Shiloh Regional Park is a peaceful escape tucked into the rolling hills of Windsor. It’s a perfect spot for hiking, trail running, or just spending time in nature, with a mix of oak woodlands, open meadows, and beautiful vineyard views. The park has two main hiking sides, each offering a different experience. The trail near the restrooms is steeper with a solid incline—ideal if you want a leg workout. The other side that has the fenced in gazebo and water storage tank has a mix of gentle ups and downs and some flatter areas, perfect for a more relaxed hike. Many of the trails connect to each other, so you can create a full loop or choose a shorter route for a quick workout. Parking is plentiful at the entrance including handicapped parking and wheelchair accessability. Some of the trails may be too inclined for wheelchair access but there's easier ones that can work! A note: some people park along the road to avoid the $7 day-use fee, but if you can, pay for day use or consider a parks pass. The lot includes clean restrooms, picnic tables, and even a bocce ball court. Dogs are welcome on leash. Bring plenty of water, especially in summer, since there aren’t fountains along the trails. The trails are well-maintained. Sunrise and sunset hikes are magical and it’s one of my favorite ways to enjoy the quiet beauty of the area. Overall, Shiloh Regional Park is scenic, versatile, and accessible—a hidden gem in Windsor, 15 min out of Santa Rosa. To the beautiful people of Sonoma County and visitors abroad, whether you’re looking for a challenging workout, a place to go horseback riding or a peaceful picnic in nature, this park delivers.

Absolutely gorgeous hikes/walks. The trails can be a bit steep, so be prepared! We are pretty out of shape but managed just fine. Saw many bird species, the highlights being: ruby-crowned kinglet, golden-crowned kinglet, chestnut-backed chickadee, great horned owl. Very clean trails and well maintained park overall. The views didn't disappoint! I will say we did get lost at the end of our hike and ended up in a cemetery. It was beautiful but pretty crazy to have found it. We had to walk the road to get back to the main parking lot after that.

The Creekside trail is a pleasant shady 1.3 mile walk, moderately uphill from the parking lot. Saw a barred owl and three deer.

Can’t believe it took me so long to give Shiloh Park a visit. Everything about it is beautiful! It offers several variety of landscapes, such as dry lands & green forests. There are around 6-8 trails so make sure you’re familiar with the map before entering, even if, there are markers around the map in case you get lost. You’ll see a variety of wildlife around the park. Good exercise overall.

NO DOGS ALLOWED. Please be respectful of this! It is in place to protect the local wildlife and plant life. Great place to hike for various difficulties and elevations. Please be respectful of the no dogs allowed. Trails move through oak woodland dominated forests, up to an open grassland area, and over switchbacks on a ridge. There is a creek to stroll by and a pond for some bird watching. Viewed many different species of birds. There is a picnic area when parking. This hike is paid parking. Great place for botanizing, bird watching, and taking in the views of our local ecosystems.

Shilo Park has a number of trails and you loop some together for a longer hike. Keep in mind that many of the trails are steep and it can get hot during the summer. So go prepared for a cardio workout and stay hydrated. Also, most trails are open to hikers, cyclists, and horseback riders. Yield trail space appropriately. There's plenty of parking at the entrance. But some people avoid the entrance fee and park along the road. If you can afford it, please pay for day-use or get a seasonal pass. Restrooms, water, and a picnic area are at the main entrance. There's also a nice shaded picnic spot deeper into the park.
