"Tucked away on the floor of a steep, wooded valley, this former corn mill is full of rustic character, with cluttered, low-beamed rooms, open fires and cosy snugs. Monthly changing menus offer hearty, flavoursome dishes made with Yorkshire produce. The young team are organised and welcoming – and boutique bedrooms add to the appeal." - Michelin Inspector

Great business evening at the Shibden Mill Inn, where the food, wine, and service were all exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and well looked after. The evening got off to a slightly underwhelming start with the aperitif, which didn’t quite meet the standard of the rest of the experience. However, things quickly turned around with a selection of nibbles, including the freshly baked jalapeño bread was a standout. The spiral like roll was packed with flavour and the perfect balance of heat and softness. For the starters, the stone bass served with crispy chicken skin and Thai inspired butter sauce was absolutely stunning, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The chateaubriand followed and it was delicious. The tenderness and quality of the meat is just amazing. Paired with well executed sides and sauce made it a delicious and satisfying dish. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening with fantastic food and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.

We recently spent a relaxing overnight stay at this charming country inn and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Nestled in a picture-perfect rural setting, the inn is surrounded by rolling hills, quiet lanes, and beautiful views — the ideal location for a peaceful escape.||The staff were welcoming and genuinely helpful, making us feel instantly at home. The room was spotless, tastefully decorated, and full of character. Thoughtful touches such as the map of local walks which we took advantage of to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside.||Sunday lunch was top notch! Lots of great choice on the menu and the roast was outstanding — perfectly cooked lamb, crisp roast potatoes, perfect yorkshires, and rich, flavourful gravy. The portions were generous, and the service was prompt and friendly. Make sure to leave room for dessert, the sticky toffee pudding was lush! Breakfast the following morning was equally impressive - freshly prepared and absolutely delicious!||Will be recommending to friends and looking forward to coming back.

This is the hidden gem of West Yorkshire. The most incredible innovative food, absolutely not your standard pub grub. Made with real passion & flair, and most of all utterly delicious. In the most unique historical surroundings. It’s so good I don’t want to share it. Thank you for such a fabulous lunch. The Chateaubriand was utterly exceptional.

Not the easiest to get to or park but once in it is lovely. Price could be considered steep but the food was lovely and we thought worth the money. Childrens food was great value and the scallops were great. Service was excellent as was the ambiance. Recommend to everyone for special occasions.

We stayed here and had dinner.|Everything was great.|The room was quirky. As it should be in an old building. It was clean and spacious.||The dinner was fantastic. Both with the food (recommended the beetroot starter) and the service.||This is a place I want to go back to when we have more time. |There are lots of walks around that look interesting.

Lovely pub, very quaint, food good and bad. I am not vegetarian but sometimes have meat free meals depending on the menu. The Isle of Wight tart was terrible, the pastry base was so hard, it must have been in the back of the freezer for months! My partner’s meal was very good. (Steak and chips).

This was my first visit to Shibden Mill Inn for lunch. Absolutely delighted. The food was delicious, the service exceptional and the price extremely reasonable. If you are in the area make your way here. Just one small criticism would be the music. I feel that piped popular music is not in keeping with such a high quality venue. If music is a must try gentle classical music for all generations. It would enhance the ambience.

Yelp
This place is incredible. Accommodations are nice enough but the restaurant/ dining is a legit 10. I live in California and my wife and I talk about flying back to England just for the Shibden Mill breakfast. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Well there is only so much culture vulture action I can take in one day. So after a very pleasant day at Shibden Hall it was time for some light refreshments and the Shibden Mill Inn. What a fine looking pub it is too. Nice stone brick and big to boot. On wandering in I wasn't disappointed either. It's laded with oak beams and swanky rafters. All this adds to a cosy atmosphere. So I settled my bum and relaxed and relax I did. Maybe that was to do with the good selection of wine served by the glass if you wish, from around the world. Plenty of choice and three sizes to choose from. That's pretty much unheard of these days. The Merlot was a nice tipple. As for the food, this was a welcome treat. You can have a Yorkshire Pudding as a starter. Yes a starter if you wish. Follow that up with a massive slab of Shibden burger with deluxe chips or go for something more sophisticated like the mussels or fowl's breast. My only gripe was that it is quite dear for pub grub but it's very good pub grub so I guess I should leave my English complaining head at home. Overall a fine stop off for food and drink alike.

Yelp
Cozy pub off the beaten path. Fairly certain we were the only Americans there but staff was very accommodating. Great vegetarian options and creative dishes!

Yelp
The food is superb and never fails to please. The pub is an old coaching inn in a wonderful setting . It is a pleasant place to sit outside on a summer's evening.

Yelp
I need to visit Elland every couple of months. I always look forward to staying at the Shibden. The Staff is excellent, rooms very nice and dining wonderful. Nothing at all to be critical about. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!
