Sleek, modern stop for classic & creative ramen variations with Japanese pub plates, beer & sake.
"Same owners, address and phone number, but newcomer Shinya Maru Ramen & Izakaya has added a whole new menu and a tongue-in-cheek approach to its business inside the former home of H2O Poke & Sushi Burrito. Located at the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Paradise Road, across from the Hard Rock Hotel, the California operators still run H2O Sushi & Izakaya less than a mile way at the Hughes Center. The space has been upgraded with new furnishings and murals and in keeping with its izakaya inspiration, stays open until 2 a.m. on the weekend. On the menu, ramen dishes priced between $8.50 for a basic bowl to the $11 “Killing Miso Softly,” created with “sugar, spice, and everything nice.” The $10 “Shoyu What Tonkatsu Ramen,” is made with “pork chasu, egg, kikurage, corn, bean sprout and green onion.” The $8.50 “We Can Pork It Out” and “Another Chicken the Wall” rice bowls join izakaya-inspired selections, like the $5 “Call Me Chicken Karaage” and the “Eye of the Takoyaki” featuring grilled octopus, battered and fries, plus a chicken dumpling dish named “I’ve Been Waiting for A Gyoza Like You.” Keeping it local, “Paradise Lemonade” and a virgin “Paradise Mojito” are available for $3.50." - Bradley Martin
