Sister location to Fresno’s longtime favorite, this independent AYCE spot keeps the sizzle going with brisket, spicy pork, tofu soup, and shaved ice for dessert. Frequently cited by locals as the area’s other full tabletop K‑BBQ option.

It's very expensive, for 2 people I spent $90. That's for all you can eat and drinks and ice cream. We both got water which was $1 each and the "refill" was another dollar. That was my main shortcoming of this. Bottle water instead of free water. It was good food but my partner said the ones with spice just have hot sauce on top of them, so they taste similar to the ones without sauce and was almost pointless to get.

This is the first time I have ever had Korea BBQ and I was not to impressed . The all you can eat is great and they keep bringing more food for you to grill however as this was our first time the staff was not very helpful in explaining how se would do this . They gave us a ton of samples . I will have to visit another Korean BBq place to give this place a true rating. I was not very impressed with the bathrooms . Will I try it again ? Yes after I try a bother place first .

I've been in this town for 10 years, I've been aware of this kBBQ for a while and everyone just told me it was just ok so I didn't really feel like going, but finally a week ago I was so curious I decided to go and I really enjoyed it, I have tried many kkbqs in many many different places and I give this one 5 star because personally it satisfies the kkbq cravings I have enough, I personally like lunch more as it is cheaper and the only meat I get here is brisket and bulgogi, and it's all I need, the potato salad, the rice and the soup is good, but for dinner I think the flavor of the la marinated short rib and the rib eye is good , green tea ice cream is also very good Summarized: it satisfies my kBBQ craving without going out of town, lunch time is ideal

Google
Familiarize yourself with the marinated meats you are about to cook before you get here. I’ve seen some pretty bad reviews without good reason. Spent $80 before tip for all you can eat for 2. Just like any other all you can eat, you get there hungry! (Duh) The marinated meats were great and the rice was fresh! The place could use remodeling all around. Only complaint is that they turn the fire on the grill up too high which is not necessary. Low/medium heat is preferred to cook thoroughly and sear. Grill grate is swapped often for a clean cooking experience. 3.8 of 5 overall! 👏🏼

Google
It was great our doctor took the office out for dinner and it was my first time going I recommend it. Everyone should have this experience

Google
The pork belly was so disappointing it was a thin piece of meat with no flavor at all ! It was so smoky inside and the service was not the best. I would not recommend.

Google
This place nickel and dimes you on everything. 4% charge (OF YOUR TOTAL BILL) if you use credit/debit card and they don’t even give you free water. $1 a bottle for a Kirkland water bottle. Definitely a disappointing experience. Poor ventilation and average quality of food made this experience even worse. Avoid if you can.

Yelp
Food 8/10 The meat selection here is good but not great. Service 9/10 The server that was assigned to our table was really nice and fast in bringing out items. Ambiance 8/10 The place is pretty spacious and the tables are spread out but some of the foam on the benches in the booth need a little remodeling because they were a little deflated and you could feel the hard wood underneath.

Yelp
Avoid this place at all cost!! Don't make the same mistake. I did. This place is filthy. It explains why half of the lights in the restaurant are off because nobody comes here. They don't offer tap water and make you purchase bottled water. I don't even drink bottled water at home and waste plastic water bottles. They force you to order the dinner menu as that's the only thing available but all of the premium options aren't available? So basically you're limited to the lunch menu but paying dinner prices which is almost double the cost. I asked if the price was still the same given all the premium options were not available. And of course there's no discount. When I ordered the dinner menu, they failed to mention that half of the menu was not available. Especially the more premium options. And by that time, it was too late to change our minds since we got a round of food. Also, if you enjoy Korean food with a Spritz of fabuloso, definitely come towards the end of the day. It's a great way to ruin your appetite and abruptly end your meal. I was looking for a good option to enjoy some kalbi without the hassle of making it at home. Unfortunately... This isn't the place. Are there any other options in the area?

