My fav buffet in Taipei.. Ok so there is no salmon or tuna sashimi anymore but for the price $682 NTD inc 10% service charge for Afternoon Tea 2:30-4:30pm on a weekday.. You can't beat it. Make a booking online in advance... Food is still top quality and fresh.. Service is second to none, great atmosphere... Come during this time and your expectations will be met. In Australia this would cost more than double the price without the service...

Had the afternoon tea on a weekday and quite enjoyed the food. First time I've come across a buffet with so little selections but it's also the first i was able to try all the dishes i want and since the quality was high i don't really mind. 2hrs was just about enough for me and i enjoyed the view from my window seat. Just a few negatives, about 1hr into the service they closed the raw fish counter, no idea why. I had my fill so didn't bother asking. The sushi chef appeared to have left before the service is finished too, so no refills. Only alcohol available was the local beer on tap and i was quite surprised with the limited choice of ice cream, plus having to ask someone over the counter for it. I was only given one scoop and never asked whether i wanted more so had to return to get another serving. Same with those desserts they consider "premium", you'll have to ask someone over the counter to pick them out for you. There are only 5 types of fruits on offer, but again quality over quantity. This is certainly a new buffet experience for me as I've been so used to DIY desserts and having 6-8 ice cream flavours to choose from. As long as you stay away from the tempura dishes it's actually quite easy to eat healthy here. Btw, i don't think there are toilets inside the restaurant, cos it's inside a department store, so best be prepared. I'm sure you can leave then come back but every minute counts huh? LOL

Affordable Japanese buffet with a variety of food and drinks bar. Easy to make reservation online. Need to check in at front counter before queueing to enter. Cute toys are available for purchase in the restaurant.

The sushi specialist holding the respect spirit to cut the fresh sushi brings the food more delicious. Tempura is tasty. Grilled fish fin, Ayu sweetfish, steam eggs are my favourite. I am too full, so only have little space for cheese cake, lots of cake there for you to choose. When I hung the coat on the chair, the services person carefully put the chair cover on my clothes so that the oil or other people who walks pass would not have a chance to fall on the clothes. This service makes my heart feel so warm. Bonus is I love drinking warm water, they will come and fill up automatically. Surprisedly that they have sushi cut traditional shows.

Not a place to go for a relaxing meal that's for sure. I went for lunch on a weekday but the lines were still long and the restaurant was mostly full. Food quality is definitely pretty decent for a buffet. No complaints for the sashimi and salmon sushi. I wanted to do lunch instead of afternoon tea for the salmon roe ikura hand rolls and that was yummy. All the other food were mostly in the B to B+ range. It's okay and it's nice to have a variety but then the variety isn't that great compared to a vegas buffet. I think a Japanese sushi buffet in the US might be better (not in terms of quality but in terms of variety on the sushi). The only sushi that was okay for me for ikura and salmon. Their homemade ice cream was pretty awful as they skimped on the cream. Fruits were a nice thing to have to end the meal like a proper Taiwanese. I would probably prefer having all your can eat haagen daz instead of all those random little cruise quality cakes. Its not bad...but also not great. there is no time limit so you get to go in at 11:30am for lunch and stay until 2pm to slowly drink your latte to digest. It's pretty smart that they give you a glove to grab stuff ...hopefully that helps curb any cross contamination. Service is okay, staff seems disinterested and not all of them were friendly. The chefs were jolly and friendly. I would probably do other buffets next time.

The place is excellent and a bit busy as usual. I noticed there are some new food items added into the buffet 😁. As I like this place and visit quite often, the raw meet is speciality but I think a little more variety of chicken would be a great addition. However, the desserts and wine stuff are cool.

Wah. Excellent food and plenty of variety. Mouth watering seafood, hot hotsoups, tasty wines, beer, juices, fruits, deserts and fries lot more... Unlimited food. Bit expensive but much worth to pay for it. The ambience is very nice. One of the best place to leisure at the weekend in xinyi, Taipei.

You can find typical sashimi in this place. Lots of other options for seafood and desserts. Red wine, white wine and some other options included in the price. But sake is not. 10% service charges. 5% discounts for seniors (60+) Walk-in is ok and you don't have to make reservation.

