I had an amazing dinner here. The place is cozy, lively and fun. The food was outstanding. My favorite rolls were the Hunny and Summer Beach Body. Absolutely delicious. Service was great. I can't wait to come back.

I'm not a big fan of sushi but my wife is I brought her here to maintain the harmony and peace within our marriage. The place is comfortable and casual. I thoroughly enjoyed the Indiana Jones roles (but I don't recall the exact name of the dish). I really liked their California rolls too (I didn't take a picture of them). If I were with my sons, or with my buddies, I would have eaten a lot more!

Google
Really great spot! My friends and I unknowingly came in for happy hour on a Monday and was greeted with $5 wine, appetizers, and hand rolls. I took advantage of it and ordered the house white and a shrimp tempura hand roll while sharing the cartel roll. The food was really tasty and our server was awesome! I’d definitely come back again.

Google
We had a great experience here! We started with the gyoza and it had good flavor with a little bit of spice, I think from the sauce. I ordered the Beef Bulgogi and I was happy to see a generous amount served! It had great flavor and the meat wasn’t fatty which is a plus for me! It was definitely a pricey meal but I’m glad we were able to visit!

First off ignore the fishy smell when you walk in. I have passed over this place three times because of that (my) rule. I'm glad I did because this place is awesome. Small sushi joint with a handful of tables inside and out, and a sushi bar. Extensive menu with really good fancy rolls, and a sashimi special with thick cuts of very quality sushi. The garlic edamame had a citrus ponzu flavor that was unreal. Ordered the crispy rice and that was the stuff of my dreams. I could eat that every day and not get tired! I got the Prospect roll and the spicy yellowtail roll. My son got the Dragon and my daughter the lunch sushi combo. All were very very good fresh fish and perfect rice rolls and the sashimi was huge! Definitely two biters. Reasonably priced, good service, will go back!

Google
Very unique no rice rolls, I ordered summer beach body rolls and shiku . it's very delicious and light for stomach . I eat only summer beach and other I took it with me . One roll was enough but I like trying different usually. I have great service with friendly spirits. Jacky was lovely and very friendly.

Google
I live nearby and this is my go to spot for a sushi fix. Freshest fish, great HH and the service is always great- special shout out to Jamie for always bringing me luck with the first pour! Great location with outdoor tables to watch all the cruising down Prospect.

Google
This was my second trip to Shiku Sushi and it was even better than my first. This trip, the owner and staff selected my menu each night and I was never disappointed. The servers, Jacky, David, Ashley, and Hana, all exceptional and the food AMAZING! I I so love the specialty rolls, Casanova, Summer Beach Body, and Indy-ana where my favs!

Yelp
My wife and I had a great experience at Suki Sushi! I would definitely give it five stars. The food was excellent, and the staff were amazing. We'll definitely be coming back again. 5/5

Yelp
I was there celebrant birthday with friends and my son. the service was great and the food was delicious. our waitress was Hana and she served me a cute desert with a candle for my birthday. Great food and it's fun to sit there and watch all the action on Prospect.

Yelp
I came to visit LA and decided to try this sushi spot! It was soooo good ! The sushi was super fresh, delicious, and beautifully plated. I got the sun kissed sushi it was so fresh and good. What really made the experience unforgettable was our server, Hanna. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Her energy was so warm and genuine, it felt like we were being taken care of by a friend. Thank you, Hanna, for making my visit extra special!

Yelp
Great sushi and really reasonable prices. It's in a great spot down in La Jolla and I've never been disappointed

Yelp
Arrived around 1pm on a rare rainy Saturday afternoon and was able to get seated right away. Ordered two roll: spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. The rolls were very fresh and very reasonably priced given how expensive La Jolla can be! Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and in the mood for sushi .

Yelp
My friends and I came here for the happy hour on a Friday. We were seated immediately and all got multiple hand rolls, appetizers, and wine as a part of the happy hour deal. It was all excellent and came out fast. The music quietly played in the background so we could catch up and talk, which was great!!

Yelp
Came here during Happy hour and found some great appetizers! We ordered edamame, 3 of the hand rolls including the spicy tuna, salmon avocado, and California. They were very large and delicious. The vegetable spring rolls were crunchy and tasty. The shrimp tempura was also very good. The server was friendly and attentive and brought our food out quickly. The restaurant was cute and cozy. We sat at the table close to the windows where we had a nice view of the exterior street. It was nice to see the fog rolling in. It gave the evening a mystical atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

Lily K.

