Shin Yeh Taiwanese Signature

"The encyclopaedic proportions of the menu may be a bit daunting, but the familiar and much-loved dishes of the group’s flagship outlets feature prominently. This branch serves the brand’s greatest hits from the past 40 years, such as the 70s classic, fish-shaped minced shrimp toast, alongside new creations like almond tofu dessert with peanut mochi and pu’er tea. Also check out the hidden items, previously only available to those in the know." - Michelin Inspector

Authentic Taiwanese. Some of the dishes might need more people together to enjoy as they are meant to be shared. However, one can also enjoy a good variety of great Taiwanese food for 2-3 people. Plan to spend about NTD1000 pp after everything said and done. While overall service is great, for a one-star restaurant, I would expect more staff for a more attentive table side service. Some of the stir fried dishes were a little bland but signature dishes like the beef are top notch and are must try. Sweet and sour pork I would pass next time but definitely get the fried rice. Marinated pork intestines were also extremely delicious as were the beef noodle soup.

MUST. From start to finish everything was flawless. Recommended dishes were amazing. All of them were really tasty, served fast and had next level taste. Portions where towards big and the menu had a ton of variety to choose from. Also the price was quite reasonable. I am definetely coming back here and I for sure recommend it!

I had the stir-fried tenderloin with kale; the stir-fried shrimp with sweet peppers, green beans, and cashew nuts; and some steamed rice. All of these were very good dishes. I’d eat here again and recommend the restaurant as a splurge dinner option. Appreciate the great service.

Incredible value for money for a Michelin 1-star restaurant. No tasting menu here but endless a la carte options. Portions are very generous (bigger than what the dishes seem on the menu) and all options we tried were tasty. We were only 2 dining and the waiter had to stop us from over ordering, but I imagine the experience is even more enjoyable with a bigger group so a wider selection of dishes can be ordered and shared.

Shin Yeh Signature is located on the first floor of Taipei Marriott Hotel's Midtown Plaza and is an upscale Taiwanese restaurant that has earned one Michelin star for three consecutive years. The spacious 4.4-meter-high ceiling space can accommodate 178 diners, with modern stylish décor and refined lighting creating a comfortable and relaxed dining atmosphere. The restaurant offers over 100 traditional Taiwanese banquet dishes, with signature dishes like the Five Blessings Platter, braised pork, and preserved radish omelet all demonstrating exceptional culinary expertise. Although prices are on the higher end and reservations can be difficult to secure, whether for business gatherings or family occasions, the refined cuisine and professional service here make it well worth a special visit.

Flavorful renditions of local Taiwanese dishes served at a breakneck pace in a warm, modern setting. The high end, dare I say elegant, interpretations of classic street food like 刈包 elevate home cooking to starred status. It's understaffed though / you'll get your food fast but will have trouble getting drink refills, adding dishes or paying for your meal.

Had a lot of expectations of this place given the stellar reviews and the consecutive Michelin years awards. However, disappointingly, my husband and I agreed that it was good, not great. Not sure if it's because we didn't order the 'right' dishes, or they just didn't suit our tastebuds, but we honestly felt we still preferred night market style - eg. Pan fried radish cake instead of fancy xo style etc.

Had a simple lunch comprising of 4 dishes with porridge. The menu was very comprehensive but 2 of us in the group was not feeling too good. Service was excellent and staff were attentive to detail. The dishes were deliciously local.