Food was okay... definitely not worth the hype and ridiculous long wait. Service was efficient but not friendly, bunch of old people - specially the oba san enjoy line cutting. Felt rushed during the entire time, 0 ambiance, most likely won't be back again.

This is a high quality Japanese buffet most known for sashimi and Japanese entrees. 6 of us came for dinner on a Wednesday. I was able to reserve the day before without a problem. Note there are two levels and food is only upstairs, so if you have a stroller, elderly, etc and don't care for more private seating, ask to be near the food! Food quality is very good, but Sashimi was 4/5, not as amazing as I'd hoped. Fish is fresh, it's just lacking that the extra freshness that gives its soft, buttery texture. I suppose I just had higher expectations coming from top notch omakase in San Francisco and Taipei. Highlights: Hand rolls Any nigiri (higher quality than sashimi) Hamachi collar Gyoza Tempura Mille crepe cake Haagen Dazs, Milk tea and coffee to order (included in buffet but not self serve) Fresh mochi Entrees were quite astounding too but I was too full off sashimi, Haagen Dazs ice cream and desserts! I'd definitely return and try those next.

Best buffet Taiwan has to offer. It's on par with Vegas. The sushi was a bit better but you have to push them to give you more than 2 slices. Reasonably fresh but better than Vegas. The fried tempura was semi crunchy and greasy. Their soup and various cooked foods was good. Free real bottle coke, no corn syrup

I've been to the restaurant version of this place, but it was my first time going to their Japanese branch of the afternoon tea buffet. It was a good price (590NT per person) and the selection of foods was surprisingly good! Pros - service was awesome. The people were super friendly. I've never had someone take the plates off my table so happily before - soups were good and kept at a good temperature - also served tea which was light and went well with the foods - they give you a short and easy survey towards the end of your meal (in Chinese only) which shows that they're always looking to improve and seek customer feedback Cons - although the tea was good, I wish they had water too. You have to ask for water - seats were hard and not too comfy to sit in

Came back to Shin Yeh about a year and a half after my first visit, and it is still hands down the best buffet I've ever been to in my life. What really sets it apart is the selection and quality of the food. It's technically a "Japanese" buffet, although not everything is Japanese. But almost every dish is at a quality level that is very, very high for a buffet. Ironically the thing I liked the least was the beef next to a sign proudly indicating it was "from the U.S.". Speaking of things from the U.S., I am from the U.S. And this buffet has basically spoiled me for all other buffets, including the ones in my home country. Thanks, I guess.

I love buffets because it allows me to try all different kinds of food. I have pretty high standards for buffets as I have been to many buffets in Las Vegas, the greatest city for buffets. Shin Yeh has many foods of great quality and is comparable to many Las Vegas buffets, and this place is less than half of the price of those in Las Vegas. Shin Yeh mainly serves Japanese food. There is a fresh sushi bar, tempura, and many other traditional Japanese dishes. I really like the tempura, especially when it comes out fresh. The breading is very light but it's still very crunchy. It's not too oily and the vegetables and meats inside are very tender. I also liked the fresh sashimi. They were carving an entire tuna and the sashimi they made from it tasted pretty good. For the price, I think that this buffet is a great deal. There is a variety of different Japanese foods to try and they are all pretty tasty.

Well, I'm back again and 3rd time is just as great as the other 2 times this year! I will rap up my trips to Taiwan this year (5 trips, first 2 early this year yelp wasn't available until May I think?!) I hope Yelp will eventually get to Red China as I haven't been able to yelp anything there for the last week or so and Shanghai has been very good to me too! Remember to always mixed business with great pleasure as I always do...haha. I'm sure after I have tried everything in China then yelp will start after... Oh well, isn't that always the case ?? But back to this AYCE place, I got lazy and didn't take pics because everything is the same, extremely fresh sashimis, curry noodles, fruits and veggies, all the cooked Japanese/ Chinese dishes, all drinks alcohol or none, and of course the desserts too. Everything is just exceptional here. With roughly less than $30 USD per person for AYCE dinner including forever sashimi and wine inside of a beautiful high end shopping center ( after the meal then you can really spend big bucks on your Chanel and Hermes bags and break your bank account...lol) This is heaven on earth. Of course it is packed every night, so be sure to call way way ahead. Oh and they will ask you if you need parking validation so even if you forget, they will remind you!! I just lub this place! We need Shin Yeh in LA!!!