Yelp
First time at this spot. I have had Korean BBQ at other spots before. This spot does not have a large selection of meats. Not many sides or veggies to pair with the food. We were a party of 6. Did not set enough utensils for 6. Service was not good. Had to ask for items multiple times before getting it. Super smoky inside. Hood range did not seem to function well. Bathrooms were unsanitary. There was water all over in the female bathroom. It looked like their toilets were leaking. Toilets were not flushed. No seat covers. Food was okay. The spicy meats were not spicy. The tofu soup was spicy even though it was not labeled as spicy. I did not try it but my spouse got it and has a pretty high tolerance for spice. We tried almost all the meats except for the pork bellies and the spicy pork bulgogi, and seafoods. The kids liked the LA marinated short ribs the most. My daughter ordered shaved ice and asked about how big a small is compared to the large. Waitress said it's small and used her hands to show an approximate size which was an individual size. The shaved ice was an 8 inch bowl which was enough to share with the whole family. If my daughter had known it was that big, she wouldn't have ordered it. Ice cream macarons were also sold but not on the menu. They charge a 4% processing fee for debit and credit card. Will not be coming back to this spot.

Yelp
This was our first time at this particular restaurant and we were not disappointed. At first we weren't sure how this worked but the server was very helpful and we caught on fast. The spot wasn't empty but wasn't overcrowded. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves

Yelp
Water bottle is $1 which is ridiculous. The ventilation is so bad even though the waitress claims it is on. The food is not good. After spending $800 for a large party of 16 people, I expected more. If I could rate zero stars I would have.

Yelp
Don't come here! This is the worst place I've ever been. The menu is so limited and the food tastes terrible. Honestly, it's not worth the money at all. The only good thing is that the staff were polite and tried their best, but even that couldn't save the experience. I came here hoping to enjoy some good BBQ, but I left really disappointed. If you really want BBQ, trust me, go somewhere else. This place is not it.

Yelp
We are new to Korean BBQ and found this place quite pleasant. Let's take this step by step discussing in detail. Salad bar area: the only items I grabbed were fresh onions, zucchini and garlic to grill with the meat, the cucumbers (which were super salty and I am a heavy handed salt user) and the cold noodle dish which was ok. I regret not going back and trying the other stuff. My daughter loved the kimchi! The meat portions were very generous in comparison to other places I have been to. Other Korean BBQ restaurant's that we have been to only had two flavored meat options. This place served the most seasoned meat selection that we have seen. We tried all meats on the lunch menu and the squid was very fresh tasting. My only complaint was I am a spicy person and there was no option to add spice other than jalapeño, some sort of chile oil or sriracha would have been delicious. It was definitely my fault for not asking for any of it is something they do have. Other than that everything tasted great. SMALL PORTIONS ARE AN OPTION... The "sauce plate": the white sesame oil had a really good flavor and it's my favorite thing to add to rice w salt and pepper. The other liquid was slightly sweet and went really well with some of the unflavored meats! Silken egg was super just a beautifully lucious texture and it was really enjoyed. At home I dress it up a little more, but this was good. Tofu soup: I had one piece of tofu in my tofu soup and about a half cup of mushrooms. I wish there was a little more balance, but other wise it was good. Service: We had a young female server who was very attentive, explained everything well, and was prompt with items needed. Her service was well appreciated. Grill itself: I asked to turn the heat up and the server promptly did. Our grills were replaced often and without us asking her to. Cleanliness: the restaurant was very clean. WOULD WE RETURN? Absolutely!!

