"For about 20 years, Sheri has been one of the few restaurants serving African food in Miami. Specifically, Nigerian food waiting patiently behind plexiglass to be scooped up. Daily specials rotate but you can pretty much always expect jollof rice, egusi soup, pepper soups, and assorted meats like tender chicken and goat—as well as sides of fufu so good you should get two orders. To get inside, ring the bell at the door. There are plenty of tables if you want to eat in the dining room, but the food is all available for takeout as well. And there’s a small selection of Nigerian pantry items for sale by the register, too. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc" - Ryan Pfeffer

Mrs. Sherri is an amazing cook if you're looking for an African flare. Very relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy your food. Me and my boyfriend make sure to go at least once a month and sometimes bring others to join.

I never leave negative comments for my people but, this restaurant is horrible. Please don’t eat there food. I’m on vacation and was craving my culture food. Ordered from this restaurant and my daughter and I got extremely sick. I ordered okra stew. As you can see in my picture this looks like fish soup no okra. Crazy Part is okra is a cheap vegetable how can you make a soup that you consider okra with no okra. I’m writing this message in the emergency room. Please don’t eat here, something about there kitchen isn’t sanitary. I was better off eating the Hispanic food. Way better choice than this. I’ve eaten from black owned soul food restaurants and lots of Hispanic restaurants all the food was good in Florida. The day I try my own people’s food they messed up my entire vacation because I feel sick as a dog after only 3 bites. My daughter only took 1. I believe I got food poisoning from this soup. If I can give this restaurant 0 stars I will. The biggest disappointment in African culture. Please share all over social media so people can never come here again.

My partner and I visited Miami from Colorado Springs and we were hungry for a Nigerian food. We found this restaurant and we enjoyed everything we ate. The vegetable tasted like a party soup and it was very hot! We had to do some take outs too! This is a restaurant you need to consider when in need of Nigerian food that tastes like home-made meal! Very neat and spacious space too!

Went to this restaurant twice, the first time I got the goat with fufu. The fufu was amazing but the goat meat tasted old and it was hard. The lady was pleasant to talk with. The second time I went the lady was rude I got the chicken fufu and spinach. The fudu was awesome the chicken was old and she put my spinach in a lot of sauce so I was not able to get the authentic taste. Also, this was my first time eating African food and it was not what I expected.

I think this is my first time leaving a negative comment for a small business owner. I purchased two meal one with turkey and one with chicken! I promise the chicken meal was 3 pieces of a chop chicken part maybe 3/4 of the leg and what looked like the part of the chicken thigh that you clean or simply chop off and throw away. The second dish was a turkey wing I could not bite or chew. The tip of the turkey wing was chopped up in my plate and a few other pieces! They quickly bagged the food! Did not see the chicken until I was home. I paid 20 each for what looked like left overs from someone’s plate, food was not spicy, had little or none flavor. At the end I was still over charge. I hated to throw the food away but I was so disappointed!

The manager or woman in charge was nice, welcoming, and attentive. She also has a sense of humor, which was nice. There was also a waitress... a Spanish-speaking somewhat elderly lady with big and seemingly FULL bewbs behind her snug shirt. At least size DD, I'm thinking. This has nothing to do with the food, but It was a nice aspect to the visit 😁 I ordered the okro soup (assorted meats) with pounded yam fufu, a bottle of palm wine, and Jamaican ginger beer. The meats in the soup had too many big bones, and the soup itself needed more Maggi, salt, and pepper. However they provided akabanga hot oil and salt, and I was happy. The fufu had a nice even consistency, not too hard and not too soft. The restaurant is in a convenient location, easily accessible via public transit and ride shares. The "store" part of the place also has a variety of random useful ingredients and products. If I ever revisit Miami, I'll be sure to dine AND shop at this restaurant again! 👍🏿

Bawoni! 🇳🇬 I felt like I was back in Nigeria, served like an empress! The couple was adorable, the place was clean, the food was excellent and I even stayed to finish the African movie they had on. Omo, I was in heaven! 🙌🏽💃🏽

As a Nigerian myself, this is a place to AVOID. Horrible and dishonest people. These cheats are also very belligerent on the phone, They attempted to make me blame the Uber driver for their mistakes which would be destroying other people's livelihood and I haven't even gotten to the food. The food is one of the worst from any Nigerian restaurant in the United States that I have tried. They are truly the first with zero wow factor. All their food tasted like they were prepared 2 weeks ago! This is not a good Nigerian restaurant and even worse are the people who operate this thing. They feel they are unaccountable after giving you their nasty food, lack of ability to complete a order, and inability to accommodate simple requests like sending cutlery which was explicitly stated to them. This place should be shut down.
