I mean, it's certainly not a night market, but at least the food helps you pretend that you are at one. Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks is located in the food court area of this shopping plaza, the building to the left of 99 Ranch.
Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks is a chain, so you may have seen them at other Asian based plazas before. Shihlin is named after one of the most well known night markets in Taiwan, so if you're familiar with the name too that may be where you've heard it from.
The ordering system here is self-service kiosk, so if you want to order something, just take it to the kiosk on the right side of this stall.
There isn't a huge selection of foods to choose from, but then again, there's really not that much stuff to night markets in general, so it does have all of the basics you will need to partake in the flavor experience.
It was just a simple order today, with the XXL Crispy Chicken, since I had other plans for additional eating the rest of this day.
The chicken is fried perfectly, and just so crunchy and juicy. The portions are also decent, and could be shared with a couple of people reasonably, and at least 1-2 full bites each for a few people. The pieces are cut up, so you won't have to all snack on the same piece of chicken, no worries.
Pricing wise, it's comparable. The menu itself offers a variety of food offerings from the night market style cuisine. Though just as night markets are typically done in Taiwan, they are normally just snacks and not really seen as a main meal. While they do offer bento like offerings, I would recommend the snackier items on the menu instead in addition to your pre/post meal.
Since it's in a food court, there is seating that can be found for the most part depending on how busy all of the shops inside are, but every time I've gone it hasn't been an issue, particularly nowadays, so you should be good to go. Just make sure if you are sharing your foods, or eating on the go, to get extra napkins as some of these are really more hand foods if anything.