Yelp
Last night we had a dinner as usual same quality delicious and cold beer with cold glasses

Yelp
First time visiting & so glad we found this place. Hana our server was very helpful & courteous with the menu. We started off with the cucumber salad & gyoza which was super fresh & light. We ordered the Pimp n' shrimp n' & Hana recommend the Indy-Ana Jones & man... I just can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We tried Shiku Sushi for the first time. Jamie and Brian treated us beautifully with the best service. The sushi and sashimi delicious, fresh and melts in your mouth, so many flavors! The owner, Hitoshi really care about the food and experience. We go back often

Yelp
Love this place!!! All the rolls are unique and extremely delicious! Highly recommend!!! The service was amazing as always. They go above and beyond to make sure you're happy.

Yelp
Love this place. The sushi is great, and the server we had the most recent time we went (Jackelyn) was super helpful and accommodating.

Yelp
My friends and I wanted to try Shiku. We were there during happy hour. They gyoza was really tasty. I ordered to Chicken Yokisoba and it was good. My friends tried the honey roll. They were out of fresh wasabi. Service is very friendly & helpful. It's very tiny inside. They do have a lunch menu.
google avatar

Skylar L.

Yelp
Amazing dining experience! The fish was so tasty and the service was great. The happy hour was very nice as well.

Yelp
We frequent this place a lot and then we we're out of town for around six months and returned this evening and found the quality was exactly the same.. fresh , delicious & reasonably priced especially for La Jolla!! The staff are lovely and the owner is a true gentleman!! You gotta go!!
google avatar

Jodi W.

Yelp
I cannot believe it took me years, YEARS, to try this place. I have been sad since the original sushi on the rock disappeared off prospect, and I have been searching for a place in the village that has salmon that melts in my mouth with deliciousness. I found it here. Absolutely amazing sashimi. My roll was enhanced by the sauce on the side. I just loved the ahi with basil! Life changing. So good. The chef was impressive and I found everyone kind. It's a tad expensive but my gosh, the rent there must be a fortune. Highly highly recommend!

Yelp
Catching up on some reviews when I visited La Jolla in September. I absolutely love sushi and this place hit the spot! They have outdoor and indoor seating. There is a bar area that is front of the sushi chef which is pretty cool. The sushi chef was busy making rolls and the waitress was busy attending to customers. When we sat down there was a paper menu where you selected what you wanted - super easy! We gave our paper and ordered our drinks and waited - about 20 minutes and we got our food. I was so excited to eat it all! The vegetable egg rolls were amazing and that sweet Thai chili sauce was excellent! The sushi rolls hit the spot, every bite just so delectable! If you're craving some sushi in La Jolla - visit this place!

Yelp
We made a reservation and the table was ready when we arrived. Probably wouldn't have had to wait too long, but glad we had the option for our group. We tried a variety of sushi, appetizers, and more. All was delicious! The sake recommendation was really good too- and I'm not even a big fan of sake usually. Staff and service was great- friendly, helpful, and prompt. Definitely recommend the Beach Body roll, the crispy rice app, edamame, and el cartel. The teriyaki chicken was a hit too.

Yelp
I was craving sushi for lunch and saw this establishment had great reviews and was close by. The speciality rolls ordered through DoorDash were the HUNNY roll ($20) and INDY-ANA JONES & THE TEMPURA OF THE DOOM roll ($24). They were not good unfortunately. And what really made it worse is they served old black avocado. Nobody wants a roll that's mainly covered in avocado to be black. The topping on the Indy roll was made of like shellfish outer shell or something. Just wasn't good. So unfortunate to spend this much with this sort of quality.

Yelp
Popped in for dinner and we were very happy with our experience! Fortunately we were able to sneak into seats at the bar, the selection of options are great for vegetarians and pescatarians alike! We all started with a warm cup of miso soup and seaweed salad. Both fresh, light flavors, and well balanced in crunch. We ordered quite a selection after a day of walking the cove and were happily full. The Chefs choice ended up being a repeat of same fish twice, and the pieces were a bit tough compared to what I was expecting but still overall very nice and clean. La Jolla roll was pretty neat coming with no rice but it was difficult to handle and the amount of imitation crab salad was a little overwhelming. The vegetarian rolls were crunchy and fresh and avocado salmon a perfect staple. If I were to go again I personally would skip rolls with the imitation crab meat, focus more on individual nigiri or sashimi and definitely more seaweed salad! Super kind staff, welcoming space!

