"Given the abundance of hotels in Siem Reap , it’s hard to imagine that when the Shinta Mani opened in 2003 there were few—if any—comparable boutique properties in town. It set the bar for those seeking a smaller-scale, personable, and indulgent experience, from the traditional Khmer decor to the cuisine. And like any great hotel, there comes a time for a change. Enter Bill Bensley, the Harvard-educated, Bangkok -based architect and landscape designer behind many of the world’s most arresting properties, who led a two-year total renovation of the place completed in 2012. Using cues from Angkor—columned passages, Buddhist shrines, maps and photos of the temples—Bensley dramatically transformed the Shinta Mani into a contemporary haven with a touch of whimsy, now called Shinta Mani Angkor(the larger Shinta ManiShack resort is across the road). Interiors use a stark palette—white subway-tiled floors and walls; heavy black armoires; charcoal-gray terrazzo partitions; stainless-steel light fixtures—offset by tangerine accents, in a nod to the orange-clad Buddhist monks who meander the temples’ time-worn sandstone structures. From the sugar palm tree–fringed black granite lap pool to the dangling daybeds where you’ll enjoy the decadent breakfast buffet, the Shinta Mani offers just the right mix of drama and comfort."

We were blown away at the beauty and services at Shinta Mani Angkor! It was a 6 Star experience. All the staff members were friendly and helpful. We felt like mega stars! |The property was cozy and beautifully appointed. The pool was beautiful to look at day and night. We left Shinta Mani Angkor feeling relaxed and happy. It was truly THE best hotel in our 15 days in Cambodia and Bangkok.

Beautiful hotel, very sophisticated, great location, great pool, very friendly staff. We had a wonderful time, I would totally come back. Food was ok but not amazing, breakfast was ok but not too much variety, we had lunch a couple of times by the pool and was not impressed by the food and was quite expensive for the quality you get. Also prices of the tours offered by the hotel are extremely expensive compared to the options found online. So definitely recommend staying here but checking other options for food and tours.

If I could give six stars I would. The service here is above and beyond what I expect even from high-end hotels. Starting from our arrival, where they greeted us at the door with fresh-squeezed juice, and extending throughout our stay in Siem Reap, where they ensured that our tuktuk driver had a supply of chilled towels for us. Aside from the service, the hotel itself is beautiful and the spa is supremely luxurious. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Siem Reap.

We visited Siem Reap for sightseeing during a New Years trip to Asia and had a wonderful stay at this property!||The hotel is very well designed, peaceful, and the rooms are big and comfortable. The staff was really accommodating and arranged some great excursions & activities to help us explore the city. Our visit to Angkor Wat and the temples was amazing and our tour guide Jeff was super knowledgeable and provided a great sunrise tour. ||I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Siem Reap!

Shinta Mani was a spectacular way to experience Ankor Wat, with more than a touch of luxury.||It's located in the heart of Siem Reap, but to be honest we spent most of our time at the hotel. The staff were all lovely, especially with our 11yo son - they remembered drink orders, were always attentive and helpful, always smiling.||One reason we travelled to Cambodia was our love of food from the region (we love Vietnamese). Overall we had a hard time finding authentic Khmer food but the exception was the restaurant at Shinta Mani - the food was extraordinary. All of it based on Khmer traditional ingredients but elevated to a fine dining level. It was the highlight of our whole trip to the country, no joke. Be sure to eat at the restaurant multiple nights to try the full range. The Kampot pepper is amazing, and so much fresher than we can get back in Australia.||Also, the international food was good too - and our son loved having a smash burger while my wife and I had Cambodian delicacies.||Despite not being a natural morning person, the sunrise tour to Angkor Wat was so good... and clearly the right way to see the (truly epic) temple. The hotel had coffee and tea and breakfast boxes ready to go for our early start. The cool morning air made the climb up to the top of the temple a little bit easier, and it was nice avoiding the crowds. Even by 8am I could see the lines stretching out in the heat and it was well worth the early alarm, plus we were back before lunch for a meal of prawns, squid and fresh green pepper. After sweating through the temples, we spent the afternoon splashing in the (giant) pool in the courtyard. Frustratingly, most of the pools in Cambodia are only 1.2m which is a bit shallow to feel truly relaxed but this was the only one we found that's more like 1.4m - which for some reason is just so much more relaxing.||My favourite temple actually wasn't Angkor Wat but the further flung Beng Mealea. If you have time to do 2 days of tour it's totally worth it. You need to spend an extra few hours in the car (return trip) but I liked the combination of epic temple being reclaimed by the jungle - plus the transfer arranged by the hotel was very comfortable.||My husband felt it was the most comfortable bed of the whole trip - even better than the island resorts we went to in the south. The room was stunning, in hindsight I wish we'd booked an extra night and taken time to see the lake.||Special thanks to our tour guide Sam, and our driver Sol and our butler Son - they took such good care of us, especially our boy. Sam's guide through the history of the Khmer kingdom made the tour so much more of a rich experience.||Thank you Shinta Mani, we hope to see you again.

We had a wonderful experience at the Shinta Mani with my family - two sons plus my mother. The service was exceptional - they went above and beyond our expectations. We had a small issue with our room and Benjamin, the manager, made everything perfect for us. The restaurant food was excellent. Everything was high quality.

I am a yearly traveler to Siem Reap. This was my third stay with the lovely folks at Shinta Mani. I absolutely love this place and adore the entire staff. This hotel is within easy walking distance to many activities such as the River Walk and numerous small local restaurants and shopping. The rooms are extremely comfortable and everything works. The best part of my stays here is the staff ..... front desk staff, restaurant staff, housekeeping ...... EVERYONE. This is my go-to hotel in Siem Reap.

Stayed for a few days, and wow, what a great spot. Not far to Angkor Wat, which was absolutely incredible to explore. The place itself is nice, and super relaxing, and everything was great, really in the middle of everything. The staff were amazing, like seriously, some of the nicest people I’ve met. The food was good too, and my room was lovely, overall nice facilities. Highly recommend if you'd like to try and explore around.