Yelp
As good as it can be for Fresno! The inside is generally pretty clean and the service is pretty good every time I go. They have separate lunch and dinner items + prices. However, on the weekends, you just pay the dinner price and have access to the dinner items. $33 per person. It is important to keep in mind that you also have to pay for drinks, even if it's water! They only provide bottles of water, so you do have to pay a $1 for water with no free refills which is a bummer. They have a variety of banchan (side dishes) they offer (i.e. radish kimichi, cabbage kimchi, cucumber kimchi, japchae, and korean potato salad, etc.) however, they do come in small styrofoam cups. While they are small, they are unlimited and the servers are also willing to bring extra! Additionally, they offer sides such as: tofu soup, steamed egg, and steamed rice! All of which are unlimited as well! Their tofu soup is literally to die for. I dream about that soup. It's the perfect spice level for me and is a great pairing for the meal. I easily put away two of these during my Shila outings. They also provide a complimentary pajeon at the start of the meal which is yummy. You can also get extra of those if you ask nicely. As for the meat, I think they offer a great selection. They have all your kbbq classics! You can pick 3 meats at a time and they check in every so often to ask if you want another round. Note: if you don't finish all your meat, you do have to pay an extra cost! I haven't been to other korean bbq places outside of Fresno, so for me, this place is pretty good! Since this place is pricy, it's even more incentive to eat your weight and food to get your money's worth tbh. I enjoy my time here and it's always such a fun experience when I come here with friends or family.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of kbbq places in my life but man by far is this one the worst one I've been to. It used to be better when it first opened but now that I've come back to try it again, it's not good at all. First they didn't let us sit even though more than half of our party was there. It was a completely empty restaurant when we got there. I understand why. Asked for water and they gave us each one water bottle. They charge you $1 for each bottle of water, so you're better off just bringing your own. Which is ridiculous. What kind of restaurant doesn't just give free water? This is my first time being charged for water. The bottle was cold but didn't even bother to bring cups of ice or anything. The meats itself just weren't good at all. You can definitely taste the low quality of meat they used. The marinade and flavor of the bulgogi was just not good. The bonchon was also not fresh at all. They came in pre made containers that tasted like things were sitting in the fridge for a few days. Im pretty sure the cucumber went bad and yet they still gave it to us. Everything else was mediocre. Service was subpar, didn't really check on us but still had to do automatic 18% gratuity because I had more than 6 in our party. Understand why this place is so low rated, it's just not good at all. The ventilation in there wasn't good either, it was smokey for the whole night and looking around it was just my party and 2 other tables. Definitely will Not be coming back.

Yelp
A friend recommended Shila as a good option for KBBQ. I visited as a group of 5 on a weekday for dinner and was seated right away. They only take reservations for parties greater than 10 people. For dinner, price is $35 per person. The selection and quality of meats is great. You can get refills of ban chan. The service was attentive. They changed our grills frequently without us needing to request. Things that could be improved upon: The restaurant was incredibly smoky. It didn't seem like any of the exhaust fans were on. Ban chan was served in small styrofoam containers. Each person is charged for a water bottle. They give you a cup filled with ice. These two seem like holdovers from the pandemic. I find the use of styrofoam containers wasteful when small bowls could be used.

Yelp
I was going to give it a 21/2 star but can't seem to be generous enough for this restaurant. One big problem I had was the lack of customer service we got at this restaurant. I had to wave for another waiter to get any type of service. When our waiter did come by to drop off our order taken by the other waiter. Our waiter would remind us that she is busy with her other customers. So are we not part of her customer? Ahaha I don't know how to feel at this point to finish our dinner or walk out ahaha of course we did stay to finish our dinner before heading back a 3 1/2 hr drive home. Let's get to the food part, cheap meat, octopus was the only highlight of the night! I didn't care for their cheap layout of the restaurant so ambiance was a big mehhhh I will never ever return to this restaurant even if I was in town and craving for an AYCE Kbbq. Oh oh and as a Kbbq snob, I have to have my Ssamjang, jalapeño, garlic, and any spicy sauce. Our poor waiter didn't know what Ssamnjang was, I'm beginning to think this is a Chinese owner and not a Korean owner. Please if anyone know the owner pass this along, they need to have better Banchang "side dish" and Ssamjang! TIA!

Branden V.

Yelp
Male Restroom was unsanitary. Grease traps weren't clean. Looked like it wasn't clean for maybe two days . Grills were only cleaned on one side. Bottom of the grill was not clean. You can see threw the holes. The side in my opinion should be labeled with time and date it was packed in the white bowls. Meat was decent quality. Overall 2.5 stars to me
google avatar

Jazzie S.

Yelp
Food is good. Workers are attentive. Hard to rate a place where you have to cook for yourself, aside from the quality of food!

Kathyrn L.

