yet) and were on our way. This is not at all anything I would recommend eating at.

Worst restaurant i ever seen as I ordered paneer tikka masala through ubereats but they sent me chicken paneer tikka masala. I never ate chicken as i am pure vegetarian. But this restaurant people hurts sentiments. When I contacted them they were speaking in rude way instead of apologising for their mistakes. They said that i will prepare order for you but you need to take by yourself. Disgusting place i ever seen. I will never recommend anyone in my life

Worst Indian food I’ve ever had. Ordered paneer tikka masala as a vegetarian, got chicken. Only noticed after dipping my horrible naan into it. The sauce tasted worse than canned tomato soup. The naan was similar if not worse than frozen flatbread pizza. Rice wasn’t even good and that’s the easiest part. Hope to see this on kitchen nightmares someday :)

Please review the hygiene immediately. The place is worse than garbage inside the restaurant. I strongly advise that no one should eat from them at all.

Worst! I was there late night to pick up food and trust me you would not want to take out from here. Tried chicken tandoori and simple dal rice, both were equally bad.

This place is disgusting. I ordered kadhi pakora and it was like water with a tinge of yellow added to it. The taste was horrible and so sour. I also got the samosas which had stale potatoes on the inside. It's the worst indian food I have ever had in my life.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! A totally Scam if I say so I haven't had the food but just by the look at the other reviews and you'll get food poisoning. I placed an order at the location on accident and called very quickly to cancel they then refused to give me my refund even tho I had not taken any food from them since I was 27mi away!!!!! And then told me to call "Slice" their partner company for ordering so I called and the girl on the phone sounded like she was in high school and told me "deal with it happening your not getting refund" thank god I called my credit card company. Whatever you do don't eat from a place that has no respect for customers. I'll have better luck talking to a damn rock than these people.

Good food open 24/7!! Better option than Taco Bell. Easy to find location next to the ice cream shop.

The inner conditions of this restaurant are dismal. They have a low food safety rating by Seattle Public Health ("Needs to Improve", dated 4-18-2023). Please see my attached photo for proof. You'll notice on the sign that their business name is "Bombay Grill". Make no mistake, it's the same restaurant, just operating under a different name.

This is the worst cafe I have ever seen, a complete mess, everything is very dirty, cockroaches climb into the kitchen, I am attaching the video, I hope the restaurant frequency inspection will see this video and there will be a big check because it does not fit into any framework so people are not allowed feed... I beg you to take action.

Most- if not all- of the people that have left anything higher than 1 star on this restaurant are bots or have never tasted food before. These guys are running an absolute scam. When you search up the address of this restaurant, two more pop up in the same exact plot; Tandoori Wraps and Pizza and Bombay Grill. This is extremely sketchy. On top of this, the kitchen has dozens of health code violations, and the dining area is small and cramped. Do not go to this place, do not give these scammers buisness.

I placed an order for Delivery. The estimated time was 1 hour. It was late at night, so I called to ensure they received the order. They assured me it was received, and told me it would be about an hour. After about an hour and a half, still no order, so I called again. I had to call twice to get them to answer the phone. They seemed confused and then assured me it arrive in another 30 minutes.... no apology.... somewhat rude. After another 45 minutes.... still no order, or attempts to contact me. Called again .... no answer. Never received order. Thankfully ordered through grub hub... so was able to get refunded. However did not solve the no food problem. I have read other reviews for this place and this is not just an isolated incident. These people do NOT care about their customers... they do not need our business. Stay far away from this place. Check the reviews on Grub Hub... 2 star rating... all the same issues. Soooo frustrating.

Recently I walked by and noticed that the decor on the front of the restaurant had been changed. Pictures of delicious looking food now cover the front window where one could previously look through and see the disgusting kitchen. I looked closer hoping to see that changes had been made inside. Nope, still grotesque. Now they're just trying to hide it.

This place is ridiculous with their hours. Always closed when they're suppose to be open. Don't waste your time. Also I walked by and took a peak inside through the window right next to the kitchen. It's so GROSS AND DISGUSTING. Cooking pans they cook with left all over the place without being washed looks like it's been sitting there for years. Saw mold all over the place. Dust everywhere about an inch deep. Couple bugs crawling around too. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN ITS A HEALTH HAZARD. DONT GO HERE BECAUSE YOU WILL GET THE RUNS.

DANGER!!!!!! This was my first time eating here. I ordered this through ubereats. I've eaten and made thousands of curries. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE had curry that had mini shards of bone throughout the curry! THIS IS A DEATH TRAP! Nearly cracked my tooth! This has to be a violation! There's no way this is legal to serve! I thought it was one bone! No I counted 18 shards of bone throughout my curry! I'm so angry about this because I could have choked, been stabbed, or God forbid died from this. Someone read this and FIX IT!!!

