Google
Surprised to see negative reviews on here! I’m visiting Boston for a few days, and saw that there was a Shinola store near my hotel - they’ve carried my favorite journal for years, but had discontinued my favorite color. Just for the heck of it I took a peak on the website and saw that it was back! So I was on a mission when I walked in and was so happy to see the oat colored journals! I was given a warm welcome from all three employees - Christian, Logan, and Sara(h?). I also had a pen refill that I was unsure if it would fit with any of their pens, and they were more than happy to give it a try! Great environment and staff.

I delivered my watch to the Boston store, and it had to be sent to Detroit for repairs. I specifically asked for it to be returned to the store. The next day I returned and asked for those instructions to be confirmed. I was assured it was. My watch was not returned to the store but to my apartment, which is not secure. Now it’s at a UPS location that I will have to track down. Extremely inconvenient!!’

I gave my son-in-law the Shinola Canfield Model c56 Eye Chrono 43 mm in Blue for a gift. He loved the metal band. It broke after a month and Shinola send thoughts and prayers and told us we were Shinola-outa-luck. I didn't get it in the Boston Store to be clear but one can't leave a review on the main web page.

I’ve bought two watches and a belt from the prudential store both times the experience was great. I had the same sales women both times and left very pleased with the experience. She went as far as to let me see how her watch size looked on me (was comparing sizes). Highly recommend!

No one greeted me at the store. I asked to see a piece of jewelry, and then later asked to purchase it. They didn't have any more in stock at the store, and asked if I wanted to order it. Because I intended it for a gift that I needed that day, I asked if I could purchase the display, at a discount. The associate went to the manager, who (in a loud voice) said how no, of course they couldn't do that and made it sound like an idiotic request. I didn't get the option to buy the display, even at full price. I said, I'll just order it online myself, and they said "but you get free 2-day shipping" when you order in-store. BTW, you get 2 free-day shipping when you order online. So yeah. Love the brand but terrible shopping experience,

Tom and Anais were fantastic to work with. We arrived needing to adjust two watches purchased from the Detroit store and get a new battery on an older watch. Tom and Anais were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and quick. We ended up walking out with our newly adjusted watches, bought another watch, purchased a purse and a personalized embossed notebook.

Google
really like that brand and its story behind. interesting to see how they entered other markets than watches (e.g., bikes, leather, etc.). however, would like to see more mechanical watches (even with ETA or Sellita movements). and, yes, staff at their BOS store was really friendly and helpful:-)

Google
Nice store, really cool merchandise, great that it is made in the USA, the staff were very friendly and responsive when I went in, but it is on the pricier side. The only problem with a pricey new brand is that I wouldn't hesitate to drop a lot on an Omega watch, but with a new product like Shinola it makes it hard just to drop a few hundred to a couple grand on something without on proven track record.

Yelp
Great items but super overpriced and the "made in America" is more "assembled in America from foreign parts" especially for watches. Still thr boston store is full of nice things to browse including leather goods and handsome if chunky watches, then say to yourself "if only this was 40% cheaper. Staff are helpful and no pressure, and they do have embossing for many items

Yelp
Well made, inspired designs with proper American panache. Raymond was very resourceful and a wealth of product knowledge

Yelp
After looking at several time pieces (yes it's a "piece") for a few months I chose Shinola not only for the amazing style, but quality and their story. If you don't know their full story, read it! I agree it's a must to see their pieces in person. This was a wedding gift and it was perfect, came in an amazing wooden box - perfect! I then found myself on a trip to Boston and passing this store and was beside myself to go in an actual store (I bought mine in a Nordstrom store). Everyone in the store was so nice and fun to shop with. All I wanted was a new strap for my wedding gift - a slightly different one/ they were extremely helpful. I bought one and when we got home unfortunately it didn't fit. Vince and the entire Shinola team were amazing helping to get the right strap to us, making my sure our wedding gift stayed the perfect gift it is! Thanks Vince for everything you did!

Yelp
The managers are super rude, the stuff is super overpriced, all the watches are quartz! You can find the same style for much cheaper, and same quality with fossil, they are pretty much the same brand. The co-owner of Shinola is one of the founders of fossil, so they are close in comparison in quality, but Shinola is crazy with their pricing! $800-$1000 for a quartz watch???. Their watch cases are MADE IN CHINA!!!! and the movement in Switzerland, nothing in the watch is made here in America like they say it is! don't even bother asking for discounts, the managers will give you the dirtiest look! if you like the watch go to the outlet stores like Saks OFF 5th Ave, or Nordstrom Rack. There heavily discounted there and carry unique styles to choose from. Don't give these Shinola clowns in the Copley mall business- they're a joke!!

Yelp
If you are interested in Shinola products, it really makes sense to visit the store and examine them in person before making a purchase. Shinola products are not cheap, and the web images sometimes do not do the products justice. So two simple reasons to visit right there. I like that they have tons of watches out that you can touch and evaluate up close. Though this is a little off topic, I think that once they start making mechanical watches (I believe they have one out now) this will be a much more desirable brand. I've not spent much time in the store, but two people who worked with me on a couple of gifts were very helpful.

Yelp
The man I interacted with a Boston's Shinola store was rude and gave me attitude. However, when I expressed my displeasure elsewhere I was given great customer service by a Shinola employee outside of Boston. I appreciate that they followed up with me and fixed the problem with my watch.

Yelp
Customer service was terrific. Both salespeople were patient and helpful in getting me the perfect watch. I highly recommend going in person. Thanks again.

Yelp
We were assisted by the three associates working in the store today. Very pleased with the service and the veteran discount! Thank you for your beautiful made in Detroit pieces of art.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. I walked in here hoping to quickly pay for an item and leave but the two staff working was preoccupied with customers. So I patiently waited for 15 mins while they slowly chit chat away without acknowledging a third customer who just wanted to pay and leave. I ended up leaving without buying because it's not worth my business at their price point.

Yelp
I've done most of my Shinola shopping on-line. I love the design of their watches and I own a couple of their bicycles. I have visited the Boston store several times, and have always been treated well by the friendly sales people. It's true that the prices are high, but so is the quality of the merchandise. Most Shinola products are made (or assembled) in Detroit, Michigan. The company provides opportunities for Detroit residents to become skilled workers in the areas of watch assembly, leather products manufacture, and bicycle production. I have no relationship to the company, other than being a satisfied on-line customer. I do enjoy seeing their products in person in the Boston store, and I hope that others will stop in for a visit, and see what Shinola has to offer.