Yelp
Pre-Covid, I used to love this restaurant. Not so much anymore. I had hoped they would bring back serving their Bonchon in dishes instead of Styrofoam, but they have not. Also, if you would like to be a single at Sheila's, forget it, your business is not wanted. If you would like a glass of tapwater, forget that as well. You have to pay for bottled water or get nothing. They no longer serve salad with your meal the quality of food and service has gone down. Don't look too closely at the ceiling or bathrooms because cleanliness has become an issue. I hope we will get a really good Korean barbecue at some point because currently we do not have one. If I want good Korean barbecue I will have to go to Las Vegas to get it.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
Love this place. Don't get to go often but would totally if I lived closer. Food was great. They are quick to seat our big party, take our order. Food and drinks out within mins. Yes you are going to smell like smoke after, but that's totally part of it. Price is good for all the food you get!
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
If you are charging $35 per person. Have the decency to buy new plates when the old ones get scratched up and have stains. Also, I'm pretty sure those exhaust vents are clogged or not working. Whoever is running this place is not putting in the effort to maintain the facility. Meat quality: USDA choice and below. Sides: definitely over a week old not freshly made radish is soggy. Cucumber is soggy. Kimchi is a mush! Soup is from instant noodle packet! Protip: Vegetables are suppose to be crunchy! Service: Acceptable Something is wrong if you need to charge 4% for credit card fee to stay afloat with $35 pp and 18% gratuity. $1 for water and $13 for soju. Fiancé and I can't even get through the first round. The meats are tough, marinade was salty definitely left in too long and the sides are mush! Beyond inedible! Throw out the old food don't serve it to customers!!! The whole place screams health department!!!

Allison Y.

Yelp
Low quality food Portion size and options are awful Quality of meat is not good Not worth $20
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
The place is pretty proactive about getting your orders for the next round of food and refills. The food itself is what you'd expect at a Korean BBQ. The dinner is a bit more pricey than the lunch but that's given that they give you more options. Overall I'd eat here again.
google avatar

Yuji M.

Yelp
Went to shilas for a date with my fiance and we were near the end of our meal and decided to order the tofu mushroom soup and when it had arrived I was mixing it because it was hot and found there was a cockroach in the soup on my tofu! Needless to say this was disgusting and I will never heat here again. The service was awful and the utensils were dirty/ oily when we got them
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
First time having Korean bbq. Neat experience of grilling right on the table. We ordered two meats-big portions so we didn't try anything else. I'd recommend just getting the steamed rice and maybe some cucumbers as sides. They have nice looking ice cream mochi and ice cream sándwich macaroons in the front entrance . We also tried a Korean liquor that was pretty good. I hope they continue to get more customers and invest in a few decor and tableware upgrades and maybe make the temperature a bit cooler inside.

Josefina D.

Yelp
The food was mediocre, no flavor at all. Service was really bad, I had to keep raising my hand like I was in grade school to get service and half the time I was ignored. They kept servicing the new tables and the ones that already had food they completely forgot about. Ambiance was also bad, the smoke from the food is supposed to be ventilated but literally just went to the ceiling and it was disgustingly smoky. On top of that the "TAP" feature wasn't working and that's all I had to pay with. It was just the worst experience ever.
google avatar

Cynthia W.

Yelp
There is no comparison to LA places, but I am told by locals that this is the ONLY choice for KBBQ in the Fresno area. They close at 9:30pm, but they stop taking orders for food at 9. This is very important information, and was a slight issue when we walked in at 8:45. We were greeted by the hostess, who felt like she didn't really want to seat us (although she got progressively nicer as the evening went on). We were asked to move from our first table to another table with a grill that was heating up faster (since this was clearly going to be a quick meal). Before 9, they came by several times to ask what meats we wanted, and we panicked and ordered a LOT. At which point, they relaxed and told us not to rush. And got progressively nicer. Banchan comes in styrofoam containers, which, pro-tip, are perfect unofficial to-go containers (while we didn't have a lot of leftovers, like I said, they wanted us to order all of the things up front, so we couldn't pace ourselves and figure out how much food we actually needed. And like I said, we panicked. As others have said, dinner is $33/person, and if you want water, you have to buy it for $1 a bottle. Curiously, though, they will bring you a glass filled with ice and a lemon, so we averaged 1 bottle for every 2 people. It seems like the water bottle and the styrofoam are holdovers from the pandemic. They also upcharge you for using a card, as others have also pointed out. But they were also nice and did not charge my vegetarian partner full price, which was appreciated (and also appropriate).

