"Torrance— Head to the new Shiok! Asian Street Food in Torrance for a casual pan-Asian dining experience. The restaurant’s best-sellers include a Vietnamese banh mi with lemongrass steak on a house-made baguette, as well as rice bowls topped with steak or vegetarian jackfruit." - Cathy Chaplin

Tried the nightmarket bao and crispy golden bao. The nightmarket bao was a little sweet for me and heavier on the soy sauce flavor, would have preferred it more tea/herbal flavored. Also not as tender as I would like it, not to say it was tough by any means. The crispy golden bao is pretty good, mostly because deep fried Chinese bread is really good already. The added meat did not really make it any better, would prefer Shanghai pan fried baos for the price. Worth a try for yourself, nothing was bad, just not my preference. Parking is ample and staff was friendly. Food comes out pretty quick.

Awesome food. Awesome service. These guys are awesome and so friendly. The owner, Michael, is such a genuine and generous person. Definitely do not pass this place up. Get the strawberry shortcake, it is my favorite drink on the menu. The chicken curry is amazing with the rice noodles. The lemongrass tofu steak is my favorite protein on the menu.

Amazing place! The owners are fantastic and you can really feel their passion in the food. Drinks were so beautiful (I highly suggest the lemango lemonade) and delicious. Veggie options were the bomb! Is definitely now on my radar for a quick lunch or dinner :)

I love this place. Asian street food at its best. The food here is so delicious it's frightening! If you are a vegetarian this is also a good place to eat. I will say just about everything on the menu is good. They were a fairly new restaurant at the beginning of 2019. If they open again after Covid subsides I imagine their going to be really busy. The owner is also really nice. Those Boa are good, also the pork belly is 🔥. I believe they also change the menu up very often. If you are a fan of asian food this is a MUST HAVE!!

Good effort a bit lacking in the flavor department. We tried the pork belly bao and the bahn mi. Looked great smelled great, but to be honest it lacked flavor. They have a good concept. I wish the cook wasn't too timid in kicking up the flavor profile.

No stars!! The drinks had a medicinal taste. The food came out cold. The kids chicken bowl was bland. Also they need to work on customer service and need to better explain their menu. My family walked in and they basically stared at us and didn't ask if we needed anything or menu explaination. We will not return.

So glad to have found this gem in the area. We went there on a Saturday night (soft opening) and it was packed for a good reason - unique fusion of everything you like about Asian food. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the Crispy Golden Bao (not my usual type of bao because it's fried), but this was an exception. The outside was perfectly textured and the filling was very tasty - definitely burned my tongue with how quickly I ate it. Can eat this all day, everyday! We also ordered the Shrimp Tators (really good) it was not just fried and wrapped in wonton, but also enclosed with potatoes strings - a unique touch. For main entrees, I had the Asian Street Bowl with Chicken Satay. It was delicious with a medley of flavorful and crunchy sides that complements the dish. My friend chose the Signature Bahn Mi and loved it. Only comment was she wished it was served hot. My hubby got the Cha Cha Noodle Salad and said it was fresh and good too. The signature drinks were a blend of different flavors that you wouldn't think possible to combine. Like their Strawberry Shortcake (with coconut milk), Lemango Nova (lemonade and mango), Aurora Bliss (lemonade, mango, and lychee) all made with chunks of fresh fruits - really refreshing. They said they will introduce more menus as they approach their Grand Opening on September 28. Would definitely be back to try their other treasured family recipes.