Whaaaaat a shit hole. They brought 1 glass of water that tasted like cleaner for 2 people sitting at the table. We ordered 2x orders of lamb & calamari & got chicken, with no calamari & the guy asked for $25 cash... Also ordered 2x mango drinks & got one that tasted about as bad as you think it would by looking at the restaurant. I like to give small, homely looking business a chance, but as I write this review, my stomach is starting to hurt from the water I drank & I haven't even started to eat the chicken that I didn't order. Calling an Uber for a trip to the hospital, as a precautionary measure, before I get cracking in this ugly chicken dish. Do yourself a favor & avoid this place. Follow up to my initial post... I've never had bland Indian food until now & I figured when it happened that it would be somewhere in the little of nowhere in North Dakota, from a guy name Todd. The only way I suggest to eat this food to smoke a big joint to take the nervous edge off from looking at the food & to trigger your body's hunger signals hard enough to eat something you know is gonna cause you to question who you are as a person. Gotta love that "Rare" chicken life. Luckily I've conditioned my immune system by eating at questionable gas stations throughout my life, which this place has me wishing i had gone to & grabbed a 6 day old "sausage" on a stick instead of paying $25 cash for this box of garbage.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! My bf and I ordered to go from this place once and had really delicious goat curry so we decided to try it again. We placed an order through DoorDash for pick up and just arrived only to be told that someone else had already picked it up. The owner said someone came in, pretended to be my boyfriend, and picked up the food. He flat out lied to our faces and refused to make us new dishes or refund us. Said we had to contact DoorDash instead. This restaurant is owned by a liar and a thief, do not give him your money!

Kitchen a mess. Food was prepared fast but I ordered a Cesar salad and just got lettuce.

Worst service ever. We ordered this on GrubHub. Food took 2 1/2 hours to arrive. We called multiple times about the status of the order and the restaurant just gave us the driver's number, no apology. When we called to complain about the wait time and ask for a refund the man who answered the phone told us we could return the food if we didn't want it and literally said "I don't care. I only made $1 off this order."

This place was hugely disappointing in every way imaginable. I ordered from Eat24hours and the food (estimated at 45-60 minutes) took an hour and 40 minutes to arrive. After getting here the driver insisted that he had tried to text me several times and had also called me at the Eat24 temporary number. Despite this, my phone had never gone off from a phone all and you can't actually text through their reroute number. After explaining these things to the guy, he insisted that "next time you should answer your phone" instead of apologizing for being so late. At this point, everybody in the house is starving so we begin to open the food. For one thing, there is twice the amount of packaging that we would need, every tiny plastic container wrapped in plastic in a plastic bag. The cold dessert was placed at the bottom of the bag so that it could get warm. The three curries all came with an identical premade bland sauce even though we ordered three disctintly different dishes. The tikka masala featured chunks of chicken that were not cooked in a tandoori oven as they are supposed to be. The Nawabi Korma, a dish that should be lamb meatballs in a cashew sauce with raisins consisted of chunks of beef in the same bland tikka sauce. The paneer korma, which should be a vegetarian version of the same, was also in the tikka sauce and the dumplings were gooey. The final dish was the tandoori mixed plate. It was supposed to be 3 different kebabs but was instead 6 pieces of overooked meat (also not cooked in a tandoori) and the rest of the tiny container was stuffed with undercooked (sauteed mysteriously) vegetables. The lamb kebab in this dish was again bland overcooked beef. One of the breads we recieved was not what we had ordered. Late, rude, bland, tiny portions, overpriced, incorrect items. When we got done eating, everybody was still hungry.

Worst experience I've had ordering and trying to support a local business!!! The owner was incredibly rude and blatantly lied about delivery time. When we called twice to inquire about food arrival once 30 minutes past anticipated delivery time had come and gone. He told us it would be about 20-25 minutes, they were just backed up. Totally understandable, there's a pandemic, people are ordering in. Not the case. After another 30 mi urea we phoned again to check in, at that time the owner said to call the driver. We reached out to see where the driver was at, he stated he was on his way. Finally 2.5 hours later the driver arrives. Food is lukewarm at best. Told the driver we tried to cancel and didn't want the food. Driver says he's just a friend of the owner and cannot take The food back. He also states that drove from down from AUBRUN to lake city to help the original driver who had the order....The number provided by the owner and the number the "new" driver called on to let us know of his arrival was the same number.... Attempted to resolve with the owner of who stated, regarding the whole situation "I only made $1 dollar off the order and I don't care!" Obvious thy they have done this before by reading other yelp reviews. So here's my review and hoping you choose to support more worthy restaurants then this one!

It is not the first time I tried this place but it is third time successful and taste worthy food delivered to me Appreciate your business and I recommend to my friends Must try the mango chicken & I recommend their garlic naan and saag paneer as well

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Worst Indian food I've ever had. Dry chicken in tikka masala that had bone in it when it was supposed to be boneless. Burned naan with no flavor. Tikka masala and butter chicken had no flavor or spice even when ordered as 'hot'. Driver was incompetent and couldn't understand basic instructions. Very rude owners insisted there was nothing wrong with the order even though there was a bone that was almost swallowed. (Picture was taken and still they insisted there was no bone)

The best Indian food in town! Hands down! The people here are so friendly. I walked in and immediately felt like I already knew the cooks and the employees here. The food is amazing. I had the coconut chicken curry and it's literally the best Indian food I ever had. I walked in when they were closed and they wouldn't let me leave without placing my order and cooking for me. I've never felt so at home as I felt here today at this restaurant! I will be back and I will highly recommend to my family and friends!!

