The 38 Best Restaurants in Tel Aviv | Eater

"Over a decade after opening, chef Sharon Cohen’s bar and restaurant still hits all the right notes: an upbeat vibe, incredibly fresh seafood, and an energetic playlist. This is definitely the place to down shooters and sample the sought-after fish tartare wrapped in avocado, or indulge in caviar and drink to your heart’s content. [$$$]" - Keren Brown

For a city as diverse and interesting as Tel Aviv, the food is good, but not the best. 7/10. Food is the only thing that saves the experience, as the service is unfortunately lacking. My waiter changed three times, and not a single one asked whether everything was okay. The waiter was very pushy with his own recommendations and tried to impose his preferred menu direction, despite the fact that we are well-versed in food.

If service and atmosphere matter to you, this is not the restaurant you’re looking for. We visited during the transition between lunch and dinner service, after confirming in advance that this timing would not be an issue. Despite having a reservation (we arrived 10 min earlier), we were ignored upon arrival, met with poor attitude, and our coats were not offered to be checked. We were then told, while still standing at the bar, that we had only a few minutes to order because the kitchen was closing, contradicting what was communicated when the reservation was made. During the meal, water was never served. When we asked for additional bread to accompany the food, we were told there was no bread left. Once our wine bottle was finished, no one checked in or offered another drink. The restaurant was largely empty, yet later we were told we would need to leave by a fixed time. The atmosphere was unprofessional: staff were loud, and at one point an employee shouted a profanity at another employee within earshot of guests. We asked to speak with a manager. The interaction resulted in a brief apology, the check, she even asked how much we would like to leave for service, and a promise of follow-up that never occurred. The food itself was good. However, in a chef restaurant, service and atmosphere are part of the experience. On those fronts, this restaurant falls far short.

We had a great experience yesterday evening. Our waitress Marielle was super friendly and gave very good recommendations. The plates were delicious and arrived very quickly. Just be aware that the plates are small and very expensive. The baby corn plate was ridiculously expensive for two tiny corn on the cob.

Arrogant and rude reception. Waiter struggled with English. Pasta was clumped up. Focaccia and the starter were very good. We had a nice evening but they surely didn’t make it easy for us. At that price I expect more.

Best lamb bruschetta, best whole fish, best shrimp, best food I've ever had in my life. Just wow wow wow . My son has celiacs and they were so careful to tell us what was gluten free.

I visited this restaurant last week for my brother’s birthday, after hearing many great reviews. I had been here once before shortly after the reopening and was disappointed with the service, but I was assured that things had improved significantly. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be even more frustrating. We arrived at 19:30, were seated, and ordered cocktails and food shortly after. My sister’s boyfriend arrived a bit later and ordered his cocktail around 19:50 - which he didn’t receive until long after we had finished ours. The first small appetizer bites arrived at 20:00, and our cocktails at 20:10 (again, except for the missing cocktail). The next appetizers came only at 20:45 - more than an hour after we sat down - and throughout that entire time, no one addressed the missing drink. After that, the pacing of the dishes was slow but manageable. We finished the last main course at 21:45, and this is where the service completely fell apart. We waited 15 minutes just to get dessert menus, and then another 30 minutes trying to get our waiter’s attention. Repeated attempts to ask other staff for help were met with either being ignored or told that only our waiter could serve us. By the time our waiter finally showed up at 22:30, we were already frustrated - my brother even had to delay plans with friends. At 22:45, another waiter noticed how upset we were and called the manager. The manager apologized and offered the desserts on the house if we waited 10 more minutes. We agreed… but again, nothing happened. At 22:55, after still being ignored, my brother went searching for the manager to cancel everything and ask for the bill. Even then, we had to wait nearly 10 more minutes to receive it, and I had to track down the manager again to correct mistakes. We finally left at 23:10 - exhausted, frustrated, and honestly shocked. All of this happened in one of the most expensive and supposedly luxurious restaurants in Tel Aviv. Yet throughout the entire evening, our plates were never changed, napkins were never refreshed, wine glasses weren't filled, and not once did our waiter ask whether we enjoyed the food. In a decade of dining out, this was the first time in my life I left a 0% service tip - and it was fully deserved. The manager took my brother’s phone number and promised to call to arrange a corrective experience. As of today, we are still waiting. For a restaurant that markets itself as a high-end dining destination, this level of service is simply unacceptable. I truly hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary changes, because right now the experience is nowhere near the standard they claim to offer.

Definitely a 5 star. Everything, from the service, to how welcoming the staff were. And than to the food! We didn’t eat any of the meats as the place is known for its sea food. Everything was perfection. The seasoning! Only thing that was good and not great - was the creme brûlée. But it was still pretty good.

Exceptional meal. Ordered the prix fixe dinner for 2, with one of the best fresh excellently prepared fish, sea bream, I think, and house bread with 2 terrific dips, tomato and cilantro. Good wine menu and knowledgeable and helpful sommelier. Good service. Happening, full space with good vibes. Definitely top tier status.