Yelp
We came in here during happy hour and loved the food. The fresh hand rolls were fabulous and for the price, they were unbeatable. We had the prospect roll and the dragon roll and they both had solid fresh flavors. We were not disappointed. The service was also spot on and very attentive.
google avatar

Helen N.

Yelp
The salmon sashimi was soo fresh and they were generous with the slices! The fresh breeze by the beach added a nice ambiance for our lunch :)
google avatar

Avery L.

Yelp
The fish was super fresh and was very tasty. Me and my friends got different things to try like the salmon sashimi, albacore, Philly, summer beach body, Casanova and the prospect. My personal favorite was the Casanova just because it's was more on the spicier side but still very tasty. The service was amazing as well always constantly asking for refills and if everything was good. Not only that but the food came out relatively quick. The pricing on things was very good too. We got about 8 rolls and two salads all for about $150! Would come back here again

Yelp
not the best quality sushi I've ever had but definitely good enough for a resort town. Fast service, friendly service, and good flavors.

Perla L.

Yelp
We were welcomed by a host and were quickly seated. It did not take long for us to be attended and service was efficient. The food was amazing, the customer service was great, just a place to vibe! Definitely recommend.

Kendall D.

Yelp
It was great! First time and I had a spicy tuna hand roll, two salmon nigiri, and the jewel roll and it was amazing! Super densely packed with fish. Very time efficient. Good music.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in La Jolla. This is a nice cozy little family restaurant not far from the coast. The staff here is amazing. They are on their game. The food is fresh and very flavorful. We tried several of the sushi roll, nigiri, sashimi, short ribs and the bulgogi. The meat dishes had some much flavor. When we are in La Jolla this is going to be our place to eat.
google avatar

Maria N.

Yelp
Food was really good! Not bad for $31.99 per person all you can eat totally worth it. Service was awesome! A big loud more of a younger person place probably that's why 4 stars.
google avatar

Terri A.

Yelp
This time around at Shiku I had the Dragon Roll and Salmon Sashimi and they were both phenomenal. As usual the Sashimi was fresh and had that notable rich buttery taste that keeps drawing me back. The Dragon Roll was new to me and I was intrigued by the detectable flavors. The "Soaring Cloud" Sake was fruity and delicious. It was a perfect addition to my meal. The service was above and beyond, as usual in my experience at Shiku. On this most recent trip Hana, Jaime, and Toshi made my lunch a memorable and sweet experience. The ambiance at Shiku was once again comfortable and inviting. Overall my experience at Shiku was exceptional.
google avatar

Yelp
Drove from LA to La Jolla and decided to have sushi here and was not disappointed the fish was fresh and the non rice rolls were some of the best I've tried. Great customer service as well. Out waitress was very attentive.
google avatar

Yelp
The sushi and atmosphere were both okay, but neither was spectacular. Not worth the extra cost of this place. Our server was attentive, but we didn't receive one specialty roll that we ordered even after our server reminded the sushi chefs. Octopus sushi was large, unscored, ungarnished -- almost too tough to chew. Sushi for 3, with one large hot sake was nearly $200.
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
So had to try sushi while in LA Jolla. If I had done so earlier in my trip, I may have eaten here every day. Service was fast, but everything was well done. The ingredients clearly top notch. And they have rice free rolls like I've never seen before that don't make me miss the rice. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I recently visited Shiku Sushi, and it was an excellent sushi experience overall! The restaurant has a cozy, modern vibe with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. For 6 pieces of a California roll was 5 dollars on happy hour.it just only hard to park.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
This place was amazing! The food was fresh and the service was fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone. The ginger was very fresh. Great atmosphere and the restaurant was very clean.

Yelp
This place was a pleasant surprise! I haven't been very impressed by sushi in this town so far, but I really liked our dinner here tonight. Shiku's location is great- very close to the water. We were walking around the cove and stopped in here because we were craving sushi. It's small- a sushi bar and maybe 5 tables inside, and 5 or so outside too. There were heaters on either side of our table which kept us toasty, even though it was a really chilly out. We started with the fried chicken, which was as a good size for the price. It was tasty, and spicy- it had a sauce drizzled on it that was similar to a spicy, Korean fried chicken sauce I'd say. It could have been a bit more crispy, but the taste was great. We ordered two rolls, the hunny and the prospect. Both of them tasted very fresh. The hunny was our favorite. They're a bit pricey for the size, but it was nice to get some good quality fish. Both servers were super sweet and personable. They gave the place a warm vibe. Id definitely recommend checking this place out.