When we made plans for afternoon tea at Shin Yeh, I had no idea what we would be getting ourselves into. A full-blown, all you can eat sashimi and Japanese buffet, including desserts and beverages. What. This is no European "high tea". Afternoon tea was from 2:30-4:30pm, so we were limited to two hours. A line wound around the restaurant from the entrance by the time we got there around 2:15. We had a reservation, but still had to wait in the line. I've heard Shin Yeh has many different style restaurants, with some being more sit-down family style. But this buffet style was enormous. I didn't think a buffet of that size could fit inside a small corner of the department store. Once we were seated, a server poured us our hot tea and covered our shopping bags and purses with a seat covering. I thought we were being kicked out 15 minutes in when our server brought us our check. I guess they just didn't want us leaving without paying. They asked us to pay our tab right then and there, although we had barely started our meal. I wandered the buffet before starting at the long sashimi line. There were various fresh fishes to choose from, so I got one of everything, although my favorite was of course, the salmon. There was also a sushi roll line, a hot food bar, and fruit vinegars to clear the palate and the full belly. My favorite fruit vinegar was the apple vinegar, which tasted like slightly less sweet Apple Sidra, the Asian apple soda. After gorging myself on food and washing it down with a pint of self-serve draft Taiwan Beer, I made a move on fruits and desserts. All was plentiful and exciting: from the ice cream and cakes to traditional red bean and mochi soup, there is something for everyone. I helped myself to a latte from their self-serve espresso maker, although there was a small line for the two machines half an hour before meal closing. This is hands down the best buffet I've had in a long time. We had a two hour time limit, but that's fine, because I need to diet anyway.

This was a buffet that deals with quality over quantity. You are not shocked and awed by a plethora of eating options but instead are impressed by presentation and freshness of food. As with most popular eating establishments in Taiwan, you have to fight huge crowds. We were there for the first (ridiculously early) seating of 5pm. You are given 2 hours to eat after which you are booted for the next seating at 7:30. Favorites: handful of sashimi options, sliced to order; chawan mushi, seared nigiri, shiso-flavored drinking vinegar, shrimp and ice fish tempura, and the drink station including coffee drinks, wine, beer and fresh juices. Service was great as well, with someone coming by to cover your seat back (and your purses/coats/scarves) with a cloth to protect as well as make it easier to navigate the narrow aisles. Dish clearing could have been more proactive meaning sometimes we had to flag someone down. Decor is gorgeous but the bathrooms need paper towels for your hands. I enjoyed our meal here but I could have used slightly more variety.

This used to be my absolute favorite buffet in Taiwan (and maybe in the world). While there are others now that have stepped up their game, this place still to me pretty top notch. What makes this popular Japanese buffet stand out is how it doesn't feel like an AYCE buffet. It's really well designed, thanks to the modern chic feel of the entire restaurant. What I like about this specific buffet versus other ones in Taipei with the Shin Yeh name is that their offerings are less, but the quality is better as a whole versus the Chongsan and Taipei Station locations. The signature item here for me is the super fresh and delicious sashimi station. The fish here is also high quality and it's amazing they let people eat as much as they want. I always go for the usual tuna, salmon and shrimp selections. But honestly it's not about volume as it is really about quality. It's not easy to walk into an AYCE joint and say, hmm, the sashimi was excellent - but this place does the impossible in that regard. As for the other offerings, they have plenty to choose from. Too many to list, but honestly for me the sashimi, high quality prawns and the fish collar options are by far the best things they serve here. Everything else is okay and not necessarily as memorable. But in terms of overall quality, there are few AYCE places on earth that beat this place. It's not cheap but at least you get what you pay for. Typically I come there 2 to 3 times during a 2 week trip to Taipei every year. That's how much I love this place. It's simply worth every cent.