Ordered delivery from this place at 10:30pm. They failed to deliver it by 12:00am. I cancelled ordered at 12:05 as it didn't made any sense and slept empty stomach. Worst experience from both restaurant and grubhub. Would have rated negative is possible

Tandoori chicken came with gravy and did not taste good. Kabab was not at all Kabab, rather lamb gravy. Food did not taste good either.

I literally made a Yelp account just to write this terrible review. Service: non-existent Food: tasted off For starters they charged us $10 more in the store than what they said on the phone. My partner and I are queer and they would not stop staring. All of the food didn't taste right. I felt very uncomfortable being there and their service was abysmal. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Very disappointed, my order took over an hour and a half,had fell asleep and they kept calling me,the samos were over cooked and oily with grease, the naan was dry and cold,gave it all away to a homeless person,the driver was more worried about picking up a hooker!

Filthy location in Lake City, sorry to say. Used to be great when in the U District. Oh, and they refused to honor our gift certificate which had been signed by the owner! Honestly, when I went there to get dinner and redeem the certificate I took one look at the disgusting kitchen and entrance and knew I shouldn't eat a thing from this business. The woman in charge refused my valid gift certificate and then told me to "get out" unless I would pay cash. A homeless man also literally stayed in the open doorway the whole time. This business should close.

The first few times I had their food, I loved it, but they just gave us and a Doordasher the complete runaround for no reason at all. They said they were open, we ordered their food, got the notification that it was being prepared, and that someone was picking it up...and then...they were mysteriously closed. So yeah, sorry dudes, never ordering from your crooked establishment again.

Very small "dining area", used as living space for the cooks... Far from up to health code, I was scared to even try the food due to sight of the place. Very shady activity at this restaurant, forced me thru the back of the kitchen to find an ATM in the back alley to pay by cash. When I decided to leave they said the credit card machine is now working... Food was sparse and terrible quality, rice was really bad. Probably one of the worst restaurant I've ever been to, even worse than ones in developing countries with a lower COL.

It's a sheer negligence of health department. They have a heath rating of "okay " but in my opinion it is worst than that.

The only reason i ate here was because i was drunk at 1 am and it was the only place open. The food tasted alright at the time. But the next day i woke up sober and remembered how dirty this place looked. It looked like a abandoned kitchen in a zombie apocalypse. There is a nasty film covering most of the kitchen and random stains all over the place. I am now going to see a doctor in hoped that i did not pick up any diseases. This place could be good if they cleaned up once in a while

I like food here because it's halal. Halal food are good and healthy. I'm Catholic and Indonesian. I usually prefer to have halal food, while actually I don't have to but I really enjoy it.

This review is not about the food, since we didn't get any. This is a review about their delivery service in association with eat24. We placed an order and had the order cancelled on us 2 hours later. Neither the restaurant nor eat24 gave us any updates about the order, we just received an email 2 hours later that the order has been cancelled. It reflects very poorly on yelp that they are not able to handle a simple order, I am more than happy to take my money elsewhere. Have no comments about the food, but I would never order delivery from eat24 again. [Update] Food did arrive 2 hours 15 minutes after we ordered and about 20 minutes after we received an email from eat24 that the order was cancelled. The delivery person asks if I would want to still take the order and pay cash for it, politely refused and decided not to order through eat24 again.

We waited 2 hours for our food to arrive. We live just 5 minutes away. Yes, I understand that we all live in a big city, but 2 hours is a little extreme to be waiting for delivery. We called the restaurant 2 times and were told that it would be at our home soon. It's such a bummer because the food was actually pretty good (or was it because we were so hungry?) and I would have most likely eaten there again. Such a shame.

Actually zero stars!! ordered via Eat24 at 9:51pm, estimated time of delivery was 1 hour from the time of deliver. called after one hour, restaurant told food is out for delivery and i shall expect in another 10-15 mins as delivery boy has 4 deliveries to make. called after 20 mins, same story called Eat24 after another 20 mins, they contacted them and came back to me saying expect delivery in 10 mins. after 20 mins, delivery man called me to tell that he will be at my place in another 25-30mins, i lost my patience - i asked him to take the food back to restaurant as it is highly unexpectable. as i moved in this new house a day before, i had my kitchen totally empty and at mid-night Sher-e- Punjab left me stranded. No food, no money refund - cant describe the torture i went through, not to mention that i had to sleep empty stomach.

Horrible experience. Always cancels your postmates 20 minutes after you place the order without any notice.

I ordered my food at 1:30am since it says they olem 24/7 and they said it will be delivered by 2:29am. Here I am waiting and it's 2:29 nobody called so I called the restaurant. The person answer the phone said my food is on the way and should be here soon. Here comes 3:00am so I decided to call Grubhub to see if they can track my order. After talking to them they said the restaurant told them they already closed but on Yelp it says OPEN 24/7. Next time whoever the boss is please make sure to notify customers that they ordered has been canceled not notify me its on the way and then 2hrs later sent me a txt saying my ordered has been canceled