Yelp
First time here food was very good quality. Service was great too our waiter was very attentive. Everything was very clean!

Sara B.

Yelp
This was my first time to this particular location. The food was okay. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The real reason why I cannot give it a 4 star rating is because it was REALLY hot inside. With all that heat coming from the grill, you would have expected them to have it much cooler in the restaurant. When we first entered and sat on the bench by the front door, it was already really hot there. I thought that perhaps it was because of the door opening all the time for customers but as we sat down at our table, there was no air flow. I was sweating even before we started cooking our meats. When it's 102 outside and you are paying $28 per person, you expect to at least eat comfortably. I was miserable the entire meal. The short ribs and rib eye were great. Skip the brisket, jumbo shrimp and spicy pork belly. They just weren't really all that tasty. The spicy pork belly was spicy but had no flavor.

Kathy O.

Yelp
What a fun experience. I have been wanting to go to a Korean BBQ restaurant and am excited to have this restaurant in Clovis. The service was great! And there was a wide selection of food to choose from to grill up. We will definitely be back. You can ask for some veggies to grill up and make wraps. I should have taken some pictures but I don't think of it .

Rachel S.

Yelp
Terrible service !! I took my boyfriend out to eat for his birthday. The paper they hung on the wall says your allowed to order 3 protein choices at a time and they only allowed us one at a time ?? I asked why and the lady at the front desk just walked away. Then as we were eating the gentlemen that was our server leaned on the wall in front of us along with the front desk woman just staring at us eat like we were gonna dine and dash. I asked for more rice and when our server came back he put it down on the table harshly ?? I was nice from the beginning so I don't understand how we got off on the wrong foot. Not to mention they didn't ask us how we were doing, I had to keep getting up to ask for napkins, chopsticks, etc.. never again I only went because they had nothing but good reviews. Not to mention all that for 89$ for 2 PEOPLE.

boil o.

Yelp
The meat was mediocre at best, the quality has definitely gone down. They charged me and my friend 80$ for the both of us, they had an insane gratuity tax which added 10$ to the bill. They don't have any water cups so you are forced to buy a beverage. The bathroom was disgusting it was all tagged up, the urinal looked like it had things living in it. I do not recommend this place. Both the price and food were fucking ass. For 80$ this place is trash you are better off going to In n Out.
google avatar

Joe N.

Yelp
I've been here a few times. This is one of my favorite spots to go. The food is so good. The rice is always cooked really well. They also give you seasoning for your food and utensils to use. All of the meat choices are very high in and expensive for such a low price. This is somewhere you can take your man /lady to

Jay M.

Yelp
Highly don't recommend and definitely not going back. First time taking family to experience Korean BBQ. I have it all the time in the Bay Area and LA area where they never disappoint. I wanted them to try the side dishes. First I notice and never seen before they come out in Styrofoam cups. All forks just dumped on table like wtf. All scattered. So first impression was not great. I usually eat it all myself couldn't even eat any of it. Kimchee had no flavor. Ordered all you can eat. For 3 of us they bring 3 short ribs. wtf ??All fatty no meat. Meat and seafood didn't Seem fresh or decent quality. So disappointing compared to all the other Korean bbq places I been. Doubt my family would ever want Koran bbq again. I would never go back so disappointed I really wanted to like it
google avatar

Cecilia S.