4.5 stars. We came for the afternoon tea buffet from 2:30pm-4:30pm and made reservations about 3 weeks in advance. This buffet is really nice, kind of in the style of Vegas buffets but with better options and Asian flavors. The afternoon tea buffet option is the cheapest at 540 TWD compared to dinner or weekend lunch at 820 TWD. I'm sure those would be even more grand, but for what we were able to eat, the afternoon tea option was perfect. Service is impeccable. The most challenging part of the buffet was that the majority of the food signs were in Chinese, so I got my dad to walk me through the whole buffet reading every item to me, so that I could make informed choices of what I wanted to spend my precious stomach real estate space on. When you get there, you wait in a long line to get in when they open at 2:30pm. They will check your name off against the reservation list. If you don't have a reservation, don't bother waiting in line- they will not let you in.

This spot has tons of great asian bites! We arrived at 1pm, didn't have a reservation but were able to be seated quickly. The staff was really friendly. Some of my favorite bites included: - the creamy potato macaroni - the oyster soup which came in an adorable little ceramic pot - mixed tempura - ALL of the sashimi - ALL of the desserts!!

The food is absolutely amazing. Every bite not only tastes great but is also beautifully made. There's a massive sushi bar, soups that come in cute little teapots, an entire dessert counter, and more. For the price, this buffet is definitely topnotch. One thing to note is that most of the buffet dishes don't have English namecards next to them, so if you can't read Traditional Chinese, it's sometimes hard to tell what you're eating.

Located in the new and trendy xinyi District of Taipei. This is one of the best Japanese buffet restaurants in the city. There is an enormous amount of selection food. You are allowed a 2-hour eating session. The food is delicious but the unlimited beer and wine seems to be a bit watered down. I do enjoy the fact that they are generous with the bottle Cokes and 7ups. One of my favorite combo is the beef sukiyaki and salty fish fried rice. For dessert, there us a wide assortment, but the mille crepe cake stands out. Red bean and mochi also stood out too.

Someone at the hotel recommended this sushi Buffett place and I was all over it. Came here around 1pm and was told that they close at 2. No problem for me. 1 hr is plenty to eat all the sushi I need. The sushi Buffett is definitely all you can eat and there r plenty of options for sushi and sashimi. Sushi tasted good for a Buffett. They also had couple of Japanese hot items such as fried chicken and tempura vegetables and those were good too. I also loved their desserts. There were several and I just randomly tried the kochi, red bean cake and chocolate cake. Only negative is that some of the dishes did not have a English name card and so definitely a place for slightly more adventure eaters but folks with allergies need to be careful.