Tanya C.

Yelp
We were surrounded by flies throughout our meal. Constantly swatting them off our food. The restaurant allowed a peddler to come in and sell sweets, going to every table. Very unpleasant.
google avatar

Shirley S.

Yelp
Food quality, menu variety and service is superb. Hot food was quick and tasty. Definitely coming back. Gets busy quickly for lunch.

Quijan C.

Yelp
Great food & expedient service. Wonderful atmosphere & music! 10/10 would recommend to a friend or colleague
google avatar

Trisha C.

Yelp
Went during the weekday for lunch and it wasn't busy. Got seated right away and the food came quickly too after I ordered. I got the Casanova roll and the salmon avocado roll. The Casanova roll is definitely for someone who likes spicy food, avoid if you can't handle spice or don't like cilantro flavors. I personally liked it but when I go back, I'm going to try their other specialty rolls. The salmon avocado roll was standard but the portion size was great for the price. Surprisingly, it was only $8. It was fresh too. My friend had the chicken teriyaki entree and she really liked it. Only thing that wasn't great was the edamame. It wasn't that fresh. Parking can be a bit difficult since it's mainly street parking nearby.

Charis W.

Yelp
I got the Jacky Roll and did not leave disappointed at all! Also love the ambiance of this place.
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
Our family enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food at Shiku. We all tried different rolls and enjoyed the experience. Our waitress was so great and helpful.

Yelp
One of my sisters had never been to SOCAL before, much less to La Jolla, so to kill time in the available hours before the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Snapdragon Stadium, I used my increasing streetwise senses to avoid traffic. Consequently, the chosen street gave us a good view of this restaurant as we drove past. That's the spot! We had premeditated sushi. Parking is, well, you know, a total cluster fuck here, especially as a spring weekend is starting. Sure enough, we landed a spot pretty far away, but it afforded the opportunity to walk on the seawall and visit the snoozing Sea Lions. Eventually, we made our way back to the restaurant and requested to sit inside. The staff were nice and the service was excellent. The food came out at an even pace, which was nice. The table never felt crowded with empty plates. All the rolls were excellent and expertly assembled. The sauces were also unique, not your typical variety. Prices were also reasonable, especially for La Jolla. All-in-all, it was the perfect lunch to prepare for a concert and not feel bloated or stuffed.

Kai M.

Yelp
Fresh, Flavorful Sushi in a Perfect Location Shiku is easily one of the best sushi spots near La Jolla Cove. We had a fantastic meal, enjoying a variety of sashimi and sushi rolls. Every bite was fresh, expertly prepared, and packed with flavor. The tuna nigiri was especially memorable--melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Service was top-notch, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff who made great recommendations. The laid-back yet refined atmosphere made it a great place to relax and enjoy quality sushi. Plus, being so close to the ocean just adds to the experience. If you're in La Jolla and craving excellent sushi, this place is a must-try!
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Food was good, service was good. Was given free (?) miso soup I didn't order. Bill came out and I noticed it was added on and then removed. Thought this was interesting and ran the numbers, it inflates the suggested tips. Seemed weird to me. They got 20% from me, but it was less than their suggested 20%.
google avatar

Kaloni S.

Yelp
I was in the area so decided to check out their happy hour. Parking is always pretty busy in this area, but I found residential parking. The servers were all very friendly and welcoming! The restaurant itself is pretty small, but we got there around 4:15pm and were seated right away. Food review: -Edamame: bland with salt and some undercooked. -Crispy rice: delicious and super flavorful. Loved the tempura, worth a try. -Gyoza: cooked well, soft w/ the right amount of crisp. -Negitoro and Salmon handroll: both delicious and great for $5. I prefer the negitoro over salmon. -The prospect roll: interesting flavors, the oil was a nice touch. Not a fan of the spicy tuna here. If you're in the area, definitely give the happy hour a try. I think other menu items are pretty overpriced for the quality. However, you're also paying for location right by the beach!

Alex S.

Yelp
The real deal - some of best sushi I've had in San Diego. The service was a tad slow albeit it is a holiday extended weekend during the summer, and full tables. But the sushi and tofu bowl were soooo bang on, I didn't care about the slow speed. Love this place!
google avatar

Ximena G.

Yelp
Delicious! Would recommend the Casanova and tuna crispy rice. Service was also very good.