Yelp
My friends and I loved our Korean BBQ experience here. The meat they serve is nice quality, not too fatty and they provide scissors if you want to cut it any further. When you sit down there's a Korean pancake for the table and dishes of oil. They get the grill heated for you and start taking your orders for drinks and meats. They also provide veggies to grill but they don't have what they serve listed anywhere so you have to sort of ask and see. They replace the grill at your convenience so you don't have to worry about cross-contamination, char, etc. My only gripe is that THEY CHARGE FOR WATER! Had I known that prior to coming, I would've brought my own water because you're sitting there eating salty meat and want to wash it down and are being charged every time you run out. I can't speak on the soda because we don't drink soda so we didn't order any. I requested tap water and they told me no lol so there's that. The water is bottled. Nice Korean BBQ experience but bring your own water if you don't want to be charged per bottle you drink/order.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Don't even bother coming here, it's a rip off. Poor quality of meats and sides. The food served was practically inedible. If you want Korean food, go to Bulldoc or buy the meat/pre-made sides at the store! Came here for the 1st time and was excited to try this place. But unfortunately was very disappointed and unsatisfied, and won't be returning. They also have a very small meat selection. The only good meat choice was the beef brisket, and that's probably because it's frozen. The rest of the meat options were old. Galbi is one of my favorites but couldn't even enjoy that as it was old and chewy. I ended up spitting it out. Ordered the tofu soup but even that was a disappointment as it is not the true tofu soup (soondubu). The broth is different, received 1 piece of tofu and several mushrooms. The banchan (sides) were terrible too. I have never seen or eaten brown kimchi before today, and I had to spit that out too. The japchae was hard. The pickle cucumber was a nasty too. So I didn't bother trying the other 2 sides. Also, they only offer rice and/or lettuce. For an AYCE KBBQ, it's not worth the price. They try to make money so they up-charge for everything from water to using your card. They charge the highest gratuity percentage automatically as well, even though their services do not match. My daughter was charged as an adult so they could make extra money because they have an inaccurate height measurement that indicates she's 5'3-5'5, but at the doctors she's 4'10. Even if I showed recent medical records of her height, there was no point because they want their money and they wanted it now.

Yelp
I was surprised the place was open during COVID. But I enjoyed the experience. It's still the same as before - tasty meats and great service. Tables were filled, so there wasn't any social distancing but I didn't really care cause I was hungry lol. COVID Differences: - Temperature check at the door & paper menus. - Sides and sauces are giving in to-go containers. - Water bottles are 50¢, no more free water. No refills either, 50¢ each. THEY DIDNT HAVE JAPCHAE! I was so bummed, since it was my favorite side dish. Same with the pancake :( I'm glad they reopened, since I love coming to both locations. Hope they work on the social distancing on tables though.

Yelp
Friends told me that this Clovis location was better than the Fresno one, so I came with high expectations. To my shock, it wasn't. In fact, this Clovis one was way worst... also not to say that the Fresno one was any better. The meat ran dry and was not well-marinated. Water cost $1 for a bottle -- you can't order a glass. There's no salad bar for the sides, you had to ask for them to come in styrofoam cups and they were all in small portions. I know Korean BBQ is expensive, but the restaurant could've at least didn't make it so obviously clear that they were ripping me off on everything.
google avatar

Yelp
If you've ever been to GEN Korean BBQ in LA or the Bay Area, you'll be extremely disappointed here. Shila is more expensive ($33 for dinner vs $28 at GEN) and has fewer options. Very few side options available besides rice, soup, salad, and veggies, no noodle based sides, kimchi, or anything like that. What really annoyed me was that they won't give you a glass of water for free, you have to pay $1 for a bottle of Kirkland brand water. Yet they serve fountain soda, so that's clear it's just a way to uncharge people. Also a 4% surcharge if you pay with card instead of cash. Really dirty and grimy inside too, the whole place needs a deep cleaning. On the positive side, our server was nice and stopped by often. You can start off with three meats and then order more as often as you want. We never had to wait long after ordering for more meats to come. They were good about changing the grill when it got too burned. It satisfied my craving for KBBQ but I probably won't be back.

Yelp
Covid-era, June 2020. What?! Restaurant open? It seems that those are a bygone idea in the Bay Area. Unequivocally, we said yea to eating out after a long day competing in a large pistol competition held nearby. PPE is a requirement when entering the restaurant, only safely removing it once seated in your table. The taste of the meat seem soo much better after not eating out for a few months. But in all fairness, Shila Korean BBQ can boast its taste to any good Korean Bbq in the bay. Its banchan side dishes were good, a prelude to a good meal coming fourth. The staple and my favorite, beef brisket was excellent as always. Pork belly, marinated pork, shrimp were good too. We left Shila Koran BBQ absolutely full and satisfied. This restaurant will be on our list for next year's competition.