For my virgin review in Taipei, I've chosen one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Hsin Yeh Japanese Buffet in the Xinyi district - not the one downtown nor the one uptown. This one excels in food quality and selection. If you like Japanese food, if you want value for your money, if you have a stomach the size of Mount Everest on steroids, never mind every buffet you've ever been to. 欣葉日本料理 is the yardstick by which you should measure all buffets past, present and future. This galaxy and the next. The main buffet area is divided into cold and hot foods, with two other areas for desserts and non-alcoholic beverages. Cold foods include the freshly-made hand rolls (four choices: shrimp, salmon, Taiwanese asparagus (veg option), and something else the overfed mind fails to register), which are made Japanese style with the sweet mayo and dried seaweed wrap. There's also a selection of cold seafood, such as cooked shrimp on ice. Sometimes cooked oysters, and other goodies. There's also a variety of sashimi cut in person by a highly sterilized chef with the mask, the hat and the clean white, starched uniform. The pieces are small - smaller than a loudmouth's (my) tongue - but you can ask for double, triple or even quadruple portions - as often as your loundmouth can handle - and the guy behind the counter usually won't bat an eyelash. Even if you're a vegetarian you'll find a plenty of food here. Tempting salads with a rotating roster of bamboo shoots, pea tendrils and various mushrooms exquisitely seasoned and prepared, always available, making it impossible for us carnivores to get our money's worth of the sashimi and sushi. The hot food doesn't disappoint - huge tempura shrimp and veggies, grilled fish cheeks, mushrooms, chicken wings, yakitori, as well as sauteed veggies, pork, chicken, fish...even a roast beef station manned by another sterilized chef. Notables here is the clear consomme of clam broth held in small single-portioned tea kettles, submerged in hot water. Forgo the tiny cup with which you're supposed to sip the consomme and just drink directly from the kettle's spout instead. Stand at the display if you must, for the kettles are so small, three kettles equal one regular portion of soup. No need to run back and forth to your table. And for those of you who were dragged to the buffet against your will and cannot eat anything other than fried rice or noodles, there is also the conservative person's version of Asian food with the innocuous traditional stir fried dishes, all well-prepared. Die-hard drinkers rejoice! Unlimited alcohol is displayed in the form of white/red/plum wines in little glasses so small you'll think it's for your baby (start 'em young!). Beer is also available at the beverage dispenser area, along with tea, coffee, a variety of cold fruit or sweet teas. Dessert. Again, little portions of red bean mochi somethings, cakes, sticky sesame, cheesecake, ice cream, dessert soups...all in the Japanese tradition of low on sugar but great on taste. Except for the occasional grilled or deep fried food that's been standing around longer than it should, everything at the buffet turns over quickly and is tasty. Reservations are NECESSARY if you want to get in on the weekends, and you MUST arrive on time. (They may call days in advance hoping you'll give up your reservation so they can re-book it with someone else.) I've been over a dozen times and this place is always packed, weekends, weekdays, early or late evenings. Prices are very reasonable for what you get (no more than $840 or so for dinner), and lunch and afternoon tea are also offered but you don't get as much of a selection. Service. The last time we went my sister found a hair in her food, which they replaced (the food, not the hair) with the chef "specially preparing" a dish for my sister...not on the menu. My only gripe is that it can take forever to get your bill, which can be a terrible thing, since the only way to pass the time is to return to the buffet and indulge in more food.

This is an AYCE and drink (wine, beer, juices and apple vinegar...seriously) that is by far the best I've ever had. Not only was the service top notch, but the quality of the food was terrific. Sashimi to order, fresh seafood and perfectly cooked steaks. Not to mention actual edible dessert unlike so many Asian AYCE restaurants. Did I mention they have beer on tap that you can pour yourself? On tap! I want to say the price was less than 25 a person for dinner and was well worth it. My favorites was the fatty salmon sashimi, cold Japanese noodles and the mini chocolate crepes. Also, beer on tap.

One of the best Japanese all you can eat cuisine I have had. It ranges from raw dish, salad, fruits, sushi, great selection of soup, hot dish, fried dish, drinks (red wine and white wine) and lots of desserts. Everything tastes really good, some of the dishes I recommend are Steam egg (with great soup base) Sashimi, hand rolls, sushi, fried fish and chicken wings.. etc. I mean, they are all you can eat, so just grab and try a little bit of everything. Customer service is great. There are a lot of waiters around you waiting to take your plates away. Price is reasonable as a buffet I only give 4 stars before after the meal I feel really thirsty for some reasons. P.S HAVE to make a reservation before you go. Do it early, or else you will not have seats.

We went to this buffet with my boyfriend's family while visiting Taiwan. It was so fancy, I couldn't believe it. All the food was delicious. They had a sushi bar, where you could just get plates on plates of sashimi. They had another area that had sushi rolls being constantly rolled and put out. They couldn't cut the rolls fast enough! There was a glass case of desserts which was all included. They had BEER AND WINE, assortment of juices (that were all so delicious). This place has to have been one of the best buffets I've ever gone to. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Definitely a must visit when visiting Taiwan. Make sure you go before 2 (which is when their AYCE ends).

If you are in Taipei looking for a place to eat... go here! This is an all you can eat Japanese place. I say Japanese and not sushi because there many non sushi options. Many cooked, fried and grilled options as well as raw fish bar and sushi/seafood galore. And we can't forget the dessert bar! Aren't sold yet? There is also free flow booze. It'd about 25USD per person with a limited time of 90 minutes. They seat in rounds and will kick you out once time has elapsed but its plenty of time in my opinion. Be sure to call to make a reservation, they speak English because there are many expats here. Fish is fresh and food is better than non AYCE places, what is there not to love? Must try when you are around Taipei, it's quite an experience. It's MUCH better than Vegas buffets if you want a comparison!

