"The encyclopaedic proportions of the menu may be a bit daunting, but the familiar and much-loved dishes of the group’s flagship outlets feature prominently. This branch serves the brand’s greatest hits from the past 40 years, such as the 70s classic, fish-shaped minced shrimp toast, alongside new creations like almond tofu dessert with peanut mochi and pu’er tea. Also check out the hidden items, previously only available to those in the know." - Michelin Inspector

Google
Shinyeh has long been an iconic restaurant in Taiwan, and this brand truly turn the Taiwanese cuisine to a fine dining level. We booked two compartments to cater a total of 20 guests. Although the size of the two tables are not identical, it basically led to no big issues. Instead of ordering the set menu, we decided to make our own selections that includes all tradiational favorites. The gem must goes to Guabao (刈包), which costs 160 per bun but it truly worth it. The minimum cost for two party rooms are 50,000, so the average cost can be as high as 2,500 per person. A bit pricey but it is in fact much better than Mipon.

Authentic Taiwanese. Some of the dishes might need more people together to enjoy as they are meant to be shared. However, one can also enjoy a good variety of great Taiwanese food for 2-3 people. Plan to spend about NTD1000 pp after everything said and done. While overall service is great, for a one-star restaurant, I would expect more staff for a more attentive table side service. Some of the stir fried dishes were a little bland but signature dishes like the beef are top notch and are must try. Sweet and sour pork I would pass next time but definitely get the fried rice. Marinated pork intestines were also extremely delicious as were the beef noodle soup.

Stick to the smaller dishes like the bao, king oyster mushrooms, oyster omelette etc, they are phenomenal. But the more expensive ones like the gourmet crab dish and steamed tooth fish is just not worth it, the dishes are prepared very well but they are just severely lacking in flavor unfortunately for the price point.

This is my third time visiting this restaurant chain, but my first time at this location. It’s located on the first floor of the mall alongside several other restaurants and cafés. Reservations are recommended. Every dish is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

Google
Many many dishes to order from. We were two people and ordered five dishes, where one was the more expensive crab, two beers and tea, and we paid 4000 NT$. We were most satisfied with the cheapest dish (the buns) . Overall lacking in refined seasoning (namely salt) . The crab was wholly unsalted (but the rice beneath was slightly more seasoned) . We were strongly discouraged to order the aged Chinese rice wine because we were Westerners and they had never had a Westerner enjoy that drink apparently, so we chickened out even though I might say that we are pretty bold in our tasting preference and palate.

Google
Delicious homey food in an elevated setting. We ordered entirely from their signature menu and would recommend the steamed minced pork and whitebait leek dish. The oyster omelette was a bit of a miss as it was a little too mushy for our liking.

Michelin definitely know their stuff! This restaurant has delicious food and superb service. It's inside the Taipei Marriott, which is such a posh, elegant hotel. When you get in your car or car-share, two car attendants are there: one to open the door for you, and one holds his hand on the inside roof of the car so that you don't hit your head on the car roof edge! I need this kind of service always please! Ha ha. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes.

MUST. From start to finish everything was flawless. Recommended dishes were amazing. All of them were really tasty, served fast and had next level taste. Portions where towards big and the menu had a ton of variety to choose from. Also the price was quite reasonable. I am definetely coming back here and I for sure recommend it!