Yelp
OMG never been to a restaurant this bad. We should have known as soon as we walked in as there were ZERO customers in there. It smells like a mixture of old grease and pine sol cleaning solution. So weekend pricing is $33!!! All day. Ridiculous. The grill was dirty and had black grease bubbles coming up from underneath. I asked for a new grill and the owner lady started scraping off residue from their "clean" pile of grills. YIKES!!! They don't have water to serve you and instead charge you $1 each for Kirkland bottled water. We walked out before starting to eat. DO NOT recommend whatsoever. Spare yourself and drive to LA for decent Korean bbq.

Yelp
The food and the service was great, our server was very attentive to us and the food was awesome, the macaroon ice cream was great also (mango). I've been here several times and it never misses. I prefer to come to this Korean BBQ spot over any Korean BBQ spot in bakersfield.

Yelp
So, let me start by saying the food is okay. If you've had Korean bbq in other places in California or even Bellevue, WA ... there are definitely better places. However, the service that my fiancé and I had when we were there was amazing. My fiancé is vegetarian and he went as a favor to me. Our server saw him only eating vegetables and decided to not charge full price for dinner and surprised us. It was very kind of him. I definitely wouldn't recommend the place with a vegetarian in the party at all because there are no options for them. The ambiance could use some work because the place smells so heavily of smoke and burning meat. Their ventilation sucks. They also don't oil their grills so it's very easy to burn the food. I like my beef more rare so I was fine but it definitely smoked more than I would have liked. For the price, I thought it was pretty good. I'm the type of girl who will pay 90 dollars for Korean bbq... and that's for only two people. I can eat the serving for two by myself. I know a lot of people think 30 dollars all you can eat is steep but in my opinion it's really not bad at all.

Yelp
The food was good, maybe I'm just being nit-picky, but I asked for a glass of water and you can only order bottled water, they said they're unable to provide tap water. I guess a way around this would be ordering hot water with a side of ice. Ice cream/desserts are also not included with your meal. I asked for lettuce but was literally still frozen and ice stuck all over it.

Yelp
Definitely not as impressed with this place as I'd hoped to be. The food was fine, but the service was lacking. I came in with a group of friends and the menu wasn't explained to us at all. When we tried to order our meats, everyone shared a few suggestions to which we were met with, "You only get three." That's cool, but also information that should've been shared up front. In addition to the limited information we received, for the size of our group, we were given enough sides for maybe half of our group. And again, no explanation as to what we were given... these tiny styrofoam bowls were dropped off and our server walked away. It was over $30 per person and we all left underwhelmed. Maybe we went in with too high expectations, but unfortunately, we have no desire to return.

Yelp
The place was a little dirty. Especially in the bathrooms. They charge an extra 4% on credit card transactions. The meat isn't great quality. Lots of fat and gristle. Then they charge an extra 5 per person if any meat is left. There wasn't a lot but if they would have questioned it I would have shown them the stuff I set to the side that wasn't edible. The seasonings weren't that great and they only give salt, pepper, sesame oil and teriyaki that is thin and watery on the side. Side dishes came to table in very small amounts in styrofoam except for the rice came in a little tiny bowl. The server however was great kept coming back and the other man who kept coming to clean the grill between refills. Staff was great which is why I left the 3rd star. It isn't somewhere I would come back to but it wasn't horrible either.

Yelp
Not a good variety of sides. Food didn't have a great taste. I thought it was soo expensive. $190 for only 4 people. Wow, for that kind of money go somewhere tastier where you can be served and food is cooked for you.

Yelp
Our grill was smoking black burned and the waitress was standing there looking at our table the whole time without even changing the grill. She kept staring at our table the whole time made us felt so uncomfortable.