I went for lunch and variety and quality wise, it's one of the best buffet i've been to. Nothing compared to the all you can eat buffets in montreal. Its around $30 CAD / person for lunch. I would highly recommend.

Do you know why this place is good? 1. On weekends, they have a 2-month waiting list. 2. On weekdays, the older generation are waiting in line before the doors open. Good things: Sushi, hot food, soups, desserts, well, pretty much everything! They even have alcohol served in little shot glasses.

A good choice for business or even a date scene. Food - The Toro was just ok for the price but the Salmon belly was remarkably better than expected. Kampachi was a average. Unagi hand roll was not that good. The Hot Pot short ribs was delicious. However they literally charge a la carte for everything so if you want more cabbage, noodles or sides they get you. I think for a place with this level of pricing it should be included. You sort of feel nickel and dimed Even a small bowl or rice is extra. And of course they alway push to sell you the drinking water. Prices - I think it's a little on the high side, but given the location it's understandable. Ambience/decor - very good! This restaurant is located very close to Eslite bookstore and Taipei 101 so it's convenient for a good meal after you shop. The decor was upscale. The wine offering and the wine holder or cabinet against the wall was impressive. The climate is very comfortable for business conversation or an intimate date because the seats are not too close together. On our last visit they even had a live musician playing some string instrument to liven up the room. Service - Excellent. The staff to customer ratio is well proportioned so you rarely have to look for service. They are attentive and professionally trained. Overall - 4 star and worth coming back.

Don't get it confused, this is for the buffet and not the restaurant. There are a few of these chain restaurants around Taipei now. Compared to the other buffets (Le Meridan, Regent, Westin, Kitchen Table, Hyatt, Sheraton, etc...) this is my favorite. The food and drink selection are plentiful and the place is not big so it doesn't feel like you're walking far to get more food. Reservations are a must especially for the weekends, even the weekday lunches are packed! Usually we go for tea time around 2:30pm and eat until we are content - it's cheaper and it serves as our lunch and dinner. The sashimi is fresh and the rest of the food are delicious and hot. The desserts are awesome as well, the best is the square cake with cream inside, but make sure to get a cold one. One of the best plates is the grilled fish collar. I saw a bunch of old ladies fight for the whole platter when it was brought out. Smh.

This was the last dinner for D and I during our trip to Taiwan this year. I have to say, this would be one of the best Japanese buffet places I have been to so far out of all the Japanese buffets I have been to. Although I have to say all the Japanese buffet places I have been to were all in Canada. This would be the very first Japanese buffet places I have been to outside of Canada. First thing is first though, if you want to come here make sure you make RESERVATIONS. We didn't make any reservations. We thought we could just go to the restaurant and be able to eat there. We did get in but I would say it was pure luck. We got there, which was not far from our hotel or the main subway station in Taipai, it was packed with people. Even getting into the building and into an elevator to get to the floor of the restaurant was packed with people. When we got to the floor of the restaurant, and this is why I say make sure you make reservations, they would seat all patrons with reservations first and whatever seats are left (if any) they would then seat patrons without reservations. We were only two people so it was a bit earlier for us to get a table after they seated all the patrons with reservations. By the way, they have set reservation periods, so everyone gets seated at the same time and would finish at the same time. There is a very big selection of Japanese food to choose from for cooked and non-cooked foods. There are also quite a lot of food choices that we don't have in the Japanese buffets here in Toronto and Ottawa (not sure about Vancouver as I normally don't go to Japanese buffets when I am out there). They have a separate desert bar, which is big selection and the deserts I have to say were very good and not too sweet. There is also a drink station too. I like the drink station because I can get my coffee there to go with my desert at the end of the meal and the coffee is freshly brewed. What I find in Asia (Hong Kong and Taiwan) there don't have drip coffee like we do in Canada, if you want coffee they make it fresh like Americano style. Overall, we had an amazing time here. Great experience overall!

