I am Japanese and me and my family were very satisfied with our food. (Beef bowl and Chicken-egg bowl) It was cooked with passion and care, served hot. Amount was also not too big, but also not small, just right. We would love to visit again.

Wow, the katsu was uniquely tasty! A new kind of batter I’ve ever tried which is really light and not oily at all. Good quality food overall- the desserts were superb! All the side dishes are great.

Had high expectation seeing the overwhelming reviews and photos so was a little bit below my 5 star rating. The slow cooked pork fatback was definitely special and juicy, but to me it lacks some fragrance (the dipping sauce and sesame kind of made up for it). I like the beef curry rice but honestly 6 small beef cubes are not very generous… Overall tasty but wish it could worth more!

I was really pleased to find authentic, thick Japanese donkatsu in New York. However, from my personal perspective, there were a couple of drawbacks. The batter was a bit oily for my taste, and towards the end of the meal, there was a slight pork odor, though it wasn’t too overwhelming. Overall, it was a good experience, but there’s room for improvement.

A perfect lunch. If I could cook pork only one way, this would be the way I would cook it. Simply perfection. Let’s start with the food. The pork was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. Each bite was tender and juicy, full of texture and flavor. Even the small dishes that was served was delicious, they did not leave any details out. The service? Just wow. Patient but also attentive. I tend to drink a lot of water and they refill my glass like 5 times. And when we left, the host even walked in front of us to hold open the door as we were leaving. The venue was kept impeccably clean. And pretty. I had an amazing experience and would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Excellent Japanese restaurant with minimal aesthetics and great food. The meat is yummy and everything we tried was excellent. A bit pricey but not if you compare it to other similar Tonkatsu restaurants in NYC is actually not bad. Definitely worth trying if you like this style of cuisine.

I recommend this new-ish katsu place in Hell's Kitchen. The pork retains a pink-ish hue from being slow-cooked for many (12?) hours. The batter is also incredibly light, more reminiscent of a Japanese katsu than one in America - just very finely executed! It wasn't particularly crowded when I went; I hope it stays in business! 1. Tonkatsu Bento (Fatback) 8 oz., 180 gm. Corn fed pork Fatback served with shredded cabbage, tomato, cucumber, White rice and pickles $34 2. Fried-Dip Eggplant (With a seaweed/bonito dashi-broth and garnished with ginger) $7 3. Karaage (Deep-fried Japanese fried chicken) $15 4. Addictive Spicy Cucumber (Cucumber with spicy chili beans and sesame-oil sauce, garnished with shredded red pepper) $7

This establishment likely stands as the premier destination on the East Coast of the United States for savoring authentic Japanese Pork Cutlets. Their unique approach involves slow-frying at a low temperature for an impressive 12 hours, resulting in remarkably succulent and tender cutlets, all while maintaining stringent infection control standards. It's a remarkable testament to their dedication to authenticity that Japanese is frequently spoken among the patrons. While the prices may not be budget-friendly, I firmly believe it's a worthwhile investment in a truly exceptional culinary experience.