Yelp
O--Oh Sheila. Oh oh oh, oh Sheila. Prob half of you wouldn't know that song bc it's from back in the days but that's what I think of when I see the name of this place. If they didn't put the word "Korean" in the name, I would think it's an Indian place. It's all AYCE place in Fresno where you can enjoy Korean BBQ in the 559. Not a huge population of Koreans in Fresno so this diversity from the normal selection of fast foods in the valley is quite refreshing. For about $13 (weekdays only) you can get a big selection of meats, banchan, steamed egg, side salad, and even tofu soup if you have about 90 minutes to spare since you have to cook the food yourself. Don't come in here if you are hungry or short on time for a meal. For a couple bucks more you can upgrade to include shrimp, octopus, and squid with your choices of meats. Keep in mind that everyone in the party needs to be at the same level to discourage sharing so if you want the upgrade, everyone needs to pay that $15. I find everything to be pretty good. I especially liked the kimchi. I say this place is worth checking out and a good place to eat, socialize, and to catch up since the atmosphere is pretty inviting. The place is pretty nice, service was great, and you won't find a better deal for under $15 for lunch.

Yelp
The service is terrible, the food is even worse than the service. And the staff literally stands over you and watches you eat. It was a very unpleasant experience.

Yelp
It's apparent that this restaurant is struggling to keep its doors open and is doing the all of the wrong things to stay afloat. We used to frequent this restaurant previously and the entire experience has gone down hill. They used to have actual menus for ordering, they served cups of water and allowed you to order different drinks without charging extra, they also used actual dishes for all of their sides. The overall ambiance was positive. We had dinner there tonight and we will not be returning EVER. Similar to the other reviews, sides were served in styrofoam cups, you could only get bottled water for $1, and you could only get refills if you order the exact same drink. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea and asked for a refill of raspberry iced tea, and I was told I'd be charged for a new drink. I was SUPER confused, then she explained you can't change your drink or type of soda, you can only order the same exact drink for refills. Needless to say, I don't see this restaurant lasting much longer as these changes in service will continue to negatively impact their business. They are trying to charge upscale prices for a cheap, low budget experience.

Yelp
Haven't been to this shila since pre-covid, so we Decided to go back since I live closer to Clovis now and it was alright. Just from pulling up in the parking lot, it looked closed, no blinking open sign or anything, had to walk up and figure out if they were still in business or not lol. The food was alright, not much options to choose from for the lunch menu, so the bf and I just opted for the usual (brisket, bulgolgi, short ribs). I asked for veggies, and when they brought out the romaine lettuce, it had frost bite, and some end pieces were rotting already. I didn't want to be too picky so I just broke those pieces off and left it on the side lol. For the banchan, it was alright. They don't really give you much, but it was just for 2 ppl so it was barely enough since the bf didn't really eat them. All he mainly eats is the kimchi, but that didn't taste that good either; it had a brown discoloration and didn't taste good. Kimchi is supposed to have a bright redness to it, slightly tart/crunchy/spicy. The bf had to add salt to give it some flavor lol. Overall the service was really good, the male server was very attentive and nice; made sure our grill was switched and came to us once he saw our grill was empty. Would I go back? Probably not. I'll make the drive across town and go to Kaya kbbq restaurant instead.

Yelp
Food quality is good and good seasoning but the way they bring out your sides, noodles, potato salad, cucumbers etc. Are in styrofoam cups with lids. Not a good look and unappetizing spread on table. Service is there if you ask and food requests are promptly brought out. Not a comfortable place for dining experience. It's like roughing it camp out style. If you want water, that'll cost you $1. and only comes in a bottle. No free iced water with lemon here. The hostess isn't friendly either. Poor ambiance and small plates to eat from. Again, not a good experience and won't ever recommend. Not returning and big disappointment!

Yelp
I don't understand all the negative reviews because the place was packed everyone seemed happy and the servers were wearing masks and they kept coming to us so as far as I'm concerned the service was excellent they traded out the grill after each tray of meat was served the marinated Bulgogi beef brisket and short ribs were delicious we were surprised however they charge for water bottles they don't have tap water and I don't understand why you can't take home leftover meat. Overall it was a great experience it was fun to cook your own food ps-going out to dinner is expensive now so I don't see that as a legitimate complaint anywhere you go out to eat. Ce la Vie !!!!!