AYCE japanese food isn't really my thing but this spot is worth a look. You get ayce sashimi, some cooked food, sushi, and desserts. The best part is the aycd wine snd beer.

Sashimi is fresh. But hot food selection are very limited. As for buffet, it's not bad.

Best Restaurant for an authentic Taiwanese dining experience We ordered the whole gamut of dishes and everything was wonderful. Some personal favorites were the pork belly bao, the vermicelli wraps, the lobster, the fried soy bean rolls, and the mango almond jelly dessert

Honestly probably the best buffet I've had here in Taiwan. Needless to say no buffet in the states compares to this place when it comes to the actual quality of food. Yes in Las Vegas you can get a much bigger variety but the food there taste like cafeteria food compared to this restaurant.

Wow, this was quite the hidden gem. I'll here in a trip to visit my relatives and we decided to come here to eat. They asked us for reservations but we didn't have any so we were placed in the wait list. Since we were there pretty early they let us in. The food here is one of the best I've eaten, including restaurants where the food is served to order. Most of the cooked food is fresh. The sushi with the sauces on them were also pretty good. I would say some of the regular raw sushi may have been frozen so they're wasn't much taste to some of the fish but there were also some that seemed pretty fresh. I would go as far as to say 90 percent of the food I ate was pretty good. I didn't touch too much of the dessert since I was already pretty full by then. The service is also pretty fast. The plates are small but usually when I went to get my next plate my old plate was already gone and they kept my tea cup filled. The only slow part was paying the bill, it took them a while to get back to us.

I've had better. Their price point for the quality of food was absolute miss. We paid $30 usd per person for a weekday dinner. They offered a good selection of Asian soups, grilled fish, and desserts which where tasty but everything else was mediocre. No crab or large shrimp, their steak looked sad and so did their sushi:(. They did offer free beer and wine so if your planning to get drunk on a budget, this is the place for you. I wish I would have had dinner at Yen's or The kitchen table at the W.

Sushi buffet in a shopping mall. This should tell you what to expect from this place. Not just food was bad, hostess was extremely rude. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Anyone who thinks sushi here is fresh hasn't had good sushi in their life. I am from Seattle and my bar for good sushi is high. this place is even worst than bad sushi I have had in Seattle.

The food was delicious. So much choices. The service was very good. There were many patrons but the food was replaced quickly. Would return my next trip to Taipei.

I'm blown away by the quality and service. This location is waaay better than itsssister buffet restaurants. All you can eat sashimi is included for lunch, teatime, and dinner! Each time I went theres a selection of 5-6 types of fish. Theres a carving station that changes but each meat has been fantastic. The temuprura is SO crunchy but tender and juicy. The hamachi kama is cooked perfectly. Lots of fruit and great dessert too. Drinks are included.

I was pretty disappointed with this place after reading the great review on Yelp! I was quite impressed by the price of $800+ NTD per person. I'm not sure if the chucks of sashimi reflects generosity or poor knife skills? I was quite thankful of the rare refill of my tasteless matcha. The mystery meat (roast beef?) was surprisingly awful. The variety of sushi was noticeably absent. By the way, if you're looking for soft-shell crab, keep walking! There were plenty of tempura and dessert. Maybe this was meant to be a fusion restaurant? 1 star for the alcohol and 1 star for religiously refilling food and picking up dirty dishes.

Dining experience and expectation could be better. We were looking for a seafood buffet restaurant and this place continously shows as one of the better options near Taipei 101 with pictures of crabs and large prawns, which is why we chose this. It is an above average Japanese sushi restaurant, with a few seafood selection (like shrimp and fish). Crab is definitely missing despite being advertised. There were a few selection of other items (like grilled fish, tempura etc). Good selection of drinks and desserts/cakes though. Passable as buffet restaurant despite an above average price.

Awesomeness. We went to Japan right after our time in Taipei and felt that Shin Yeh actually served among the best food of our trip - 'nuff said! Reservations are essential but my Taipei-dwelling mother in law took care of that for us.

great Japanese buffet. had a lunch there, very reasonably priced with an excellent variety of fresh seafood and cooked foods. will definitely go back again. difficult to find in the shopping mall.
